The Marvel Studios’ series WandaVision may have ended its run on Disney+ nearly a year and a half ago, but the cultural impact the show has had on the Marvel Cinematic Universe fanbase continues to be evident. Now, a supporting character of the show is getting their own Marvel Legends action figure.
Marvel Legends has made available for pre-order an action figure of Agent Jimmy Woo. Played by Randall Park, Woo first made an appearance in 2015’s Ant-Man before having a larger role in WandaVision. Woo has been a fan favorite in the MCU even with his limited screen time. The figure even includes alternate hand to recreate Agent Woo’s sleight-of-hand magic trick from the series. Check out the full figure below:
Marvel Legends
The Woo figure joins Marvel Legends figures of the Scarlet Witch and White Vision from WandaVision. Recently, a Ms. Marvel figure was revealed to be part of Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Infinity Ultron BAF wave, which also includes Kate Bishop, Clint Barton, Moon Knight, and Mr. Knight from other MCU Disney+ series.
The Agent Jimmy Woo action figure is now available for pre-order ahead of a March 2023 release date.
A major talking point coming out of Thor: Love and Thunder was the surprise cameo in the film’s first post-credits scene. In it, actor Brett Goldstein was revealed to have been cast as Zeus’s son, Hercules.
Goldstein is well-liked for his role as Roy Kent in the acclaimed Ted Lasso series. His brief appearance in the credits of the fourth Thor film was likewise well-received by general audiences. In an interview with The Playlist, Goldstein opened up about his feelings about fans’ positive reactions. He stated:
It would be a real bummer if people weren’t interested. Of course, I care. I have to say I was surprised and delighted, as in it seemed to get a real positive response. And that, it’s amazing. I just, I’m not in charge of what they’re doing or what they want to do. And in a way, that was an experience that I hadn’t had for a long time, where I had no involvement in the behind-the-scenes of it. Look, you’re in f**king good hands. They make really good shit. You know what I mean? And Taika Waititi’s fucking brilliant, so it was like, ‘I’m in the best hands possible.’ But, it’s amazing. Who knows if anything will come of it, who knows, but it was a fun thing to do, and I’m pleased that people seem to have enjoyed it… I’m going to eat 30 chickens a day from now on; it will be fine.
Brett Goldstein
While there is no official news on how Goldstein or Hercules will contribute to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future, there is little doubt that Marvel Studios has plans for the character after the exciting cameo and reveal. Still, the actor stated that “who knows if anything will come of it,” which will continue to stir up rumors about where Hercules might appear next. Goldstein, like many actors and creators in the MCU, may very well be completely in the dark just like the rest of the world. Or, perhaps the actor has already mastered Marvel Studios’ secrecy in interviews.
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently playing in theaters.
While Thor: Love and Thunderrevealed several storylines that could be further explored in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one was particularly on display in the film’s first tag. In it, Ted Lasso standout actor Brett Goldstein appeared teasingly as the Greek God and son of Zeus, Hercules. In an interview with The Playlist, the actor opened up about how his casting was almost as much of a surprise to him as his reveal was for the audience:
“No, I didn’t know what it was for. I was told that some Marvel people would like to have a Zoom with you, and I met with them, and it was just so surreal because…it was literally out of the blue one night, and I was very busy, and it was like, ‘Can you make time for a Zoom?’ ‘Yes, sure.’ And they go on Zoom, and they just told me what you see in the film, which is the sort of opened with, ‘So Russell Crowe is Zeus,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, OK, go on.’ And blah, blah, blah. And then they turn around, and they reveal, ‘It’s Hercules; it’s you.’ And I went, ‘What?’ Just like, ‘Are you serious? Are you f**king with me? Is this a wind-up?’ So yeah, it was as surprising to me as I think it has been to other people.”
Brett Goldstein
Goldstein went on to reveal that he had to shoot his cameo two weeks after he was offered the part. While that could certainly be a rush for anyone, the actor was particularly concerned about how little time he had to get in shape for the role of a Greek God. He said:
“…when I spoke to Taika, I said, ‘You know I’m basically like a skinny comedian?’ I said, ‘When is this filming?’ It was like in two weeks, and I was like, ‘I mean, I’ll do my best, but two weeks feels …’ I said, ‘He doesn’t have to be as big as Thor, does he?’ And look, on the day, I mean, I’m doing 400 pushups that day. I was fit to explode. I did the best I could on that day, yeah.”

After the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony decided to release an extended cut of the film in theaters nearly nine months after the original film debuted in December of 2021. Spider-Man: No Way Home “The More Fun Stuff Version” is expected to add about 15 minutes of footage to the original 148-minute cut. It is not clear what exactly will be added in the extended cut, but the theatrical release is scheduled to swing into theaters on September 2, 2022.
While it was previously announced that tickets for “The More Fun Stuff Version” would go on sale today, August 9, many would-be ticket holders were confused when they were unable to purchase any tickets. Luckily, it does not appear that the release date for the extended cut has moved, but Fandango’s Erik Davis confirmed in a tweet that ticket sales have indeed been delayed. Unfortunately, however, there does not seem to be a known date on which the tickets will actually go on sale:
UPDATE: Many of you are asking me about this today, so I looked into it. #SpiderManNoWayHome – "The More Fun Stuff Version" is still coming Labor Day weekend, but the tix on sale date has shifted. Once we know when tix will go on sale, you all will be the first to know! https://t.co/US1wuxuC3d
Considering the release of “The More Fun Stuff Version” is mere weeks away, presumably, ticket sales will be re-announced relatively soon. Given Sony’s recent record with poorly re-releasing its films with Morbius, the success or lack thereof of the release of No Way Home’s extended cut—with the original film already available on digital—will be significant for the studio.
Spider-Man: No Way Home “The More Fun Stuff Version” is set to release in theaters on September 2, 2022.
Ms. Marvel captured the attention of fans and critics during its six-week run on Disney+. The series, starring Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan is now one of the highest-rated projects in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. While we know that Ms. Marvel will appear next in the upcoming The Marvels, the show’s success begs the question of whether Kamala will end up with a second season or solo feature.
There are plenty of reasons why Season 2 of Ms. Marvel could be in the cards for Phase 5 or 6 in the MCU. Unsurprisingly, series directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have been questioned numerous times about the possibility. In an interview with IGN, Fallah remarked that “there’s much more we can do with Kamala Khan,” including further exploring and growing her powers. El Ardi added an additional, and potentially exciting, comment:
“[Ms. Marvel] has that big dog. If there’s another season or a movie, the big dog is going to have to be a big character in it.”
Adil El Arbi
El Arbi is referring to Lockjaw, a massive dog and loyal companion to the Inhuman royal family with the power of inter-dimensional teleportation. The idea of Lockjaw appearing in future Ms. Marvel solo projects is interesting on multiple levels. First, of course, it adds to the question of whether Inhumans exist in the current MCU and Kamala’s connection to them. This traditional aspect of the comic book character was seemingly changed when the series finale indicated that Kamala was a mutant. Second, Lockjaw has already made a live-action appearance in the greater Marvel Universe in Marvel TV’s infamous Inhumans. Like Blackbolt in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Lockjaw could appear as a multiversal variant of his Inhumans version.
In any event, Ms. Marvel’s directors and showrunners seem keen on ideas for a second season of the series. In Ms. Marvel comics, Lockjaw was a frequent ally and companion to Kamala, sent by the Inhuman royal family to watch over her.
Avengers: Secret Wars gets its name from two major Marvel Comics events—Secret Wars (1984) and Secret Wars (2015). Both share some similar elements, such as Beyonder(s) and the creation of a Battleworld, and Marvel may very well take elements of both of these events to craft the 5th and 6th Avengers movies. Still, considering the 2015 event was prefaced on the destruction and ultimate revival of the multiverse, it does not take a scholar to guess that the 2015 event and the events leading up to it will be an extremely heavy influence on Secret Wars.
Earlier this year, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness actually gave us potentially the first direct reference to a Secret Wars (2015)-inspired event. While before the Illuminati, Reed Richards told our 616 universe Doctor Strange about the phenomena called incursions, where universes get destroyed when colliding with one another. A simplified summary of the igniting event before 2015’s Secret Wars is the incursion of the last two surviving universes in the Marvel multiverse—Earth-616 and Earth-1610. Many are familiar with Earth-1610 as the “Ultimate” universe, as it was the subject of Marvel Comics’ imprint Ultimate Comics. Earth 1610, among many other contributions, was responsible for the introduction of Miles Morales as Spider-Man.
Part of the reason Secret Wars (2015) was as compelling and exciting as it was is due to the long-running and meticulous building of that separate universe—Earth-1610–alongside the primary Earth-616 storylines. Secret Wars (2015) writer Jonathan Hickman was the driving force behind the Avengers, New Avengers, and some Ultimate Comics, which all led into the event. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in a very different state than the comics were ahead of Secret Wars. We know that the 6th Avengers film of the same name will release in just a little over 3 years. As such, the MCU will have trouble being able to capitalize on its storytelling during those years given the limited amount of projects it can feasibly churn out in comparison to comics. Still, if the MCU wants to ensure its next major event feels and hits like the massive event it purports to be, it might take specific inspiration from the comics that inspired it.
Specifically, the MCU would benefit from having at least one universe separate from Earth-616 for audiences to be invested in. While there are bits and pieces scattered throughout the Multiverse Saga already (such as in What If… ? and Multiverse of Madness), there is no particular set of stories taking place in a dedicated separate universe yet. With two entire Phases left to go before the end of the Saga, Marvel Studios has a decent amount of time and a sufficient quantity of projects lined up to explore something akin to the Ultimate universe in live-action.
While some of the MCU’s animated projects leave the multiverse implications wide open, the MCU could boldly step into the next few years with major live-action projects that actually take place in a non-616 universe. Marvel Studios has said nothing to indicate this about any of its upcoming projects, but it would be a relatively easy and low-stakes (in the long-term) way of building up to Secret Wars and its aftermath. In the comics, the conclusion of the event saw the reconstruction of the multiverse, but it did not return to exactly how it existed before its destruction. An easy example is, again, Miles Morales. Though his home was the 1610 universe, the new multiverse saw him established as part of the main 616 universe.
The MCU would similarly have this option with any non-616 characters it established. In other words, the fact that some major characters could debut and exist outside of 616 in the coming years would not mean that our main MCU timeline would be without them in the long run. This could mean anything from the upcoming Fantastic Four, Blade, Deadpool 3, Daredevil: Born Again, or other projects could take place outside of the MCU’s Earth-616 universe fans are accustomed to. Aside from telling the Multiverse Saga story, it could also help Marvel Studios better integrate some of its newer properties from Fox or reboot Marvel TV projects into the proper MCU.
We have yet to see what the next Phases of the MCU will bring, though the Multiverse Saga would be quite bland if the multiverse did not dramatically expand story-wise ahead of its conclusion in Secret Wars. Bits and pieces of other universes will play their part, but firmly establishing major live-action storylines in another universe would heighten the overall narrative and experience for fans since we now officially know where the current saga ends. We will find out more, presumably soon, but some of the upcoming live-action projects could very well begin establishing an entirely new universe than the one the MCU has spent virtually all of its time in.
Marvel Studios did not disappoint fans with its reveals and announcements of upcoming projects at its Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con ’22. Not only did president Kevin Feige surprise the audience by revealing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4 is nearly over, but he revealed Phases 5 and 6. Perhaps the biggest news of the event was that Phases 4-6, officially named the “Multiverse Saga”, will culminate in two Avengers films in 2025 entitled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Of course, Marvel Studios and Feige are now being bombarded with questions about the MCU’s future, specifically regarding the new information given at SDCC. Feige discussed one of the MCU’s most defining elements with Comicbook.com after the panel. When asked about how Marvel Studios plans to use its projects’ famous post-credits scenes to build up to The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, Feige had this to say:
The truth is, all of the tags are never just about the future. There are tags that are eating shwarma, Captain America saying you know you gotta learn patience, sometimes, you know, you wait for something that’s not worth it. So they are always fun for us. We don’t want everything to feel the same. So some of the tags will connect and some of them won’t. Some of the films and shows will connect; some of them won’t. I think it’s just as important that we can have standalone introductory stories like Ms. Marvel, like Moon Knight, in addition to things that interconnect and build towards the larger story. A lot of what we’ve been doing has been building to this larger story, obviously with The Kang Dynasty and the Multiverse Saga, and now I think people will, I hope, come along for the ride. Both where it’s you’re on the express train to the finale, also when it’s fun, as many of our Phase 1, 2 and 3 films were.
Kevin Feige
Feige is not one to give away any major surprises or specific tidbits about upcoming post-credits scenes, but his quote seems to indicate that the MCU’s post-credits scenes will remain relatively status quo to what fans have seen thus far. With a multiverse focus, though, it would not be surprising if these scenes ultimately become extremely helpful in tying different projects, some standalone, to the overarching storyline of the Multiverse Saga.
With the return of San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios’ legendary Hall H panel was back for SDCC 2022. Back in 2019, Marvel Studios laid out the first part of the outline for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4. Now, in 2022, the mega panel closed out the day in Hall H in style with major revelations and exciting information and footage for fans. If you missed our live coverage of the event, or if you are looking for all the Marvel Studios SDCC news in one place, we’ve got you covered. This article contains a summary of the panel and hits all the newsworthy highlights.
While some wondered if Marvel Studios would truly bring major surprises to SDCC, President Kevin Feige immediately shocked fans by announcing that Phase 4 of the MCU has almost nearly already come to an end. Phase 4 officially ends with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is only months away. Phase 5, which has previously barely been discussed, is now officially set to begin with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in early 2023 and end with Thunderbolts, a newly announced title, in the summer of 2024. Not only that, but Marvel Studios released the first information about Phase 6. Phases 4 through 6 will indeed be titled, the “Multiverse Saga”, and will end in a two-part Avengers event. Check out everything—in release order—below.
Phase 4
Marvel Studios made the shocking reveal that only two projects are left in Phase 4 of the MCU. Both She-Hulk and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever revealed new posters and trailers.
She-Hulk — August 17, 2022
As the next project to be released in the MCU, it comes as no surprise that Marvel Studios spent a little time on She-Hulk. Set to debut on Disney+ on August 17, the cast of the series arrived in Hall H:

A poster and final trailer for the series dropped at SDCC, which includes training montages and 4th wall breaks. It also confirms that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will be in She-Hulk. Check it out below:

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever — November 11, 2022
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was certainly one of the most predictable inclusions in Marvel Studios’ SDCC panel considering it is the MCU’s next feature film. Still, the sequel to the Academy Award-winning Black Panther closed out the Hall H presentation. Feige was joined on stage by director Ryan Coogler and cast members Mabel Cadena, Michaela Cole, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Tenoch Huerta, Florence Kasumba, Alex Livinalli, Lupita Nyong’o, Dominique Thorne and Letitia Wright.
SDCC revealed that the series Echo will hit Disney+ in Summer 2023.
Loki Season 2 — Summer 2023
The second season of Loki is also slated for Summer 2023, though after Echo.
The Marvels — July 28, 2023
Even though Ms. Marvel just ended to critical acclaim and with a tease to the Captain Marvel sequel, no new information about The Marvels was shared. It is still scheduled for a July 28, 2023 release.
Blade — November 3, 2023
There was no additional information on the upcoming Blade film led by Mahershala Ali. But the film was given a release date of November 3, 2023.
Ironheart — Fall 2023
The Disney+ series following Riri Williams, Ironheart will release in Fall 2023.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos — Winter 2023
Following Marvel Studios’ first streaming project, WandaVision, a spinoff focusing on Kathryn Hahn’s character, Agatha Harkness, was announced. At SDCC ’22, the spinoff was given a new name and a tentative release date. Agatha: Coven of Chaos will start streaming on Disney+ in Winter 2023.
Daredevil’s solo series starring Charlie Cox in the MCU was not a major part of the SDCC panel. Still, not only did we learn that the series would be titled, Daredevil: Born Again, but it will consist of a whopping 18 episodes. It will begin streaming on Disney+ sometime in Spring 2024.
Captain America: New World Order — May 3, 2024
Marvel Studios teased a continuation of Sam Wilson’s journey as Captain America at the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier when the title card changed to Captain America and the Winder Soldier. Yet, while plans for a movie were announced shortly thereafter, Marvel Studios never confirmed the project. With the news of a director boarding Captain America 4 earlier this month, it’s not surprising that Marvel Studios has officially announced the project as part of its Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer Malcolm Spellman penned the script with Dalan Musson, a staff writer on the show. Julius Onah, who helmed The Cloverfield Paradox, is on board to direct the film. It will release May 3, 2024.
Not only did Marvel Studios surprise by announcing the entirety of Phase 5, but Kevin Feige kept going, giving audiences a look at what looks to be a massive Phase 6, beginning with Fantastic Four on November 8, 2024. Phase 6 will end in a duo of Avengers films entitled Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Phases 4 through 6 are officially coined the “Multiverse Saga”.
Fantastic Four — November 8, 2024
In 2019, Kevin Feige blew up SDCC with the announcement that Marvel Studios was set to unleash their own Fantastic Four film after acquiring the property in the merger with Fox. Jon Watts was brought on board to direct the film but recently left the project. While there’s no new director on board, the film does now have a release date.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty — May 2, 2025 Avengers: Secret Wars — November 7, 2025
Like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame did for Phase 3 and the Infinity Saga, the fifth and sixth Avengers films will close out Phase 6 and the Multiverse Saga. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars release May 2 and November 7, 2025, meaning there are only about six months between the release of the two films. Not much else is known about the two-part event, but it confirms many fans’ speculations that the current saga’s big villain would be Kang the Conquerer and end in a Secret Wars-inspired multiversal event.
During the Warner Bros. Hall H panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, DC Entertainment gave fans new footage and insight into some of its upcoming projects. Much of the presentation focused on Shazam: Fury of the Gods and Black Adam, with respective stars Zachary Levi and Dwayne Johnson in attendance. If you missed our live coverage of the event, you can catch up on the highlights of DC’s presentation here.
— Murphy's Multiverse (@MultiverseMurph) July 23, 2022
Shazam: Fury of the Gods is scheduled to hit theaters on December 21, 2022.
Black Adam
DC next dazzled the Hall H audience with its Black Adam presentation, including a dramatic entrance from star Dwayne Johnson himself. Johnson was also joined by other cast members, including Jaume Collet-Serra, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, and Quintessa Swindell.
At the Marvel Studios Animation Panel at San Diego Comic-Con, information on the awaited animated series X-Men’97 has started to be revealed. While the main X-Men team generally looks the same as the original series, a heavy-hitting supporting cast will join them.
Other names include Cable, Bishop, Forge and Morph. The X-Men will need the help as it was revealed they are set to go up against heavy hitters Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost, Callisto, Val Cooper, and Mister Sinister, who is set to be the series’ main villain.
