    DISNEY+ DAY: ‘Echo’ Solo Series Officially Announced

    Disney+ Day has finally arrived and a few weeks ahead of Marvel Studios’ next original series, Hawkeye. It’ll have an important role in the MCU, as it’ll introduce us to the character of Echo, which is played by newcomer Alaqua Cox. Not only is she an important character from Daredevil’s side of the comics, but she even was the first newly introduced character to get a spinoff on the streaming service. Disney used the chance to confirm that Cox’s character will spinoff into her own series, which had been reported earlier this year.

    DISNEY+ DAY: New Animated ‘Spider-Man’ Series

    Spider-Man is a cornerstone of the Marvel universe and has been around in almost any possible form since his original comic introduction. While we’re enjoying a renaissance of his adventures on the silver screen, it looks like he’ll also return with a new animated series. Disney+ has shared that the series will be titled Spider-Man: Freshman Year. It’s uncertain if it is part of MCU canon, or a separate franchise altogether. It may potentially take place before he meets Tony Stark and joins them in Civil War.

    It looks like the world isn’t quite done yet with Zootopia. Disney has just announced on Disney+ Day that the series is making a grand return in a couple of shorts that take place within the animal-ruled world. It’s a great way of letting these franchises live on without the need of having to spend years on an entire animated film, especially when it already has so many unique characters people have come to love. Disney+ has become the home for many iconic franchises and they are certainly banking on it.

Not only is it Ewan McGregor‘s return to the role, but we even will see Hayden Christensen return to play Darth Vader. So, we’ll explore the times that built up to when they had their final confrontation in A New Hope. Ahead of its release, Variety has dropped an image of Darth Vader facing off against Obi-Wan that’ll be featured in a sizzle reel from Disney+ Day. It’s curious it was released ahead of the teaser.

    We’ve been long waiting for an update on Star Wars upcoming Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi and it has finally arrived. Luckily, Disney+ Day is the perfect time to tease its upcoming release. It looks like he’ll have quite the hardships ahead of him, as Deadline shared a brief preview from a sizzle reel, where showrunner Deborah Chow teased Jedi hunters are on the lookout.

    Disney + Day: ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Set to Stream Next Halloween

    Nearly 30 years after the original film introduced the Sanderson sisters to the world, the Hocus Pocus sequel will finally stream on Disney Plus! As part of Disney Plus Day, it was revealed that Hocus Pocus 2, which sees Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy return in their respective roles, will stream on Disney Plus next Fall, just in time for Halloween.

    The new film will once again take place in Salem where three teens played by Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham and Belissa Escobedo find themselves at odds with the Sanderson sisters. The sequel, directed by Anne Fletcher, will also see Doug Jones return as Winifred’s zombie ex-love, Billy Butcherson.

    The retelling of Pinocchio directed by Robert Zemeckis is heading to Disney+, as they shared the full cast line-up and that it is eyeing a release for Fall 2022. Tom Hanks, Cynthia Erivo, and Luke Evans will bring some of the iconic characters to life with the help of voices provided by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keegan-Michael Key, and Lorrain Cracco.
