Season 2 of Fallout is set to pick up shortly after the events of Season 1. Per Prime Video, the new season will take audiences along for a “journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.” The series proved to be a huge hit for the streaming service when it debuted and has, to date, has amassed over 100 million viewers for its first season. In a press release, Vernon Sanders, the global head of television for Amazon MGM Studios, expressed the streaming service’s excitement about returning to the hit series for yet another season.

We are absolutely thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of ‘Fallout.’ Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved video game franchise to vivid life on Prime Video. Leaked Set Pics Provide First Look at ‘Fallout’

Production on Amazon Prime’s adaptation of the post-apocalyptic video game franchise, Fallout, is underway and if some new set photos are any indication, it’s going to at least look incredible.

A group of new set photos show an impressive fallout shelter has been constructed practically for the series. Fans of the game will certainly appreciate the attention to detail found around the set. Fallout was developed by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan with  Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serving as showrunners. Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell have been cast as series leads, which is expected to stream sometime in 2023.

First Set Video of Prime Video’s ‘Fallout’ Series Teases a Familiar Location

The last time we heard anything of the live-action adaptation of Fallout by Amazon Prime Video was back in June when they added Kyle MacLachlan to the cast. While things have gone silent, it seems that they are already setting up some iconic locations from the gaming series for the adaptation. Now, a new video has surfaced teasing the production getting ready to showcase the post-apocalypse with a rather familiar location.

The video is quite short and shared by @frankpappalardo on his TikTok account. While it doesn’t reveal much, it does give us our first look at the series take on the iconic Super Duper Mart, we also see that they are definitely sticking to the traditional dusted version of a post-apocalypse.

It’s great that they are using iconic locations, and it’ll help highlight that this is definitely a Fallout adaptation. The trouble with the amount of post-apocalypse storylines nowadays is that it’s difficult to find a concept that makes you pop. Luckily, the Fallout franchise always had a charm that was uniquely it’s own and perhaps we’ll get more teases of iconic landmarks from the various gaming entries. We still don’t know where in the United States (if at all) that’ll take place. So, future set photos could give us further hints where this entry will take place and if it’s a location familiar to fans of the gaming franchise.

  • Prime Video’s ‘Fallout’ Adaptation Adds Kyle MacLachlan to Cast

Prime Video’s ‘Fallout’ Adaptation Adds Kyle MacLachlan to Cast

Amazon Prime has released some very impressive comic book adaptions over the past few years with shows like The Boys and Invincible becoming the talk of the town. Next up, Prime seeks to venture into adapting a new medium, video games. Fallout, the post-apocalyptic set video game franchise is set to be adapted into a live-action series at the streamer, and has already begun adding some big names.

The upcoming series has added three more to its expanding cast with Twin Peaks star Kyle MacLachlan joining the cast alongside Xelia Mendes-Jones and Aaron Moten. The three join the previously announced Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell, who will play the series leads.

It’s unknown if the story will follow any of the games or take on an entirely original story in the series but it may not be a bad thing to tell an original story in such a rich world. The project could instead exist in canon alongside the games.

Filming on the series is currently set to begin at some point later this year with Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet serving as co-showrunners on the series. Todd Howard is involved with the project as well, serving as an executive producer via Bethesda Game Studios with James Altman serving alongside him via Bethesda Softworks.

  • ‘Yellowjackets’ Ella Purnell Cast as Lead in Amazon’s ‘Fallout’

‘Yellowjackets’ Ella Purnell Cast as Lead in Amazon’s ‘Fallout’

Fallout could be considered to be among one of the most popular game franchises of all time, set in the futuristic, post-apocalyptic world that never let go of the ’50s. Each game in the series has featured a different protagonist, usually survivors frozen within vaults who wake to find a whole new world before them. It seems Amazon may have found their sole survivor in Ella Purnell, who’s been cast as the lead in the streamer’s adaption.

Deadline is reporting that the star of Yellowjackets and Army of The Dead, Ella Purnell, has been cast as the lead character in their series adaption of the popular game franchise. While details of her character have yet to be confirmed, it’s believed that she will be playing the role of Jean. She is descried as a young woman with a can-do attitude who might just be keeping a dangerous secret. Plot details on the series also remain under wraps but the project added Walton Goggins to its cast just a few weeks ago, playing the role of a currently unnamed Ghoul.

The project is in development at Amazon films alongside Kilter Films, working in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. Todd Howard is involved with the project via Bethesda Game Studios with James Altman producing via Bethesda Softworks. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner will serve as showrunners on the series which is currently set to begin filming sometime this year, although there is currently no specific time frame listed.

  • Walton Goggins joins Amazon’s ‘Fallout’ Series

Walton Goggins joins Amazon’s ‘Fallout’ Series

Video game adaptions have become quite popular lately, as Sony continues its march into adapting some of its most beloved titles through Playstation Productions. Amazon is also throwing its hat into the ring with an upcoming series based on the popular Fallout franchise. The series is still in development but looks to be moving along quite well, as it has added its very first cast member.

Variety is reporting that Walton Goggins has joined the upcoming series in a lead role. It’s currently under wraps as to who Goggins is playing but sources close to Variety claim that he will be taking on a character based on the Ghouls from the games. It’s unknown if he will be playing a pre-existing character or an original but he would make a mighty fine John Hancock.

Just last month, Amazon announced that Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner were set to serve as co-showrunners on the project. The studio had also tapped Jonathan Nolan to direct the first episodes and will be serving as an executive producer alongside Lisa Joy, who is best known for her work on HBO’s Westworld. The series will be produced under Kilter Films.

Production on Fallout is set to begin sometime this year. Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman of Bethesda Softworks will serve as executive producers on the series. No release date for the project has been set just yet and no further casting details have been revealed, but this might only be the beginning of their announcements.

  • ‘Fallout’ TV Series at Amazon Nabs Director, Showrunners

‘Fallout’ TV Series at Amazon Nabs Director, Showrunners

Amazon’s adaptation of the popular videogame, Fallout, has found a director and a pair of showrunners. Per Deadline, Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) and Graham Wagner (Silicon Valley) will serve as showrunners on the television series. While Jonathan Nolan, who is producing the project alongside Lisa Joy through their banner Kilter Films, will direct the premiere episode.

It was first announced that Amazon would adapt the beloved franchise in July 2020. The project comes as part of the overall deal Nolan and Joy have through Amazon Studios. They will produce the series alongside Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. Nolan, Joy, Athena Wickham of Kilter Films, Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman of Bethesda Softworks will serve as executive producers.

Nolan, a known fan of the franchise, calls Fallout one of the best video game franchises of all time. “Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends,” he said when the adaptation was first announced. “So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”

While Nolan doesn’t do much directing, he did direct the pilot episodes of both CBS’ Person of Interest, which he helped create, and HBO’s Westworld, in which he serves as an executive producer. Nolan also directed the Season 1 finale of Westworld, as well as the Season 3 premiere. Outside of directing, Nolan has famously worked with his brother, Christopher Nolan on The Dark Knight trilogy, Interstellar, and The Prestige.

Fallout first launched in Oct. 1997. Since then, the video game franchise has continued to only grow in popularity, launching a mobile game in June 2015. Microsoft purchased Bethesda Game Studios last year, all but ensuring the Fallout franchise will continue to live on for quite some time.

As it stands, there is no release date set for the television series.
