  • Vincent D’Onofrio Wants to Return in ‘Spider-Man 4’, But Currently Has No Marvel Studios Contract

Vincent D’Onofrio Wants to Return in ‘Spider-Man 4’, But Currently Has No Marvel Studios Contract

Hawkeye reintroduced Vincent D’Onofrio‘s take on Wilson Fisk into the Marvel Cinematic universe. His return was met with a lot of praise and some uncertainty about what the future might have in store for the character, especially given the open ending of his fate at the hands of Echo. Well, it seems that D’Onofrio currently does not have a contract with Marvel Studios currently, as revealed in an interview with The Sarah O’Connell Program. He states that

I’ve been through this before with Daredevil. It’s all been very clear to them that I really want to play this part, keep playing. You know, I just hope that continues. I just started having fun with it.

    Vincent D’Onofrio

Of course, there is the chance he’s not allowed to give away if he has a contract or not given how the Disney+ series ended. It wouldn’t be too surprising that Kevin Feige and his team want to ensure that the fake-out wasn’t given away so easily, but D’Onofrio is certainly hoping to make a return, especially in the already confirmed Spider-Man 4.

All of them. I mean, it’s obvious that Punisher, Daredevil, and Spider-Man are the ones that my character is tied to in the comic books. But there’s plenty of room for others, I can just only hope that that happens. But I mean, Spider-Man definitely. I think that would be really really fun.

    Vincent D’Onofrio

A return in the fourth entry of Spider-Man would make a lot of sense after No Way Home ended on him returning to his roots. It also would work as a way to still connect to the Marvel Cinematic Universe without other heroes taking over his film. Daredevil may also become a supporting player as they take on Kingpin, whose empire may have truly only started after the events of Hawkeye. Here’s hoping we’ll find out sooner rather than later.

  • New ‘Multiverse of Madness’ Synopsis Teases a Mysterious New Adversary

New ‘Multiverse of Madness’ Synopsis Teases a Mysterious New Adversary

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is right around the corner. With a trailer already released with Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans know some details about the plot of the movie including the introduction to America Chavez, the return of the Scarlet Witch, and a sinister tone accompanying the first trailer.

Ahead of the movie’s launch on May 6, 2022, Marvel has released a new synopsis for the sequel. The synopsis teases “mystical allies, both old and new” and “mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities.” You can read the full synopsis below:

In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

While the movie is only a few short months away, much of it is still shrouded in secrecy. Several leaks have found their way online in various forms but official information has not shown us very much about the conflict or what settings we should expect outside of our MCU Earth we know and love. Considering we are now hearing that we can expect “mind-bending” realities, it feels like we are definitely in for a visual treat. Sam Raimi’s directing should do wonders for this type of story, but we will have to see in May if it pans out.

  • Tobey Maguire Reveals Why He Signed On For ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Tobey Maguire Reveals Why He Signed On For ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

After relentless speculation, the biggest rumor of Spider-Man: No Way Home was confirmed when the film was actually released last month: both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returned to reprise their roles as Peter Parker in the third installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man franchise. While Garfield has been very open regarding his return, Maguire remained quiet since No Way Home’s release.

Deadline, however, managed to get all three Spider-Men together for an interview, where Maguire finally opened up about his return. The actor explained how he came to sign on for No Way Home, and how he felt there was a “genuine intent” behind the decision to bring all three Spider-Men together on screen.

In [a conversation with producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal], the intention, the kind of love and celebration of these movies and what it meant, I think, to Amy and Kevin was apparent…And to me, when artists or, you know, people who are steering the creative process have a kind of authentic, genuine intent of celebration and love, it just was so apparent in both of them, that, I don’t know, I just wanted to join that. And I’m a big fan of Tom and those movies and Andrew. So, it was definitely intriguing, but yes, I was also going, ‘well, what are we going to do? And that was a bit mysterious.

    Tobey Maguire

Maguire is not the only Spider-Man actor to praise the others’ work with the character. Now that No Way Home is no longer a secret, we should start to learn more about the “surprise” returns of Maguire and Garfield considering Sony is eyeing an Academy Awards nomination for Best Picture for the film.

  • Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Believe ‘No Way Home’ Would Have Been Great Without Them

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Believe ‘No Way Home’ Would Have Been Great Without Them

What used to feel like a never-ending rumor was finally confirmed when Spider-Man: No Way Home released in theaters last month: both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returned to reprise their roles as Peter Parker and Spider-Man in Tom Holland’s third Spider-Man outing.

While their inclusion in No Way Home is largely praised and already legendary, the two Spider-Man veterans told Deadline that they believe the film would have been successful even without their returns. Garfield stated:

I watched the movie with Tobey for the first time and I was in pieces. Like, this is a deep movie. This is a movie that is about a coming of age, an acceptance of loss, acceptance of death, taking responsibility for your gifts. I was torn open by the journey that Tom went on; it’s classic Peter Parker, but it felt totally fresh and totally reimagined. It is like, Tom’s origin story was happening in his third movie rather than his first. There’s something so profound. So the film, I feel, stands alone without me and Tobey showing up. I hope we enhance it, but I think [director] Jon Watts and Tom have made this something, actually, that is exceptionally moving, especially for young people, you know? I think it’s a beautiful film.

    Andrew Garfield

While Maguire noted how grateful he was to be a part of the experience. The actor called it “rich” and “emotional,” while agreeing with Garfield that the film still stands on its own without their inclusion. He explained:

I was just grateful every day. Really, it was such a rich experience and, as the guys have touched on, the kind of sharing of something and the brotherhood of it. It was just so rich, emotional. You know, day to day, it was just a beautiful kind of unfolding of this story and these relationships…And the way those films and characters evolved in those films are unique, and then to bring all of that together, including all of our supervillains and all of that, it was pretty wild to witness the immensity of all of this history coming together and being put into what Andrew was saying is this standalone, worthwhile story.

    Tobey Maguire

At this point, it is hard to imagine what No Way Home would have been without the boundary-breaking multiversal returns of Maguire’s and Garfield’s characters. We can expect to hear more about the movie and the actors’ roles in it considering Sony is eyeing an Academy Awards nomination for Best Picture for the film.

For now, fans can watch Spider-Man: No Way Home in theaters, where it continues to smash box office expectations on nearly a daily basis.

  • Tobey Maguire is Responsible for the Spider-Men Reunion in ‘No Way Home’

Tobey Maguire is Responsible for the Spider-Men Reunion in ‘No Way Home’

Long before Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters, there were plenty of rumors regarding those who would be involved in the project. One of those names tossed around was Spider-Man actor, Tobey Maguire. Rumors suggested the actor would be a cameo of sorts in the latest Spider-Man movie, but Maguire remained quiet, leaving many to believe the reports were inaccurate. Then rumors hit stating The Amazing Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield would be returning, too, and unlike Maguire, the actor had no problem addressing the rumors.

While Garfield consistently lied to the press and fans about not appearing in No Way Home, the rumors were obviously proven to be true when No Way Home released in theaters. Now, Garfield is finally getting a chance to talk about it now that the secret is out. In a conversation with Deadline that included all three Spider-Men, Garfield revealed that Tobey Maguire was a major reason he signed on for the film:

Well, I was just waiting to see if Tobey was going to do it, and if Tobey was going to do it, then I was like, ‘Well, I have no choice,’ you know? I’d follow Tobey to the ends of the Earth. It was like, ‘Oh, the intention feels very pure here. It actually feels like a great creative idea and a great creative story.’ It wasn’t like they were just asking us to come and say hi and then leave again but actually have our presence being in service to Tom, being in service to Tom’s journey and where he is as Peter Parker. And I love the destiny feeling of the multiverse expanding in this film, and actually, without Tobey’s Peter and Andrew’s Peter being present for Tom’s Peter at this very moment, he may not become the Peter Parker that he’s supposed to become.

    Andrew Garfield

Now that No Way Home is no longer such a tightly-held secret by Sony and Marvel, it is likely we will get more of Maguire’s and Garfield’s thoughts on the movie in the near future. Press for the film will continue to be strong, as Sony is eyeing an Academy Awards nomination for Best Picture for No Way Home.

As it stands, Spider-Man: No Way Home is continuing to dominate the box office. Over the weekend, the superhero film hit $721 million at the domestic box office. That was enough to give it the honor of being the 4th place among the highest-grossing movies of all time. Internationally, the film is doing just as well bringing in an astounding $970.1 million overseas for a collective haul of $1.69 million as of Sunday.

  • Tom Holland Uncertain If He Will Return to Play Spider-Man

Tom Holland Uncertain If He Will Return to Play Spider-Man

After the record-breaking box-office and critical success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, lead Tom Holland has played coy on whether or not he will return as Peter Parker in a fourth installment of his Spider-Man franchise. While he has expressed his interest in continuing to play Spider-Man, the actor recently told Deadline that he simply does not know if he will return or not:

The truthful answer — and I’ve done a whole press tour where all I do is lie — the truth is, and you’re not going to like the truth, I don’t know the answer to that question. This film for me was as special as an experience could ever be. Sharing the screen with these guys. Playing Spider-Man could be quite an alienating experience because, you know, we’re the only three blokes who have done it. So to share that with [Andrew and Tobey], it’s been such a wonderful experience, of which I have such amazing memories. There’s part of me that feels like it’s the perfect time to jump off the building and swing off into the sunset and let the next lucky young kid come in to don the suit. Or I might, I don’t know, buy a new house and need a paycheck and I’ll be back.

    Tom Holland

While a fourth film is in development, as revealed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige in December, Holland insists he’s unsure of his future as the web-slinger. The Cherry actor goes on to say:

I don’t know. I don’t know. I know I love this character, and I know that I am not ready to say goodbye…But if it’s time for me to say goodbye, then I will do so proudly, knowing that I’ve achieved everything I wanted to with this character, and sharing it with these boys will be forever one of the most special experiences of my career. So, if it’s time, it’s time. If it’s not, it’s not. But at the moment, I don’t know.

    Tom Holland

Considering the enormous success of the movie, there is little reason to think that Sony wants to replace Holland in the follow-up to No Way Home. His return (or lack thereof) will likely be confirmed sooner rather than later, as Sony is ramping up press on the film in a campaign for an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.

  • Karen Gillan on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’: “It’s a Juggernaut Movie”

Karen Gillan on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’: “It’s a Juggernaut Movie”

In 2014, James Gunn introduced the Guardians of the Galaxy to the MCU. In the years since, the ragtag bunch of losers who were, at the time, unknown to all but the most hardcore of comic book readers, have become household names and among the most beloved characters in the MCU. Gunn and the cast are now deep into production on the third volume of their story, one that Gunn has called the last go around for this version of the team, and the film is set to hit theaters in May of 2023.

Chief among the characters that Gunn brought into the public eye through the films is Nebula, played by Karen Gillan. Over the course of the two Guardians’ films and Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, the character has gradually grown into a bigger role as Gillan has grown into a bigger star. Gillan’s latest film, a sci-fi movie about clones titled Dual, premiered last week at Sundance. During a recent AMA with Dual co-star Aaron Paul, Gillan talked about what it’s like working with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.

It’s a juggernaut movie, right? Like all the Marvel films are but what James Gunn brings to it is this real indie spirit. Like it doesn’t necessarily feel like…like you’re not so aware that you’re making a giant movie. It’s like…it fells as loose and free and as flexible as an indie can feel sometimes. And he always directs with a microphone. And so you’re always just getting like this booming voice from God, essentially. He’s like, “Do it again. Do it like this.” And then he throws out lines that aren’t even in the script. And you know, “Call him this. Do this.” And then you literally hear him laughing over the microphone, which is also maybe the best feeling ever, too. Your like, “Yes, I made him laugh.”

There is no doubt that Gunn will look to tell a monster of a story in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as not only is it the last go around for the characters that he’s spent the better part of a decade developing, but also potentially his last time in a director’s chair for Marvel Studios as he looks to work more closely with DC. Given the quality of Gunn’s two most recent superhero projects, The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, MCU fans could be in for something very special.

  • New ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Merch Features All Three Spider-Men

New ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Merch Features All Three Spider-Men

It looks like it took some time until we finally got some merchandise featuring all three Spider-Men from Spider-Man: No Way Home. It’s been dominating the box office since its December release, but Sony wanted to keep it a secret for long as possible. Luckily, the wait is over, as new merchandise has found its way online featuring Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland‘s take on the characters finally united. The first t-shirt replicates the iconic “I love you guys!” moment from the finale.

    Spider-Man trio t-shirt

Always wanted socks featuring each Spider-Man’s iconic logo in addition to the numbering they are given in the film’s finale as Peter 1, Peter 2, and Peter 3.

    Spider-Man socks

There’s also a great one featuring everyone’s iconic design with the statement that “The Multiverse is Real!” Doctor Strange certainly isn’t going to be happy about that aspect once his film releases in May of this year.

    Multiverse t-shirt

Probably a personal favorite is an overlay of all three Spider-Man logos, which ironically had a fake leak around a month before it’s release, as the discussions surrounding their arrival in the project was at its peak without a confirmation.

    Stacked Spider-Man shirt

The new merchandise showcased on the Marvel site includes quite a bit more, as the various villains also got their own focus, such as some new logos designed inspired by Electro, Green Goblin, and Dock Ock. There are some great designs and Marvel is certainly banking on some of the iconic moments from the film. We’ll see if this is just the beginning of their merchanidse roll-out as they milk this cash cow as much as they can.

  • Sam Raimi Reveals Status of ‘Doctor Strange’s Production and What It’s Like to Work With Marvel Studios

Sam Raimi Reveals Status of ‘Doctor Strange’s Production and What It’s Like to Work With Marvel Studios

The man who helped begin the superhero movie craze is back, and he’s ready to talk about working with the machine keeping his trend alive. In a recent interview with Variety, acclaimed director Sam Raimi discussed the current status of the latest Marvel project and what it was like to develop a film alongside Kevin Feige and the folks at Marvel Studios. The filmmaker has been hard at work on the highly-anticipated sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for a long time now, and had this to say when asked if filming was yet to be completed:

I wish I knew the answer to that question. I think we’re done, but we just cut everything. We’re just starting to test the picture and we’ll find out if there’s anything that’s got to be picked up. If something’s unclear or another improvement I can make in this short amount of time left, I’ll do it. One thing I know about the Marvel team is they won’t stop. They’ll keep pushing it until it’s as close to being great as it could be.

    Sam Raimi

He continued to put an emphasis on just how great his experience with the cultural juggernaut has been:

Marvel’s been a great team to work with. I think that was a not-surprising surprise. I’ve been super-supported by the whole Marvel operations, starting at the top with Kevin Feige, and working all the way down to the crews that they work with. [They’re] super professional and have supported me every step of the way.

    Sam Raimi

These comments should be thrilling for fans who were afraid Raimi, noted for his signature style, would be creatively stifled by Marvel. His last outing with a comic book hero, 2007’s Spider-Man 3, was famously affected by studio mandates and interference. Here’s hoping the future is brighter for the fan-favorite maestro.

  • Sam Raimi Shares His Thoughts on ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Sam Raimi Shares His Thoughts on ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Tobey Maguire‘s return as Spider-Man in No Way Home was one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood. Yet, the moment he returned still became a big moment for anyone visiting a cinema, as the film became the first one to become a massive hit while others struggled during the pandemic. What makes his return so interesting is that the director of the original trilogy, Sam Raimi, also is returning to the Marvel universe with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

So, the director is slowly preparing to discuss his latest film and In an interview with Variety, he was asked about his thoughts on Spider-Man: No Way Home. He shared his thoughts on the film and also the delight of seeing the actors return to the roles he once cast them in. It looks like he had quite enjoyed the film and the fun of seeing those familiar faces return.

It was so much fun. I love ‘No Way Home’ and the audience I was with went crazy. It was delightful to watch Alfred play his role, and Willem Dafoe, just seeing these guys take it to the next level. And Tobey was awesome as always. The best word I can say is it was refreshing for me.

    Sam Raimi

It must be a strange feeling to see elements of your own story make a return on the silver screen. The film managed to find a good balance of continuing their original stories and even trying to redeem them, which becomes a core narrative for Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker. There’s a sense of irony that a Spider-Man film would also be the set-up for his newest entry in the Marvel universe.
