It looks like they are ready to venture out into the vastness of space with a brand new game in the Star Trek franchise titled Star Trek: Resurgence. Test trailer even includes the return of Spock and hints at it’s place in the franchise’s timeline.

After a long break, the Game Awards has unveiled that the sequel is finally arriving in a new generation of gaming with a great-looking trailer. As a big fan of the original, this is quite a surprise as it seemed like a sequel that would never happen.
We’ve been teased quite a bit about Rocksteady’s return to the DC universe and it looks like we finally got our first look at gameplay for Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League. The group of four Arkham inmates is about to take on the most troublesome mission they’ve ever had, as Brainiac took over the minds of our favorite heroes. Harley Quinn, Killer Shark, Captain Boomeragin, and Deadshot take on a horde of enemies in this new gameplay trailer.
After being teased for quite some time, it looks like they’ve finally shared a new look at the upcoming Lord of the Rings spinoff game focused on Gollum. The sneaky adventure has been offered through glimpses throughout the years, but we still have no release date ore ven full gameplay on the game. Here’s hoping the wait isn’t much longer.
The first Sonic the Hedgehog film has caught many by surprise as it brought the classic franchise to life. The sequel is set to add a new layer with Idris Elba voicing Knuckles and Tails making his live-action debut. The Game Awards finally gave us a new trailer for the game and our first official look at their take on Knuckles.
Remedy is tackling their first survival horror game with the sequel to Alan Wake. While the first was teased as closer to an action game, they want to embrace the horror and psychological elements in this new entry which is eyeing a release in 2023. the first visuals look quite promising and it might finally fill that Silent Hill itch that many have been having.
It looks like Warner Bros. has finally realized the potential they have with Wonder Woman, as she is finally getting her own game, which was a surprise drop during the Game Awards. While we didn’t see any gameplay, the fact they are working on it is a big victory for many fans of the character. Monolith is working on the game.
It looks like a new Star Wars game set in the High Republic era has been unveiled, as the Game Awares and Lucasfilm surprised visitors with the first CGI trailer for Star Wars: Eclipse that looks quite impressive. The game is in development by Quantic Dreams and looks very promising.
Halo has been going through quite a revival, as not only has the Halo: Infinite multiplayer been welcomed with open arms but its campaign was added recently. Entertainment Weekly used the opportunity to also share a new look at Pablo Schreiber‘s upcoming take of the franchise’s protagonist, Master Chief. The production was hit hard by the pandemic, as they had to take a six-month hiatus during its filming in Budapest. Luckily, after a long wait, we’ll finally see what a live-action take on the franchise might look like and Master Chief’s design looks quite fateful to the games.
The actor has described the role as “a herculean task” and what it meant to bring the character to life for the now Paramount+ original series. It’s planned to finally release later this year. In a recent interview he highlighted the weight that was on their shoulders for tackling this project:
It’s a huge job, from setting the tone on set down to the grueling task of waking up at the crack of dawn to work out, then go to shoot, and go home to work out some more. Nothing about it is easy, and I wouldn’t want it to be.
He promises that the series will “crack the veneer” to bring the iconic video game franchise to life, especially with how most adaptations face some issues in translating into other mediums. It’s an exciting prospect and here’s hoping it can live up to the weight of the original.
