    Here’s what you need to know:

    • The 2022 NFL Schedule Release showcased an intriguing season opener between the Super Bowl champion Rams and the Buffalo Bills and a “grab your popcorn” worthy game in Russell Wilson returning to Seattle for Monday Night Football. The full slate of games for all 32 teams this season can be found here.
    • Jerry Jeudy was released on bond Friday morning following his Thursday arrest. Additionally, the woman involved in the case has asked for the case to be dismissed. More details about the case are expected when Jeudy returns to court on May 31.
    • Earlier this week, the Mayor of Dallas proposed the idea of an expansion team saying that he believed the city could sustain both teams better than L.A. or N.Y.. Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson, Frank Schwab and Eric Edholm explained how that would likely never happen.
    • Finally, your Key Signings Roundup: Former Browns Wide Receiver Jarvis Landry has found a new home with the Saints. Landry posted a video to his social media on Friday with the caption “WHO DAT”. Another trade happened this week as Raiders Wide Receiver Bryan Edwards was sent to the Wide Receiver needy Falcons.

    Here’s what you need to know:

    • According to the Arapahoe Sheriff’s Office, Jerry Jeudy has been arrested on charges of 2nd degree criminal tampering with a domestic violence enhancer.The Broncos are aware of the situation and are gathering more evidence.
    • We’ve been waiting all day for Sunday Night! Maria Taylor will officially take over for Mike Tirico as host of Football Night in America. Maria’s promotion comes on the heels of Tirico’s move to full time play-by-play announcer.
    • Our condolences go out to the family of Patriots Hall of Famer Gino Cappelletti, as he has passed away at 89. Cappelletti was heavily involved with the Patriots as a player, coach and broadcaster. For more details, click here.
    • Finally, we leave you with our Key Signings RoundUp: Jaguars rookie Travon Walker has signed his contract. Contract details stipulate that Walker will make $37.4M, including a $24.4M signing bonus. The Atlanta Falcons also announced a rookie contract signing, late Thursday. Wide Receiver Drake London signed an (estimated) $24.66M deal. Not a signing, but a trade was made yesterday as the New England Patriots sent QB Jarrett Stidham (and a 7th round pick) to the Las Vegas Raiders for a 6th round pick.

    Here’s what you need to know:

    • The NFL will come bearing gifts of good cheer tonight with the release of the 2022 schedule. You can expect marquee matchups, rivalries and even former flames reunited. (Hello, Mike McCarthy at Green Bay in Week 10) For a preview of some great games to watch, check out the list Nick Shook, of Around The NFL, put together.
    • If you’re wondering what sort of impact the top draftees from the 2022 NFL Draft could have on your team, former NFL personnel executive Mark Ross has plenty to say around rookies he thinks are in a position to succeed. He shares his thoughts here.
    • Last, but not least, we’ve got your Key Signings Roundup: It seems the Bears have moved quickly to replace Nick Foles who asked to be released last week. They have picked up journeyman Nathan Peterman on a 1-year deal. In other news, the Bills are signing veteran Jerry Hughes to firm up their pass rush.

    2nd Year Breakout: I’m probably going to sound like a homer, but I’m banging the table for Kwity Paye of the Indianapolis Colts. After being sidelined with a hamstring injury and an ankle injury early, the lights “came on” for Kwity in the second half of the season. He had 4 sacks and was extremely disruptive behind Deforrest Buckner with 10 QB Hits. It seems others noticed Kwity as well, landing him on the 2021 PFWA All-Rookie Team. If he can stay healthy, look for him to light it up.

    Team: The Jets have long since been a team that most fans don’t take serious since the infamous “butt fumble”, but I’m banging the table for them to make a huge jump in 2022. I love what Joe Douglas has done. I think he knows that they had to put some talent around Zach Wilson. He went out and got some shiny new “toys” in Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall and Jeremy Ruckert to pair with Elijah Moore (who is criminally underrated), Michael Carter, C.J. Uzomah, Braxton Berrios, and Denzel Mims. There’s a youth movement happening at Florham Park. My bold prediction for the Jets is that they will have their first winning season since 2015.

    2nd Year Breakout: Meg went the homer route, and I thank her for that because it made me not want to do that. I’m going the less obvious route and putting all my chips on the table for Travis Etienne. Now, I know what you’re thinking: he was hurt last year, so even 2 yards is an improvement over zero. I don’t disagree, but I’m going even further than marginal improvements: Travis Etienne will win the rushing title in 2022. Doug Pederson knows QBs, and the Jaguars have added Christian Kirk, Brandon Scherff, and Evan Engram to an offense that didn’t have a lot of talent. Etienne will be the beneficiary of a better Trevor Lawrence in year 2.

    Team: this isn’t just because Meg is my partner in print, but I’m going all in on her team: the Indianapolis Colts will win the AFC South. The Texans kind of stink, though they did have a really good draft. The Titans will take a step back until Malik Willis takes Ryan Tannehill’s job. And the aforementioned Jaguars will be better, but, good God, that defense is awful. Enter the rock-steady Colts, with a very good defense, the 2nd best RB in football, and a huge improvement at QB with the acquisition of Matt Ryan. Frank Reich is going to have his boys ready to play, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see them add Odell Beckham, Jr. to their WR room. This is as well-coached a team as there is in the NFL, with a GM not afraid to make the big move, and I think they make the playoffs and win the division.

    Welcome to another edition of The Morning After Huddle where we we bring you the top news from around the NFL. They say that legends never die and apparently, neither does the career of one Thomas Edward Patrick Brady,Jr.

    Here’s what you need to know:

    • Tom Brady simply can’t ride off into sunset, much to the dismay of several fanbases. He will be diagnosing defenses and coverages for the foreseeable future. Word broke today that Fox Sports has given the Bucs QB a whopping 10-year $375 million contract immediately following his playing career. (So, in another 20 years) If his rings weren’t going to keep him warm in retirement, the money surely will!
    • Speaking of money, Giants rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux is paying $50K for Graham Gano’s number 5 jersey. Normally, rookies are advised not to spend their money before ever playing a down of football, but, in this case, the money is going towards a great cause: Puppies Behind Bars. The charity provides service dogs for wounded war veterans and first responders, in addition to explosive-detection canines for law enforcement.
    • Finally, the Jags are still dealing with the aftermath of Urban Meyer. Today, former Jags Kicker Josh Lambo has sued the organization to recoup his $3.5 million base salary in 2021 and emotional distress. Lambo says he was physically and verbally abused by Meyer and claims that the team violated the Florida Private Sector Whistleblower’s Act.

    The Morning After Huddle: May 10, 2022 Edition

    This morning after huddle is brought to you by yours truly, as I pinch hit for the real Megatron, Meg Hall. The news is really schedule-focused, as we are barreling towards the complete NFL schedule release on Saturday. Let’s dive right in, unlike Cam Newton on the fumble in the Super Bowl versus Denver.

    • The NFL announced that the Super Bowl champion Rams and Russell Wilson’s Denver Broncos will headline the Christmas Day slate. A matchup this late in the season should have playoff implications for both teams, and you get a marquee QB matchup with star power on both sides.
    • Speaking of the Rams, they lost some RB depth yesterday. Ian Rapaport reported that Sony Michel has joined Mike McDaniel’s Miami Dolphins, where he will presumably back up free agent addition Chase Edmonds. Michel is coming off a season where he rushed for 845 yards and 4 TDs filling in for Cam Akers.
    • Speaking of the schedule, the NFL also announced their week 2 Monday Night Football doubleheader: they will open with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will take on the great mentor that is Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee Titans, and it will be followed by Kirk Cousins and the Vikings taking on an Eagles team who had one of the better drafts.
    • Now that the NFL Draft is in the clear, teams have started to finalize cuts that were rumored all offseason. One such cut is CB James Bradberry, who was one of Dave Gettleman’s expensive signings as General Manager of the New York Giants. The Giants released him yesterday, saving $10.1M (leaving a dead money hit of $11.7M, yikes!) and thus being able to sign their rookies. The Giants will enter training camp, barring any additional moves, with Adoree Jackson as their best cornerback in a system that relies heavily on corners being left on an island.
    • Lastly, Aidan Hutchinson has agreed to his rookie deal with the Detroit Lions. Due to the rookie scale, we’ve seen less holdouts than in years past, with a majority of them coming from offset language. It’s a great look for the Lions, still building their identity, to get their top pick signed and ready for camp.

    Welcome to another edition of The Morning After Huddle where we we bring you the top news from around the NFL. You might want to buckle up for today’s edition because we’re taking a trip across the pond.

    Here’s what you need to know:

    • The NFL announced a slew of games in international locations, including the first ever regular season game in Munich, Germany. The game is setting up to be a showdown between Tom Brady and the Bucs and the Seattle Seahawks during what could be Brady’s farewell tour.
    • It’s never too early to get a head start on the 2023 NFL Draft Class, which promises to not only be robust, but deep at the QB position. Senior NFL Reporter, Albert Breer, takes a first look at who could potentially be the number one pick.
    • Speaking of QB’s, the Steelers, Lions, Eagles, and Falcons have all had recent conversations about what their futures will look like. It remains to be seen what the long term answer is for each team.

    Player: As a Colts fan, it pains me to say this, but I’m banging the table for rookie Titans CB Roger McCreary. He is a STUD and if not for height, Roger likely would’ve been a first round pick. He should thrive as a slot corner. #WarEagle

    Team: The Baltimore Ravens had a sneaky good draft. They were able to get great talent and not reach for players. They added quality depth and potential starters at several positions (Kyle Hamilton, David Ojabo, and Jaylyn Amour-Davis for example). Hats off to Eric Decosta and the front office staff.

    Dalbin Osorio

    Player: Meg went with someone from her own team, so I’ll mirror that and pick Jets rookie RB Breece Hall. Connor Rogers of Badlands compared the 2nd round pick to former Saints RB Deuce McCallister, and the measurables all line up. To run a 4.39 40 at 6’2″ is absurd, and he gives the Jets their first homerun threat out of the backfield since Chris Ivory. He’s my pick for offensive rookie of the year.

    Team: The Philadelphia Eagles did absolute work in this draft. Not only did they make good use of their capital by acquiring a 2023 first round pick in a draft with better QBs than this one, but they also were able to acquire stud WR AJ Brown and they also added Georgia Bulldog leader Nakobe Dean. We don’t know if Jalen Hurts is the answer, but with a good OL, two top-end WRs, one of the better TEs in the sport, and a potent running game? We’re about to find out. If not, the Eagles have the ammo to go get their guy next season.

    Here’s what you need to know:

    • Ryan Tannehill found himself making headlines, Tuesday, during a team presser. The Titans QB made it clear he didn’t know about the move to draft Malik Willis and was quoted as saying, “I don’t think it’s my job to mentor [Malik Willis], but if he learns from me along the way then that’s a great thing.”
    • The first two pre-season games of the fall will look a bit different this year as the NFL has approved a measure for players to wear a Guardian Cap. The NFL’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Allen Sills, spoke with NFL Network about what this means for players.
    • Finally, NFL offseason program dates have been announced and several teams have rookie mini-camps this weekend. (Full Details)

    Welcome to the first edition of The Morning After Huddle, your daily round-up of the top news from around the NFL. Every morning you expect an overview from our staff of what you need to know to stay plugged in.

    Here’s what you need to know for today:

    • The 2022 NFL Draft happened over the weekend and there was no shortage of surprises. Thursday night, we saw A.J. Brown moving on to the Eagles and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown moving to the Cardinals. (For more on those stories, read here.)
    • Although many predicted Malik Willis to be a first round draft pick, he ultimately fell to third round where he was selected by the Tennessee Titans. Titans General Manager Jon Robinson mentioned “He was a player who was just kind of staring at us there, and we were excited when we were able to get up and get him and not get jumped if somebody was coming up.”
    • Baker Mayfield remains on the roster of the Cleveland Browns. The Carolina Panthers seemed to be working on a deal for the Browns QB, but instead opted to draft Matt Corral in the third round when talks stalled.
    • In other news, Kevin Colbert, GM of the Pittsburgh Steelers, has stepped down after more than 20 years with the team.
