New Concept Art Reveals Scrapped and Gory Deaths in ‘Doctor Strange 2’

A Brand new concept art from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has caused quite a stir among fans. The artwork reveals an intense, graphic scene that wasn’t in the final cut of the film, as it showcases the death of our beloved Wong with his brain scattered on the ground. That is not all, as it also includes Mordo with a huge scratch mark on his face after fighting Scarlet Witch.

The level of detail in the concept art is sure to leave a lasting impression and has fans speculating about what the movie would have looked like if this stayed as part of the original vision. This new piece provides a glimpse into the intense world of Doctor Strange and certainly leaves us wondering what mature Marvel films will be able to offer to viewers in the future.

The head from Mordo is actually part of a deleted sequence that would’ve featured the Scarlet Witch decapitating the 616 version of the character as her way to intimidate Strange. It definitely would’ve made for an interesting way to set up the character but also would limit the use of Mordo in future projects as a result.

It’s definitely interesting to see just how much Multiverse of Madness has changed since its original vision. We don’t know if the decapitation was part of Scott Derrickson’s original take on the character or if this is more in line with Sam Raimi‘s usual gory take on horror. It’s not uncommon for early versions of the scripts and artwork to push the boundary as much as possible, but it makes you wonder what didn’t make it past the brainstorming stage.

  • RUMOR: Wong Might Get His Own Disney+ Spinoff Inspired by ‘Strange Academy’

RUMOR: Wong Might Get His Own Disney+ Spinoff Inspired by ‘Strange Academy’

Marvel’s rumor mill is ever changing with various ideas and projects at some point in development or another. Many things change over at Marvel Studios, which makes it often hard to truly understand what is going to happen and what isn’t early in a project’s development. sometimes it’s just throwing around an idea that could eventually blossom into an actual project.

Such might be the case with a new rumor shared on Reddit about a Strange Academy adaption, which would see Benedict Wong‘s Wong and Xochitl Gomez‘s America Chavez take on a major role of their own. In a way, this show would spin out of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where we last saw Chavez being trained in the mystic arts; a big new direction for her character compared to the comics.

They also point out that there’s a possibility elements from the upcoming Ironheart, like the character of Zelma Stanton, might have a role in this Disney+ series. They might set up elements for this show in that very series given how much it dives into the world of the supernatural and could even connect with the confirmed Agatha: Coven of Chaos series further exploring a different part o the supernatural.

Strange Academy was the Harry Potter of the Marvel Comics world, where new magic users would learn about the various gifts they were given. It would make for a great jumping-off point to introduce other minor magic users into the MCU and further explore the concept of Kamar-Taj beyond the little glimpses we get in the Doctor Strange films. Of course, it’ll remain a rumor until further confirmation.

  • ‘She-Hulk’ Actress Teases Wong’s Unorthodox New Friend

‘She-Hulk’ Actress Teases Wong’s Unorthodox New Friend

We all knew that Wong is making his return in the upcoming She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series. We don’t know exactly how he’ll fit into the greater narrative, or if he’ll simply have a case that needs to be solved by Jennifer Walters. Either way, it does seem like one thing will change for the Sorcerer Supreme, he’s going to make a rather unorthodox friend in the upcoming series.

As revealed during the Disney+ series’ premiere, actress Patty Guggenheim revealed that she is playing a character named Madisynn, who was recently hinted at in a promo for the She-Hulk series. She reveals that her character and Wong will become friends in a way and she eve calls him “Wongers” throughout their time together.

It definitely sounds like Wong won’t have it easy in the upcoming series, especially if she is involved with whatever case he gets dragged into. It’s funny to see someone who has become the Sorcerer Supreme that has to deal with things beyond the usual world-ending threats. It’ll be interesting to see how his story plays out when the Disney+ series releases later this week.

Tatiana Maslany will lead a new cast of characters that’ll offer a more legal look at the world that Marvel Studios has built since 2008 with the first Iron Man. It’ll be interesting to see how they set-up this part of the MCU and how it might even expand beyond what we know so far.

  • Benedict Wong Down for a ‘Doctor Strange’ Disney+ Spinoff Series With Jacob Batalon

Benedict Wong Down for a ‘Doctor Strange’ Disney+ Spinoff Series With Jacob Batalon

Disney+ has become the best place for Marvel Studios to put the focus on characters that usually only end up on the sidelines. It looks like some actors are down to explore their characters further in a spinoff series, such as a recent reveal by Benedict Wong. You’d think that the Sorcerer Supreme, as revealed in Spider-Man: No Way Home to be Wong, would deserve his own series. In an interview with Fade to Black Podcast, he agreed with that sentiment when asked if he’d be down for his own Disney+ spinoff.

Well look, hey, I’ll just have to wait for the Wong-tourage to kind of make the placards, they’re rioting in the streets now. Hey, what do we say? It would be wonderful, wouldn’t it? I’d certainly be up for it, definitely. Where’d we go with that? We could go anywhere. So far, we always have Wong go through a portal and we don’t know what happened for the last 5 years so maybe there’s a [story] in it. Yeah, like a 5-year series. And some, they [Marvel Studios] do it so well.

    Benedict Wong

He even goes on to pitch what he’d love to explore as a potential sorcerer and apprentice storyline. He highlights Ned as his potential padawan, who also revealed he had some magic in his bloodline when he summoned portals to help his friend in his battle against some multiversal foes.

I’d quite like the idea of the sorcerer and the apprentice with Ned as my apprentice. Obviously, he’s got a few of the old portal skills.

    Benedict Wong

It would be a fun idea, especially as Ned set out to MIT. Him combining both worlds as a reluctant Wong takes him under his wing would be a fun comedy series. It could also pay tribute to the many apprentice-focused storylines we’ve seen in the past. Of course, it all depends on what Wong’s fate will end up being once Multiverse of Madness rolls around. Once it releases, we’ll know more.
