‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’: The Truth Of It All

The landscape in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has shifted after the fifth Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode titled “Truth” was released. The stakes have been raised, and the pieces on the board get set up for the finale. So, let’s take a closer look at where our protagonists are.

    Sam Wilson

Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson Trends After The Falcon And The Winter Soldier's Episode 5

The journey for Sam has been about realizing why Steve Rogers gave him the shield. Through it all, Bucky questioned him, and he got confronted by John Walker. It got exacerbated by Walker’s actions in which he tainted the shield with blood. It was time to get it back. There was more to the lesson. His world view is similar to Barack Obama‘s when he said: “Yes we can.” He believes in his way of not only fighting but figuring things out. More importantly, he believes that there’s a better way to do so. It wasn’t until he speaks to Isaiah Bradley that the truth and the context push him forward. Isaiah is steadfast in his belief that:

They will never let a Black man be Captain America. And even if they did, no self-respecting Black man would ever wanna be.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Wer ist Isaiah Bradley?

The heartbreaking tale of Bradley’s past would’ve deterred most men and maybe it should have, but Sam thought otherwise. He empathized with what he went through but understood that by avoiding the reality of things, he wouldn’t be able to make a change.

But what would be the point of all the pain and sacrifice, if I wasn’t willing to stand up and keep fighting?

It was time for Sam to become Captain America. He had to live his truth beyond what Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, or Isaiah Bradley thought. As Sam gets ready to take flight with an assist from Wakandan technology, he’s finally in a position to take on Karli and the Flag-Smashers. This time, he’ll do it his way on his terms.

    Bucky Barnes

Sebastian Stan Hasn't Heard About Falcon & Winter Soldier Season 2

Bucky has had to come to grips with his reality. Steve Rogers is no longer there to be his crutch to lean on. He’s not aimless, but he’s struggling to find his place in the world. Sam confronted him with the cold-heart truth to stop depending on others. Ultimately we’ve seen Bucky start to make his own decisions to varying results.

The moment he freed Zemo to locate the super-soldier serum as a means to an end ended up as a betrayal. Ayo and Wakanda took care of Bucky at a very vulnerable time in his life. He’ll have to live with that decision. There’s still a part of him that believes it was the right movie. It’s why, even though Zemo gets taken into custody, Bucky’s path is more open-ended than Sam’s. There’s a chance that these two will eventually cross paths again. It feels like those two are destined to work together in some capacity.

Finally, Bucky learned a bit about accountability. There was the ignorance that he had towards Sam’s plight and the complexity of becoming Captain America. There’s also the idea that just because you’re trying to make amends doesn’t mean you’re making them. As Sam advises: “Start with one.” We can surmise that in the finale, Bucky may try to give some closure to Yori. As Bucky promises to help Sam with Karli, we also know there’s always a bit of Winter Soldier inside of him.

    John Walker

Falcon and Winter Soldier: John Walker's Fall Mirrors Steve Rogers Killing Baron Blood

John Walker started the season as the face of propaganda. Now he’s the symbolism of Captain America’s values. They’re tainted, like the blood on the shield. After losing the fight to Bucky and Sam, John immediately got shunned. He loses his rank, title, and pension. The same government who trotted him out as the savior has discarded him like trash.

After he met with the senate, what perhaps could be an important nod to his future, Walker is greeted by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus) or “Val” for short. She offers him not only sympathy for what he’s done but a role in the future. In the comics, she’s known for a spell as Madame Hydra. In this iteration, she could be the Fury for a team of villains. So, we might finally get the Thunderbolts in the MCU. One has to think Walker will take her call.

Walker’s dishonorable discharge also led to him lying to Lemar’s parents about getting revenge for their son. His lying dishonors Lemar’s legacy and continues his denial of truth. Walker isn’t down for the count, as we see him mid-credits creating his shield. It looks like John is going to be an agent of chaos.

All roads lead toward Karli and the Flag Smashers in the finale. One can only wonder how our main characters handle their new personas as they try to live their truth.

  • ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’: John Walker Comes Undone

‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’: John Walker Comes Undone

In the second episode of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Lemar Hoskins chats with John Walker. They discuss the weight of taking on the mantle of Captain America. It is the first time we get a feeling of the pressure on Walker’s shoulders. It is a brief look into his humanity before he wears the legacy left behind by Steve Rogers. The most poignant line spoken was when Lemar pointed out his war buddy:

You can’t just punch your way out of problems anymore, you know?

How different that line hits now. As the whole world is watching, John forgets Lemar’s lesson in a blind rage. He’s caught on camera brutally killing a member of the Flag-Smashers. John Walker was trying so hard to be like Steve Rogers that he ended up becoming something else entirely.

Who are John Walker, Falcon and the new Captain America from the Winter Soldier you already hate? | The Bharat Express News

When we think about who Steve Rogers is and why he got idolized so much, we’re always presented with his unwavering penchant to do the right thing. He’s willing to give up his life to save Bucky from Hydra. It’s the willingness to make sure not only Hydra but S.H.I.E.L.D. all goes down. It never mattered about how he was perceived or the narrative. As Dr. Erskine points out in Captain America: The First Avenger, there was an important reason why he got the serum, to begin with:

Bad becomes worse. This is why you were chosen. Because a strong man, who has known power all his life, will lose respect for that power. But a weak man knows the value of strength and knows compassion.

Walker is a classic strong man who has known power all his life. MIT even studied his body. So, of course, the government saw him as the perfect replacement for Steve Rogers. It is that perception that John not only feeds into but allows to consume him. It’s the way his insecurities come into play when Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes don’t want to work with him. You feel the need to prove something to himself and the world that Steve never exhibited.

Is Zemo God Or Bad In The Falcon And The Winter Soldier?

Absolute power corrupts absolutely is the saying, and John Walker taking the serum is the culmination of letting perception be his guide. The embarrassment of being soundly defeated by the Dora Milaje was the point that his inner demons took over. It echoed the words spoken by Zemo in a conversation with Sam, as they discussed if he would ever take the serum if he had the choice.

The desire to become a superhuman cannot be separated from supremacist ideals. Anyone with that serum is inherently on that path.

In a way, one could downplay the events. John was taking vengeance for the death of his best friend. Yet, he was headed down this road long before. It was just an accelerant. His thirst for power, which is unchecked, was always leading him down this path. The idea that Walker decided to escalate a situation that Sam was trying to deescalate. It is something that Steve Rogers would never do. Captain America: Civil War echoes the importance of these events. In a fight for his life, Steve could’ve killed Tony Stark, who was in a rage after finding out Bucky was behind his parent’s death. Steve had gotten the better of the fight and finished Tony by slamming the shield into his arc reactor. However, he never went through with it. John was not in the same scenario, but there was a choice. His anger overtook him as he killed Nico.

How Powerful John Walker Is As Captain America With The Serum

The episode ends with John holding a bloody shield after he showed the world his true colors. Lemar prophetically says when John asks about taking the serum. John asks the questions that Steve always had the answer to. Captain America was never about the shield but the person behind it. John Walker wanted to be Steve Rogers so desperately that he becomes something darker and uncompromising. His actions have left their mark on the symbol that once had the weight of the world on it.

  • ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’: Zemo Did It Again

‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’: Zemo Did It Again

Nowadays, a good television show is not always defined by its main characters. Sometimes as a supporting act, one character can change the game. Baron Zemo strolled into the third episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has given the show a jolt of swag. Once again, Zemo gets what he wants without having to get physical with an Avenger. Sam and Bucky need him. Plus, Barnes is desperate to atone for his prior sins that he breaks Zemo out. This episode is Daniel Brühl shooting from half-court like he’s Steph Curry.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Actor Daniel Bruhl Teases Zemo's MCU Return - ComictaQ

As they’re going to Madripoor, we get a call back to Captain America Winter Soldier, when Sam and Zemo are ribbing Bucky for not liking the Troubleman soundtrack. We get the iconic line from the Baron that even Sam ends up agreeing to:

It’s a masterpiece, James. Complete. Comprehensive. It captures the African American experience.

Even in an episode filled to the brim with action and Sharon Carter’s return, Zemo was the main event. He revealed himself to be a Baron embracing his comic origins. We even see him don the purple mask that the iconic villain wore in the comics. Not just that, Zemo is rich with a collection of classic cars and a private plane. We get a hilarious scene of him dancing in the club like no one is watching. We have to say that it is villainy you have to respect. There is no doubt that he’ll betray Sam and Bucky, and we cannot wait to see it happen.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' Episode 3 Review - Baron Zemo Rising | DiscussingFilm

Later, as the crew catches up to Wilfred Nagel, who is the creator of the new super-soldier serum, we know Zemo will probably try and kill the scientist. Zemo still hates the idea of powered individuals. True to form, the Baron shoots Nagel after the mad scientist reveals his work. Even with that happening, our heroes have no time to reprimand Zemo as bounty hunters from all over are coming for them. He provides the shots to get the squad free and the getaway car to freedom. His appearance gets summed up by the end of the episode, as Ayo of the Dora Milaje reveals she is here for him.

Baron Zemo provides both humor and zest. One can only wonder how much chaos Zemo will cause going forward. It opens up some questions regarding the next three episodes:

    • When is John Walker going to snap? We only briefly see John and Lemar hot on the tail of the Flag Smashers. The new Captain America gets all hot and bothered when he didn’t get answers. That dark turn is coming soon.
    • Is Sharon working for someone? Sharon has another agenda going on as she speaks to someone on the phone regarding Sam and Bucky. Is she involved with the power broker, or is she the power broker? One has to wonder.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Zemo's Mask References Classic Marvel Villain

    • Did Karli Morgenthau just break bad? There was a sense earlier that Karli & co. were freedom fighters with a worthy cause. After their actions in episode three of blowing up and killing guards, how far are they willing to go to achieve their goal?
    • What is Zemo’s master plan? He states that he is looking forward to coming face-to-face with Karli. One has to assume Zemo wants all of these super soldiers dead. How does he get that job done? The Machiavellian Baron has to be up to no good for anyone involved but his ends.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's Baron Zemo is Marvel's Next Meme Machine

    • Is Sam going to get a better handle on things? This episode felt like more of a backseat for Sam, literally. He drank some snake guts and dressed like a pimp. So, let us hope he has some more substantial scenes and moments next week.
  • The Show Is ‘Invincible’

    The Show Is ‘Invincible’

I had no prior knowledge of Invincible as a comic, so when I see that Robert Kirkman’s creation had come to life I was intrigued. We all know about the notoriety of The Walking Dead, so I was curious seeing the trailer for this. What I found in the first three episodes was an animation style that undersold how gripping and brutally violent this show is.

Before we get to that we have to talk about the voice cast. The title character played by Steven Yeun has such a bubbly hopefulness that will get tested in so many ways. His father Omni-Man (JK Simmons) isn’t new to this, he’s true to this, or is he? Throughout the pilot, he’s presented as this regal hero and caring father until a stunning plot twist (for those who haven’t read the comic) that is jarring visually. Sandra Oh’s Debbie Grayson, who plays wife and mother to both Nolan and Mark Grayson carries the heart of the show as the human in this powered family.

The dedication to the idea of a father/son tandem having powers is really well stated here. The training scenes don’t feel wasted and they have some fun added to them. Seeing Mark stumble around fighting his very first villain was hilarious in its simplicity.

Some of the show’s best moments are when Mark is with The Teen Team fighting aliens on repeat. They have to defeat them in multiple ways which is really fun. The villains don’t feel as easily dispatched as we’ve gotten used to in some mediums. The Teen Team consists of Robot (Zachary Quinto), Atom-Eve (Gillian Jacobs), Rex-Splode (Jason Mantzoukas), and Dupli-Kate (Melise). They all have quite the personality quirks.

I also am digging the shadowy element of Walton Goggins’ Cecil Steadman as he tries to figure out who’s done the dastardly deed at the end of episode one. There’s nothing like a mysterious government organization that’s there without actually being there.

Make sure you watch this show without your kids. Do not let the animation fool you, this show is incredibly graphic. It’s graphic in a way that left my mouth agape. Keep the kiddies away at all costs.

It most certainly helped that I went into this show with no expectations as the first three installments were really good stories. I have a lot of questions about character motivations going forward but in a good way. The nuances in how they balance between action and story are what will make this show great.

This is a different form of comic book animation as the episode lengths are about 42-48 minutes. This allows time for complete story arcs to build especially with such an abundance of characters. You can make the argument that there are too many characters, but so far it isn’t an impediment. The stories of the Graysons, especially Nolan’s dark side alone are enough reasons to come back for more. Invincible’s first three episodes are available for streaming on Amazon Prime, with new episodes airing every Friday.

Falcon And The Winter Soldier Episode 2 Recap

The second episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is a tale of regret and ignorance. On many levels, our characters are running from something. The reality is they all have to confront some harsh truths. So, let’s not waste any time and dive right in and look at the major player’s individual journeys throughout the episode:

    John Walker’s Close Up

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 2 Recap: A New Captain America, and Flag Smashers | NDTV Gadgets 360

With John Walker as the new Cap, he soaks it all in on the football field. He is visited by, who we must assume is his wife and his friend Lemar Hoskins. We later even get a callout to his comic book name, Battlestar. Walker gets introduced to the crowd and gets a Good Morning America interview. Later, John and Lemar hack Redwing to follow Sam and Bucky to fight the Flag Smashers. After losing the skirmish, John tries to appeal to the duo to work together.

Bucky doesn’t take kindly to John at all. His efforts get rebuffed. When Bucky ends up arrested, John bails him out, as he considers him an asset. He once again appeals to Sam and Bucky about working together to no avail. This rejection angers Walker. He warns the two to “stay the hell out of his way.” John Walker seems like the guy who got one promotion and is now calling all the shots. He’s a good soldier, but is he a good man?

Karli Morgenthau and The Flag Smashers

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 2 Recap: A New Captain America, and Flag Smashers | NDTV Gadgets 360

The Flag Smashers are busy moving a bunch of crates around. We learn that they are moving chemicals around. It could connect to the Power Broker and their abilities. After their confrontation with our favorite duo and the new Captain America, they stop at a safe house. Karli gets a text implying that they stole something from the Power Broker, and he is deadset on retrieving it. This sequence makes it clear that she is their leader. As they get ready to fly off to their presumed next attack, they get unexpected visitors. It’s the Power Broker’s men. One of the Smashers sacrifices their life to let the rest escape. We still don’t know who the man in the shadows is, but whoever it is means business.

    Sam and Bucky Get Reacquainted

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 2 – What Did You Think?!

After Walker’s announcement as Cap, Sam and Torres go off to confront the Flag Smashers. Bucky arrives and complains to Sam about giving up the shield. In Germany, they start learning to work together again. Their encounter with Karli and her team leads to Redwing getting destroyed and their egos hurt. While they’re flying back to the States, Bucky reveals that there’s another super-soldier.

The duo arrives in Baltimore to talk to Isaiah Bradley, the Black Captain America. They’re greeted by what we assume is his grandson, Eli. Isaiah is irritated at Bucky’s appearance and is shaken by remembering what happened in his past. He was sent behind enemy lines to fight Bucky.

You know what they did to me for being a hero? They put my ass in jail for 30 years. People running tests, taking my blood, coming into my cell.

Bradley painfully says as he angrily shows a bit of that super soldier strength. A powerful scene from Carl Lumbly. He chases both of them out shortly after.

Understandably Sam is angry upon learning this information now. Bucky reveals that Steve Rogers didn’t know about this either. As this is happening, the cops pull up. They first assume it’s an altercation and ask for Sam’s ID, cue racial profiling. They then both realize that Sam is the Falcon. Unfortunately, Bucky gets arrested as he missed his court-mandated therapy sessions.

    Unlikely Therapy Sessions

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' Episode 2 Instant Reactions - The Ringer

At the jail, Dr. Raynor appears and holds an impromptu therapy session with the duo. Bucky reveals his aggravation with Sam stems from Sam giving up the shield willingly, claiming that “If he was wrong about you, then maybe he was wrong about me.” Bucky has a ton on his head and heart here. Unshaken, Sam says that he thought this was the right thing to do. The two agree to work together until the problem is solved.

As the episode ends, they decide to visit Zemo in prison, as he may know more about the serum and HYDRA secrets. With this cliffhanger, let’s ask five questions for next week’s episode:

    1. Did the Flag Smashers steal the super soldier serum from the Power Broker, or is he trying to steal it from them? I think the former.
    2. Who’s the Power Broker? Whoever this person is they’re not playing games as they’re hot on the Flag Smashers tail.
    3. We got to know John Walker in a way that wasn’t overt but is there something darker about who he is? We will find out soon enough.
    4. Isaiah Bradley didn’t take too kindly to Bucky and Sam showing up. He figures to be a meaningful part of the series, will he be the motivation Sam needs to be the Captain America we know he can be?
    5. We will finally see Zemo next week. Do we think Sam and Bucky break him out of prison? If so that could cause problems for everybody.

We’re through the first act, and we’ll see how the Falcon and The Winter Soldier continue to lay out their story next week.

  • ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ Review

    ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ Review

After years on end of a vociferous campaign for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the movie has arrived. After Joss Whedon’s Justice League in 2017 missed the mark in so many ways we were given four hours of content to dine on. The verdict? It’s a mixed bag.

On one hand, we got the backstories of the Flash and Cyborg, two of three characters hastily introduced in Batman vs Superman. Ray Fisher’s Victor Stone is a standout in the film, ironically being the moral center of the group. Ezra Miller still doesn’t hit as the Flash, as he comes off more annoying than funny. Also, there’s a legitimate question; why does the Flash run like he’s ice skating? It’s an eyesore throughout the film. The third of those characters is Aquaman, whose personality from his solo film is not present here at all. He’s very drab and dark just as the tone of the movie itself.

The action in the movie certainly had its fun moments with said Flash running back in time. The visuals there were impressive. In addition, the Mother Box keep-away scene with the Amazons that shined in 2017 was added upon with fun detail. There were also some low points that cannot be ignored.

For whatever reason, Zack Snyder relies on slow motion for a good portion of their action scenes. Sure it’s fine in doses, but when you’re over-saturating every single fight with slow-moving frames it defeats the purpose. The music in addition to all these scenes was unnecessary. You want to feel every punch and kick, but I just felt a random rock song or Wonder Woman’s score.

From a positive standpoint, the movie did not feel long in the three installments I watched it. Of course, there’s exposition, but never to the point where the movie dragged. That was a pleasant surprise. Another pleasant surprise was the addition of the Martian Manhunter. Even in limited scenes those felt like the Justice League we know and love.

Steppenwolf is still a weak villain with an overall empty story, but the inclusion of Darkseid and Desaad was a needed touch. There’s always a need to over-critique the villain but here it applies. They could’ve used someone or something else.

Watching this movie immediately gives two thoughts. The first is it is unfortunate that the 2017 version was a thing that happened. To each their own but it’s an irritant that they allowed that movie to be released. With studio and life circumstances taken into account, this movie should’ve been in this form.

The second thought is I don’t need to see more of this Justice League. Some liked the Knightmare timeline, I thought it didn’t fit. Sure a rogue Superman is quite a sight, but I was satisfied with what I had watched to that point. Yes, #RestoreTheSnyder verse is catching steam, and I’m glad Snyder got to let his work speak for itself. If it’s all the same to you, I think it’s time to move on.

The transition from Man Of Steel to Batman vs. Superman turned this all into a plan that was destined to fail before it even got started. Just imagine a world where a solo Batman movie’s events led to the end of the Man Of Steel? It allows more wriggle room and more time to get to know and care about these characters.

One thing that I hope Warner Bros. learns from this whole ordeal is that building characters and stories take time. Not everything needs to be connected and intricate. A good standalone story can carry weight and give memories for a lifetime. The fans will watch regardless, but they’ll appreciate a great story.

  • Sam Wilson: The Story So Far

Sam Wilson: The Story So Far

As WandaVision has concluded, we quickly transition to this week’s premiere of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier series on Disney+. There’s no time like the present to catch up with the characters that we’ve come to know and love (or even hate). The upcoming series has an extensive cast returning and continuing their stories in the series. Today, we’ll explore the history of the only MCU character who probably gets a neck spasm because he’s always looking to his left, Sam Wilson. It’s time to catch up to the Falcon’s story.

Sam Wilson’s MCU journey begins right at the outset of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Sam meets Steve Rogers as they’re both going through a jog in Washington, D.C., which leads to the iconic “on your left” line. They become fast friends as Sam empathizes with Steve’s history as a soldier, as Sam himself was a veteran of the United States Air Force Pararescueman. He served tours in overseas military actions, and he was selected to test a prototype military wingsuit with his friend Riley, who tragically perished during combat. Later, as Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff are on the run from Hydra, Sam lends his help along with the suit. He then decides to join Cap on his mission to find his old friend.

Marvel, Treat Sam Wilson as an Important Character and Hero | The Mary Sue

In Avengers Age Of Ultron, Sam returns in a brief cameo as he attends an Avengers party in celebration of retrieving Loki’s scepter from Hydra. They briefly discuss the search of Barnes. It isn’t until the end that he officially joins the superhero team. He does make a brief appearance in Ant-Man, where he fights Scott Long. By the end of the film, we find out through Luis that Sam is looking for Scott.

We next see him in action alongside the other Avengers, as they are taking down Crossbones. After tragedy strikes and the Sokovia Accords are set into motion, Wilson joins Rogers’s firm stance against them. Once Bucky is suspected of bombing and killing T’Chaka, they track him down as multiple confrontations ensue. Eventually, all three of them get arrested along with the Black Panther, T’Challa. Even after Zemo releases Sam doesn’t trust Bucky but continues showing loyalty to Steve. Sam suggests to Steve that he should recruit Scott Lang to help them out. Wilson takes part in the battle at the Berlin airport. After the fight, he ends up getting arrested. When Tony Stark arrives at the Raft to find out Rogers’s whereabouts, he reluctantly tells him their location.

Marvel Studios Reshoots Are 'Key' Part of Success, Feige Claims

After Steve breaks out his friends, we see them return in Avengers: Infinity War. Wilson is part of the group that rescues Wanda Maximoff and Vision from Thanos’ children. They return to the Avengers base for the first time in two years, where they finally get to reunite with James Rhodes. Next, he ends up in Wakanda, where he takes part in the battle against Thanos’ army. Even as he does his best, Thanos snaps his fingers, and he gets dusted alongside the rest of them. He doesn’t return until Avengers: Endgame. After dropping an iconic line, Falcon joins the rematch with the Mad Titan. He attends Tony’s funeral and is there when Rogers brings the Infinity Stones back to when they got them.

That isn’t the end of his story so far, as he meets an older version of Steve, who lived out his life with Peggy Carter. With it, he passes on the torch of Captain America to his good friend. We’re left with Sam Wilson holding the shield as his story continues when The Falcon and The Winter Soldier premieres on March 19th on Disney+.

  • Sharon Carter: The Story So Far

Sharon Carter: The Story So Far

Now that WandaVision has ended, we already have our eyes on the next Marvel Cinematic Universe entry on Disney+, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier. It also means that it is time to retrace the character’s steps, which will take center stage in the upcoming series. Today we will be looking at Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter, who we haven’t seen since Captain America: Civil War. So, it’s going to be quite the treat to see her back in action after almost five years. Let’s take a look back at her journey within the MCU.

We were first introduced to her in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as an agent of the spy organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. She goes undercover to protect Steve Rogers before blowing her cover after Nick Fury gets shot by the Winter Soldier. It is the moment we hear her codename Agent 13 for the first time. Once HYDRA reveals its true identity of infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D., she plays a pivotal role in saving various agents. After the spy organization gets disbanded, she joins the CIA’s Joint Counter Terrorist Center. It isn’t until her next appearance in Captain America: Civil War that she reveals her relation to Steve’s old flame, Peggy Carter. Her speech also inspired him to stand his ground against the newly enacted Sokovian Accords.
