The current scale of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom’s multiversal war has officially been stamped on the theatrical calendar. According to a report published by The Hollywood Reporter, cinema chains across North America have locked in a tentative runtime for Avengers: Doomsday, while concurrently validating details for a historic, highly irregular advance ticket release structure.
The Hollywood Reporter shared that the current cut of Avengers: Doomsday carries a colossal official runtime of minutes 2 hours and 45 minutes (165 minutes). Should that hold, it would be outdone only by Avengers: Endgame‘s 3 hour and 1 minute runtime.
According to THR’s sources, because the movie is occupying a highly unique winter slot—targeting a global theatrical rollout on Friday, December 18, 2026—Disney is adjusting its standard marketing funnel. Rather than waiting for the traditional window, tickets will reportedly go on sale on July 20th, 5 months before release.
It’s unclear exactly what Marvel Studios what else fans can expect to accompany the July 20th announcement (such pre-sale launches are typically accompanied by trailer releases); however, the first look at Avengers: Doomsday has long been expected to be rolled out during the studio’s Hall H presentation at SDCC, which will take place on July 25th at 5:30 PM PT. A rumored description of the trailer recently began making the rounds, allowing for the hype train to officially get on the tracks.
