  • Disney Re-Titles ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Re-Release To Kick Off Massive Premium Large Format War

Disney Re-Titles ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Re-Release To Kick Off Massive Premium Large Format War

Ahead of its highly anticipated return to the big screen this fall, a new report published by Deadline has revealed that Disney and Marvel Studios are officially re-titling their 2019 blockbusting magnum opus to Avengers: Endgame Encore.

Slated to hit theaters on September 25, 2026, the re-release is more than just a trip down memory lane—it serves as the massive corporate launchpad for Disney’s proprietary premium large format (PLF) theatrical standard, Infinity Vision.

The upcoming re-release is explicitly designed to reward fans heading back to premium auditoriums, acting as a massive refresher before the Russo Brothers return to helm Avengers: Doomsday this December. Rather than a simple frame-for-frame re-broadcast, Endgame Encore is confirmed to feature a custom introduction from the creative team, brand-new additional footage cut back into the movie, and a special end tag explicitly teasing the upcoming multiversal stakes of Doomsday.

Disney is using the re-release to train audiences to look for a brand-new badge on movie tickets. Announced initially at CinemaCon, Infinity Vision is a new studio-backed technical certification for high-end theater screens. Much like THX or Dolby certifications, an auditorium must meet explicit Disney-mandated benchmarks to wear the label—specifically offering the region’s largest screens, advanced laser projection for maximum brightness, and fully immersive, premium surround sound configurations. In the two months since Infinity Vision was announced, exhibition demand has skyrocketed, with Deadline revealing that Disney has already received over 7,500 global applications from theater chains looking to get their auditoriums certified in time for the September 25 launch.

Because Avengers: Doomsday is releasing on December 18, 2026 alongside ultramegauber auteur Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three and arner Bros. has successfully locked down an exclusive three-week IMAX structural monopoly for the sci-fi epic, Avengers: Doomsday will have virtually zero access to traditional domestic IMAX screens during its crucial opening weeks. By creating Infinity Vision, Disney is building a backdoor network of certified PLF screens to capture premium ticket price surcharges, bypass IMAX’s limitations, and give their massive winter tentpole the largest canvas possible.

If Disney can successfully convince general moviegoers that an Infinity Vision ticket provides a better experience than standard multiplex rooms, they might just permanently change how blockbusters are exhibited—proving that even without IMAX, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes can still control the grandest scale of cinema.

  • ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 Set Photos Reveal a Major Defenders-Verse Character’s Return to Hell’s Kitchen

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 Set Photos Reveal a Major Defenders-Verse Character’s Return to Hell’s Kitchen

Not even Daredevil and Defenders star Elodie Yung was sure what ultimate fate befell Elektra Natchios following her appearances in Netflix’s Defenders-verse series…now it seems she–and everyone else is about to find out.

With Kingpin in exile and Matt Murdock behind bars, the return of Elektra in Marvel Studios Daredevil: Born Again seemed inevitable and now, set photos have confirmed that the former leader of the Hand will indeed factor into Season 3. Photos and videos from the New York City set of the series have provided the first look at Yung‘s return to Hell’s Kitchen.

Seen wielding her trademaek sais and sporting a new costume reminiscent of the character’s look from Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto acclaimed Daredevil run, Elektra was caught heading into an entrance to an unknown location the same night a bloodied Wilson Fisk makes his return to New York.

After dying in the Daredevil Season 2 finale, Elektra’s corpse was placed in a resurrection chamber by the Hand. She is brought back as an empty vessel with no memories of her past life. The Hand’s leadership, led by Alexandra Reid, trained Elektra to be their ultimate weapon. However, as Elektra interacted with Matt Murdock, her past memories began to return. She turned on her captors, killing Stick and Alexandra to assert her own independence.

Seeking to use the Hand’s secrets of immortality, Elektra attempted to force Matt to leave Hell’s Kitchen with her. During the final battle of The Defenders, Elektra and Matt fought beneath Midland Circle but when explosives were detonated to destroy the dragon bones underneath, the building collapsed, leaving both trapped in the rubble. While Matt managed to survive, Elektra’s fate was left ambiguous…until now.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is expected to stream on D+ in March 2027.

  • Warner Bros. Debuts ‘Batman: Knightfall’ Trailer; Re-tools Event Into R-Rated Animated Trilogy

Gotham City is about to witness its darkest hour in a completely uncompromised format. Warner Bros. Animation has officially unmasked the first trailer for Batman: Knightfall – Part 1: Knightfall, transforming the legendary 90s comic arc into a bloody, R-rated three-part animated event.

When the project originally surfaced in late 2025, production registries tracked the adaptation as a four-part framework. However, DC’s official festival rollout has confirmed a massive creative consolidation. Re-engineered as a definitive animated trilogy, Part 1 focuses squarely on Bane orchestrating a massive Arkham breakout to systematically exhaust Robert Pattinson-era grit before physically breaking the Dark Knight.

This R-rated event serves as a brilliant piece of counter-programming for DC Studios. With James WatkinsClayface horror movie landing this October, Matt ReevesThe Batman-Part II on the 2027 horizon, and The Brave and the Bold anchoring the mainline DCU, Warner Bros. is proving they view Batman as a multi-continuity engine. Animation allows them to deliver pure, comic-accurate fanservice without the high-stakes financial pressure of a $200 million live-action opening weekend.

Rather than stretching the iconic “Breaking of the Bat” arc over four loose entries, compressing the narrative into a tightly paced, R-rated trilogy gives it some more weight. The R-rating proves DC Animation is actively taking off the kid gloves to deliver the visceral, bloody stakes the source material demands.

  • Tom Holland Reveals Main Villain of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Has Not Leaked Yet

Tom Holland Reveals Main Villain of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Has Not Leaked Yet

Just when you thought the web was fully unraveled, Tom Holland has dropped a bomb on our narrative expectations. Speaking at a high-profile press event in Berlin, the Spidey star confirmed that the true main antagonist of Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains completely hidden from the public eye.

The main villain has not been leaked yet,” Holland shared with a grin, completely fracturing the current scooper consensus. “It’s still very much a secret.”  If heavy hitters like Scorpion and Tombstone are merely secondary obstacles or physical muscle, it means the ultimate architect behind Peter’s street-level nightmare is operating completely in the shadows.

Holland confirming that the real antagonist is still completely hidden suggests Destin Daniel Cretton is running a massive misdirection campaign—fueling heavy industry whispers that the plot is masking a psychological shape-shifter or a deeply embedded mastermind like The Chameleon or Dr. Miles Warren.

Of course, it’s possible that Holland is simply attempting to divert attention away from Sadie Sink‘s character, who the trailer presents as an incredibly powerful telepath and who has repeatedly been reported to be Jean Grey.

Holland is a master of the promotional cycle, and dropping this baseline confirmation right as ticket pre-sales cross historic thresholds is brilliant demographic management. It shifts Brand New Day away from a standard, predictable Sinister Six rehash and transforms it into a high-stakes psychological mystery. If the main villain is safe from the leak trackers just five weeks out from release, Kevin Feige has successfully locked down a theater experience that will leave audiences completely blindsided on July 31.

  • Marvel Announces Savage ‘Infernal Hulk Vs.’ One-Shots in the “March to Hulk War”

Marvel Announces Savage ‘Infernal Hulk Vs.’ One-Shots in the “March to Hulk War”

The Green Goliath has been replaced by something infinitely worse, and now the entire Marvel Universe is about to suffer the consequences. Following an official announcement on Marvel.com on June 18, 2026, writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist Nic Klein’s acclaimed, horror-drenched saga is pivoting toward its final act with a brutal four-issue series of Infernal Hulk Vs. one-shots.

Kicking off on September 9, 2026, the March to Hulk War will feature the devastating, systematic defeat of Marvel’s greatest heroes as the demon-possessed behemoth prepares to tear reality apart in early 2027.

The narrative picks up directly from the core Infernal Hulk title, where the ancient, primordial evil known as the Eldest has completely severed Bruce Banner from his alter-ego, taking full control of the monster’s physical form to usher in a new “Age of Monsters.”

The terror begins with Infernal Hulk Vs. Wolverine #1, featuring visceral, heavy-hitting interior artwork from Stormbreaker Jonas Scharf (Ultimate Endgame).

When the X-Men discover the location of several mutants who have been systematically abducted and horribly corrupted by the Infernal Hulk to build his dark army, Logan takes the mission personally. The deadliest X-Man sets out to free his people by the most violent means imaginable—pitting the ultimate mutant killing machine against the literal Father of Horrors.

This isn’t just a random rampage. Johnson revealed that the true purpose of these battles is for the Eldest to crush Earth’s mightiest heroes and forcibly transform them into his twisted, monstrous faction of Infernal Avengers ahead of the upcoming Hulk War crossover event.

Marvel has already mapped out the entire monthly bloodbath leading into the winter:

    • September 9, 2026: Infernal Hulk Vs. Wolverine #1 (Art by Jonas Scharf, Cover by Nic Klein)
    • October 2026: Infernal Hulk Vs. Fantastic Four #1
    • November 2026: Infernal Hulk Vs. Spider-Man #1
    • December 2026: Infernal Hulk Vs. The Avengers #1

The March to Hulk War serves as the deliberate, hard-hitting conclusion to the macro-narrative Johnson and Klein first launched way back in Incredible Hulk #1 in 2023.

Johnson has been incredibly candid about the sheer level of gore and psychological dread baked into this crossover roadmap, teasing that the creative team had explicit corporate discussions about exactly how violent they could legally go. “I want to keep ramping up the horror vibe of the Hulk series, and for our readers to see things in these one-shots they’ve never seen before,” Johnson promised.

Editor Mark Paniccia described the premiere issue as an “absolute knockout” of unrelenting action, while Johnson explicitly warned fans to brace themselves for a final page twist in the Wolverine book that he expects to completely “shock” the fandom.

For the past year, Infernal Hulk has been an absolute masterpiece of body horror and mythological dread. By spinning the title out into isolated, monthly slugfests where the Hulk actively defeats and corrupts icons like Logan, Peter Parker, and the Fantastic Four, Marvel is establishing the Eldest as an apex threat. It gives the upcoming Hulk War event a genuine sense of despair—our heroes aren’t just fighting a monster; they are fighting their own twisted, infected allies.

With a powerless Bruce Banner currently running on pure intellect to try and outmaneuver his former body, the stakes couldn’t be higher. By the time the Avengers one-shot wraps in December, the Marvel Universe will be completely defenseless, paving a flawless narrative runway for Hulk War to be a can’t miss event this January 2027.

  • Eisner Winners Reunite for Image Comics ‘The Karman Blade’

Eisner Winners Reunite for Image Comics ‘The Karman Blade’

The creative team behind the Eisner Award-winning miniseries Little Bird is reuniting this fall for a brand-new dark fantasy project. Darcy Van Poelgeest and Ian Bertram are bringing an epic, experimental new story to Image Comics with their four-issue miniseries, The Karman Blade, set to launch this September.

Set on the outskirts of a dying, desert world, The Karman Blade follows a young man chosen by a star-forged blade to slay the despotic deity, Kalu, who hoards the world’s water. The protagonist faces a daunting trial, caught between his journey and the existential question posed by the blade itself: “Are thou he, who taketh me in hand? Are thou he, who shall slay a God?”

The creators describe the series as a bold departure from traditional fantasy. “We are committed to the idea of making something that requires collaboration from the readers as much as from ourselves,” said Van Poelgeest. “The Karman Blade is for everyone who loves the questions as much as the answers; the weirdos, and the poets—for those brave enough to embark on a quest of their own!

Bertram added that the work is a product of deep creative passion, calling it a “feral work” made in a “swamp of beautiful and festering creativity.”

The Karman Blade #1 will arrive in comic book shops on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

  • Image Comics Announces ‘Crimes Against Nature’ Launching This September

Image Comics Announces ‘Crimes Against Nature’ Launching This September

Get ready for an off-the-wall new series from Image Comics. Creators Eliot Rahal (Bleed Them Dry, Cult Classic) and Mattia Monaco (Eat Your Young, Knock ‘Em Dead) are teaming up to bring us Crimes Against Nature, a neo-noir buddy-crime comedy arriving in comic shops on September 23, 2026.

Described by its creators as “Koko the gorilla meets The Usual Suspects,” the story centers on the unlikely bond between a man and his primate companion. The plot follows Hollywood animal trainer Dr. Kermit Groedan and his only client—Amigo the Ape, the first gorilla ever to be nominated for an Academy Award—as they find themselves framed for a crime they did not commit. Now on the run, the pair must confront their dark secrets and hidden pasts to clear their names and survive.

For artist Mattia Monaco, the project represents a significant return to traditional pen-and-ink illustration. “This book is about coming home,” said Monaco. “After nearly six years of working digitally, this was the first project that brought me back to pen and ink and gave me a renewed sense of freedom and experimentation on every page.”

Writer Eliot Rahal echoed the sentiment, noting the emotional weight and partnership behind the book: “Every panel and page is lightning in a bottle. It’s one of the greatest partnerships of my life. And I think all of that joy and trust spills out into our book about a guy and his gorilla.

Crimes Against Nature #1 hits shelves on September 23.

‘X-Men ’97’ Season 2 Episode Titles Tease Weapon X, Danger and the Return of a Major Character

His name is Gambit and he told you to remember it…and it sounds like he’ll be back to haunt the X-Men in the final two episodes of X-Men ’97 Season 2.

X user @hexfacilitycom has spilled the details on the release dates, episode titles and brief synopses for the new batch of episodes and they indicate that the former X-Man, who sacrificed himself in the attack on Genosha, will indeed return as a Horseman of Apocalypse in Episode 8, “Dead Man’s Hand.”

    https://x.com/i/status/2068348750548848812

The episode, which is scheduled to stream on August 5th, will see “the X-Men confront a ghost from their past.” And it seems that episode sets up the season finale in which the team’s “past comes back to haunt them.” The finale is almost certainly a reference to the fallout of time travel shenanigans in the first four episodes.

  • Leaked ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Still Reveal Best Looks Yet at the Film’s Heroes and Villain

Leaked ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Still Reveal Best Looks Yet at the Film’s Heroes and Villain

With just 6 months left until its release, the floodgates have opened to leaks for Marvel Studios Avengers: Doomsday. The newest leaks, which have slowly rolled out over the last week, have given much higher quality looks at footage from a very blurry clip that showed Steve Rogers, Thor, some X-Men, New Avengers and Mister Fantastic taking on Sentinels controlled by Doctor Doom.

While it’s smart to call into question the authenticity of these type of leaks, the background does 100% match a set photo from 2025, making it likely they’re authentic.
