While we’ve gotten quite a few set photos from Netflix’s live-action One Piece project, it took quite some time until something leaked online for Avatar: The Last Airbender. The production started last year and has been moving forward at quite the pace. And now, @AvatarNews_ has shared the first set photos with that hint at it potentially being part of the Fire Nation given the architecture and its overall design. They don’t giveaway much and sadly we don’t have a shot of any of the actors on sets in their costumes, but it’s great to finally get a glimpse what they are working on.
It’ll be interesting if more set photos find their way online that offer a closer look at what exactly they are building. The fact they have an entire section of greenscreen highlights this might be the entrance to a palace of some kind. Perhaps the green field will also be replaced, and this is the location where we meet Zuko’s Blue Spirit disguise as he helps the team.
While there are always concerns with live-action adaptations, especially with a franchise that already had a critically panned adaptation, but Netflix is dedicated to these projects. the more they attempt it, the more they learn even if not everything will blow viewers away. Gaming has been seeing an upswing in better adaptations. So, here’s hoping.
