Since debuting in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Paul Bettany‘s Vision has gone through multiple iterations while trying to ascertain just exactly what he is. Now, the next chapter of his story will undertake an evolution of its own.
According to Variety, Marvel Studios has gone back to the drawing board to some extent on the Vision-centric streaming series, bringing Star Trek: Picard’s Terry Matalas on as showrunner. With Matalas coming on board, the untitled series is now slated for release in 2026.

Matalas will take over for Jac Schaeffer who had previously been developing the WandaVision spinoff series, Vision Quest, for D+. It’s unclear just how much of Schaeffer’s work, if any, will carry over to Matalas’ project. It was recently reported that production on the series was set to get underway this Fall in the UK and with Marvel targeting a 2026 release, that still seems likely.
