  • ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Trailer Length Leaks; More Evidence Suggests Web-Head Returns Wednesday

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Trailer Length Leaks; More Evidence Suggests Web-Head Returns Wednesday

The wait is almost over. Following the launch of the official website (SpiderManBrandNewDay.movie), the digital detectives have cracked the source code, and it’s good news for Spidey fans…and a now deleted post from an official Sony distributor seems to have confirmed the release date.

As shared by Top News, a Kazakhstani distributor shares a post on Instagram that seemed to confirm the rumored March 18th release date at 7:05 AM ET. While it’s not been confirmed to be official, it certainly seems like a case where a partner jumped the gun and was forced to remove the post.

The specific runtime of 1:59 was first signaled by the insider account The Beyond Reporter. This account has gained significant traction recently for having access to the metadata of Sony’s promotional materials before they go live. According to their report, the cut being sent to theaters for the March 20 release of Project Hail Mary is a 119-second “Teaser 1.”

This 1:59 length reportedly matches the master cut of the blurry teaser that leaked back in December 2025. Many fans noted that the leaked footage felt like a complete, two-minute narrative arc. The fact that the official metadata matches that length suggests that Sony hasn’t heavily re-edited the teaser since the leak, but is instead finally ready to release the high-definition, official version.

  • Serenity Now—’Firefly’ Animated Series in Development with Nathan Fillion

If you’ve been a Browncoat for the last 24 years, you know that hope is a dangerous thing. We’ve been burned by revival rumors more times than a Reaver victim, but today, it looks like the Verse is finally calling us home. Deadline is reporting that 20th Television Animation is in early development on a Firefly animated series led by Captain Malcolm Reynolds himself!

For years, the hurdle for a Firefly revival has always been the aging cast and the massive budget required for a live-action space western. Animation solves both problems instantly. By moving to the same space that allowed X-Men ’97 be so successful, the studio can keep the original crew looking exactly as we remember them while Nathan Fillion—who has become the king of voice acting in recent years—leads the vocal booth.

The dedication of Firefly fans has kept this 25-year-old show relevant. Clearly, the return of Firefly is something the fans want. More importantly, it’s something they deserve.

    -Nathan Fillion

While Fillion is the only one officially locked in to produce and star, the report suggests that 20th Television is in active talks with the original cast members, including Morena Baccarin, Alan Tudyk and Summer Glau.

The series is set between the ending of Firefly and the 2005 film, Serenity.

  • Knowing is Half the Battle: Paramount Passes on Max Landis’ ‘G.I. Joe’ Script

If there is one franchise that Paramount has consistently struggled to calibrate, it’s G.I. Joe. After the CGI-heavy Rise of Cobra, the soft-reboot Retaliation, and the absolute non-starter that was Snake Eyes, the studio is trying a strategy that is as unconventional as it is controversial.

According to a flurry of reports from the trades, Paramount had commissioned two separate scripts for the next film in the G.I. Joe franchise. And now in their attempt to find a pulse for the Real American Heroes, it looks like one controversial path has officially been closed.

Variety is reporting that Paramount has passed on the script treatment submitted by Max Landis. This move effectively ends Landis’s potential comeback vehicle at the studio and leaves the future of the Joes in the hands of a much more fan-favorite creative.

Paramount had reportedly been employing a dual-track strategy, commissioning separate scripts from Landis and Danny McBride with the absolute asinine idea of eventually blending them into a single film. However, the studio reportedly reviewed Landis’s draft and decided not to move forward. While the studio didn’t give an official reason, the move avoids the inevitable PR nightmare that would have accompanied a Landis-led tentpole, given his history of misconduct allegations.

This leaves Danny McBride (The Righteous Gemstones) as the primary creative force on the project. Given his body of work, it is reasonable to assume that McBride’s approach may fall more more in line with what fans actually want—a version of G.I. Joe that embraces the over-the-top personality of the 80s cartoon without the soul-crushing self-seriousness of the recent reboots.

  • ‘ViSiONQUΞST’ Lands ‘The Penguin’ Composer Mick Giacchino

‘ViSiONQUΞST’ Lands ‘The Penguin’ Composer Mick Giacchino

If there’s one thing Marvel Studios has mastered lately, it’s the art of the creative upgrade. While we’re all waiting to see exactly how Paul Bettany’s White Vision finds his soul (and his sons) in the upcoming VisionQuest streaming series, the production has just locked in one of its most important voices yet.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy-winning composer Mick Giacchino has been enlisted to score the series.

The name Giacchino carries a lot of weight in the halls of Marvel and Disney. Mick is the son of legendary composer Michael Giacchino, the man responsible for the iconic scores of Doctor Strange, the studio’s Spider-Man trilogy, and Thor: Love and Thunder.

But Mick isn’t just riding on his father’s coattails. He’s been carving out his own path in the genre space. Mick just won an Emmy for his incredible, brooding work on HBO’s The Penguin. If you loved the way that score made Gotham feel like a living, breathing weight on Oz Cobb’s shoulders, you know what he brings to the table. He’s also no stranger to the Disney machine, having recently composed the score for the Amblin-esque Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

With VisionQuest set to be one of Marvel Television’s weirdest series to date–a sort of techno-philosophica journey that needs a score capable of feeling both cold and deeply alive, Mick’s penchant for quirky, neo-nostalgic themes might be the perfect fit.

This is a show about the Marvel AIs. You do get to see robot Ultron, but you see a lot of James Spader and a lot of Paul Bettany together. They are very much a core dynamic of the show.

    -Terry Matalas

This hire confirms that Marvel is treating VisionQuest as a premium event. By pairing a writer like Terry Matalas with a composer like Giacchino, they are aiming for the same prestige level that made WandaVision a cultural phenomenon. With James Spader returning as Ultron, the soundscape for this show needs to be massive, and Mick has proven he can handle the pressure of legacy characters.

  • Sony Launches ‘Brand New Day’ Website Ahead of Reported Trailer Drop

Sony Launches ‘Brand New Day’ Website Ahead of Reported Trailer Drop

If you were looking for a sign that Peter Parker’s marketing campaign is starting, Sony just gave you a neon billboard. The official website for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now live.

The site (spidermanbrandnewday.movie) includes a theatrical release date of July 31, 2026, and a contest page that ends its first entry window next week. This historically lines up with a “Monday Morning” trailer drop, though reports and rumors point toward a Wednesday, March 18th release.

Sony is following the No Way Home playbook—keep the site empty, build the hype through leaks, and then drop a trailer that breaks the internet. With the website live, the rumors of a March trailer are now a countdown.

  • Front Runner Reportedly Emerges for Key Role in ‘Man of Tomorrow’

Front Runner Reportedly Emerges for Key Role in ‘Man of Tomorrow’

The casting carousel for James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow has begun spinning and is gaining momentum. Fresh on the heels of the confirmation that Aaron Pierre had joined the cast of the Superman sequel as John Stewart, a front-runner for the film’s secondary antagonist has emerged.

In January, Nexus Point News revealed  that the “warrior-like” female role being cast was indeed Maxima and not Wonder Woman. With that revelation, the question shifted from who the character is to who is playing her. Today, a new name has surfaced in the rumor mill.

According to several social media influencer types and scoopers, Eva De Dominici (The Cleaning Lady) is among those DC Studios’ top dog James Gunn is interested in for the role of the Warrior Queen.

According to a report from TopNewsPrime that’s gaining traction across the trades, the Argentinian actress is currently in talks to take on the role of the Queen of Almerac. While it’s still firmly in the  rumor category, the timing aligns perfectly with the production schedule as Gunn prepares to head to Atlanta this April.

Casting Maxima isn’t just about the Superman sequel. In the comics, the character eventually finds a home on the Justice League. By bringing in an actress like De Dominici now, Gunn is likely planting seeds for a future ensemble film, building out a roster of heavy hitters that can stand alongside David Corenswet‘s Kal-El, Aaron Pierre’s recently confirmed John Stewart and the rest of the DCU’s Justice Gang.

  • Marvel’s “Oscars Reunion” Is a Stealth ‘Doomsday’ Marketing Blitz

Marvel’s “Oscars Reunion” Is a Stealth ‘Doomsday’ Marketing Blitz

Don’t let the tuxedos fool you—Sunday night at the Oscars is the first unofficial press stop for Avengers: Doomsday.

The Academy has confirmed a Marvel reunion for the March 15 Oscars. Pedro Pascal, Gwyneth Paltrow (will she know if she was in a movie with any of these folks?), Lewis Pullman, Channing Tatum and, most importantly, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans are all presenting together.

As cool as it might be, this isn’t just a tribute; it’s a soft-launch for the full-scale marketing of Avengers: Doomsday. With Evans and RDJ on stage together for the first time in years, Marvel has an opportunity to lean into the Steve vs. Doom hype that they simply cannot pass up.

Rumors are swirling that we might get a surprise drop during the ceremony—specifically, the first footage of Doom and Cap face-to-face. Even if we don’t get a trailer, the optics of  Doom standing next to Steve Rogers is the most powerful marketing image Marvel could ask for. By putting RDJ and Evans center stage, they’re reminding the world that the heart of the MCU is back.

  • ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Trailer Rumors Hit Fever Pitch

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Trailer Rumors Hit Fever Pitch

If you’ve been refreshing your feed waiting for Tom Holland to suit back up, you might want to clear your schedule for next week. While Sony and Marvel have been playing their cards closer to the vest than usual, the rumor mill for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has stopped spinning and landed on a date.

According to several reliable corners of the internet—including the incredibly accurate Cryptic4KQual—the first official trailer for the fourth Holland-led Spidey flick is slated to drop on Wednesday, March 18.

With a locked-in release date of July 31 just over four months away, fans are rabidly anticipating a first-look teaser. Marvel and Sony traditionally kick off the 100-day marketing sprint around this time, and with the Brand New Day subtitle signaling a fresh start for Peter Parker after the multiversal madness of No Way Home, first time franchise director Destin Daniel Cretton has taken the opportunity to put together a completely different take on the Wall-Crawler…and maybe get a hint or two about the identity of Sadie Sink‘s mysterious character.

Fans were disappointed when Marvel skipped a trailer drop during the 2026 Super Bowl, but the consensus is that Sony wanted a standalone window to dominate the conversation without competing with the big game’s noise. And with the studio’s Project Hail Mary set to dominate the box office, pairing the teaser with that film will ensure it meets plenty of eyeballs.

  • Aaron Pierre Officially Joins ‘Man of Tomorrow’

Aaron Pierre Officially Joins ‘Man of Tomorrow’

The “Lanterns” news cycle just shifted from small-screen detective work to full-blown cinematic event. While Aaron Pierre‘s John Stewart  has been rumored to be headed to the big screen, Jeff “The In” Sneider has confirmed that Pierre will officially reprise his role in James Gunn’s Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow.

Reportedly, Pierre‘s role isn’t just a cameo; it’s the connective tissue the DCU has been promising since Chapter One: Gods and Monsters was first announced.

Stewart’s inclusion makes enormous sense from a tactical standpoint. If Lars Eidinger’s Brainiac is the threat we think he is—a world-collector forcing an alliance between Superman and Lex—having an intergalactic lawman like John Stewart on the ground is a necessity, not a luxury. Stewart is a marine; he’s a man of order and protocol. Watching him navigate the ego of Nicholas Hoult’s Warsuit-clad Lex Luthor while trying to save Metropolis may well be a highlight of the sequel.

By putting Pierre in Man of Tomorrow, Gunn is giving the general audience a reason to tune into the Lanterns series on HBO. It establishes Stewart as a major Justice League-caliber player before the team even officially exists.

Man of Tomorrow is set for a July 9, 2027 release.

  • ‘Pig’ Director Michael Sarnoski Eyed to Direct ‘Alien: Romulus’ Sequel

If there is one thing Disney has proven since taking over the Fox library, it’s that they know how to pick a closer. After Fede Álvarez successfully resuscitated the Alien franchise with the masterfully visceral Alien: Romulus—one of my favorite movies of 2024 and a top-tier entry alongside the Scott and Cameron originals—the studio is already looking at who will lead the next expedition into the dark.

According to a new report from Nexus Point News, the search might be over. Marvel and 20th Century Studios are reportedly eyeing Michael Sarnoski to step into the director’s chair for the Romulus sequel.

Sarnoski‘s name is one that should raise some eyebrows. He burst onto the scene with the meditative and heartbreaking Pig, then proved he could handle a massive, silent-tension blockbuster with A Quiet Place: Day One.

Sarnoski’s hire would signal a fascinating shift in tone for the sequel. While Álvarez is a “horror-first” director who excelled at the “barbaric and sanguinary” beats of Romulus, Sarnoski is a specialist in character-driven dread. And the ending of Romulus might have set up the need for such a transition.

In my review of Romulus, I praised Álvarez‘s choice to center the story on a relatable group of overworked colonists—specifically the bond between Rain (Cailee Spaeny) and the synthetic Andy (David Jonsson). Sarnoski is the perfect choice to deepen those emotional stakes as they head toward “greener pastures”, where the inevitable nightmare will be waiting on Yvaga III.

Sarnoski’s work on Day One proved he can direct chaos without losing the intimacy of the protagonists. In a franchise where “no one can hear you scream,” his ability to use silence as a weapon is a match made in LV-426.

Disney looks to be continuing to follow the same playbook it has used in revitalizing another Fox property: Predator–find a visionary director, let them play in the sandbox with a focused, standalone story, and avoid the “mythology bloat” that slowed down Scott’s prequels. By bringing in Sarnoski, they aren’t just making another sequel; they’re treating the Alien franchise like an anthology of elite horror filmmakers.

A Romulus follow-up with Sarnoski behind the camera would likely lean less on the echoes of the past and more on the viscerally grating tension that he’s proven to be capable of delivering.
