Marvel Studios teased a continuation of Sam Wilson’s journey as Captain America at the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier when the title card changed to Captain America and the Winder Soldier. Yet, while plans for a movie were announced shortly thereafter, Marvel Studios never confirmed the project. The film, titled Captain America: New World Order, will star Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson as he takes over the Captain America mantle.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer Malcolm Spellman penned the script with Dalan Musson, a staff writer on the show. Julius Onah, who helmed The Cloverfield Paradox, is on board to direct the film.

Captain America: New World Order is slated to hit theaters on May 3rd, 2024.
