It’s not been too long since we first heard rumblings of Daredevil getting his own Disney+ series. Charlie Cox‘s return to the Marvel universe in Spider-Man: No Way Home was a big surprise for many and set his slow return to the franchise. Now, we finally got the announcement that the series is definitely coming and even has received a new title, as it is heading to Disney+ as Daredevil: Born Again. That#s not all, as it’ll seemingly run for 18 episodes.

SDCC: Marvel Debuts New ‘She-Hulk’ Trailer
With She-Hulk: Attorney at Law set to debut on Disney+ in August, Marvel Studios has debuted a new trailer for the series. The trailer was unveiled during the studio’s presentation at Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con.
The new trailer, which can be seen below, should ease concerns fans had regarding the CGI in the show. She-Hulk‘s overall look is much cleaner than in the first trailer, and her comic’s accurate costume is on full display.
Joining Maslany in She-Hulk are Mark Ruffalo, who returns as Brace Banner/Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/Abomination, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry. Benedict Wong is also confirmed to reprise his role as Wong in the series.
She-Hulk‘s first season, which consists of 9 episodes, will premiere on Disney+ on August 17th. Like with the other shows, She-Hulk will follow a weekly release plan.

SDCC: ‘Captain America: New World Order’ Officially Announced
Marvel Studios teased a continuation of Sam Wilson’s journey as Captain America at the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier when the title card changed to Captain America and the Winder Soldier. Yet, while plans for a movie were announced shortly thereafter, Marvel Studios never confirmed the project. With the news of a director boarding Captain America 4 earlier this month, it’s not surprising that Marvel Studios has officially announced the project as part of its Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con.
The film, titled Captain America: New World Order, will star Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson as he takes over the Captain America mantle.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer Malcolm Spellman penned the script with Dalan Musson, a staff writer on the show. Julius Onah, who helmed The Cloverfield Paradox, is on board to direct the film.
Captain America: New World Order is slated to hit theaters on May 3rd, 2024.

SDCC: The Ultimate Marvel Studios Hall H Panel Recap
With the return of San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios’ legendary Hall H panel was back for SDCC 2022. Back in 2019, Marvel Studios laid out the first part of the outline for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4. Now, in 2022, the mega panel closed out the day in Hall H in style with major revelations and exciting information and footage for fans. If you missed our live coverage of the event, or if you are looking for all the Marvel Studios SDCC news in one place, we’ve got you covered. This article contains a summary of the panel and hits all the newsworthy highlights.
While some wondered if Marvel Studios would truly bring major surprises to SDCC, President Kevin Feige immediately shocked fans by announcing that Phase 4 of the MCU has almost nearly already come to an end. Phase 4 officially ends with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is only months away. Phase 5, which has previously barely been discussed, is now officially set to begin with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in early 2023 and end with Thunderbolts, a newly announced title, in the summer of 2024. Not only that, but Marvel Studios released the first information about Phase 6. Phases 4 through 6 will indeed be titled, the “Multiverse Saga”, and will end in a two-part Avengers event. Phase 4
Marvel Studios made the shocking reveal that only two projects are left in Phase 4 of the MCU. Both She-Hulk and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever revealed new posters and trailers.
She-Hulk — August 17, 2022
As the next project to be released in the MCU, it comes as no surprise that Marvel Studios spent a little time on She-Hulk. Set to debut on Disney+ on August 17, the cast of the series arrived in Hall H:
A poster and final trailer for the series dropped at SDCC, which includes training montages and 4th wall breaks. It also confirms that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will be in She-Hulk. Check it out below:
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever — November 11, 2022
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was certainly one of the most predictable inclusions in Marvel Studios’ SDCC panel considering it is the MCU’s next feature film. Still, the sequel to the Academy Award-winning Black Panther closed out the Hall H presentation. Feige was joined on stage by director Ryan Coogler and cast members Mabel Cadena, Michaela Cole, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Tenoch Huerta, Florence Kasumba, Alex Livinalli, Lupita Nyong’o, Dominique Thorne and Letitia Wright.
Also as anticipated, SDCC brought the first trailer for Wakanda Forever:
Phase 5
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania — February 17, 2023
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, though previously announced, will now officially serve as the beginning of the MCU’s Phase 5. Peyton Reed, Kathryn Newton, Evangeline Lily, Jonathan Majors, and Paul Rudd were in attendance at SDCC, and those in Hall H were treated to some exclusive footage. The footage reportedly showed the film’s first look at Majors’ Kang the Conquerer, Bill Murray, and a confirmation that villain M.O.D.O.K. will appear in the Ant-Man threequel.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit theaters February 17, 2023.
Secret Invasion — Spring 2023
The upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion got some time to shine at SDCC as well, with the in-person audience getting a first look at some footage. Kevin Feige announced that Secret Invasion will hit Disney+ in the Spring of 2023. Secret Invasion will be the second project of the now-announced Phase 5, which will kick off with Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantummania. It will star Samuel L. Jackson, Emilia Clarke, and the legend known only as Talos, Ben Mendelson, as they fend off an invasion from the villainous Skrulls. It is said that Secret Invasion will feed right into The Marvels, the sequel of the billion-dollar hit Captain Marvel. Actress Cobie Smolders, who plays Maria Hill, was in attendance. The show was described as a dark thriller, and Don Cheadle’s James Rhoades aka War Machine was confirmed to be in the series.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 — May 5, 2023
Director James Gunn appeared in person to tease the first footage for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for the Hall H audience. The footage reportedly included Zoe Saldana’s Gamora as a Ravager, a first look at Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock, and confirms Peacemaker star Chukwudi Iwuji as the villain, the High Evolutionary. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’s breakout star Maria Bakalova will be voicing Cosmo the Spacedog. The cast was reportedly very emotional after seeing the footage–check out the GotG cast below:
The film was described as the end of an era for the Guardians in the MCU. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters May 5, 2023.
Echo — Summer 2023
SDCC revealed that the series Echo will hit Disney+ in Summer 2023.
Loki Season 2 — Summer 2023
The second season of Loki is also slated for Summer 2023, though after Echo.
The Marvels — July 28, 2023
Even though Ms. Marvel just ended to critical acclaim and with a tease to the Captain Marvel sequel, no new information about The Marvels was shared. It is still scheduled for a July 28, 2023 release.
Blade — November 3, 2023
There was no additional information on the upcoming Blade film led by Mahershala Ali. But the film was given a release date of November 3, 2023.
Ironheart — Fall 2023
The Disney+ series following Riri Williams, Ironheart will release in Fall 2023.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos — Winter 2023
Following Marvel Studios’ first streaming project, WandaVision, a spinoff focusing on Kathryn Hahn’s character, Agatha Harkness, was announced. At SDCC ’22, the spinoff was given a new name and a tentative release date. Agatha: Coven of Chaos will start streaming on Disney+ in Winter 2023.
Daredevil: Born Again — Spring 2024
Daredevil’s solo series starring Charlie Cox in the MCU was not a major part of the SDCC panel. Still, not only did we learn that the series would be titled, Daredevil: Born Again, but it will consist of a whopping 18 episodes. It will begin streaming on Disney+ sometime in Spring 2024.

Thunderbolts — July 26, 2024
It looks like we finally have the official confirmation from Marvel Studios that the villain-focused team-up film, Thunderbolts, is heading our way. It seems that the film will be part of the studio’s next phase and is teasing a promising future direction for Marvel Studios’ creative new future. It is scheduled to release on July 26, 2024.
Phase 6
Not only did Marvel Studios surprise by announcing the entirety of Phase 5, but Kevin Feige kept going, giving audiences a look at what looks to be a massive Phase 6, beginning with Fantastic Four on November 8, 2024. Phase 6 will end in a duo of Avengers films entitled Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Phases 4 through 6 are officially coined the “Multiverse Saga”.
Fantastic Four — November 8, 2024
In 2019, Kevin Feige blew up SDCC with the announcement that Marvel Studios was set to unleash their own Fantastic Four film after acquiring the property in the merger with Fox. Jon Watts was brought on board to direct the film but recently left the project. While there’s no new director on board, the film does now have a release date.
8 Unannounced Projects
San Diego Comic-Con has been chaotic, to say the least, as we not only got a look at Phase 5 but also the tease for Phase 6, which will all be under the banner of the Multiverse Saga. While they unveiled Fantastic Four alongside not one but two Avengers films releasing in 2025, they also teased 8 other projects that haven’t gotten announced yet either. It’s unclear if those may be projects they will keep a secret until Disney+ Day and D23. Check out the empty dates on the Phase 6 schedule:
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty — May 2, 2025
Avengers: Secret Wars — November 7, 2025
Like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame did for Phase 3 and the Infinity Saga, the fifth and sixth Avengers films will close out Phase 6 and the Multiverse Saga. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars release May 2 and November 7, 2025, meaning there are only about six months between the release of the two films. Not much else is known about the two-part event, but it confirms many fans’ speculations that the current saga’s big villain would be Kang the Conquerer and end in a Secret Wars-inspired multiversal event.

SDCC: First Look at ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ Sequel’s Kang and Stature
We’re still some time away from the official Marvel Studios panel, but in a surprising move, it seems that Marvel Studios Andy Parkart has shared an early look at Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Not only that, but it also includes our first teaser of Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, as well as the design of Cassie Lang’s costume as Stature, the first time confirming she’ll take on the role in the upcoming film.

SDCC: ‘The Sandman’ Creator Once Pitched a ‘Marvel 1602’ Adaptation
San Diego Comic-Con sometimes reveals some interesting details from the past that we may have never found out otherwise. Before the days of Marvel Studios, there was a very different regime. Ike Perlmutter is still famous for being very frugal and Avi Arad once had a big hand in what Marvel’s future was about, a production studio under the tutelage of toy producers. During that era, Neil Gaiman, the creator of Sandman and many iconic stories, seemingly tried to pitch a live-action film.
It seems that back then he tried to pitch them a live-action adaptation of Marvel 1602, which was a unique storyline that would’ve explored our favorite heroes during the year 1602. While an interesting twist would connect it to the present day, the adaptation was certainly something that could’ve offered a very unique take on superhero stories. He has pointed out that he hopes maybe the current leadership is interested in adapting it.

SDCC: ‘The Sandman’ Illustrator Returns from Retirement for Netflix Series’ End Credits
If you thought The Sandman wasn’t going to be something special, San Diego Comic-Con’s panel has revealed something quite incredible. As shared by Netflix Geeked, the series will have unique end title credits for every single episode. Not just that, but the iconic graphic novel’s illustrator Dave McKean is coming back out of retirement to lend his hand in designing them. That is no small feat and a testament to how much Neil Gaiman believes in this adaptation, which hopefully continues to excite fans about the prospect of finally seeing this story brought to life.

SDCC: Crossover Incoming with Star Trek’s ‘Strange New Worlds’ & ‘Lower Decks’
Paramount+ has become the go-to streaming service for all things Star Trek. Following the success of Star Trek: Discovery, the streaming service continued to build its Star Trek library with the addition of Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The latter series, which just ended its first season to critical acclaim, chronicled Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock, and the rest of the U.S.S. Enterprise as they visited different parts of the Galaxy. It is set 10 years before Star Trek: The Original Series and is the first spin-off from Star Trek: Discovery.
The series showed Captain Pike in his post-retirement glory gearing up to hand the Enterprise to one Captain Kirk, with Strange New Worlds finding him in his prime leading the Enterprise with new and old faces alike. When showrunner Alex Kurtzman pitched the series to then-CBS All Access, he pitched them on an ever-expanding universe that could potentially see crossovers between the different shows, ala the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We did not know when the first crossover would happen, but San Diego Comic-Con has provided that answer.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is officially crossing over with Star Trek: Lower Decks, which is the first animated Star Trek series since 1970 and follows the adventures of the Cerritos in the year 2380. The show is now two seasons in, and it has been revealed that Season 2 of Strange New Worlds will see a live-action crossover between the two shows. Even cooler, it will be directed by Commander William Riker, himself Jonathan Frakes. Frakes was actually one of the ones who pitched CBS on some Star Trek content before they decided Kurtzman would be the sole showrunner, so it is exciting to see him get a shot to direct this first crossover episode in the Star Trek Universe.

SDCC: Warner Bros.’ DC Theatrical Panel Recap
During the Warner Bros. Hall H panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, DC Entertainment gave fans new footage and insight into some of its upcoming projects. Much of the presentation focused on Shazam: Fury of the Gods and Black Adam, with respective stars Zachary Levi and Dwayne Johnson in attendance. Shazam: Fury of the Gods
The Warner Bros. Theatrical Panel opened with a sizzle reel of Shazam: Fury of the Gods. Stars Zachary Levi and Lucy Liu were in attendance along with director David F. Samberg. The sequel to 2019’s Shazam revealed its first story details. The film will take place a few years after the original, and it will see how the team is established as heroes. They will face off against the Daughters of Atlas as the villains. West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler’s role was finally revealed as well, as she will be playing Antaeus, a Daughter of Atlas.
Warner Bros. also used SDCC to drop the first trailer for Fury of the Gods. Check it out below:
Shazam: Fury of the Gods is scheduled to hit theaters on December 21, 2022.
Black Adam
DC next dazzled the Hall H audience with its Black Adam presentation, including a dramatic entrance from star Dwayne Johnson himself. Johnson was also joined by other cast members, including Jaume Collet-Serra, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, and Quintessa Swindell.
Apparently, a final cut of the film was completed just the day before the presentation. It was revealed that Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller would be returning in Black Adam, on the heels of her performances in The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. Johnson discussed how he views Black Adam as a relaunching point for DC films and a vehicle to build the Justice Society of America.

Henry Cavill’s Absence
While SDCC is usually all about what fans are actually given, a bit of news here comes from what did not happen during the Warner Bros. Hall H panel. Earlier rumors hinted at Henry Cavill showing up during the Hall H panel to announce his return as Superman was heavily rumored but it turns out that wasn’t the case after all. For some, the panel ended on a somber note when the expectation of Superman’s return fell through.

SDCC: ‘House of the Dragon’ Screenwriter Teases the Dragons
Continuing our coverage of San Diego Comic-Con, Hall H continues with a panel on the upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff with the House of the Dragon. The first spin-off from the wildly popular adaptation of A Song Of Fire & Ice brings us to a time when the Lannisters were not in power, but rather explore the Targaryen empire. We heard these stories throughout Game of Thrones, but now we are going to see them play out on the small screen. One question that has popped up a ton as we are ready for the August premiere of House of the Dragon: how many dragons will we see?
During the panel, screenwriter Ryan Condal was asked whether how dominant we’d see the symbol of the Targaryen and their rise to power. Given that Daenerys birthed three dragons in the original series, and we saw the skulls of dragons under Kings Landing, it does bode the question of how many would appear. He reveals that seventeen dragons are present throughout the HBO Max’s series runtime.
Now, keep in mind that in Game of Thrones lore only a select few Targaryens can ride dragons. So, it is going to be interesting to see if there is this competitive nature between the various family members that can ride and the ones who can’t. Still, seventeen dragons are nothing to scoff at and would go a long way towards explaining the expensive budget the show is working with.
