‘Daredevil: Born Again’: [SPOILER] Returns as Action Moves to Key Netflix Series Location in Latest Set Photos

Ironically, as Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again enters into its Netflix era, production on Season 2 of the D+ streaming series has returned to one of the Netflix series’ key locations. After what seemed like a daily onslaught of set photos early on, production on the new season of the Marvel Studios revival hadn’t been gathering much attention; however, that’s certainly changed now.

For the past few days, photos from the New York City set revealed that as part of his New York: Born Again campaign, Wilson Fisk was set to take part in a charity boxing match against someone called Matter Horn. Now, new photos and video reveal that the match takes place at Fogwell’s Gym.

Fogwell’s, of course, is the home gym of the Murdocks. It’s the place where Jack Murdock trained and where Matt learned to fight. It would almost certainly seem that since Fisk knows Matt is Daredevil, that he’s chosen the venue to draw the hero out as he continues his anti-vigilante agenda. And further video from the set shows that if that was indeed the plan, it worked.

Wilson Bethel‘s Bullseye has been on set the past few days as well and now we know why…sort of. While it’s not entirely clear what is intent is, the crazed assassin can be seen arriving at Fogwell’s in his tactical suit, once again loaded with knives. And then he can be seen quickly leaving…through the front window!

It would seem that showrunner Dario Scardapane is intent on having Daredevil and Bullseye crash through the front window of every location near and dear to the heart of Matt Murdock. With the frenzy taking place outside Fogwell’s just before the two exit the gym, it’s clear the action inside was likely just as intense as what went down inside Josie’s in Season 1. However, no spoilers have escaped the set just yet but given who was in attendance, it’s incredibly likely Bullseye was there to take someone out…but who?

The Season 1 finale of Daredevil: Born Again streams on April 15th on Disney Plus. Season 2 will debut in 2026.

  • ‘Daredevil: Born Again’Episode 8 Review-The Guardian Devil

    ‘Daredevil: Born Again’Episode 8 Review-The Guardian Devil

For the bulk of the first seven episodes of Daredevil: Born Again, the series felt as smoothly paced as any streaming series Marvel Studios has produced. While Netflix edge lords may have bemoaned the lack of gratuitous violence, it was rare that the first seven episodes felt either dawdling or rushed. Somehow, Dario Scardapane and Jesse Wigutow’s script for Episode 8, “Isle of Joy”, managed to accomplish both.

Despite some truly big league cinematography and a major surprise in the closing moments, Episode 8 slothfully moved through some truly meaningless ground while also tackling a half dozen or so subplots. Every second spent with Michael Gandolfini‘s Daniel and Genneya Watson‘s BB Urich feels much like the parts of the Netflix series that the new creative team seemed intent on eliminating. Meanwhile, the pieces to the puzzle the audience has been missing to fully understand Wilson and Vanessa’s plans are more-or-less “oh by the way’d” into the runtime.

Of course, without the ability to see the entire two-season plan, some of what took place in Episode 8–and in bits and pieces of other episodes–may still come into play in the future; however, it’s probably worth pointing out now that some moments that may have seemed to matter won’t be followed up on in Episode 9…and maybe never again.

With the season finale ahead and Matt having made the choice to be a good man and defend his enemies, as Bullseye said he should, the finale could prove interesting. Will Fisk’s near-death experience make him consider backing off his mission to put Daredevil behind bars? On his own and seriously injured, will Matt muster up the energy to put up a fight, as he always has? Will the Netflixers find themselves immersed in the darkness and blood that made them love Daredevil 10 years ago? Will you be able to see what’s happening in the episode of you’re watching in a room where there’s any natural light? We’ll all find out soon, True Believers!

  • Possible Peek at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom Reveals an Absolutely Absurd Take on the Character

Possible Peek at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom Reveals an Absolutely Absurd Take on the Character

Of the 70,000+ characters created by Marvel Comics over the years, Doctor Doom is arguably the most well-crafted among them. Years of retcons have resulted in a flawed megalomaniac who remains entirely relatable to the Everyman. When Marvel Studios acquired the live-action rights to the character in 2019 as part of Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, hopes wre high that after a pair of poor representations of Doom were brought to the screen in 2005 and 2015, Marvel might get it right. Those hopes have begun to fade.

How can we not go backwards? How can we not disappoint expectations? How can we continue to beat expectations? And he brought up Victor Von Doom. I looked into this character. Later on, he goes, ‘Let’s get Victor Von Doom right.’

-Robert Downey Jr. on Kevin Feige’s pitch for him to return to the MCU

After what has since been revealed to be nearly a year’s worth of planning, Robert Downey Jr. was revealed to be Marvel Studios choice to bring Doctor Doom to life in the MCU. Questions about the choice haven’t really stopped since the announcement was made at SDCC ’24 and now a possible peek at Downey’s Doom look has generated even more concern.

Downey’s 60th birthday celebration took place in the UK where the star has been for some time in preparation for the beginning of principal photography on Avengers: Doomsday and a very special invitation was sent out to those lucky enough to be in consideration to attend. Joined by a pair of Doombots, Downey’s Doom appears to be wearing combat fatigues, sporting a pair of black gauntlets and a gold mask. His ensemble is topped off with a fancy purple cape.

While it would be easy–and perhaps best–to pass this off as simply some artistic choices, the fact that the character’s hair resembles the new look Downey was seen sporting at his party has led people to believe the invite is based closely on how Downey’s Doom will look in the film. And if that is the case, it’s unlikely to relieve concerns about this iteration of the character. Though the invitation does seem to indicate that this Doom will, like his comic book counterpart, be a mastrr of the mystic arts and a scientist, at some point it’s ok to wonder when Marvel Studios will stop attempting to reinvent the wheel each time they bring a major character into the MCU. Simply put, there is only Doom and he doesn’t need to be altered to be great.

Avengers: Doomsday will be in theaters on May 1, 2026.

  • Disney Pumps the Brakes on Its Next Live-Action Reimagining

Disney Pumps the Brakes on Its Next Live-Action Reimagining

In 1937, Walt Disney Productions ushered in an all-new age of film with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The studio’s first full-length animated film which introduced the first Disney Princess, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs featured groundbreaking animation and opened the door to a golden age for the genre. By almost every standard, it is considered one of the greatest films of all time.

The same cannon he said for Disney’s recent live-action reimagination, Snow White. Mired in controversy before its release, the new film foundered at the box office amid harsh critical reception. And while its animated predecessor launched Disney into a new age, the 2025 versionay we’ll have been the final straw for the studio’s plans to remake its animated classics.

According to THR, as the studio navigates the fallout of its failure with Snow White, it has paused development on its planned live-action reimagining of 2010’s Tangled.

In December 2024, trade reports revealed that Disney has hired The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey to take the helm of the Rapunzel retelling, working from a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Rumors quickly followed that stars such as Kathryn Hahn, Florence Pugh and Sabrina Carpenter were being considered for roles in the film.

According to THR, it’s unclear if Disney will decide to move forward with Tangled down the road. For now, the studio looks to be waiting to process the critical and audience response to two already-completed live-action remake projects, Lilo & Stitch and Moana, before making a decision.

  • ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Episode 7 Review: Devil By Day

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Episode 7 Review: Devil By Day

Pablo Picasso once sort of-famously explained that “the purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.” That idea put him squarely at odds with the 19th century philosophy of “art for art’s sake,” which valued aesthetics over the idea that art should have some larger utility within society. It’s then worth pondering how Picasso might have felt about Episode 7 of Daredevil: Born Again, “Art for Art’s Sake.” Despite featuring a Daredevil daring to buckle his swash in broad daylight and some shooting and some blood and shit, “Art for Art’s Sake” somehow feels more like the “filler episode” fans seemed convinced Episode 5 would be.

Though it’s not a poor episode, “Art for Art’s Sake” is the first time—and truly the only time—that Daredevil: Born Again felt like a stitched-together show. It seems unlikely that Disney ironically placed the title it did on the episode; however, that’s essentially how this episode fits into the bigger picture. It exists to exist and nearly all of what happens within its runtime has no larger utility in the structure of the series other than to put a disappointing end to the one arc that was beginning to approach entertaining.

While screening the series in early March, it was right about the time that Muse died that I began to realize that not only does Daredevil have a Kingpin problem, but also that Daredevil has a Kingpin problem. For the third time in four seasons (and early returns from production on Season 2 would indicate it’ll become the fourth time in five seasons), Wilson Fisk is the primary antagonist of a Daredevil series. Yes, Dex was the physical opponent in Season 3 of Daredevil and Matt got to fight crazy buzzsaw costume guy once but with Muse, the creatives had a chance to do something really special…and instead they made him into background noise so that we could get to some more Matt and Wilson stories. I understand the place Fisk holds in the Daredevil mythos; however, it’s ok to let the Fat Man take a break and give Matt something else to do.

And so, rather than having an episode that washed the dust of daily life off of our souls, it seemed to just add another layer. Hope does spring eternal, however, and photos from the New York City set of Season 2 have revealed that somehow, some way, Muse will return and showrunner Dario Scardapane also revealed that the character will be a multi-season problem for Matt. However, without any solid idea of what the future holds of the character, it’s easy to feel disappointed in the way he was incorporated into Season 1. Already changed from the (probably) Inhuman-ly powered character in the comics, Hunter Doohan‘s Muse deserved to be a bit more than the catalyst for another round of Daredevil vs. Kingpin.

  • Lucasfilm Reveals ‘Tales of the Underworld’ Ahead of Star Wars Day Release

Lucasfilm Reveals ‘Tales of the Underworld’ Ahead of Star Wars Day Release

Following the success of the previous two installments in its Tales anthology series, fans had been speculating about when another round of episodes might hit and also about which corner of the galaxy far, far away they might visit. Lucasfilm addressed both concerns with one surprise announcement, revealing the next batch of animated episodes will be streaming sooner than anyone might have imagined.

In a press release and social media rollout, Lucasfilm revealed that Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, will premiere on Disney+ on May 4th. The new episodes will feature fan favorite bounty hunters Cad Bane, last seen in The Book of Boba Fett, and Asajj Ventress, last seen in Season 3 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

Tales of the Underworld focuses on the criminal underbelly of the Star Wars galaxy through the experiences of two iconic villains. Former assassin and bounty hunter Asajj Ventress is given a new chance at life and must go on the run with an unexpected new ally, while outlaw Cad Bane faces his past when he confronts an old friend, now a Marshal on the opposite side of the law.

-Synopsis for Star Wars: Tales of the Underwolrd

While the synopsis doesn’t clarify and previous installments of the anthology have taken full advantage of skipping around through time, it seems as though the episodes featuring Ventress will take place after her appearance in The Bad Batch AND, possibly, post-Order 66. Nika Futterman returns as the voice of Ventress, who, it seems, will be looking after Jedi Lyco Strata, voiced by Lane Factor, protecting him from Troopers and also what looks to be a brand new Imperial Inquisitor.

Corey Burton will return as the voice of Cad Bane and given the relatively grim nature of his last appearance, one would be inclined to believe these episodes are set before The Book of Boba Fett. Bane looks to be out to settle a score with an old friend-turned-foe in fellow Duros, Niro, voiced by Artt Butler.

The talented voice cast also includes AJ LoCascio, who has voiced Han Solo in the past, Clare Grant, the voice of Latts Razzi in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, the voice of Steela Gerrera, and Eric Lopez, who has voiced both Iron Squadron member Jonner Jin and Imperial Cadet Nazhros Oleg in Star Wars Rebels.

  • CinemaCon: Sony Sets New Date for ‘Spider-Verse’ Trilogy Finale

CinemaCon: Sony Sets New Date for ‘Spider-Verse’ Trilogy Finale

Nearly a decade after the first film hit theaters, Sony’s Spider-Verse trilogy will come to a close. As part of its CinemaCon 2025 presentation in Las Vegas, Sony revealed that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will hit theaters on June 4, 2027.

The opening chapter in the Spider-Verse trilogy, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, took the movie-going world by storm in December 2018. Before its release, work had already begun on a second film and plans had already been spun for a third, which was originally slated for release on March 29, 2024. Much has changed about the original plans and now Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will release more than three years later than intended. Franchise producer Phil Lord and co-directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson addressed the significant delay, saying, “We know how important this franchise is to so many people around us. We just could not run it back. So, we decided we needed to take the time to make sure we got it just right.”

Sony unveiled a first look at the film, showcasing some impressive new animation. Callin it a “massive finale to the trilogy,” Lord, who was on stage in Vegas, explained that, as expected, the third film will open with Miles Morales on the run, teasing that “Gwen and his other friends may or may not be enough to help him save the family that’s been the leading part of the entire system.”

  • CinemaCon: Sony Reveals Home-less Subtitle for ‘Spider-Man 4’

CinemaCon: Sony Reveals Home-less Subtitle for ‘Spider-Man 4’

With all the major production studios in Las Vegas for CinemaCon 2025, Sony didn’t want to come up short leading off the event, which brings theater owners from around the world together to preview upcoming slates. As part of its two-hour panel, Sony played a pre-recorded video message from Spider-Man star Tom Holland in which he revealed the title of the next installment in the franchise.

After apologizing for not being able to attend in person because of his filming schedule on Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey, Holland promised a “fresh start” for the Web-Slinger in the new film before sharing the title.”I know we left you with a massive cliff hanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say. That’s all I’ve been allowed to say,” said Holland, who then (sort of) jokingly added “And I’m well over the hump of giving away spoilers, so don’t be worried. I’m not going to do that today.

Director Daniel Destin Cretton, who was on stage in Las Vegas, gave some insight into the prep work he and the rest of the creative crew on the film are putting in ahead of production.”I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” teased Cretton. “We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before,” said Cretton of Brand New Day, which was confirmed to be headed into production this summer.

The fourth MCU-set Spider-Man film has been the subject of rumors, speculation and made-up nonsense ever since Marvel Studios’ Big Cheese, Kevin Feige, revealed work had started on the film in December 2021, ahead of the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Originally rumored as an adaptation of Marvel Comics Devil’s Reign that would feature Spidey teaming up with Daredevil to take on Wilson Fisk in a “street-level Civil War”, other reports had the film evolving into an unprecedented high-stakes crossover event that would feature Sony’s latest Venom villain, Knull, the King in Black. With Tom Hardy recently confirming that the studios were close to coming to terms on a deal before it fell apart, that latter no longer seems to be the wild rumor it was once made out to be.

While it’s now clear that neither of those two rumored plots will unfold in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the title reveal does call to mind a November 2024 report from Production Weekly in which the not-always-reliable outlet shared a synopsis for the fourth Spider-Man film while also accurately revealing the correct subtitle.

Following the events of Doomsday, Peter Parker is determined to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping back from his responsibilities as Spider-Man. However, peace is short-lived when a deadly new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. With stakes higher than ever, Peter reluctantly returns to his Spider-Man identity and finds himself teaming up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves.

While the plot of the new film remains a tightly-guarded secret, the Brand New Day subtitle will certainly ring a bell with comic book readers as Dan Slott’s follow up to the controversial One More Day arc that saw Peter Parker strike a deal with the devil, making it the perfect subtitle for the new film given that Spider-Man: No Way Home loosely adapted One More Day.

  • Finn Jones Wants Another Chance at Iron Fist

Finn Jones Wants Another Chance at Iron Fist

When Daredevil first debuted on Netflix a decade ago, the series proved to be a promising start for the streaming service’s planned Defenders universe. Jessica Jones and Luke Cage would follow soon after, delivering solid storytelling and fantastic casting that had pleased many fans. Then there was Iron Fist. After it was revealed that Finn Jones, who at the time was best known for his work on Game of Thrones, fans were a bit skeptical, having voiced their concerns over Jones and the depiction of Danny Rand on the small screen. Despite the understandable discourse surrounding Jones’ casting, the actor starred as Iron Fist for two seasons, while also appearing in The Defenders alongside Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. Sadly, though, the character has yet to reappear within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Now that Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal have reprised their roles as Daredevil and Punisher, respectively, fans are ready to see the rest of the Defenders make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe proper. Rumors have already circulated that Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones, and Mike Colter has expressed mixed feelings in returning as Luke Cage, although he has suggested talks haven’t occurred — at least yet. One actor who hasn’t been brought up much, though, is Finn Jones.

During an appearance at the LaConve anime convention in Mexico, Jones expressed his interest in returning as Iron Fist, stating “I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a fucking chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen.”

Marvel Studios’ streaming and TV boss Brad Winderbaum has previously suggested that the rest of the Defenders could very well be brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Charlie Cox‘s return as Daredevil. In fact, Winderbaum suggested the studio was actively exploring the possibilities of such and has gone on to express excitement over getting to play in that sandbox that was once off limits due to the contract with Netflix. Rumors have previously suggested Marvel Studios intended to bring back Ritter and Colter, but that the return of Jones was unlikely. For now, fans will have to wait and see what happens with Iron Fist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it’s clear Jones is eager to jump back into the role of Rand should he ever get the call.

  • Nathan Fillion Has Joined the Cast of ‘Lanterns’

Nathan Fillion Has Joined the Cast of ‘Lanterns’

Nathan Fillion has officially joined the cast of HBO’s Lanterns. The actor, who is set to portray Guy Gardner in this Summer’s Superman, will reprise his role in the HBO series. The news was reported on Monday afternoon, with Deadline suggesting the actor has, perhaps unsurprisingly, long been attached to the project for some time. Fillion is no stranger to Gardner, having voiced the character in numerous animated projects for DC, including Green Lantern: Emerald Knight and Reign of Superman.

HBO’s Lanterns series, which is inspired by DC Comics’ characters, focuses on Hal Jordan and John Stewart, two intergalactic cops who ultimately find themselves drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. Lanterns will consist of eight-episodes, and hails from Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and comics writer, Tom King. Mundy, who is the showrunner, co-wrote the series with Lindelof and King. All three will serve as executive producers on the project.

The HBO series is currently in production and is set to be headlined by Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre, as Hal Jordan and John Stewart, respectively. It will also star Kelly MacDonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Ulrich Thomsen. Episodes of Lanterns are confirmed to be directed by James Hawes, Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov. As of right now, the series does not yet have a release date announced.
