Summer Game Fest: ‘Nier Automata’ 2B Costume Heading to ‘Fall Guys’

It seems that the Nier franchise keeps growing in popularity, as it was just revealed that the iconic outfit of Nier Automata‘s 2B is heading to the popular multiplayer game, Fall Guys. We’ve seen various pop culture-inspired costumes throughout its runtime and, at this point, it’s hard to imagine which franchise hasn’t added a reference to Nier at this point. The trailer also seems to tease penguins in the design of the alien machines that invaded Earth in the game with a unique background. It would be great to get a unique level inspired by the game, but t seems it mainly is focusing on releasing the costume.

Summer Game Fest: ‘Fast and Furious’ Cars Heading to ‘Rocket League’

You never know what will happen at the Summer Game Fest and it looks like Fast and Furious is returning to the world of Rocket League, as they announced a brand new set of cars is getting added to the popular game. We’re getting some iconic cars from the latest addition to the franchise, F9, and it’s always exciting to get a chance to play soccer while being in a jet-fueled car. Both franchises seem to love crazy high-flying action which makes it the perfect crossover. Now, if only I can get an airhorn that is Vin Diesel saying: “family.”

Summer Game Fest: ‘Overwatch 2’s Designs for Baptiste and Sombra Revealed

It looks like Overwatch 2‘s brand new designs for Baptiste and Sombra were revealed during the Summer Game Fest. While we didn’t get any new gameplay or a closer look at what is new with the sequel to the popular Blizzard shooter, the new updated designs offer a nice little tease of what is heading our way. It’ll be interesting if we get more character design reveals during the upcoming E3 event, as they build up to a bigger showcase of the new experience heading our way. Luckily, @Niandra_ managed to get high-quality screenshots of the character designs.

  • REPORT: Jameela Jamil to Play ‘She-Hulk’ Villain Titania

REPORT: Jameela Jamil to Play ‘She-Hulk’ Villain Titania

It looks like there is no end to the news surrounding Marvel Studios’ future on Disney+. We’ve recently got a tiny glimpse behind the scenes of She-Hulk with a look at Mark Ruffalo donning his CGI suit. Now, it seems that Illuminerdi got their hands on some news, as they just shared the info that The Good Place‘s Jameela Jamil is playing the villainous Titania. She’s an interesting addition as the main foil for Jennifer Walter. Illuminerdi believes that she was the character that went under the code name “Lucy.” She was described as a Kardashian-esque social media influencer with a dark side. We don’t know exactly how the series will play out, but it certainly would be a unique take for the class Marvel villain. Jamil‘s addition will surely offer a lot of fresh comedy to the series and she could make for an interesting dynamic between the two unlikely villains.

If they truly follow this social media-focused character, it could give us a glimpse at what role She-Hulk might have. We know from Avengers: Endgame that Hulk is a well-known hero. So, the existence of a female version of his would also get quite a bit of attention. She might end up becoming more famous than Tatiana, which pushes her over the edge to keep up with her unlikely enemy. Of course, she could also just end up being one of Jennifer’s clients throughout the legal comedy’s run.

  • REVIEW: ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ 409: Progress

REVIEW: ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ 409: Progress

Episode 9 is a delightful romp through the hellscape that is the psyche of every character associated with Gilead. There are no guns, no bombs, no blood of any sort. But everyone’s a casualty.

Jeanine is back at the red house with Aunt Lydia, being her good girl self, but oh what pain she hides beneath the surface. Esther, the young brutalized wife who the handmaids met at the farm/hideout, is now there, but refusing to eat. Jeanine’s goodness insists she tries her best to make Esther realize the lengths the Aunts will go in teaching obedience, and it works. One more obedient-on-the-surface handmaid to add to the fold.

    Progress' (409) recap | Guide

Fred and Serena are now coming to realize the mistakes they made in trusting to their continuing influence in Gilead. They may have admirers in Canada, but they certainly don’t in the upper echelons of Gilead. They have visitors from Gilead, Commander Warren, and his lovely wife Naomi, who were the primary torturers of Janine. Naomi suggests that if Serena were to find herself still in prison when the child is born, she should give it to Naomi to raise. You can almost hear the slap Serena aches to deliver to Naomi’s sweet, stupid face. Warren visits Fred, who demands more help from the other commanders in Gilead. What are the plans? Who is coming to help him? Nobody, Warren lets him know. But don’t worry. You’re in our thoughts and prayers. Fred does not seem comforted.

Let’s move on to June, who is now strong enough to tell Luke the truth: that their daughter Hannah doesn’t remember them, cringes in fear when spoken to by June, and is too far gone for there ever to be a happy family scenario that Luke is so desperate for. “I’m sorry,” says June, and she is deeply splintered by her ability to survive anything, and her inability to rescue her daughter. But she’s had to do all of her fighting alone, and here is a time for Luke to shine. He shows her all of the work he’s done already in finding Hannah, placing a bulging folder in front of her, filled with documents and photos. So finally June can count on someone helping her in the fight for her daughter.

Their first idea is to contact someone from inside Gilead. June calls Lawrence, who struggles with his own guilt at going along with the Gilead manifesto in the early days. He tells June to simply be satisfied, raise the daughter she has. June entreats him to help them because they love Hannah so much. Lawrence sets her straight.

    “Your love fucks people up.”

Cue the close-up of Luke. The implication is obvious.

Luke has gone through his own hell while being forced to wait for news of his wife and daughter. He has arrived at the airport expecting to greet his wife, only to find himself the caretaker of her infant daughter, conceived through the convoluted madness of Gilead. When he finally is reunited with his wife, she tells him the child was conceived in love. What the hell does that mean, he must be asking himself. This woman he has loved is fundamentally different, and he has to find a way to fit back into her life. But we can see Luke weaken through each scene. He sees the life he imagined with June disappearing. He faces the possibility that they may never see their Hannah again, and the daughter he’s raising isn’t truly his. Despondence chips away at him, until he finally suggests that June set up a meeting with Nick, and make sure to bring baby Nichole to sway his judgment. And then we watch his heartbreak into tiny little pieces.

The Handmaid's Tale - Episode 4.09 - Progress - Promo, BTS and Promotional Photos + Press Release

When June and Nick meet, we know what Luke already knows deep in his soul; they are in love and will be forever. A bond forged in hell can’t be broken by the survivors.

If June’s love really does fuck people up, I don’t hold out much hope for Nick surviving the season.
Someone else who may not survive: Mark, their liaison from the state department. He casually tells June and Luke that they have flipped Fred, and he will now be their primary source for intel on Gilead. June is enraged that her rapist will be set free, and threatens (promises?) that she will kill Mark for this betrayal.
What will the season finale hold? It’s called Wilderness and not Gilead Armageddon, so I’m sure I’ll be disappointed at some level.

  • Summer Game Fest: ‘Jurassic World: Evolution’ Sequel Announced

Summer Game Fest: ‘Jurassic World: Evolution’ Sequel Announced

It’s quite an understatement that the Jurassic World franchise is quite beloved. The grand return in cinemas was welcomed with a bang when we got another chance to revisit Isla Nubar and see a thriving park filled with dinosaurs. It always made us wonder how we’d do if we got a chance to take on that role ourselves. Well, Jurassic World: Evolution gave us that chance and it looks like the franchise is continuing to build up as they finally unveiled the sequel that teases some underwater action. I’ll probably only make it for a day or two.

Summer Game Fest: Hideo Kojima Reveals ‘Death Stranding: Director’s Cut’ for PlayStation 5

It looks like Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions aren’t quite done yet with Death Stranding, as they just revealed that an updated version is heading to the PlayStation 5 in the form of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. The video reveal was actually quite clever by playing a prank on its viewers who thought they might get some Metal Gear Solid-inspired elements when Sam Bridges briefly jumps into a box just like Solid Snake used to. While it didn’t quite go that way and they didn’t reveal much, it seems like it’ll serve a similar role as Final Fantasy VII Remake: Integrade had. It was just an additional naming for the PS5 upgrade of the game which might include some new content.

They didn’t offer many details besides that it’ll build on the original’s looter concept but with some fantasy elements. So, we might be able to collect magic of different kinds throughout the journey in this game. Tiny Tina will is our bunker leader and introduce us to this new wonderland.

  • Zack Snyder Reveals Cast for Norse Inspired ‘Twilight of The Gods’ Anime

Zack Snyder Reveals Cast for Norse Inspired ‘Twilight of The Gods’ Anime

Netflix is all in on Zack Snyder with multiple projects and a possible universe planting root at the popular streaming service. During the massive fan outcry to finally see Snyder‘s original vision of Justice League, he began setting multiple projects with Netflix. The first was Army of The Dead, a zombie heist thriller that scored a prequel film and animated series set before the film before it even released. During all the zombie mayhem Snyder announced yet another project. This time around it’s an anime based on Norse Mythology that would could exclusively to Netflix.

Word on the Norse anime had been silent for a while as development on the series marched forward. During Netflix’s Geeked Week an official title and cast were released for the upcoming series that’ll now be known as Twilight of The Gods. Joining the cast of the upcoming series is John Noble as Odin, Paterson Joseph as Loki, Corey Stoll as Hrafnkel, Jamie Chung as Hel, Jamie Clayton as The Seid-Kona, Kristopher Hivju as Andvari, Lauren Cohan as Inge, Peter Stormare as Ulfr, Pilou Asbæk as Thor, Rahul Kohli as Egill, Stuart Martin as Leif, and Sylvia Hoeks as Sigrid.

The series will be written and produced by Zack Snyder as his own take on traditional Norse mythology. He will be joined by Jay Olivia, who will serve as director and showrunner on the series. She’s also working as executive producer with Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller, and of course Zack himself. No release date for the series has been set.

  • ‘Andor’: Forest Whitaker to Return in the ‘Rogue One’ Spin-Off

‘Andor’: Forest Whitaker to Return in the ‘Rogue One’ Spin-Off

Andor has been busy filming for some time now and we still know very little about what direction the series is heading. All we know is that it’ll take place before Rogue One and explore the early days of its titular character, Cassian Andor. Some time ago we did get a good look at the cast, which includes Marvel Studios veteran Stellan Skarsgard. Well, it seems he accidentally let slip in an interview with Sverige Radio that he had “at least two good” scenes with Rogue One veteran, Forest Whitaker. He played the character of Saw Gerrera, which he even returned to play in the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game.

It actually makes a lot of sense for his character to return in the series. While he did find his end in Rogue One, there are a lot of stories that can be explored while he leads the Rebellion against the Empire. We might get a closer look at how he became infamous among even their ranks. It also opens up the question of how much Andor will explore in its first season, as we might get a look at the darker side of the Rebellion rather than the hopeful one we are introduced to in Star Wars: A New Hope. It looks like we might have al to more surprises heading our way.
