‘Everything, Everywhere All At Once’ Receiving Theatrical Re-Release With Extra Footage

Everything, Everywhere All At Once will, once again, be coming to a theater near you. The hit indie film, directed by creative duo Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, is set to receive a theatrical re-release on July 29th. According to a report from Deadline, heading back out to cinemas for another go-around will earn audiences an exclusive new introduction from the filmmakers along with a full eight minutes of outtakes, presumably played at the end of the movie.

The re-release of Everything, Everywhere All At Once is likely part of A24’s awards campaign for the film, which currently has a 95% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It will also increase the already-impressive box office haul attained by the project, which is A24’s highest-grossing ever at $94 million globally.

Everything, Everywhere All At Once stars Michelle Yeoh as a struggling laundromat owner who discovers the answers to her problems either lie somewhere in the vast plains of the multiverse, or deep within her own heart. The movie also features Ke Huy Quan, in his first major American film role since 1992’s Encino Man, as well as Stephanie Hsu, James Hong, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Harry Shum Jr. and Jenny Slate round out the cast in supporting roles. This will be the second time A24 has re-released one of its films with a slightly longer cut, following Midsommar‘s second turn in theaters in the summer of 2019. The next major release from the studio will be Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, a horror comedy starring Pete Davidson and Amandla Stenberg, on August 5th.

  • ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ to Become A24’s Highest-Grossing Film Ever

‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ to Become A24’s Highest-Grossing Film Ever

I guess you could say that Everything Everywhere All At Once has pulled in every dollar every time all by now. The film has become A24’s highest-grossing film as it has unseated Uncut Gems from that very spot. It’ll end the weekend by taking in between $50M to $52M at the domestic box office. That will put it on its path to passing Lady Bird‘s $48.85M and Uncut Gem’s $50M by then.

Adam Sandler‘s Uncut Gems by directing duo the Safdie Brothers made waves after taking the top spot after 13 weekends at the domestic box office. EEAAO, as many like to shorten it, will pass that record by taking the tops pot after only nine weekends. It’s currently eyeing a strong $3M and has also been one of the very few films to not drop at all going into its second weekend.

The timing is also perfect, as A24 has enjoyed quite the event at Cannes Film Festival. It showcased its HBO Max series Irma Vep, Jesse Eisenberg‘s When You Finish Saving the World, Stars at Noon, God’s Creatures, and Alex Garland‘s Men. So, A24 definitely is living the high life at the moment and it’ll be interesting to see if their follow-up pieces can build upon that success in one way or another.

  • A24’s ‘Hazbin Hotel’ Shares Updated Look at Alastor, The Radio Demon

A24’s ‘Hazbin Hotel’ Shares Updated Look at Alastor, The Radio Demon

Not too long ago, we got our first look at the upcoming A24 series adapting Hazbin Hotel as a series. We got a new look at Charlie Morningstar’s new redesign as she got a few nice updates for the upcoming production. That wasn’t all, as we now also got a first look at the updated design for Alastor, The Radio Demon. The character that talks as if he’s speaking through a 1930s radio became quite the fan-favorite from the initial pilot episode pitch.

He looks mostly untouched with just some added flourishes to his suit, such as the white accents. Creator Vivienne Medrano has jokingly also pointed out that he got to keep his “dumb haircut.” It was a standout character in the pilot and had a great design from the get-go, so it’s good they didn’t change much. We still haven’t seen any footage and hopefully, he also got to keep his iconic voice, but with Medrano’s involvement, they’ll surely keep elements such as that.

Overall, a great design and hopefully we’ll slowly get a look at the rest of the cast before they finally drop a trailer. For now, there’s still Helluva Boss to check out on YouTube as we wait for an official release of any update for the series. It’ll offer a different take on hell and promises a cast of colorful characters that all are trying to get rehabilitated. At least that’s what Charlie wants, Alastor might have some other plans.

  • First Look at A24’s ‘Hazbin Hotel’ Animated Series Released

First Look at A24’s ‘Hazbin Hotel’ Animated Series Released

Vivienne Medrano, who some might know better as VivziePop, has been hard at work on her various animated series. She’s been independently working with a team to bring the series titled Helluva Boss to life on YouTube, which has been welcomed with open arms by fans. That is not all, as some time ago, the famous indie production studio A24 also picked up her other pilot project, Hazbin Hotel, as a direct series. The story focuses on Charlie Morningstar, the princess of hell – yes, that hell – as she tries to reform people through her hotel. The long-dormant Twitter account started sharing some pictures from the series, such as our first look at Charlie’s new design for the series.

That’s not all, as a small teaser of the titular hotel has also been shared, which includes some familiar visuals such as the blimp that was featured heavily in the pilot episode. We’ll see if the various additions to the hotel might tease the many tenants of the hotel and the wacky adventures that might result from it.

The “On Air” sign definitely teases the return of Alastor, the Radio Demon. It’s unclear if they might change some aspects from the pilot, which isn’t uncommon for these adaptations. There’s a good chance most of the cast will return, but we might pick up where the pilot left off and just jump straight into the daily life of the hotel. With the “coming soon” tease, we hopefully won’t have to wait long for our first look at the series.

  • EXCLUSIVE: Robert Downey Jr.-Led Series ‘The Sympathizer’ Eyeing June Production Start

EXCLUSIVE: Robert Downey Jr.-Led Series ‘The Sympathizer’ Eyeing June Production Start

We were all surprised when it was announced that Robert Downey Jr.’s next major project was an HBO series adapting The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen. Park Chan-wook was attached to direct the series, which explores the tale of a Vietnamese communist spy during the end of the Vietnam War, as he is exiled to the United States. While not much has been reported since the announcement, we can exclusively reveal that the series is being developed with multiple seasons in mind.

The production is still actively casting its co-lead to tar opposite Downey Jr. and is currently scheduled to begin a nearly year-long production this June. The project is actively casting actresses and actors with a Vietnamese background to ensure the authenticity of the project. As such, they will also film parts of the project in Vietnam and Los Angeles once they get the cameras rolling.

It’s great to see the production focus on the book’s cultural background and shoot on location in Vietnam, which generally also helps boost the local economy. The production will also have a predominant Vietnamese cast with Oldboy director Chan-wook also acting as a co-showrunner alongside Don McKellar. HBO, A24, and rhombus Media are producing in association with Cinetic Medi and Moho Film.
