  • Konami’s ‘Metal Gear Solid’ Producer Teases “Many Announcements” in 2023

Konami’s ‘Metal Gear Solid’ Producer Teases “Many Announcements” in 2023

We’ve seen quite a few rumors about Metal Gear Solid getting remakes in some form or another. We’ve heard stories that the first entry on Moses Island was going to get adapted with others hinting at the story of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater potentially getting the remake treatment. While we still have no official confirmation, long-time Konami and Metal Gear Solid producer Noriaki Okamura hinted that 2023 might be a bit year.

The producer has hinted that “2023 will be a year of many announcements” for the franchise and even used the wording “long-awaited.” Of course, this kind of statement potentially hints that multiple rumors could end up being true but with no exact window, we’ll have to see when these announcements come together. Perhaps they’ll pull something similar as they did with Silent Hill, just dropping multiple game announcements in a special coverage.

It should be noted that Metal Gear Solid is very likely going to be developed by an external studio since Konami moved away from the gaming industry’s usual standards. There’s also the fact that the mastermind behind the franchise is no longer involved with Konami and left in bad blood. It seems unlikely to think that Hideo Kojima and his self-owned production company would adapt a new entry with how their relationship ended all that time ago.

There’s also a movie in development with Oscar Isaac attached as Solid Snake. Production has been moving forward slowly with the film adaptation, and it’s unclear if it is still in some form of active development. Sadly, many projects eventually land in development hell if there’s not enough push behind them. Still, here’s hoping it comes together and perhaps we finally get some update as part of this new tease for 2023.

  • RUMOR: Long-Rumored ‘Metal Gear Solid’ Remake May Be PS5 Exclusive

RUMOR: Long-Rumored ‘Metal Gear Solid’ Remake May Be PS5 Exclusive

There’s been quite a few rumors throughout the years about Metal Gear Solid making its return. While it seemed that the franchise creator Hideo Kojima was continuing work on his own projects, it was surprising that one of gaming’s biggest IPs wasn’t going to make a return at some point. The longest running rumor is that there’s been a remake of the original Metal Gear Solid in some form of production thoughout the years, not too dissimilar to the recently confirmed Silent Hill projects. Now, a Spanish site AreaJugones has seemingly revived that rumor oncea gain with a bit more info.

According to them, the upcoming remake of MGS might be exclusive to PlayStation 5 with an announcement potentially already on the horizon. There’s always a chance that something gets announced at The Game Awards this year, and a remake of this classic game would definitely be a big one. Though, Kojima has close ties to the award show’s creator Geoff Keighley and who knows if they might want to keep the focus on whatever Kojima is working on and has recently started to tease quite a bit.

What is worth noting is that there’s also . So, who knows which one this rumored adaptation might end up being or they are taking a different approach. The first entry isn’t famously long and they could take the approach to echo the stories of Solid Snake and future Big Boss. Even if this rumor doesn’t pan out,t here’s also the Oscar Isaac-led film remake that the actor last talked about back in March before it went silent once again. Here’s hoping that fans get something from this series at some point.

RUMOR: New Leaks Offer First Look at Long-Rumored ‘Silent Hill’ Revival

There have been quite a few rumors that a PlayStation exclusive Silent Hirumors that a PlayStation exclusive Silent Hills revival. It was initially expected to get an official announcement during last year’s Video Game Awards, but even with a few teases it was quite empty for fans of the iconic horror franchise. Now, it seems that a user by the name AestheticGamer has shared some images that could be part of the long-rumored Silent Hills game.

Video Game Chronicles has shared a few of the photos that seemingly hint at a strange room covered in post-it notes and a character that has cherry blossoms for hair. As there’s no official announcement, it’s hard to confirm if this is actually from that game or if someone went out of their way to create some very elaborate concept art, which has also been removed through a DMCA, adding to it being real potentially.

AestheticGamer also shared the following statement in regard to the images they put out:

There’s a lot I’m not sharing for now. This is from a relatively new source for me, but I have been given more than enough proof to believe them. I also will mention the names ‘Anita & Maya’, ‘SMS Messages’, and this is not the only Silent Hill game in development. The shots are a bit dated, from 2020, so maybe this project looks a bit different now. But [this is] what I’m choosing to share. I know many will doubt this, but I have a lot of private proof to show this is real, and as always I continue to wait on the Silent Hill game reveal

The fact that multiple Silent Hill games are in development is rather curious, but it could be a hint at mobile games or other ways to cash in on the game’s return. Silent Hill with VR or even remakes of the originals, especially to make up for what happened to Silent Hill 2 with the PS3 remaster, seem fitting additions to revive the franchise after a long hiatus since the release of Silent Hill: Downpour.

  • RUMOR: PS5’s ‘Silent Hill’ Game Still in Development at New Studio

RUMOR: PS5’s ‘Silent Hill’ Game Still in Development at New Studio

Silent Hill fans have been through a rollercoaster in the last year. Quite a few rumors were pointing to a brand new title being in development for Sony. Around six months ago, a group of well-known insiders leaked various info on a “Project 0” that may be in some form of development at Sony’s Japan Studio. There was mention of a reveal at last year’s The Game Awards that sadly never got realized. The new entry would be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, as Sony had full creative license over the Konami franchise. Keiichiro Toyama, the first game’s director, was returning alongside the second game’s composer Akira Yamaoka. In a way, it seemed almost too perfect before news on it sadly died down.

New starting piling up that made the rumors seem rather unlikely. Toyama left Sony and founded a new studio at the tail end of last year with Bokeh Game Studio. He is working on a new horror game and wants to keep his creative vision, which may be the reason he left Sony behind. On top of it all, Sony closed down its Japan Studio squashing any potential for the franchise to make a grand return.

Silent Hill wird in Kürze online verfügbar sein. Stimmt, in Dead by Daylight

Well, it seems that there might be some hope after all. Resetera leaker KatharsisT, who brought us the last bit of news on the game, has revealed that the game is still in some stage of development. He claims that the lack of announcement may be tied to the new studio taking over. He is hesitant to reveal which one.

Japan Studio was only rumored and never confirmed. We’ve seen studios co-operate in networks on games. So, the secondary studio could’ve taken over. Sadly, we still have to take this with a grain of salt, as there is no official word on Konami working closely with Sony or even an announcement of a new Silent Hill game being in development. We’ll hopefully get some kind of information this year if these rumors turn out to be true.
