    ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Set Photos Confirm the Inclusion of One of the Man Without Fear’s Most Deranged Villains

    Daredevil: Born Again underwent a significant creative overhaul that saw Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll and Wilson Bethel–all of whom starred in Marvel Television’s Daredevil–added to the cast. However, as production resumed in New York City, a new set photo confirms that one villain, long rumored to be part of the series, remained in the plans.

    A photo taken in the area of W50th to W52nd Street between 9th and 11th Avenues and shared by X user Finn, confirms that the serial killer Muse will indeed be involved in the events of Daredevil: Born Again. The set photo shows a graffitied mural of Wilson Fisk’s Kingpin and is clearly signed by Muse.

    Long rumored to be part of the Disney Plus series, Muse is a serial killer who uses his victims’ blood and body parts to create art. The character was first introduced in Charles Soule’s run on Daredevil, which is believed to be one source of inspiration for Daredevil: Born Again. In December 2022, actor Colin Woodell joined the cast of the show and it was widely speculated that he might be taking up the part of the deranged artist.

    In addition to confirming Muse’s presence in the project, other set photos shared by Finn show a Nelson, Murdock and Page sign hanging above what will clearly be the office space shared by the 3 in Daredevil: Born Again. The new firm was first drawn up by Foggy in Daredevil 3.13, “A New Napkin.”

    New Details on a Pair of ‘Born Again’ Roles Could Point a Tragic Ending for One Major Returning Character

    In 1998, Kevin Smith and Joe Quesada teamed up for an absolutely insane eight-episode Daredevil arc published under the Marvel Knights banner. That arc, known as “Guardian Devil”, took Matt Murdock on one hell of a ride that included brief team-ups with Black Widow and Doctor Strange as well as run-ins with Mephisto and Mysterio. Though Mysterio is revealed to be the mastermind behind the series of unfortunate events that befall Matt throughout the eight issues, it’s one of the most dangerous villains in his rogues gallery who does the majority of the damage: Bullseye.

    After going on a bit of a murderous rampage, the psycho killer squares off with Daredevil in the Clinton Mission Shelter where Karen Page finds herself involved in their fight. After Bullseye shoots Matt to gain the upper hand, Karen makes a deal to save Matt’s life but–as you’re certainly not shocked to find out–Bullseye reneges and as he’s making his exit takes his kill shot by launching one of Matt’s clubs at his chest. However, the projectile from the man that doesn’t miss found its home in the chest of Karen who sacrificed herself for Matt. It was a tragic and shocking turn of events in 1999’s Daredevil Vol. 2 #5 and now some new details about the roles of some returning characters could hint at it possibly being adapted into Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again.

    During a major creative overhaul on Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel Studios made the decision to retcon Marvel Television’s Netflix series into the MCU’s Sacred Timeline. As a result, new showrunner Dario Scardapane and new directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead were able to directly connect the new show to the events of the three seasons of Daredevil. Part of that meant bringing back even more familiar faces from the popular series including Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll and, most recently, Wilson Bethel. If you’ve yet to watch Netflix’s Daredevil, that means Foggy Nelson, Karen Page and Benjamin Pointdexter, aka Bullseye, are now set to appear in Daredevil: Born Again and a pair of reports has indicated that two of those characters are set for a limited role in the series which could portend some seriously bad things.

    According to Deadline, Bethel will return as Pointdexter for just three episodes. A separate report by insider Daniel RPK indicated that Woll’s role as Page in the series is limited to just three episodes as well. If you don’t subscribe to coincidence, you might start to think that the two characters’ three-episode appearances might overlap. While it’s highly unlikely that Daredevil: Born Again would adapt “Guardian Devil” in its entirety, it’s possible that the creatives behind it could be brave enough to establish Dex as a major thorn in Matt’s side by having him return as Bullseye and kill Karen. While most fans would likely name Kingpin as Matt’s archnemesis, Bullseye has always been his deadliest enemy. Having a totally unhinged Bullseye take Karen off the board would establish him as a major threat in the MCU and would definitely generate a social media shit storm that might never die down.

    Daredevil: Born Again is currently without a release date but some episodes are expected to stream in 2025.

    Bullseye! Wilson Bethel Returning for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

    After news broke that Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll were set to reprise their respective role, the creative overhaul of Marvel Studios Daredevil: Born Again has added another familiar face to the mix.

    According to Comic Book’s Adam Barnhardt, Wilson Bethel has now joined the cast of the Disney + streaming series.

    Following the release of the 5-episode streaming series Echo, Disney added the Netflix Defenders-verse series to the official MCU timeline. According to Vincent D’Onofrio, the decision to canonize those series came about during the creative overhaul on Daredevil: Born Again in the Fall of 2023.

    Barnhardt’s report did not include any details on what to expecfrom Bethel’s Benjamin Pointdexter. When last seen in the Season 3 finale of Daredevil, the character was undergoing an experimental spinal surgery to in an effort to repair the significant damage done to him at the hands of Fisk’s Kingpin.

    New ‘Deadpool 3’ BTS Photo May Tease the Return to a Major ‘Logan’ Location

    As Marvel Studios’ only 2024 film, the currently untitled Deadpool movie will certainly garner a significant amount of attention. With the July 26th release date just over 6 months away, production on the film has seemingly wrapped and fans are anticipating the first look at the film will come during Super Bowl LVIII. While there have been plenty of spoilery set photos, there are likely still plenty of surprises still in store for the audience, though star Ryan Reynolds may have just given another one away.

    In a recent Instagram story, Reynolds shared a black and white photo of a pair of chairs from the film’s set. The chairs, with the names Logan and Wade Wilson on them, are set in front of a corn field that looks like every other corn field…but they may just give away a key plot point from the film.

    Given that his character died in 2018’s Logan, Hugh Jackman’s return to the role immediately generated speculation that Deadpool 3 would end up retconning the events of the film in someway and it’s possible this new photo has revealed when and where. In Logan, Logan, Laura and Charles find themselves guests at the home of Will Munson, a corn farmer in Oklahoma City. It was at the Munson farm where the Logan clone, X-24, found the trio and fatally wounded Charles and killed the entire Munson family.

    Given all the plot rumors that state Wade will pluck Logan from the Logan timeline for their adventure in the Deadpool threequel, it seems VERY likely that this might be the point in time from which he plucks him. It’ll be interesting to see when Wade chooses to become an interloper as on one hand, he could pop up, kill X-24 and save Charles Xavier and the Munson family while on the other hand, he could take Logan after the damage has been done, leaving Laura to fend for herself.

    New Set Photos Emerge as Production on ‘Wonder Man’ Resumes

    Like Captain America: Brave New World and Daredevil: Born Again, Wonder Man was deemed to require a little creative overhaul after Marvel Studios had some time to reflect on the project during the WGA and SAG strikes. Originally set to resume production in late 2023, the steps taken to rework the series–which likely included a larger time commitment from creator and director Destin Daniel Cretton–took a bit longer than expected leading to bogus rumors that the series had been canceled. Bogus as they were, like much of the bullshit on the internet in modern times those rumors took hold and became a prominent belief among fans. Now those rumors have been completely dispelled as set photos of the Marvel Spotlight series have emerged from Los Angeles.

    X user @douglaszaldaaa posted several photos of a set being created for Wonder Man in Westwood, California. The photos indicate that some of the rumored plot points of the series seem to remain intact after the retooling.

    The photos reveal that the logline for the show revealed in early 2023 remains accurate and that lead character Simon Williams will be an in-universe Hollywood actor.

    Based on the character of Wonder Man, one of Marvel’s oldest characters, first introduced in 1964 in the pages of Avengers No 9. Known as Simon Williams, a celebrity actor and stuntman. In a nutshell, it is a story of two actors struggling to make it in the Hollywood of the MCU, [asking] the big question what does Hollywood look like in a world where super heroes are real?

    The new behind-the-scenes pictures show a set being constructed that will likely serve as the location of a big Hollywood premier for a “Wonder Man” movie. One of the set photos includes a silhouette of a classic Wonder Man costume which will obviously be part of the in-universe film.

    Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is set to bring Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man, to life and will share the screen with Ben Kingsley who will reprise the role of Trevor Slattery in the project. Demetrius Grosse was reportedly cast as Simon’s brother, Eric, also known as the comic book villain the Grim Reaper. Hollywood legend Ed Harris also reportedly joined the film as Neal Saroyan, Simon’s agent. It remains to be seen what changes to the cast, if any, follow the creative overhaul of the project.

    New Rumor Indicates Two Major ‘Daredevil’ Characters Will Now Return for ‘Born Again’

    After filming for several months, Marvel Studios Disney Plus streaming series Daredevil: Born Again paused production due to the SAG strike. Before it did, plenty of reports and rumors about the series made their way online including one that indicated two major supporting characters from the Netflix Dedenders-verse series were not part of the plans for the D+ show. Now, a new report suggests that’s changed.

    According the Jeff “The In” Sneider, Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll have joined the cast of Daredevil: Born Again as part of the sweeping creative overhaul ordered for the series.

    Henson and Woll, who played Foggy Nelson and Karen Page, respectively, were introduced in 2015’s Daredevil and had significant roles in that 3 seasons of that series while also appearing in other Netflix series, as well. Online fan response to them reportedly NOT returning for Daredevil: Born Again was largely negative. Sneider’s report did not indicate how large of a role the returning actors will have in the series

    After having time to review footage during the strike-induced shutdown, Kevin Feige and crew decided to change up the creative team on Daredevil: Born Again. Dario Scardapane was brought on as showrunner while Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead–who are quickly becoming Marvel Studios go-to-duo–were brought in to direct. According to Sneider, the new creative team will use the previously shot footage to put together 6 episodes. As production restarts, the plan is to film 3 new episodes–one of which will be a new “Episode 1”–giving them nine episode to roll out as the first half of the series.

    ‘Echo’: Critical Response to Marvel Studios’ First TV-MA Series Begins to Roll In

    Marvel Studios latest streaming series, Echo, was the subject of worrisome rumors both during and after its production. Rumors ranged from the show being cancelled to being totally reshot and just about anything youight imagine I’m between. Ultimately, it was cut down to five episodes and became the first MCU series to have all its episodes released all at once. Combined with the fact that advanced reviews for the series were embargoed until the same time the series released on Disney Plus and Hulu, all these factors had fans concerned that Echo was going to be a major critical disappointment. At this time, that hardly seems to be the case; in fact, the series has played relatively well with critics.

    As reviews continue to roll in on Rotten Tomatoes, Echo is piling up for positive reactions than not, sitting at 71% positive.

    Many critics are lauding the show’s use of its TV-MA rating and comparing it favorably to the streaming series created by Marvel TV for Netflix and in the mid-to-late 2010s. On that note, Echo’s 71% sits higher than both seasons of The Punisher (Seasons 1 and 2 ended up at 68% and 62%, respectively) and both seasons of the critically panned Iron Fist which was regarded as Netflix’s worst effort (Seasons 1 and 2 ended up at 20% and 55%, respectively).

    Critics are also praising star Alaqua Cox‘s performance as Maya Lopez and the supporting cast of Devery Jacobs, Chaske Spencer and Tantoo Cardinal leading the way. The ability to tell a personal story set in a corner of the MCU far away from the main events of the Multiverse Saga also allowed viewers the opportunity to not have to have much in the way of prior knowledge (indeed EVERYTHING needed to understand the series was shown in the series). With Marvel Studios creating a new production banner–Marvel Spotlight–for Echo, it seems more of these smaller scale stories are on the way.

    Marvel Studios Makes Massive Changes to the MCU’s Timeline Order

    While promoting Echo, Brad Winderbaum, Head of Streaming, Television and Animation Marvel Studios stirred up quite a bit of buzz when he shared his thoughts on if the events from the various Netflix Dedenders-verse series (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher) took place onthe MCU’s Sacred Timeline.


    “So, I can say that up until this point, we’ve been a little bit cagey about what’s Sacred Timeline and what’s not,” said Winderbaum. “That was born, frankly, out of a period at the studio where we were like ‘we have to stick the landing with Avengers.’ It was another part of the company developing the Netflix stuff; we were aware of what they were doing, they were aware of what we were doing, but it was a lot.. it was a lot to balance anyway,” he explained. “But now that some time has passed, now that we actually see how well-integrated the stories are, I personally, Brad Winderbaum, will confidently say that they are part of the Sacred Timeline.” And it was that last bit that left enough wiggle room available to keep the debate alive of whether or not those series, which were not produced by Marvel Studios should be considered as Sacred Timeline canon. Now it seems like the debate is settled.

    Accompanying the release of Echo, the studio’s first Marvel Spotlight production and its first TV-MA offering, the studio made massive changes to the Timeline Order subsection of the Marvel Studios channel on Disney Plus. Though it’s not yet updated in all regions, the studio has retroactively placed all 161 episodes of the Netflix series in the Infinity Saga.

    Daredevil and Jessica Jones are now located between Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders are now placed between Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War. And, finally, The Punisher is shown to be set after Spider-Man: Homecoming and before Doctor Strange.

    The changes have wreaked some havoc on the streaming service and it seems quite a few bugs are still being worked out.
