  • New ‘Multiversus’ Image Reveals ‘Gremlins’ Stripe and Black Adam as Playable Characters

New ‘Multiversus’ Image Reveals ‘Gremlins’ Stripe and Black Adam as Playable Characters

It looks like a new leak may have revealed the next two additions to Warner Bros. Multiversus. The latest Super Smash Bros. clone uses the vast library of the WB license to have characters from Game of Thrones, Adventure Time, DC Comics, and many more iconic franchises face off against each other. Now, it seems two more additions have been revealed in a newly leaked banner for the game.

It seems that the game is eyeing adding a character from Gremlins, Spike, as a playable character alongside DC Comic’s anti-hero Black Adam. The latter is definitely a perfectly timed addition with Dwayne Johnsonā€˜s upcoming film hitting theaters in the coming months. It’s also great to see such a cult classic like the 1984 horror film getting some representation. You can see the banner as shared by @InTheShadeMV here:

He has also uploaded a closer look at the two new additions in a new tweet that offers a better look at the details going into their designs:

It’s interesting that Black Adam is closer to his comic design rather than what he’ll look like in his film. Of course, it likely wouldn’t be cheap to get Dwayne Johnsonā€˜s likeness in the game. Though, they have recently added LeBron James as a playable character from the latest Space Jam film, which means that skin could be in the cards at some point. So, anything is possible with Multiversus right now.

  • Matthew Lillard Voicing Ultra Instinct Shaggy in ‘Multiversus’

Matthew Lillard Voicing Ultra Instinct Shaggy in ‘Multiversus’

Okay, he’s technically not called Ultra Instinct Shaggy but going by the initial trailer they are embracing the long-running joke. Still, it’s great to see Matthew Lillard continue his work as the popular Scooby-Doo character. After playing the character in the 2002 live-action version, he went on to become a mainstay in the franchise voicing him throughout most of the animated projects.

He was only noticeably absent in the animated movie SCOOB! where Will Forte took over the role. Well, he’s returning for the role in the new Warner Bros. Super Smash Bros. clone titled MultiVersus. They announced his return as the character in a new tweet.

They’ve added quite a few recognizable voices for the game, such as Maisie Williams returning to voice Arya Stark in the game. They even brought back other iconic voice actors to replay their roles from animated projects like Batman: The Animated Series, Steven Universe, and Adventure Time. The addition of Shaggy is a great touch given the long-running jokes about him secretly being the most powerful character across the multiverse.

They even recently referenced the ongoing joke in Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms. The franchise’s mascot Scorpion suddenly gets grabbed by an empowered Shaggy with an aura around him and Scooby before they are hidden away by the Warner Bros. logo once again. It’s been a joke for quite some time and it’s great to see the company embrace it.

  • Maisie Williams Reprises Role as Arya Stark in WB’s ‘Multiversus’ Game

Maisie Williams Reprises Role as Arya Stark in WB’s ‘Multiversus’ Game

After many rumors were hitting the web, we finally got the confirmation that Warner Bros. Multiversus game. The game will introduce a bunch of characters from various WB-owned projects like Scooby-Doo, DC Comics, Adventure Time, and more. Many voice actors are reprising their iconic roles, such as Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Kevin Conroy as Batman, Tara Strong as Harley Quinn, and many more. What is interesting is that while most of the cast has leaked some time ago, Game of Thronesā€˜ Arya Stark was a surprise addition. Not only that, it seems that Maisie Williams will also reprise the role she made famous in the HBO show for the new gaming franchise.

It’s great to see Williams return in the role, as it adds some authenticity to the game. They went out of their way to bring back some of the voice actors that made these characters iconic back. The designs are probably the biggest highlight, as they gave every character something that reminds you of Pixar. It blends the live-action characters like Arya seamlessly into a world where she’s beating up Steven Universe or Bugs Bunny. They promised more character reveals in the future. So, here’s hoping we won’t have to wait long until we can play Ultra Instinct Shaggy.

  • Warner Bros. Teasing the Announcement for their ‘Super Smash Bros.’ Clone

Warner Bros. Teasing the Announcement for their ‘Super Smash Bros.’ Clone

For some time now, we have gotten a tease for a potentially free-to-play fighting game featuring the vast characters from Warner Bros. library of intellectual properties. The Super Smash Bros. clone will supposedly be titled Multiversus, which will feature Rick, Shaggy, Batman, Gandalf, and many more according to a leaked roster. Well, it seems that the announcement might be imminent, as the official Looney Tunes Twitter account has teased that Bugs Bunny has vanished and tagged @wbgames suspiciously.

It looks like they aren’t the only ones trying to find their missing character, as shortly after Tom & Jerry has also highlighted their absence.

At this rate, it is safe to say that the announcement is probably coming by the end of the day, or at least before the week comes to an end. We’ll likely see other Twitter accounts like the DC account teasing their absence. It’s a clever way to set up the game’s roster. There are still many questions surrounding the project, as a F2P model would hint at micro-transactions being involved, purchasing future DLC characters, or how exactly it might play.

It’s described as a Super Smash Bros. clone and the timing is perfect as the most recent release ended its recent support with the addition of Kingdom Heartā€˜s Sora. Here’s hoping that they have some fun with the official teaser. They have quite a lot of their characters as costumes in theme parks. So, it would be quite fun to see them duke it out in tribute to the original Super Smash Bros. trailer where people in costumes beat each other up.

  • RUMOR: First Look at the Roster of Warner Bros. ‘Super Smash Bros.’ Clone Leaks

RUMOR: First Look at the Roster of Warner Bros. ‘Super Smash Bros.’ Clone Leaks

There’s been a rumor going around that Warner Bros. planned their own Super Smash Bros.-inspired game. They would pit the many iconic franchises under their belt in a new fighting game. The rumor is hinting at it’ll get the title Warner Bros. Multiversus and includes franchises like DC Comics, Rick and Morty, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, and many more. Up until today, it was simply just a rumor but a new leak by Twitter user @LiquidHbox offered a closer look at the game’s potential roster that includes Finn, Rick, Bugs Bunny, Gandalf, Batman, Steven Universe, and more.

What stands out is the art style for this project. Instead of relying on a realistic design that wouldn’t mesh well with their animated projects, they simply brought everyone into the same design that seems inspired by Fortnite. Harley Quinn’s design looks like it would fit perfectly into a new animated project. It reminds me a lot of Disney Infinity which gave every new character a Pixar-inspired design for the characters. Even the recent Nickelodeon Super Smash Bros. clone went with a unified design to make these characters fighting each other look as they belong into the same game.

Multiversus is also a great title. It’s incredible it hasn’t been used before given how simple and effective it is. Given WB’s extensive roster of properties, the included roster seems surprisingly small but there is a good chance this is just a part of the whole picture if it turns out real. LiquidHbox also uploaded a video but that was swiftly taken down, which adds more believability that there’s more to this project. Here’s hoping we get a reveal soon.
