Moses Ingram Confirmed as Inquisitor Reva in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’

Not too long ago, we’ve heard rumors that the infamous Inquisitors might make their live-action debut in the upcoming Disney+ series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. After a long bout of silence, Entertainment Weekly has not only revealed the first look but also confirmed that Moses Ingram is, in fact, playing Inquisitor Reva with a first look at her design from the upcoming series.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi

That’s not all, as it looks like we’ll also get our first live-action introduction to the Grand Inquisitor at some point in the story, who are part of Darth Vader’s corrupted team of Sith. Going by the promotion, it seems we might also explore Vera as on of the series’ main antagonists. Ingram had the following to say on the connection between Darth Vader, Reva, and the Grand Inquisitor:

They share a common dark-side goal. They’re on the same team.

The addition of Inquisitor’s is an exciting expansion of the Star Wars lore, especially in how it continues the trend of the Disney+ series carrying over elements from the animated series into live-action. Plus, who knows if it might also open the possibility of more spinoffs exploring Darth Vader’s attempt to expand the Empire with an Inquisitor trying to save the others after breaking free from the Sith’s influence.

  • New Private ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Twitter Account May Hint at Potential Trailer Release

New Private ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Twitter Account May Hint at Potential Trailer Release

Lucasfilm has been quite sparing with how much information they provide on their future Star Wars projects. It took what felt like an eternity before we found out when the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will finally find its way to Disney+. While it won’t release until late May, some eagle-eyed users have noticed that new Obi-Wan Kenobi Twitter and Instagram accounts have been created and are currently set to private.

As the accounts are currently locked, there’s no insight into what exactly they might be building up to, but it would imply that they’ll potentially share something on the project if they’ve already created the accounts. As Disney+ trailers tend to drop around three months ahead of the premiere and we already got the poster, there’s a good possibility.

The fact that the accounts exist is certainly a hint that Lucasfilm’s marketing department is getting ready to prepare some kind of advertising push. It’s still speculation for now, but here’s hoping after they teased us with that poster and release date dropped some time ago.

  • Ian McDiarmid Teases Potential Return of Emperor Palpatine in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’

Ian McDiarmid Teases Potential Return of Emperor Palpatine in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’

Now that The Book of Boba Fett came to an end, all eyes are already on Obi-Wan Kenobi to continue the momentum and offer us more from the Star Wars universe. We already know that Ewan McGregor‘s Obi-Wan will once again face off against Darth Vader with Hayden Christensen taking on the role again. The best part is he’s even set to return in Ahsoka. Yet, it looks like he’s not the only veteran who could be making a return in the upcoming film.

Reddit’s master sleuth u/drewton found a Weekend Extra article from last September, where Hugh Montgomery got a chance to interview the former Emperor Palpatine, Ian McDiarmid. In it, he seemingly teased that there might be a chance that he could also make a return in some capacity. He calls out Obi-Wan Kenobi explicitly to hint at a potential return in the iconic role, while also taking a jab at his encounter with Rey.

I think I have to accept that, thanks to my ungrateful granddaughter, my annihilation was finally final. [But] Of course, [Darth] Vader is back in the new [Obi-Wan Kenobi] television series, so I suppose it’s not impossible that one day his mentor might be discovered once again skulking in the shadows

    Ian McDiarmid

As the story takes place before A New Hope, it would make sense for the Emperor to make his return. We haven’t gotten a chance to explore his role after taking over and if Vader is just around the corner, he’s probably not too far off. If he makes a return, they hopefully focus on his relationship with Vader, who just recently became the machine he is today. Plus, we may get to explore the inner turmoil he may have to do the bidding of the man that pushed him to the dark side.

  • ‘Star Wars’ Veteran John Williams Returns to Compose ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Theme

‘Star Wars’ Veteran John Williams Returns to Compose ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Theme

It looks like it is official, as after quite a few rumors hinted at the iconic Star Wars composer John Williams would make his return to the classic universe. It seems they were right as Variety has confirmed his return and that he’ll be creating the theme for Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series. It’s fitting, as he was involved with the original prequel trilogy that defined Ewan McGregor‘s take on the character, and it’s been two years since he completed work on the ninth film of the franchise.

He has supposedly recorded it last week with the Los Angeles orchestra. It’s noteworthy that he is willing to tackle this project, as it is his first TV project since 1985’s Amazing Stories. and the NBC Olympics theme. The composer won an Oscar for his work on 1977 original and has been nominated for its five sequels over the years. He also was heavily involved with the theme for Solo: A Star Wars Story and Disneyland’s Galaxy Edge theme park. He even won a Grammy for the latter.

The composer just turned 90 a few days ago and continues to work to this day. It’s an admirable dedication to his craft, as he composed Steven Spielberg’s next film The Fabermans, and is involved with the fifth Indiana Jones. His inclusion in Obi-Wan Kenobi also adds that extra touch as this series is a bridge between the prequels and A New Hope, for which he created a theme for Alec Guinness time with the character. So, it’ll be exciting to hear what he has in store for us.

  • Disney Plus ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Series Premiere Date Revealed

Disney Plus ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Series Premiere Date Revealed

As The Book of Boba Fett comes to an end, Disney Plus has turned the page to the next Star Wars streaming series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. After months of speculation, an official release date for the Ewan McGregor-led streamer has been revealed. After a long wait, the series will finally make its way to Disney+ on May 25th. It also confirms recent rumors that hinted at the series making its debut sometime in May.

It’s still surprising they wouldn’t want to bank on May 4th landing on a Wednesday, but they have been planning in breaks between their various Disney+ shows, especially with Moon Knight making its debut at the end of March. So, we’ll have a bit of a break after the Marvel Studios series premieres its finale.

The logo is also given a slight adaptation, as you can see it falling apart into the sand, especially with the first poster showcasing the Jedi wandering the desert of Tatooine. We just spent quite a bit of time on the planet throughout The Book of Boba Fett. So, hopefully, we might also get to visit different locations throughout the series run.

  • REPORT: Rupert Friend Will Play The Grand Inquisitor in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’

REPORT: Rupert Friend Will Play The Grand Inquisitor in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’

The world of Star Wars is growing more connected with each passing project. A new report from The Bespin Bulletin is claiming that Rupert Friend will portray The Grand Inquisitor in the highly-anticipated Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. The character, a favorite villain among fans of the franchise, previously served as the main antagonist of Star Wars: Rebels‘ first season. He will supposedly appear in Kenobi alongside two other Inquisitors, played by Sung Kang and Moses Ingram. It was reported several months ago that Kang would be playing the Fifth Brother in the series, also of Rebels fame, though it would seem that Ingram‘s character is still unknown. Bespin speculates that she could be establishing an original Inquisitor for the show.

The information comes after one source told the Bulletin that Friend was spotted on set in makeup and wardrobe shockingly similar to the Grand Inquisitor, while another told the outlet outright that the former Hitman star was taking on the increasingly iconic role. For the uninitiated, Inquisitors are a group of lightsaber-wielding, Dark Side Force users employed by the Empire to hunt down and terminate the Jedi who survived Order 66. The Grand Inquisitor, who has been voiced by the legendary Jason Isaacs in his animated appearances, was once their leader, before meeting his demise in a battle with Freddie Prinze Jr.‘s Kanan Jarrus. As Kenobi takes place before Rebels, it’s likely the character will appear on a mission to find Ewan McGregor‘s Jedi Master and ensure the Emperor of his death. However, only time will tell if this turns out to be accurate.

There is no current release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi.

  • New Report Further Hints at ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Releasing in May on Disney+

New Report Further Hints at ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Releasing in May on Disney+

Earlier today, we discussed a rumor of a Disney+ exec’s deleted tweet that hinted at a May release of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Of course, the tweet was swiftly deleted and hinted that it was in reference to the comic series that was recently announced. Now, a new report by THR’s Heat Vision blog has added even more fire to the rumor as they stated their sources are corroborating that it’s eyeing a May release.

Naturally, they state that this shouldn’t be taken as an official confirmation, as discussion on its eventual release can always change. We don’t know how far the project is along, and it’s likely that they are still trying to ensure the effects are ready for its release. Still, the fact May 4th, the official Star Wars Day, landing on a Wednesday seems like the perfect opportunity for a fitting release date.

There’s a lot of excitement that the upcoming adaptation once again sees the return of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, who will once again clash as Kenobi and Darth Vader. It’ll be interesting to see how exactly the series might balance their connection and also hint at his eventual fate in A New Hope. I guess we’ll have to wait just a bit longer until we find out what exactly the future has in store for us once we get an actual first trailer.

  • RUMOR: Disney+ Exec May Have Hinted at ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Disney+ Release

RUMOR: Disney+ Exec May Have Hinted at ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Disney+ Release

We’ve all been wondering when we might expect the release of Lucasfilm’s next Disney+ series. Of course, there is still one more episode to go for The Book of Boba Fett, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t excited for what the future has in store, especially with how many series are currently being worked on. The obvious next release would be Ewan McGregor‘s return in Obi-Wan Kenobi, as it was the only project to get a teaser during Disney+ Day. In a now-deleted tweet by a Disney+ exec, we may have gotten a tease of when it may potentially release.

    Kenobi Tweet

He did go on to delete the original tweet and pointed out that it was for a different announcement, which turned out to be a Marvel comic focused on Obi-Wan heading for a May release. The wording of “Disney+” in the tweet is the odd inclusion, but there’s a chance that there was a mix-up with what was announced at the time. Of course, the timing of a comic release also seems fitting to find its way online alongside the Disney+ release.

We still have to wait just a tad longer until we find out when Kenobi may finally release. May 4th, also known as Star Wars Day to fans, falls on a Wednesday this year, which is the usual Disney+ release window for any series. So, it certainly seems like the perfect fit for that day. We may even get the first teaser at the end of The Book of Boba Fett similar to how The Mandalorian teased the release of its first spinoff after the TV show’s credits. So, we’ll see what the next week has in store for us.
