‘X-Men ’97’ Revaled as Title of Animated Series Revival for Disney Plus

More details on the X-Men animated series revival at D+ have arrived

Yesterday, KC Walsh of GWW exclusively revealed that the beloved 90’s X-Men: The Animated Series was headed to Disney Plus. Today, a trade report filled in further details about what to expect from the new series, titled X-Men ’97.

The series will indeed be a revival of the 90’s series, continuing the stories told over its 5 seasons. Original voice actors Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith and Alyson Court will be returning to work on the series, though it was not clear which would be returning in their original roles and which would be taking on new ones. They are set to be joined by new voice cast members including Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie, Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett and AJ LoCascio.

The new series, which is in production now for a 2023 debut, will be headed up by Beau DeMayo, who wrote the script for the Netflix animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
