Announced during San Diego Comic-Con, DC revealed Absolute Black Canary #1, a brand-new spotlight one-shot spinning directly out of the events of Absolute Green Arrow. Written by Absolute Green Arrow showrunner Pornsak Pichetshote and featuring stunning art by Belén Ortega (Catwoman, Patriarch), the book gives executive protection specialist Dinah Lance her own dedicated showcase.

Following the recent news that Absolute Green Arrow was officially extended from a six-issue miniseries into a 12-issue maxiseries, Absolute Black Canary #1 serves a crucial narrative role. The issue is designed to bridge the gap directly between Issue #6 and Issue #7, giving readers a deep-dive look at Dinah’s perspective while giving the primary series art team time to prep for Act Two.
