Charlie Cox shares Thoughts on Potential Recasting of Foggy Nelson and Karen Page in ‘Daredevil’ Disney+ Series

Daredevil is back, but with the exception of Vincent D’Onofrio, there’s not much known about the original caste from the Netflix era. Elden Henson played Matt Murdock’s best friend Foggy Nelson while Deborah Ann Woll took on the role of Karen Page. While Charlie Cox did make his return to the MCU with a new Daredevil series Born Again heading to Disney, there’s not much word about the rest of the original cast.

As shared on Twitter by user @sameperfectlive, Cox got a chance to tlak about a potential recasting and shared his thoughts on how he views his work on the original show with Henson and Woll. If he has anything to say, it seems they’d definitely once again return to their iconic roles.

I don’t know what’s going to happen with the other characters in the new show. But, I know for a fact that Elden and Deborah were the heartbeat of what we did before and the show is a success because of them.

    Charlie Cox

Of course, there’s no official casting announcement just yet, and we don’t know how much this series will take from his original adventure in the three Netflix seasons as well as The Defenders spinoff. They are also available on Disney+, but Marvel Studios is not restricted to follow exactly how they set everything up.

Born Again is set to be the longest-running Disney+ series by Marvel Studios, which does open up more opportunities to explore their characters. If they do continue where the original left off, they could’ve easily focused more on the trio’s new agency once again. For now, we can only hope that an announcement comes soon.

  • Kevin Feige Teases More Mutants in the MCU’s Near Future

Kevin Feige Teases More Mutants in the MCU’s Near Future

The Mutants are coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While some theories expected a longer wait with the iconic Marvel characters to appear after the Multiverse Saga has come to an end, but Marvel Studios is going at it one step at a time. We first met a familiar face in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with the 90s theme, which was later used to recontextualize a reveal in Ms. Marvel.

Now, we have the word once again spoken by Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; the first to be well-aware of his mutant status in the MCU given how different he is from his own people of Talocan. During the Q&A after the CCXP event showcasing Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked on if we can expect more mutants in the near future and he definitely seemed optimistic

No, look, we’ve already met a few. There’s a new Mutant named Namor that you might’ve met recently. So, more to come.

    Kevin Feige

Of course, the head of the production company is not going to give away what we can expect. We do know that Deadpool 3 will give Hugh Jackman one more chance to play Wolverine; hopefully finally wearing his iconic outfit. And, there are many opportunities to slowly introduce various versions of these characters throughout upcoming projects. Now, we just have to wait and see if the X-Men will get their time int he spotlight or if they even existed throughout MCU’s history to begin with.

  • ‘John Wick’ Writer to Adapt ‘SIFU’ into Live-Action

‘John Wick’ Writer to Adapt ‘SIFU’ into Live-Action

It looks like Sloclap is ready to adapt their recently released game SIFU into a live-action feature. They’ve decided to partner with Story Kitchen to bring the project to life, whose partner Derek Kolstad, who many might know from his work on John Wick, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Nobody, and many more, to adapt the script. Dmitri M. Johnson is set to produce the project alongside Mike Godlberg, Dan Jevons, and Timothy I. Stevenson for Story Kitchen. Kolstad naturally also is on board as a producer.

It’s unclear how they’ll adapt the story, as its main “concept” was built around a gamification element. It’s a revenge story taking place in modern China, where a student of a martial arts school witnesses the murder of his mentor and goes on a revenge-filled spree to take those down responsible for his death. It’s built around the gimmick that he has a magical talisman that revives him but t the price of him growing older.

The game was a big success and even went on to get nominated for quite a few awards. The main premise of SIFU is perfect for a film but it’ll be interesting to see how they adapt the concept of him being revived but only older. They could go for a Groundhog Day-inspired story or simply have him come back but visibly older.

It also raises the question if the main star might be cast in different age groups, or they’ll heavily rely on aging or de-aging technology and practical effects to keep the same actor. Whatever direction they might go, Kolstad‘s work is definitely a showcase that they have the right man for the job.

  • Margot Robbie’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Spinoff Not Dead Yet

Margot Robbie’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Spinoff Not Dead Yet

Margot Robbie shocked the world when last month she revealed that her Pirates of the Caribbean spinoff film was no longer happening. As the franchise moved away from its main star due to Johnny Depp‘s trial, Disney was seemingly all-in with a new direction for the franchise and a fresh face. Robbie is the perfect choice to lead any new franchise and it being dead before it even got started was a shame.

As it turns out though, Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer seeemingly confirms that they are still developing the project alongside multiple Pirates projects. At this point, it’s all about the script coming together that may rejuvinate the project once more given enough time.

I think that that script will come forward at a certain point. We developed two different stories for ‘Pirates’ and the other one’s going forward first, so that’s what we’re working on, to try to get that one made.

    Jerry Bruckheimer

We first heard about the project back in 2020 with two projects in development. One was with Robbie leading the charge and another that had Ted Elliot and Craig Mazin attached to write, which would act as a second reboot. Bruckheimer worked on all previous entries of the Pirates franchise and sadly it seems that it’s not quite picking up development as hoped.

At this point, it does seem like they are focusing work on the one led by Robbie but if that script doesn’t truly come together, she may jump ship if she already believes that the project is dead. For now, we’ll have to keep waiting until they truly move forward.

  • CCXP: First ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Trailer Offers First Look at Lylla

CCXP: First ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Trailer Offers First Look at Lylla

If there ever was a character that has been long-rumored to join Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it was Lylla. Ever since the first hint dropped that the project would focus more on Rocket and his past, the concept of his soulmate making her live-action debut seemed to be a logical addition to James Gunn‘s final ride with the characters. While her exact role is uncertain, the first trailer has finally trailer dropped during CCXP with a first look at what Gunn has to offer.

Among the many memorable moments throughout the trailer, we get a good look at Rocket hugging his soulmate. There’s no word on who might be voicing her, but it’s definitely great to know that she’ll appear especially with the uncertainty on who might make it out of this film given the darker tones hinted throughout production. No matter what, it’s exciting to know that she’ll finally appear and we get to explore more of Rocket in the third installment.

  • RUMOR: Marvel Studios Long-Rumored ‘Scarlet Witch’ Spinoff Not Happening After All

RUMOR: Marvel Studios Long-Rumored ‘Scarlet Witch’ Spinoff Not Happening After All

There have been rumors after rumors on Wanda Maximoff getting her own project at some point. WandaVision was Marvel Studios’ first venture into Disney+ and has seemingly spawned two spinoffs with Agatha: Coven of Chaos and the recently reported Vision Quest. Yet, according to The DisInsider’s latest Rumor of the Week–this time shared via an article rather then their usual podcast–it seems that the long-rumored Scarlet Witch spinoff project is not currently in any form of development.

As they shared, it’s a “Rumor of the Week” and it could still be in an early form of development. Of course, they may want to simply focus primarily on the current projects that are already continuing the story set up in WandaVision, especially after Wanda was seemingly killed off Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. We know that it’s very unlikely and DisInsider’s Derek Cornell does hint that Elizabeth Olsen may appear in at least one episode of Agatha.

He also believes she’ll be back in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. So, perhaps one of the spinoff projects will lead into her return and we find out what happened to the Scarlet Witch after the events of that film. They have many possibilites in how they expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe and there’s always a possibility to return to this project at a later point. She’s an important part of the multiverse concept in the comicsa, and the Multiverse Saga has just begun.

  • CCXP: ‘Indana Jones 5’s Title Finally Revealed

CCXP: ‘Indana Jones 5’s Title Finally Revealed

There have been a lot of theories on the web about what exactly might be the subtitle for the latest entry of Indiana Jones. For quite some time, Lucasfilm and director James Mangold have simply referred it as Indiana Jones, which is a possibility given how some film continuations simply share the same title as the first entry, such as the new Scream film. Yet, it seems that during CCXP 22, we’ve finally gotten a title.

It seems the film will go with Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny. What exactly that “dial” is will haunt our theories until it releases in theaters, but it’s great to see the naming trend continue for the franchise. Destiny is also a fitting addition if you consider that this story will explore events from Jones’ use connect with the return of the Nazis now in the middle of the Space Race. Perhaps that dial could be the answer to who wins.

  • ‘Twisted Metal’ Producer Promises “Balls-out Fun and Craziness”

‘Twisted Metal’ Producer Promises “Balls-out Fun and Craziness”

Video games are once again all the rage and Peacock, one of the many new streaming services trying to put their name on the map, has been inspired to tackle an unlikely adaptation. They are set to bring the iconic Twisted Metal games eries to life, and it seems that they’re take will be strongly inspired by Zombieland due to the adaptation also being written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.

PlayStaiton Studios Senior Producer Carter Swan promises that the upcoming film will have all the “balls-out fun and craziness” that the original gaming series did. He goes on to highlight that Reese and Wernick are able to kind of take these violent, ridiculous things and make them fun. Zombieland’s a good barometer if you look at what happens in that movie as to what we could do.” It definitely sounds like they’ll have a lot of fun with the adaptation by showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith, which will star Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Will Arnett, and more.

  • ‘Ironheart’ Star Teases Riri Williams Post-‘Wakanda Forever’ Journey

‘Ironheart’ Star Teases Riri Williams Post-‘Wakanda Forever’ Journey

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has introduced the world to Dominique Thorne‘s Riri Williams. A young, talented engineer that develops her own version of the iconic Iron Man armor and becomes the hero known as Ironheart. Not only did she have a major part in the latest Black Panther movie, but she’ll also get her own Disney+ series.

In a new interview with Collider, Thorne shares what will make the character stand out from her introduction, we’ll actually get to meet her in her own element. It’s a great sentiment as we meet her while being threatened by Talocan’s god-like leader and dragged along by Wakandans, or as she points it out as “when life is leading her.”

And also we’re getting to see her in her element, which is quite literally the opposite of what we saw of her in Wakanda Forever. We’ll get more time to see what the other colors are and to see how she leads her life, rather than how she is when life is leading her.

    Dominique Thorne

The series will also see her continue her work on her new armor. Even while she built a comic-accureate design in Wakanda Forever, she couldn’t just run around with a Vibranium-infused suit of armor. So, she’ll be back to where she started and forced to build upon to create her dream project. Now, she just has more experience and with an unlikely threat on the horizon, she’ll have to figure out something fast.

  • ‘Dune’ Prequel Series Adds Mark Strong, Chris Mason, and Jade Anouka

‘Dune’ Prequel Series Adds Mark Strong, Chris Mason, and Jade Anouka

Director Denis Villeneuve has been quite busy on the sequel to last year’s Dune. Yet, they have many more plans for this franchise as the upcoming HBO Max series has been busy working on the prequel series Dune: The Sisterhood. It’s based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson which takes place 10,000 years before the original novels and film. Now, the story has seemingly found its next batch of actors.

Acting legend Mark Strong is joining the project as Emperor Javicco Corrino, who is “a man from a great line of war-time Emperors, who is called upon to govern the Imperium and manage a fragile peace.” Jade Anouka has also joined the project as Sister Theodosia, who “harbors a dangerous secret about her past.” while Chris Mason will take on the role of Keiran Atreides, “a Swordmaster to a Great House whose ambition to live up to his family name is disrupted when he forms an unexpected connection to a member of the royal family.”

The serise already has an impressive cast that consists of Indira Varma, Travis Fimmel, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Aoife Hinds, Chloe Lea, and many more. Diane Ademu-John is working on the project as an executive producer, but passed on the showrunner duties to Alison Schapker. With the introduction of a member of the Atreides family, it’ll be interesting if they still want to set up seeds that connect the project to the original films even if 10,000 years set it apart.
