    Hugh Jackman May Have Revealed ‘Deadpool 3’s New Title

    For some time now, there have been many hints that the third entry in the Deadpool franchise may not get a numbered entry. It made sense given that this entry wills and out from the previous entries, as Ryan Reynolds‘ take on the Merc with a Mouth will make his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not just that, but it’ll also see the grand return of Hugh Jackman back in the role of Wolverine, who was teased to have a major role in the sequel.

    In a new video, Jackman seemingly hints at what might be the official title for the Deadpool threequel, as he explicitly references “Wolverine & Deadpool” while discussing his fear of Reynolds winning an award he’ll hold over his head throughout production. Reynolds has reacted to the video by jokingly questioning the fact that Wolverine is getting top billing.

    While the title makes sense given that it was something we’ve seen in the comics s well, it’s not definite. It was confirmed that this is the third Deadpool film, which would mean his getting top billing makes the most sense. Though, Wolverine pushing him out in his own film would make for a perfect jumping-off point in their marketing strategy to mock the fact that it even happened to him.

    We also shouldn’t forget that these projects go through quite a few changes once the camera starts rolling. So, who knows if they might adapt or change the title throughout its production. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what the future has in store and perhaps they’ll unveil a new logo once the camera start rolling.

    The Last of Us is almost here, as HBO brings the iconic gaming franchise to life. While they originally planned for it to be a film adaptation, Chernobyl‘s Craig Mazin ended up becoming an important part of pushing it toward a full-on HBO series. Now, we’re about to see Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey bring the iconic roles of Joel and Ellie to life. Surprisingly though, it seems that actress Ramsey was hesitant to take on the role.

    I seriously considered that maybe I don’t want to be famous so I’m not going to do this show because it’s going to propel me to a place I don’t want to go to in terms of being seen and being known. I like to blend in and hide.

    Yet, it seems that Neil Druckmann, the creator of the original game series, instantly saw Ellie in her, which led to her getting the role for the HBO adaptation within a short period of time.

    Bella felt so real. It was like Ellie realized in live action. It didn’t feel like watching an actor.

    We still have a little time before we get to see what Druckmann saw, but the teasers and trailers have been promising. She has the same energy that the character had in the original game, but she also has proven to have the range that may lead to an adaptation of the second season as well.

    ‘The Bad Batch’ Producer Discusses Potential of Omega and Boba Fett Meeting

    As Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch finally premieres, fans of the franchise eagerly look toward how the events of the show will play into the larger tapestry of Star Wars. One major pathway would likely come in the form of Omega, a rare unique clone that deviated from the specific genetics of Jango Fett. The only other in the same universe is the popular character of Boba Fett. Naturally, this has led to some desire from the audience to see the two characters interact at some point in the animated series.

    However, fans shouldn’t expect to see an interaction between the two happen any time soon. In an interview with the Direct, Bad Batch producer and season two premiere writer Jennifer Corbett spoke about this possibility and why they won’t be capitalizing on it in their show.

    I think a lot of people want that because they are brother and sister but it’s important for her, at this point in her life, and where her journey is – she’s at a very different place than where Boba is right now. So we just really wanted to focus on her growth and her interactions with her found family versus the trajectory that Boba’s currently on. But, you know, never say never.

    This is a logical reason to hold off on any interaction between Omega and Boba Fett. It’s important for both Omega and Star Wars: The Bad Batch to find their own identity without being ensconced into specific lore of the franchise, something that Star Wars has sometimes struggled with in the past. Allowing Omega to grow solely through her relationships with Clone Force 99 will only make her that much of a strong character in the universe. And at that point, the creative forces for the show should only then consider a meeting of the de facto siblings (which is likely too tantalizing to turn down at some point in the timeline).

    The first two episodes of the second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch are now currently available to watch on Disney+.

    ‘Glass Onion’ Already Among Netflix’s Most-Watched Films

    Perhaps the $450M investment was worth every penny after all, as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has already broken some records over on Netflix. As of now, the film has already entered the top 10 most popular films of all time for the streamer, as it has pulled in 209.4M hours watched since its release on December 23rd. It has edged out The Kissing Booth from its position to become the 10th most-viewed film of all time for the service, and that within such a short amount of time.

    2021’s Red Notice still remains the number one most-watched film at 364M, but there’s a chance that if Glass Onion keeps up its current pace, it could become the first competition for the throne. It should also be noted that Knives Out also entered the Top 10 with around 17 million hours watched; showcasing the draw this film has for many to revisit the previous entry and a smart way to keep people rewatching what came before by making them Netflix exclusives.

    At this rate, Glass Onion has confirmed Netflix’s suspicion that there’s a lot of interest in the whodunnit franchise. Hopefully, a third entry could keep up this momentum and also inspire director Rian Johnson to continue beyond just a simple trilogy. He has hinted that this franchise was meant more like a unique story with only Benoit Blanc truly connecting them which gives him many chances to establish an ever-growing franchise that doesn’t abide by any specific rules.

    Debra Jo Rupp Joins ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’

    Debra Jo Rupp (That ’70s Show) who had a small role in 2021’s WandaVision has been reported to have joined the cast of Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

    Rupp appeared in several episodes of WandaVision as Mrs. Hart, within the Hex, and citizen Sharon Davis when it was lifted. It’s presumed she will reprise her role as a citizen of Westview in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, which will focus on Kathryn Hahn’s wicked witch. Rupp is the second actress who played a citizen of Westview in WandaVision to join the cast of Coven of Chaos, joining Emma Caulfield.

    Originally slated for a late 2023/early 2024 release, Coven of Chaos was not featured on a recent update to 2023 projects, leading to the belief it has been pushed to at least 2024.

    Reason for ‘House of the Dragon’ Showrunner’s Departure Revealed

    Shortly before the first season of House of the Dragon aired, one of its showrunners, Miguel Sapochnik, left the series. At the time, it left many scratching their heads on why exactly he ended up leaving the sure-fire hit series behind but most assumed he might have other projects he’s looking forward to tackle. Yet, it seems that the story is quite a bit different than initially expected.

    Puck has revealed that the reason Sapochnik left House of the Dragon was due to his wife, Alexis Raben. HB seemingly denied her request of once again joining the producing team for the next season, which is surprising considering she already had a role in the first. She also appeared throughout four episodes of the series, but it seems that not allowing her to join the production was his main reason for leaving the HBO series.

    There might be more details to the reasoning he left and why HBO would deny her involvement, but the show is still moving forward with a second season. Sapochnik’s farewell to the project was shared in a more positive light, but that could’ve just been a way to ensure this information doesn’t find its way online. It should be noted that Alan Taylor, a long-time Game of Thrones veteran, has joined the production around the time Sapochnik‘s leave was announced, but Ryan Condal remains as its sole showrunner now.

    New Report Debunks ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Potentially Leaving Netflix

    Netflix has already been in the news for canceling another one of their major releases, but a report indicated it might even lose its biggest new release yet. The Addams Family reinterpretation took Wednesday Addams out of her usual family dynamic and put her in the middle of a murder mystery storyline at a boarding school. It was a massive hit with viewers and ended up even competing with Stranger Things for who holds the crown of most viewed series in its premiere week.

    Yet, there was some uncertainty with Wednesday due to MGM being involved with the production. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s recent purchase by Amazon had some wondering if they might want to bring this hit series to their own streaming service, Prime Video. A report by The Independent hinted at this being a grim possibility, but a new article by IndieWire seemingly debunks these claims.

    They highlight that the deal between Netflix and MGM was done long before the studio was purchased. While they acknowledge that it’s not unheard of that a series jump to a different streaming service, but that this may simply be reactionary to the lack of renewal for the hit series. The various cancelations simply add to that usual concern similar to how theories started to make the rounds when The Sandman’s renewal was dragged out by the streamer. For now, it seems like the series is safe on Netflix and we’ll just have to wait for

    ‘The Flash’s Final Season to Feature Some Familiar Faces

    It’s still crazy to think that The Flash is coming to an end. After nine seasons filled with highs and lows, the CW series that continued the mantle started by Arrow. Yet, it seems the final season is going to include quite a few familiar faces to showcase the “finality” of the series.

    In a new piece by Deadline, it seems that Keiynan Lonsdale, who played Wally West and would eventually become Kid Flash, will return to reprise his role. David Ramsay is also set to once again play John Diggle in the season, who is also currently working on a new spinoff set in the Arrowverse.

    That is not all, as one of the main villains is also set to return with Sendhil Ramamurthy, who played the series’ take on Bloodwork, is also set to reprise his role. All three are set to appear in the upcoming ninth episode of the final season. Executive producer Eric Wallace shared the following statement on Diggles’ return.

    As one of the legacy Arrowverse characters who helped start it all, John Diggle holds a special place in our hearts, as well as the fans. Plus, the commanding presence and commitment to excellence actor/director David Ramsey brings to the screen each-and every time is truly inspiring. So, of course, it was a no-brainer to have Diggle join Team Flash in our final season! So, get ready for a very emotional reunion as John Diggle aka Spartan helps protect Central City alongside Team Flash one, last time

    He also goes on to highlight the excitement of having Kid Flash back once again; teasing the story they set up for his return.

    Lastly, they also highlighted Ramamruthy‘s return as Ramsey Rosso, highlighting that they always intended to return in the final confrontation for the Scarlet Speedster.

    Ever since Sendhil turned in such a brilliantly haunting and unforgettable performance as the tortured Ramsey Rosso in Season Six, we’ve been looking for a way to bring him back. We also knew we wanted to have Ramsey play a part in Flash’s final race. Fortunately, everything came together and now the villainous Bloodwork’s return will set into motion one of the Flash’s wildest and most emotional adventures yet.

    It’s definitely looking like they are ramping up for a grand finale, and it’ll be a shame to say goodbye to Grant Gustin‘s tenure as the speedster, but it does open him up to chase other roles moving forward.

    The next 20th Century Studios production is making its way to Hulu, as the upcoming true-crime thriller from director Matt Ruskin is heading to Hulu on March 17, 2023. Boston Strangler explores the story of reporter Loretta McLaughlin (Keira Knightley), who is hot on the heels of the Boston Strangler murders. With the help of her colleague Jean Cole, played by Carrie Coon, they fight their way through the sexism of the era to stop a killer at their own personal risk.

    The film is set to premiere on Hulu in the United States with Disney+ and Star+ in international territories as part of the Star banner. The film has a star-studded cast as joining Knightley and Coon is Bill Camp, David Dastmalchian, Alessandro Nivola, Morgen Spector, and Chris Cooper. In the producing chair are Ridley Scott, Kevin J. Walsh, Josey McNamara, Michael Pruss, and Tom Ackerley.

    Hulu has slowly been becoming the home for many of Disney’s 20th Century Studios productions. It’s a shame it’s not getting a theatrical release as it is set as a streaming exclusive, but that has proven successful for Disney throughout the pandemic and in 2022 with projects like Prey, Hellraiser, and more. It’ll be interesting to see what Boston Strangler brings to the table, especially in a desperate need for more crime-thriller films. So, it’ll be worth keeping a close eye on the upcoming first trailer for the film set for its March 17th release.

    ‘Knives Out’ Director Talks Challenge of Benoit Blanc Meeting the Muppets

    Glass Onion has just been released on Netflix, but all the talk surrounding the film has slowly evolved into a recurring gag of Daniel Craig‘s Benoit Blanc meeting the Muppets. The Disney-owned, Jim Henson-created group of colorful characters hasn’t had a true project in a while and they are no stranger to being added to various projects for the delight of the Internet. After recently sharing his joy on the project, director Rian Johnson has now offered some insight into the challenge of bringing this joke to life.

    I think those two things have very different rules. You can either have a Benoit Blanc mystery that has Muppets in it, but they’ll feel out of place. Or you can have a Muppet movie that Benoit Blanc is in, but it’ll feel like a Muppet movie.

    He goes on to highlight that the challenge is then to pick a route on how this project comes together, highlighting that he doesn’t “want to compromise either” type of film that it could potentially be.

    I wouldn’t want to compromise either of them. And I feel like in order to make it well and make it work, you’d have to make a choice and compromise one or the other. If I ever make a Muppet movie, I just want to make a great Muppet movie.

    He does jokingly end the piece by Tudum that he still wouldn’t want to reveal who’d be the murderer just in case he ever does find a way to balance the stories to bring this type of concept to life. He doesn’t say it’s impossible but it definitely isn’t what we should expect as the next entry after Glass Onion.
