  • CCXP: Willem Dafoe Teases ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’s New Green Goblin Costume

CCXP: Willem Dafoe Teases ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’s New Green Goblin Costume

CCXP has been quite the event. Not only did we get a new trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, but we even got a clip from Morbius. Now, with Spider-Man: No Way Home on the horizon they couldn’t leave that project out either. While we didn’t get a clip or even a new teaser, they did feature a villain’s panel with Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. The Spider-Man veterans are making a grand return in the upcoming film and Dafoe shares a few insights into his new costume for the film.

Costumes are much more comfortable than they were before. I remember the initial fitting to create the costume for the Green Goblin, I stood there for eight hours and they put different pre-formed pieces on me. Now, they scan me and they can design it and then make the costume and then try it on me. It’s a huge leap in the technology and they’re more flexible. We can do more things with them.

    Willem Dafoe

Technology has definitely come a long way with how they can tackle elements on set. Doc Ock actor Alfred Molina highlighted that his tentacles are fully CGI this time around, which highlights how far it has come. Dafoe did have some fun and teased that there are some new elements we can expect about his costume in the upcoming threequel.

Also, I don’t know how much we want to fool with spoilers, but the looks a little different. Old Norman and the Goblin are further down the line and they have a few more tricks up their sleeves. […] There’s been upgrades on the costumes, I would say.

    Willem Dafoe

We’ve gotten a glimpse of the costume and even see that he’ll lose the iconic mask at a later point. It’ll be interesting to see what these “tricks” are that he is teasing, which seem quite on-brand for the Green Goblin. Who knows how much he’ll make Peter Parker’s life a living hell once he gets his hands on him in the threequel.

  • Miles Morales Will Meet “a Lot of New” Friends “Across the Spider-Verse”

Miles Morales Will Meet “a Lot of New” Friends “Across the Spider-Verse”

Right after the first trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – Part 1 to everyone’s surprise – has dropped, Christopher Miller and Phil Lord offered some glimpses into their work on the latest entry and teased what the sequel has to offer. The biggest question surrounds how the spider-verse element will build upon the previous film, and they confirmed that we can expect some familiar and a lot of new friends joining up Miles Morales’ adventure. The only confirmed returning characters are Hailee Steinfeld‘s Gwen Stacy and Oscar Isaac‘s Miguel O’Hara.

There have been many theories about what we might expect in the next entry of this franchise. As he’s going to explore the multiverse, it almost seems like it might be endless. We could get the return of some classic animated Spider-Men that haven’t had the chance to voice their characters in quite some time. We might meet some brand new takes on the character that only existed in comics. The potential seems limitless with this kind of concept stand we can’t wait to be part of the ride.

  • Don’t Expect Miles Morales in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Don’t Expect Miles Morales in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

We just got the trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse that teased Miles Morales continued story meeting other spider-themed heroes across the multiverse. Of course, with No Way Home also taking a similar theme it opened up the question if we might see a potential crossover especially with Morales’ existing in the MCU being teased since the release of Homecoming. Well, it looks like Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the producers of the latest animated film, have seen the threequel and can confirm Miles isn’t included but does add a curious tease of everyone being “part of the Spider-Verse.”

Of course, the question remains if they mean their take on Miles Morales or the character in general. It would be too much if they also introduce Morales in the film that is rumored to feature multiple Spider-Men from the multiverse. So, it’s best to keep him for a potential new trilogy as Parke takes on a more mentor role. He was mentored throughout this trilogy. So, it’s time for him to take on that role and open a path for a new kid to take on the mantle potentially.

  • Every Dimension To Have a Unique Art Style in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’

Every Dimension To Have a Unique Art Style in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’

After a long wait, the first trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has finally dropped. The biggest surprise was not only that the upcoming release of Across the Spider-Verse is just the first part but also our glimpse into other dimensions. As Miles Morales fights the Spider-Man from 2099, we see that the dimensions don’t follow the same art style. Spider-Gwen’s animation style was also distinct when we got a glimpse of her world and it seems they will continue that by including a new animation for each dimension as confirmed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

This is a fantastic idea, as every dimension will stick out through its unique style of animation. It makes you wonder if we might get to see some familiar ones like the original 90s series or even Spectacular Spider-Man. It could let them revisit these storylines and voice actors to bring their interpretation of Pete Parker to life one more time. Here’s hoping we get some teases in the coming months ahead of the film’s release that offer a glimpse into what parts of the multiverse we’ll see.

  • EXCLUSIVE: Brady Noon Recalls His Favorite Day Working on ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ and How COVID Impacted Production

EXCLUSIVE: Brady Noon Recalls His Favorite Day Working on ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ and How COVID Impacted Production

Diary of a Wimpy Kid was Brady Noon’s first voice acting role and he did a great job. Throughout the movie his character had to deal with all of the emotions from happy to sad to angry to embarrassed I spoke to him earlier this week and asked him what his favorite scene was to record.

Probably when we (Greg and Rowley) were walking through the woods and we have our candy and all, like the high school kids, like pulled up on us and tried to take our candy and we were just running and yelling and screaming. So pretty much, that whole day, I was just yelling the whole day-laughs-that was pretty funny. That was a funny day.

I followed up by asking him if he was able to meet any of the other voice actors, to which Noon replied:

Unfortunately not, due to COVID-19 and we did our own individual session for recording, so I haven’t spoken to anyone else but I’m super proud of everyone’s work and I’m super happy how it turned out.

Despite having to work alone, Noon said he had enjoyed the process and is looking forward to doing it again. With author Jeff Kinney hoping to adapt all of the books into Disney+ films, Noon should be able to continue filming memorable scenes for years to come.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is now streaming on Disney+!

  • Tom Holland on How ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Leads Into ‘No Way Home’

Tom Holland on How ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Leads Into ‘No Way Home’

It’s hard to believe we’re so close to finally watching Spider-Man: No Way Home. Even with all the rumors making the rounds, who knows at this point what is true and what isn’t. The trailers did tease that we can expect the storyline to pick up directly where Far From Home left us off, but it looks like we never realized just how close these two entries will be connected.

In an appearance on the Graham Norton Show, Tom Holland was promoting the upcoming film and even offered a little glimpse into how exactly the film will lead into the next. Well, it turns out that we’ll pick up directly where the previous one left us off, as Peter Parker was about to end it with a WTF.

What’s cool about this film is it picks up right after the second one finishes. So the second one finishes with a freeze-frame of Spider-Man, the third one starts with the same freeze-frame

    Tom Holland

It’s clever that they would continue exactly where that scene left us off. To many moviegoers, it probably was one of the biggest twists in the film and there’s a great concept to build upon. We’ll likely open the film with Spidey on the run alongside Zendaya until he gets captured or finds a hiding spot from the police. So, I wouldn’t expect the fanfare from Marvel Studios until that very moment.

  • First Look at Dwayne Johnson as The Foundation in ‘Fortnite’ Chapter 2’s Finale

First Look at Dwayne Johnson as The Foundation in ‘Fortnite’ Chapter 2’s Finale

There have been many theories surrounding the real identity of the character The Foundation in Fortnite. As Chapter 2 was coming to an end, there were more hints that it actually be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Most notably, he had the character’s helmet in his refrigerator as he was promoting ZOA with a weapon in the background. So, there were quite a few theories that he might very likely reveal his face in the final moments of the Chapter 2 finale. Well, it turns out the theory was correct, as we finally got our look at the Rock during the events – eyebrow raise included. @JimViscardi was kind enough to share the full reveal on Twitter:

It’s becoming quite a fun theme for Fortnite to pretty much include anything that exists in pop culture. We’ve also seen quite a few actors and celebrities become characters in the game, such as Arianna Grande and LeBron James. The latter was part of a crossover with the Space Jam: A New Legacy crossover while Grande got a full digital concert in the game. Technically, Johnson is the first in-universe character being played by an actor, as he is still called The Foundation rather than by his real name. So, we’ll see if there’s more to it.

  • EXCLUSIVE: ‘Morbius’ Filming Additional Scenes Involving Michael Keaton’s Vulture

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Morbius’ Filming Additional Scenes Involving Michael Keaton’s Vulture

Recently, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Michael Keaton told the host that he would soon be reprising the role of Adrian Toomes, a character he first played in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and then again in Sony’s Morbius, which is set to release late next month. Keaton’s nonchalant, matter of fact delivery of the news set fans abuzz as they began to speculate on what property he might be working on. Fans began to wonder if we was doing some additional photography on Morbius or if he might be joining Spider-Man: No Way Home or if he was joining some unknown, mystery project.

While I have yet to hear Keaton’s name attached to Spider-Man: No Way Home, we can exclusively reveal that his work on his role in Morbius is still ongoing with just 7 weeks until release. Though we don’t have details on whether Keaton was working on reshoots or additional photography, the work isn’t done quite yet as scenes with the character will be filmed next week.

To this point, Keaton’s appearance in the footage that’s been released for Morbius point towards the character making what amounts to an extended cameo. However, if Sony has been filming scenes with the character for the past two weeks, it would seem like an attempt to beef up the role in the upcoming film. With Venom: Let There Be Carnage opening a way for character’s from Sony’s Marvel films to crossover into the MCU and with Amy Pascal indicating that Sony and Marvel Studios are continuing their collaboration, anything is possible in terms of what to expect from Keaton’s role in the future.

  • EXCLUSIVE: ‘Wimpy Kid’ Star Brady Noon Reflects on His First Voice Acting Experience

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Wimpy Kid’ Star Brady Noon Reflects on His First Voice Acting Experience

The COVID-19 pandemic forced companies and schools to change the way their day-to-day operations worked. Hollywood was no different. After briefly pausing all productions, the film industry stayed true to the old saying, “the show must go on”, and quickly shifted gears. Part of that shift saw productions being worked on from home. For Diary of a Wimply Kid star Brady Noon, that meant work on his first voice acting role as Greg Heffley, took place from a home studio.

Arlyn Murphy interviewed the star earlier this week and the two teens talked about talked about Noon’s first voice-acting role and shared a laugh when Murphy compared Noon’s description of working from home to virtual schooling during the pandemic.

Noon: It was great! Coming from live-action into the studio was something that I’d never done before and something that I was extremely looking forward to and I liked the concept that I could wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt to work. That was a nice little change. Overall, I’m super happy with how it turned out and it’s something that I would like to continue doing in my career.

Murphy: Sounds like virtual school. That’s fun.

    Noon: Yeah! (Laughter)

The comparison to online pandemic learning is a fair one as students across the globe experienced a massive paradigm shift in education. While students were ostensibly “doing school” from the comfort and safety of their homes and were in communication with their teachers, the feedback loop that is such a big part of the educational process took a different form. Something similar is probably true about actors working on voice roles from home without a director there in person. It’s encouraging to hear that Noon enjoyed working on the film that way as it seems he’ll be a big part of the plans writer and executive producer Jeff Kinney has for further adaptations of the series.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is now streaming on Disney Plus.

  • EXCLUSIVE: Character Breakdowns for Netflix’s ‘XO Kitty’

EXCLUSIVE: Character Breakdowns for Netflix’s ‘XO Kitty’

Netflix looks to be adding to its cast for the forthcoming XO Kitty series.

A spinoff of the popular To All the Boys… films, XO Kitty focuses on the youngest Covey sister, played by Anna Cathcart. The series follows teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey who thinks she knows everything there is to know about love. When she moves halfway across the world (Korea) to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, however, she’ll soon realize that relationships are a lot more complicated when it’s your own heart on the line.

As we’ve previously revealed, XO Kitty will enter production in March 2022. While the series was previously looking to fill the role of six main characters, it looks like episode two of the show will introduce two recurring guest star roles: Madison and Florian.

Madison is described as being a 17-year-old white American female who is as American as Apple pie. Her family, naturally, made a fortune by creating apple pie in a cup and she’s spent her summers working at the family bakery in the past. However, having grown tired of cheerleading and boys with their pick-up trucks, Madison is seeking a change with Korea. Believing Korea to be a great place to expand their apple pie in a cup business, her parents agree to send her to a boarding school in Korea with the hopes of learning the culture and language. Unfortunately, though, Madison often tries way too hard to fit in at her new school and it becomes clear she’s a teen simply trying to find herself. The role is that of a recurring guest star; actors applying need to be at least 18-years-old.

Florian is a 17-year-old male who describes himself as queer; he also identifies as femme or androgynous. Florian is an art and history buff who has a knack for seeming pretentious, but truly just loves pop culture. He has a crush on a typical jock at the boarding school, and soon finds himself in a “will they or won’t they” with the athlete Q. The role is that of a recurring guest star; actors applying need to be at least 18-years-old. The hope is to also cast someone who identifies as queer.

XO Kitty is a spinoff of the popular Netflix To All the Boys… adaptations based on the books by bestselling author Jenny Han. XO Kitty appears to be an original series that came about because of the movies and their popularity. Han is the TV series creator and co-wrote the pilot script with fellow author, Siobhan Vivian. As it stands XO Kitty does not yet have a release date.
