Black Adam has been on the back burner for quite some time now. It is finally set to kick off filming next month, as the production has begun to round out its cast. The film will follow Teth-Adam, who becomes the anti-hero, Black Adam. He was born into slavery in the city of Kahndaq. He is given the powers of the wizard Shazam, through which by uttering the name he becomes imbued with the powers of the Gods. Eventually, he ends up using these abilities to do what he deems necessary to free his home and its people. The film will see Adam face off against the Justice Society of America, which is lead by Hawkman and Doctor Fate. The latter has still not been cast. At least, not until now.

It’s been confirmed that Pierce Brosnan has joined the cast and will play the role of Kent Nelson, or better known as Doctor Fate. He is the final member of the JSA to get cast and will join Aldis Hodges‘ Hawkman. The story will see them recruit new members Atom Smasher and Cyclone, played by Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindel.

Black Adam will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and was written by Adam Sztykiel. The film will see the long-awaited debut of Dwayne Johnson as the Black Adam alongside Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Noah Centineo, Quintessa Swindell, Aldis Hodge, and now James Bond himself, Pierce Brosnan.
