  • ‘LOKI’ Trailer Looks to Bring the God of Lies Before the Council of Kangs

‘LOKI’ Trailer Looks to Bring the God of Lies Before the Council of Kangs

Marvel Studios unleashed a torrent of incredible news on us today, so much so that it’s easy to overlook some of the fine details of the footage they gave us. For instance, in the first teaser for next May’s Loki, it was pretty easy to ignore the faces on the wall in what appeared to be a courtroom.

On the wall behind Gugu Mbatha-Raw‘s unknown character are a trio of faces, all of which bear the unmistakable trademark lines of Kang the Conqueror. The hardest of the hardcore know that Loki was produced by Limbo Productions I and that Kang the Conqueror is the Lord of Limbo. I have LOOOOOOOOONG expected Kang to show up in Loki (going so far as to wonder if Owen Wilson could be playing the character); when Jonathan Majors casting as Kang was revealed by the trades, I mentioned it was likely he would be showing up in something prior to Ant-Man 3. Over the past week, KC Walsh of GWW has HEAVILY teased the presence of the character. Given what we see here, it certainly looks like Loki is the place and that Gugu might somehow herself be on the council, be A Kang or related to the time-traveling despot.

Council of Kangs (Team) - Comic Vine

The multiversal Council of Kangs was first introduced in 1986’s Avengers 267 and did a lot of very counter-intuitive but self-preservatory shit. If we’re being honest, nothing about Kang, Immortus or any other of his personas make sense, so let’s not pretend to sort it out in 3-5 sentences. What does seem certain is that Loki will face off against the Master of Men before the end of Season 1!

  • ‘MS. MARVEL’ Sizzle Reel May Confirm Inhumans Rumor

‘MS. MARVEL’ Sizzle Reel May Confirm Inhumans Rumor

The Disney Investor Day presentation held absolutely nothing back! As someone who always holds his expectations low, I was blown away by the number of reveals made by The-One-Above-All. Over the last couple of hours, as I’ve reviewed the footage, I think it’s possible Marvel Studios may have revealed a bit more than we all saw on our first look, including something hidden in the Ms. Marvel sizzle reel.

At the 1:07 mark of the reel, Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan walks away from a chalkboard that seems to illustrate her transformation from normal teenager to someone with some pretty cool embiggening powers. At the bottom left of the chalkboard, there is an illustration of a figure who looks a whole hell of a lot like none other than Maxiums the Mad of the Inhuman Royal Family.

The Inhumans played an integral role in Kamala’s transformation into a hero in the comics and late last year, GWW reported that they heard the Inhuman Royal family may make an appearance in the series and mentioned Maximus specifically. Since that original report, nothing has been heard on the matter but the chalk drawing certainly does resemble an amalgamation of the character from past to present.

The character in the chalk is wearing on overcoat similar to the one the more modern representations of Maximus has worn and bears a symbol on his chest like that worn by the earlier representations of the brother of Black Bolt, King of the Inhumans. Could this chalk drawing be an indication that we will see the Inhumans properly introduced into the MCU via Ms. Marvel? As a huge fan of the characters, I certainly hope so and hope that Feige is willing to give them the treatment they deserve. What do you think?

  • Chadwick Boseman Will Not be Recast in ‘Black Panther 2’

Chadwick Boseman Will Not be Recast in ‘Black Panther 2’

We finally got an official word on what we can expect from Black Panther 2. Kevin Feige honored the late Chadwick Boseman by confirming that he will not be recast in the upcoming film. So, it looks like Shuri (Letitia Wright) might be taking over the role and continue the legacy of the Bast. Feige only confirmed that they want to continue the story of Wakanda, so anything is possible in whatever direction they go. It is likely that the film has been pushed back into their release pipeline, as they will be rewriting the script. Black Panther might’ve had a massive role moving forward in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so this is a great gesture by the company to honor his death and not just recast the character he certainly made his own. We will see what the future holds for Black Panther.

  • ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Disney+ Spin-Offs Revealed

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Disney+ Spin-Offs Revealed

It looks like Guardians of the Galaxy will be expanding with two brand new Disney+ entries. First, Kevin Feige announced that our favorite space cops are getting their own holiday special. Yes, you read that right, it is Marvel Studios’ first version of a festive-themed story. James Gunn is set to return and will direct it while working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It is set to release next year during the holiday season.

That is not all, as Groot is also getting his very own series. Baby Groot is getting his own set of short stories that will introduce us to the wacky creations of the Marvel Universe. It is uncertain if this will be an animated or live-action series, but is planned to air on Disney+ at some point in the future.

  • First Look at ‘Ms. Marvel’ Disney+ Show Released

First Look at ‘Ms. Marvel’ Disney+ Show Released

Just a few weeks ago, we were covering some BTS photos from the set of Ms. Marvel. Well, Marvel Studios wasn’t going to hide it too long from us, as they released a short sizzle reel that gives us a little insight into the story of Kamala Khan. It isn’t just interviews with the team behind the project but they also inserted some footage that teased the Muslim superheroes’ daily life. Sadly, we didn’t get a look at her abilities but they did confirm it will release in 2021.

It doesn’t end there, as they also revealed a brand new logo and that she will definitely appear in Captain Marvel 2. She will also star alongside the returning Monica Rambeau, who will once again be played by Teyonah Parris.

  • ‘Ant-Man & The Wasp’ Sequel Subtitle Revealed as ‘Quantumania’

‘Ant-Man & The Wasp’ Sequel Subtitle Revealed as ‘Quantumania’

We’ve been waiting on any information regarding the sequel to Ant-Man & the Wasp. There was a huge surprise when it was announced that Jonathan Majors is playing Kang the Conqueror in the upcoming threequel. Well, we might finally know why as it was announced that the film will be subtitled Quantumania. It looks like their journey into the Quantum Realm is far from over, as it was also revealed that Kathryn Newton is taking over the role of Cassie Lang. This is a huge surprise as Emma Fuhrmann played her in Avengers: Endgame. Perhaps there is some multiversal chaos influencing this storyline.

  • Nick Fury Disney+ Show Revealed as ‘Secret Invasion’

Nick Fury Disney+ Show Revealed as ‘Secret Invasion’

There was the reveal a while back that Nick Fury would be getting his own Disney+ show. Well, it looks like that show turned out to be the other rumored show focused on the iconic Secret Invasion storyline. Well, it turns out that both shows were actually one, as it has been revealed that Samual L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn are returning in their iconic roles for the show Secret Invasion. No details are given about the series but it looks like they might be taking a unique route with this story.

  • War Machine Taking Center Stage in ‘Armor Wars’ Disney+ Series

War Machine Taking Center Stage in ‘Armor Wars’ Disney+ Series

Looks like War Machine will finally get his own series, as Marvel Studios announced Armor Wars. It will focus on the iconic series of Tony’s biggest fear. It is an interesting story to tackle that will most likely tie-in with the Ironheart series that was announced right before. This could also mean that the amours destroyed in Iron Man 3 may have found a new owner who took his time putting them back together. My money would also be on the return of Ultron, who may take control of them but it is only speculation as of now.

  • Iron Man’s Legacy Lives on in Disney+’s ‘Ironheart’

Iron Man’s Legacy Lives on in Disney+’s ‘Ironheart’

Well, it looks like the rumors were true. as a new Ironheart Disney+ series was announced by Kevin Feige. Not just that but Dominique Thorne has been cast as Riri Williams. Not much is known about the show’s direction but it seems like they’ll stick close to the comics. A while back I had the theory she might replace Iron Lad, as the character to have a connection with Kang. The fact she is getting a series of her own might add more relevance to that theory, so it will be interesting to see how things develop.

  • First Look at ‘Loki’ Disney+ Series

First Look at ‘Loki’ Disney+ Series

We didn’t just get a trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier but also for the third Disney+ series Loki. Kevin Feige described it as a mystery thriller, which is quite an interesting approach to this iconic character. The trailer was amazing, as it unveiled some movie-level effects and set pieces. It looks like whatever Loki will be up to might destroy the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It might be interesting to see how it all ties together, especially as the ending has unveiled he will once again meet Thor and Heimdall. After Heimdall’s death at the hands of Thanos, it opens up a lot of questions if he remains in a separate universe. The series will premier in Mai, which seems to hint at a two-month release window for each show.
