  • Amy Pascal Confirms ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ Sequel is in Early Development

Amy Pascal Confirms ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ Sequel is in Early Development

Venom: Let There Be Carnage ended on quite an interesting cliffhanger. Our favorite unlikely duo finds themselves in a seemingly new world and we get the first hint at a confrontation with Peter Parker. Venom even seems to recognize him even though they’ve never encountered each other in the series.

So, it had everyone’s eyebrows raised what it might mean for a third installment. We didn’t even know if a third one was in some kind of form of development. Luckily, in an interview with Collider, Spider-Man: No Way Home producer Amy Pascal confirmed that it’s already in early development.

We are in the planning stages right now but what we are focused on is getting everybody to come and see No Way Home.

    Amy Pascal

It was only a question of time before we get an official confirmation if you consider that it had one of the strongest openings of the year. It’ll be interesting to see how they tackle this project and what it might mean for the franchise’s future once they start interconnecting their various Marvel projects more moving forward.

  • Luminosity Adapting J.V. Kade’s ‘Bot Wars’

Luminosity Adapting J.V. Kade’s ‘Bot Wars’

The great wave of adaptations continues, as it seems Luminosity Entertainment is working with Altit Media Group to adapt the book by J.V. Kade, Bot Wars. Alexander Kiesl and Steffen Hacker have been attached to direct the sci-fi film, which currently doesn’t have any writers attached. The story tells the age-old history of humanity vs. artificial intelligence but does explore how human ingenuity manages to give them the upper hand. Luminosity’s Daniel Diamond had the following to say on the project:

The world and characters brought to life in J.V. Kade’s novels are tremendously original, thrilling and thought provoking. We are very excited to be working with Dean and Kia in bringing Alexander and Steffen’s vision of this incredible story to the big screen

    Daniel Diamond

Luminosity was just founded earlier this year by Elie Samaha, Geno Taylor, and Diamond. It’s quite the undertaking as their first film won’t release until next year, which is Back on the Strip featuring Wesley Snipes and Tiffany Haddish. As no writer is currently attached, might still be some time until it sees the light of day but the sci-fi franchise pulls in a very classic

This is the first of what will surely be many figures within the line, and with completed products like this Batmobile figure already making their way out in countries like France they surely are not far from being officially revealed by the company. As of now, there is currently not a set release date and its unknown if this specific figure will be a retail exclusive.

  • Kevin Feige On Venom’s Arrival into The MCU

Kevin Feige On Venom’s Arrival into The MCU

Since the very first Venom film, fans have wondered just when the character would be making his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and would face off against Spider-Man. We know he is part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, but not quite how that interconnects with the MCU. Yet, the post-credit scene for Venom: Let There Be Carnage changed everything.

At the tail end of the film, Eddie and Venom are relaxing and blowing off some steam. Suddenly, something begins to happen around them and before they know it the room their in isn’t the same. The TV pops on and fans were shown the one thing they’ve been dying to see, Venom’s arrival into the MCU. Collider recently spoke with Kevin Feige in which he talked about just how they handled it

You look at the obvious comic connotations between Venom and Spider-Man and it is inherent. So the minute Sony made their Venom movie and it worked as well as it did, and Tom Hardy became as iconic as he has become as Venom, then the obvious question is then, ‘How do we start to merge them?’

    Kevin Feige

Venom’s big arrival into the MCU is quite exciting for fans and theres a lot of potential down the line for whats to come. Feige recently spoke with THR about how how they worked with the team on Venom: Let There Be Carnage to put together that little end credit stinger. Its unknown if Venom’s arrival will play any sort of role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but the wait for that answer won’t be a long one.

  • ‘Shang-Chi’ Director Is Developing A New MCU Disney+ Series

‘Shang-Chi’ Director Is Developing A New MCU Disney+ Series

The future of Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is brighter than ever as the film towers over the pandemic box office with a whopping $400M worldwide. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that Marvel Studios is giving him the keys to a potentially new kingdom as Deadline is reporting that Cretton is developing a new MCU Disney+ show.

There have been rumors lately about a Ten Rings spin-off happening, which is only supported by the film’s post-credits scene with Xialing. Cretton has long expressed his love for the characters they created for the film so it’s very safe to assume that this could be his new D+ show. However, there is also a team called the Agents of Atlas that Shang-Chi is a part of in the comics. The team boasts an exciting roster of diverse Asian characters, something that clearly interests Cretton as a creator. It would be really cool if they reveal that to be the show.

  • BREAKING: Destin Daniel Cretton Returning to Write and Direct ‘Shang-Chi’ Sequel

BREAKING: Destin Daniel Cretton Returning to Write and Direct ‘Shang-Chi’ Sequel

It was only a matter of time, but the news has finally dropped that Destin Daniel Cretton, fresh off of his success with Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings, will return to write and direct its sequel. Kevin Feige had the following to say as the director has now inked a deal with the studio alongside Hulu’s Onyx Collection.

Destin is an amazing collaborator who brought a unique perspective and skill to Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. We had a fantastic time working together on the film and he has so many intriguing ideas for stories to bring to life on Disney+, so we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with him and can’t wait to get started.

    Kevin Feige

Marvel Studios has proven its reliability in picking talent and with the deal inked, it means that many other projects might be in the characters’ future. Of course, there are no details given on what the sequel might include, but there’s a lot of potential in exploring the setup we got in Ta Lo. Some time ago, we had our own theory that we might potentially explore an Iron Fist connection in the sequel, which could also build upon the legacy we’re teased off. Of course, they might take a unique direction to build upon the Ten Rings that are still active in one of the post-credit sequences. We’ll see what the future has in store for the titular hero.

  • ‘Wonder Woman 3’ Eyeing 2023 Production Start

‘Wonder Woman 3’ Eyeing 2023 Production Start

Wonder Woman has become a staple in the DCEU, and possibly its most popular character alongside Harley Quinn. The character will be the first to finish out a trilogy of films within the cinematic universe as the announcement of a third entry came right after Wonder Woman 1984‘s release. Not much is known about the third film, aside from the fact that Patty Jenkins will return to write and direct the film. Gal Gadot once again will reprise her role of Diana Prince, of course. With both having such packed schedules, it looks like it’s gonna be a second before cameras are rolling on the threequel.

News broke today via Deadline that Patty Jenkins would be shifting from director to producer on Gadot‘s upcoming film Cleopatra, with Kari Skogland set to pick up the reigns on the project. Sources close to Deadline said this move was made with the intention for Jenkins to continue developing the next installment in the Wonder Woman franchise as it had been fast-tracked by Warner Brothers. Deadline also has revealed that the third Wonder Woman film is currently set to begin production sometime in 2023, with no concrete date set just yet.

Gadot‘s backed-up schedule includes not only Cleopatra but also the upcoming live-action adaption of Snow White at Disney. Plot details for Wonder Woman 3 are still under wraps as Jenkins finishes off the script for the film, but we hope to hear more in the near future and hopefully see the film embrace the character’s roots in mythology that’s been a bit absent since her debut.

  • ‘Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s Kari Skogland to Direct Patty Jenkins’ ‘Cleopatra’

‘Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s Kari Skogland to Direct Patty Jenkins’ ‘Cleopatra’

Here’s an interesting surprise, it looks like Kari Skogland, who recently worked on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is taking over directing duties from Patty Jenkins. She originally was going to helm the project, which will star Wonder Woman‘s Gal Gadot in the titular role. She is handing over directing duties to focus on her other two projects Wonder Woman 3 and Rogue Squadron, which recently got delayed indefinitely. Skogland has been eyeing quite a few projects since her work on the Marvel Studios project and also comes after her breakout on The Handmaids Tale.

It’s great to see another Marvel director kickstart their career towards bigger scope projects, which is highlighted in Deadline’s article. The execs behind the Cleopatra project were looking for someone who can handle a project that reflects that scope, as they retell the story of the daughter of Ptolemy and how she grew to power in ancient Egypt. Her relationship with Caeser and Marc Anthony would become cornerstones of how she grew to power, but would eventually become their undoing. Charles Roven, Jenkins, Gadot, and Jaron Varsano will produce the film alongside executive producer Laeta Kalogridis.

  • Chris Hemsworth Expresses Diminishing Interest in Continuing as Thor

Chris Hemsworth Expresses Diminishing Interest in Continuing as Thor

As much as we love the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is always going to be a point where the actors aren’t interested in playing these characters actively anymore. Robert Downey Jr. exited the franchise with Avengers: Endgame when he gave Iron Man his last big stand in the franchise. Some actors that have been with the franchise since its early days still remain, such as Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Yet, it seems that his interest might be reaching a boiling point as revealed in an interview with The Today Show.

I’ve done six or seven Thors, so maybe. As long as they’ll have me, I’ll turn up, but I feel like that enthusiasm [for me] might be waning.”

    Chris Hemsworth

It’s understandable that he’ll reach a limit at some point, as he’s already appeared in quite a few films, as he points out. Of cousre, we don’t know what the plans are for the actor after Thor: Love and Thunder releases next year. His character might have a final hurrah before Natalie Portman‘s Jane Foster carries on the mantle. Of course, a personal preference would be to end his run inspired by the actual Norse mythology and inspired by the Fear Itself storyline. Here’s hoping we find out once the film releases and gives us a closer look into the future of his character.

  • Rumor: ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’ to Feature M.O.D.O.K.

Rumor: ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’ to Feature M.O.D.O.K.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania recently wrapped production and did so without much about the plot of the film being leaked. We do know that the film, which was recently bumped from a February to a July 2023 release, will see Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, Kathryn Newton as a recast Cassie Lang and Bill Murray join the returning cast of Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas. Now, a new rumor from The Direct, a character long rumored to be a part of the film will indeed make an appearance.

Earlier this year, it was reported by GWW that M.O.D.O.K. was featured in an early draft of the script for the third Ant-Man movie written by Rudd. However, with new writer Jeff Loveness on board, it was unclear if M.O.D.O.K. made the cut. Another recent rumor pointed to M.O.D.O.K. having a role in the film and being voiced by Jim Carrey. According to the rumor from The Direct, M.O.D.O.K. did in fact make the jump from Rudd’s draft to Loveness’, but will not be voiced by Carrey and will have a major role in the film, though they were only able to speculate about what it might be.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is currently scheduled to debut in theaters on July 28, 2023.
