  • ‘The Boys’ Season 3 Brazilian Teaser Reveals a June Release Date

‘The Boys’ Season 3 Brazilian Teaser Reveals a June Release Date

We’ve been anxiously awaiting when the next season of The Boys would finally release. It’s been a long wait, but the next season will build upon where the last one left us off with, as Homelander is forced to work alongside people he hates. His anger is slowly boiling over and promises an explosive next season.

We got a few teases with the arrival of Soldier Boy as a new threat for our ragtag team to face and it seems the wait isn’t that much longer. A teaser may have leaked early, as it was shared by @Voughthq that ends on the note that the series will release on June 3rd, 2022.

It’ll be interesting to see if the official release on other media platforms will follow, as the official account doesn’t include it just yet. Still, a June release date seems quite realistic and with the simplicity of this teaser, they might still be working on some of the effects for the next season. As such, we might not get a full trailer until around March as they build up to the release, but we’ll have to wait to see if this release date was meant to release.

‘The Boys’ Animated Anthology Series, ‘Diabolical’, Coming in 2022

The Boys was an absolute mega-hit for Amazon Prime, adapting and reimagining Garth Ennis’s popular comics. The series now has two seasons on Prime with a third one on the way, alongside a spinoff in development that focuses on the next generation of supes However, it seems that this isn’t the only other project in the works in the wonderfully vulgar and gory world of The Boys.

Amazon Prime and Karl Urban have announced that an eight-episode animated anthology series, Diabolical, set within the world of The Boys is coming in 2022. • First Look at Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess in ‘The Boys’ Season 3

First Look at Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess in ‘The Boys’ Season 3

Amazon struck gold with its adaption of Garth Ennis’ The Boys, a world where the superheroes aren’t kept in check and act as they please. The series has already scored a spinoff with its rising popularity as the third season approaches, with filming having wrapped on the season awhile back. Things are set to get even crazier than before with the arrival of Jensen Ackle’s Soldier Boy, and superhero team Payback.

Payback is a spoof on the Marvel Comics team, the Avengers, with Solider Boy acting as their Captain America. But he won’t be the only member of the team making their way to Vought this season, as Laurie Holden is already set to debut as Crimson Countess, their play on Scarlet Witch. We got our very first look at Holden as the supe today.

Like quite a few characters used on the series, the character of Crimson Countess didn’t play a huge role in the comics and is only a minor antagonist. The character possesses flight and heat generation abilities that allows her to shoot fireballs. The title of Crimson Countess originally belonged to another World War 2 veteran supe who fought against the Nazis with a group known as the Avenging Squad, all of whom quickly died.

Season 3 of The Boys currently has no set release date but with release exclusively on Amazon Prime. The season with see the return of the main cast alongside newcomers like Katia Winter, Sean Patrick Flanery, Nick Wechsler, and Frances Turner.

  • ‘The Boys’ Season 3 Adds Frances Turner, Kristin Booth, and Jack Doolan in Recurring Roles

‘The Boys’ Season 3 Adds Frances Turner, Kristin Booth, and Jack Doolan in Recurring Roles

Just recently, The Boys first spin-off finally got a go from Amazon Studios. It faced some delays due to creative differences, but we still have the third season of the main series heading our way in the near future. Throughout the year, we got casting after casting but the show was extremely focused on highlighting Jensen Ackles addition as Soldier Boy. We even got an official first look at his new costume back in June. It looks like there are some new additions to the cast, as Deadline reveals another trio will have a recurring role moving forward.

The Boys‘ third season has added The Man In The High Castle‘s Frances Turner, Kristin Booth from The Hot Zone: Anthrax, and Marcella‘s Jack Doolan. Turner plays Monique, the wife of Laz Alonso‘s Mother’s Milk. Booth and Doolan will play the super siblings known as TNT Twins. There are no details what roles exactly they’ll have in the story but that name does not bode well. We’ve faced some tragedies in the past, but this might be a whole new level.

  • ‘The Boys’ Spinoff Moving Forward With New Showrunners

‘The Boys’ Spinoff Moving Forward With New Showrunners

About a year ago, around the time the second season of The Boys premiered, it was announced that a spinoff series was in development. The series would follow America’s only university exclusively for supes, run by Vought International, everyone’s favorite superhero conglomerate. Developments on the series have been silent since the project began adding names to its cast, but that was pretty much it.

The series, which has yet to be given a proper title, has received a full series order at Amazon with some new talent jumping aboard. The series has replaced its previous showrunner, Craig Rosenberg, who left the project due to creative differences with Sony and Amazon. Taking over will be the writing duo of Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas. They are best known for their work on the ABC Marvel series, Agent Carter.

The series will follow a contemptuous group of students at the university who are full of raging hormones and constantly at each other’s throats as they compete to be the best. Their end goal is to get the prime contract deal with Vought. Current cast members include Jaz Sinclair, Aimee Carrero, Reina Hardesty, Shane Paul McGhie, Maddie Phillips, and Lizzie Broadway. The series has yet to round out its cast as more news will follow at a later date. Serving alongside Butters and Fazekas as executive producers will be Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Garth Ennis. As the series now is moving forward, we might hopefully get an official title in the near future.

  • New ‘THE BOYS’ Set Photo Reveals a Big Season 3 Spoiler

New ‘THE BOYS’ Set Photo Reveals a Big Season 3 Spoiler

Ryan Butcher, the son of Homelander and Becca Butcher, is the first naturally born “Supe” in the world of Amazon’s The Boys. And while fans were rightfully worried that he’d turn out to be a sadistic lunatic like his father, his love for his mother seemed to keep him on the up and up…until it didn’t. The Season 2 finale saw Ryan accidentally kill his Mom while trying to save her from Stormfront. Following the accident, Billy Butcher scooped up Ryan and took him away leaving us to wonder how the young man will be impacted by the incident and what’s next for him. If this set photo from Season 3 is any indication, we can guess that Ryan isn’t going to be in hiding from dear old Dad for too long.

As you can see, Ryan’s abilities are on full display in public near a sign of Homelander. It’s unclear what triggered Ryan’s decision to levitate, but it’ll be sure to capture the attention of Homelander, who was last seen pleasuring himself on the rooftop while overlooking the city. Season 2 went poorly for Homelander and cranking one out while saying “I can do whatever I want” doesn’t seem to indicate he’s in a good place mentally. His fantasies began to merge with reality as the season went on and it won’t be long before he’s totally unhinged. Could Butcher be training Ryan to take on his Dad? Is Ryan the only one who could truly stop Homelander? We can’t wait for Season 3 to get some answers.

  • Laurie Holden Joins ‘THE BOYS’ Season 3 as the Crimson Countess

Laurie Holden Joins ‘THE BOYS’ Season 3 as the Crimson Countess

Only a handful of days after announcing a new trio of supes, The Boys has revealed it’s adding a classic femme fatale from the comics. Laurie Holden has officially joined the cast of the hit Amazon series as Crimson Countess, a long-time associate of Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy. The character is capable of flight and heat generation and acts as a member of Soldier Boys’ super-team Payback. Designed as a play on Marvel’s Scarlet Witch, the Countess will no doubt play a role in Soldier Boy’s storyline. More than likely, she will be part of a group with the recently announced Ground Hawk and Supersonic. In the lore of the franchise, Crimson Countess is a moniker that dates back to Vought’s WWII days. The hero even received a bit of a tease during the show’s second season.

Holden is best known for her role as Andrea on AMC’s smash-hit The Walking Dead, which she played for the show’s first handful of seasons. She also had a recurring role in the cult favorite series The X-Files. More recently, she was seen on The Americans and Proven Innocent. She has also worked on a variety of films, as the actress appeared in Frank Darabont’s The Mist, an adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel. She even had a small role in 2005’s original Fantastic Four film, as Ben Grimm’s fiancé Debbie. The Boys will be Holden’s first high-profile role since being killed off on The Walking Dead, and her resumé indicates she’ll do wonders in the spotlight once again.

  • ‘THE BOYS’ Adds a Trio of New Superheroes

‘THE BOYS’ Adds a Trio of New Superheroes

A trio of new superheroes has been added to The Boys‘ already-sprawling cast! The hit Amazon series has cast Sean Patrick FlanneryMiles Gaston Villanueva, and Nick Wechsler as a group of supposedly original creations. Flannery, best known for starring opposite Norman Reedus in The Boondock Saints, will portray a “hero” named Gunpowder. The moniker was used by a minor character in the comics, who specialized in weapons-based combat, but we have no official word on whether this is the same person in the live-action series.

Villaneuva, who previously starred in Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders, will play a character called Supersonic. Some rumors suggest the character, who could be another speedster or possess some sort of Black Canary-style sonic screaming, is the ex-boyfriend of Erin Moriarty‘s Starlight. If true, this would mean Supersonic is the show’s replacement for comic character Drummer Boy. Last but not least, Wechsler, known for his role on Revenge, will bring a character called Blue Hawk to life. This character may be a variation of the comics’ Ground Hawk. He was a feral supe with skilled use of hammers.

The new cast members join the previously announced Jensen Ackles as new additions to the show. He is set to portray Soldier Boy in the show’s third season, one of the world’s first superheroes. We recently got our first look at his costume. While the latest casting news adds nothing to our knowledge of the third season’s plot, these new characters will play a role in Soldier Boy’s origin. In the comics, he leads a super-team called “Payback,” and these three powered individuals could be members of the show’s live-action take.

  • New ‘The Boys’ Concept Art Offers Closer Look at Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy

New ‘The Boys’ Concept Art Offers Closer Look at Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy

It looks like The Boys team wanted to showcase Jensen Ackles‘ new character, Soldier Boy, in style. The Wrap released an even better look at his design that was revealed a week ago in the form of concept art. It seems nothing was lost in translation into live-action, as his live-action design seems very close to the original. The only real difference one might notice is that the knife’s placement on his hip is a bit different. We still don’t know quite what role he’ll have in the new season, as our group of misfits continues their fight against Vought Enterprises and their army of superheroes.

Hopefully, we’ll get an update on the next season in the near future. They’ve been keeping the plot tightly under wraps with only small glimpses making their way online. Eric Kripke, the creator behind CW’s Supernatural, brought Ackles on board. The suit was designed by Laura Jean Shannon and showcases some strong Captain America inspirations, as she also shared her enthusiasm over the design:

Soldier Boy is the original badass. Our goal was to highlight a bygone era of overt masculinity and grit. With that pedigree we dove headfirst into baking in an all-American quality grounded in a military soldier’s practicality with a heavy dose of old school cowboy swagger. We knew that the actor had to have Steve McQueen looks and chops with a John Wayne attitude. Luckily Jensen Ackles embodies all of that.

At first glance, it also seems they are going for a very distinct version of the character and embracing the original version rather than the legacy characters. There is still a chance he has some knock-off versions imitating his brand, but he is considered Vought’s first superhero in The Boys universe. Here’s hoping we find out more soon.

  • ‘The Boys’: First Look at Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy Revealed

‘The Boys’: First Look at Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy Revealed

After months of building up excitement with fans, Jensen Ackles has finally unveiled his latest “superhero” look to fans. The first look comes after Ackles and an official Vought International Twitter account teased the reveal of a comic-inspired suit on social media. The actor, best known for his leading role on the cult phenomenon Supernatural, is set to play Soldier Boy in the next season of Amazon’s The Boys. The character is a riff on Marvel’s Captain America, portrayed as a supposed WWII veteran and the United States’ very first superhero. However, fans of the series should be smart enough to know Ackles’ newest character isn’t as heroic as his corporate sponsors want the people to think. After a long wait, our official first look is finally here:

The Boys costume designer Laura Jean Shannon shared the inspiration for his new look with Entertainment Weekly:

Our goal was to highlight a bygone era of overt masculinity and grit. With that pedigree we dove headfirst into baking in an all-American quality grounded in a military soldier’s practicality with a heavy dose of old school cowboy swagger. We knew that the actor had to have Steve McQueen looks and chops with a John Wayne attitude, luckily Jensen Ackles embodies all of that.

Ackles was cast as Soldier Boy in mid-2020, reuniting with his former Supernatural showrunner for The Boys’ third season. Since then, the fan-favorite actor has been toying with followers by sharing images of himself performing superhero workouts at the gym and recently surprised everyone with the debut of a shaggy new beard. While the facial hair is a fun new addition to the character, the design of his trusty shield and the overall look is fairly faithful to the source material. A WWII-era design for Soldier Boy was also shown via a statue in the series’ second season. However, much like his Marvelous inspiration, it seems the character has received a modern makeover with a more advanced suit. Perfect for wreaking havoc alongside Homelander in the modern world.
