  • ‘Cowboy Bebop’s Daniella Pineda Joins ‘Tales of the Walking Dead’

‘Cowboy Bebop’s Daniella Pineda Joins ‘Tales of the Walking Dead’

I am still recovering from Cowboy Bebop‘s cancellation, but it looks like the stars of that series have some new projects on the horizon. Variety has just revealed that former Faye Valentine, Daniella Pineda, has joined the upcoming spinoff series Tales of the Walking Dead. She joins an all-star cast consisting of Poppy Liu, Terry Crews, Anthony Edwards, Jillian Bell, and Parker Posey. Each episode will explore a different corner of The Walking Dead universe and it was also announced that former characters would also potentially make an appearance at some point.

There’s no word on what role she’ll exactly tackle, especially as an anthology series tends to include multiple different storylines. Pineda made a name for herself in TV shows like The Originals, What/If, and The Detour, but also appeared in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and is set to appear in the upcoming Dominion sequel. Her most recent appearance was on the previously mentioned live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop, which was canceled after one season.

‘Tales From The Walking Dead’ Anthology Adds Terry Crews, Jillian Bell, and More

Nothing truly ends. The Walking Dead franchise proved that fact with its eleven-season run. In addition, the flagship series spawns two spin-off series. Announced a while back, Tales From The Walking Dead will join Fear The Walking Dead and Walking Dead: World Beyond as the third spin-off series to spawn from the main series. Set to premiere sometime this summer on AMC, and we finally got a cast announcement for the anthology series.

Deadline has reported that Terry Crews, Anthony Edwards, Poppy Liu, Parker Posey, and Jillian Bell have all joined the upcoming series. This casting is said to be only the first wave of talent set to expand the world of the Walking Dead. Writer Scott M. Gimple shared his excitement about the new cast.

Anthony, Jillian, Terry, Parker, and Poppy are the first wave of singular talents who will further expand the Walking Dead Universe into harrowing, hilarious, heartfelt, and horrifying new realms and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them to the family, along with these terrific directors. More announcements, more wonderful folks to come

The initial announcement of the series said that the series would feature new and established characters from within this universe. Currently, no actors previously seen on any of the three other shows have been announced for the anthology series. This would open up the possibility of many long-dead characters from the series returning for stories set before their debut in any of the other shows.

Familiar Faces Returning for ‘The Walking Dead’ Anthology Spinoff

It looks like we finally got the announcement for The Walking Dead‘s next spinoff. Insider has shared that the series will get an anthology series that’ll premiere on AMC and AMC+. The franchise is no stranger to spinoffs that take place in the same world, as it’ll join Fear of the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Channing Powell will serve as showrunner, as it explores stories from new and old characters within this zombie-filled world. The new executive producer shares his excitement for tackling the show.

I started as a fan of ‘The Walking Dead’ and have ended up as a showrunner of what will hopefully be one of its most unique spin-offs. That’s nuts and I’m so grateful to AMC and Scott for supporting me and my writers while we pushed, pulled and poked at the boundaries of this universe to bring you something new and unexpected, while hopefully still tending to what core audiences loved so much about the flagship show.

Tales of the Walking Dead is set to premiere next summer and they’re still being vague on who might make their return in the series. The tease of familiar faces opens up a lot of opportunities for fan-favorites to finally return after they exited the series a long time ago. It looks like

Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride ‘The Walking Dead’ Spin-Off Greenlight by AMC

Crazy to think that The Walking Dead will end in 2022. As AMC’s most popular show, it seemed like nothing could take it down. It had built up quite the cast over the years featuring Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Michael Rooker, Josh McDermitt, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and many more. It was so popular, it already has two spin-offs. Fear the Walking Dead is about to enter its sixth season with The Walking Dead: World Beyond will premiere after the tenth season finale. Well, it’s getting one more show that will continue beyond the events of the finale. The original show’s showrunner Angela Kang is set to expand the universe, which will focus on Melissa McBride‘s Carol Peletier and Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon. AMC Chief Operating Officer Ed Carroll shared the enthusiasm for this project.

We can’t wait to bring viewers this expanded final season of ‘The Walking Dead’ over the next two years, and launch the fourth series in the history of the franchise, focused on the beloved Daryl and Carol characters, with the incredibly talented Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Angela Kang and Scott M. Gimple. There really is so much ‘walking’ ahead, in a number of very exciting directions, for this extraordinary creative universe we call ‘The Walking Dead.’

That is not all, as they are currently also working on a project titled Tales of the Walking Dead that would work as an episodic anthology. Each episode or arc will focus on new, or even existing characters. This way they can explore the lives of past survivors, and still continue expanding upon this franchise. Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple is developing this project and teased that they are also working on a variety of projects that are set in this universe. So, even as the main series ends, we haven’t seen the last of The Walking Dead any time soon.
