- Athletes investing in teams is not a new concept. Russell Wilson is a minority owner in the Seattle Sounders soccer team and Derrick Henry also has a minority stake in a soccer team, the Nashville SC. But what about Magic Johnson? News broke today that Johnson is part of a bid to buy the Denver Broncos, led by 76ers co-owner Josh Harris. The Broncos would be the 5th major sports franchise Magic has ties to.
- Looking ahead to the 2023 NFL Draft continued Thursday as NFL Media Draft Analyst, Lance Zierlein, broke down the forecast of teams that are projected to receive multiple compensatory picks. Some teams, like the 49ers and the reigning SB champion Rams, could bank as many as as four picks which could impact free agency proceedings next year.
- Finally, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was involved in a car crash Wednesday night. Details of the crash, at this time, remain unclear. However, according to VP Stephen Jones, Jerry is now “home and fine” after being transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital.
