Murphy's Multiverse -

What to Expect from the Future of The MCU and When to Expect It

TBD 2020: WANDAVISION

MARVEL - WANDAVISION

A show born from the mind of Kevin Feige, WandaVision promises to be unlike any MCU project we’ll have seen before. Part homage to great sitcoms of the past (including having scenes shot with a live-studio audience) and part Marvel Studios spectacle, WandaVision is said to set the stage for Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness in some very unexpected ways and rumored to introduce Speed and Wiccan, the twin sons of Wanda and Vision. Just how it connects to the Doctor Strange sequel is one of Marvel Studios most closely guarded secrets, making the winter of 2020-21 a long one.

Teyonah Parris will portray an adult Monica Rambeau, Agent of S.W.O.R.D. and Randall Park will return as FBI agent Jimmy Woo, two additions to the cast that further confuse fans as to what to expect from the show. Finally, Evan Peters, who portrayed Wanda’s brother, Pietro, in the Fox X-Men universe, joined the cast in a key role.

Matt Shakman (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Game of Thrones) is helming the event series while show runner Jac Schaeffer heads up the writing room. The series, originally intended to release in the Spring of 2021, was bumped up to the Fall of 2020 at the beginning of the year.

A good portion of WandaVision was filmed on set and on location in and around Atlanta. In March, production wrapped in Atlanta and moved to Los Angeles before production paused due to the coronavirus.

Official Synopsis:

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is head writer. Debuts on Disney+ this year.
