    ‘WANDAVISION’: Meet the Hearts

When the WandaVision trailer dropped last Sunday, some of the biggest teases came from the black & white portion of the show.

As I stated in another theory post, by the time we hit the 1950s portion of the show, we know Wanda and Vision just got married and have moved to the town of WestView. They want to fit in with the rest and they’re living their perfect suburban lives. At some point during the show, they will invite Mr. & Mrs. Heart over for Dinner. Played by Fred Melamed and Debra Jo Rupp, the Hearts will ask them all sorts of questions like; “When did they get married? Where did they move from? Why don’t they have children yet?”. Wanda stuttered when asked these questions and she wasn’t able to answer them because she didn’t know how to answer them. None of it was real. Vision tried to answer as well, but he didn’t know either. And that’s when all of their reality started to slowly fall apart as the aspect ratio started to expand. Now, something that really puts us at unease is when Mr. Heart slams the table and says “Dammit. Why?”, with Mrs. Heart telling him playfully to “Stop it.”, all while Wanda and Vision give each other looks of concern. Such weird things to say.

Now, when I asked you guys about how you thought Mr. & Mrs. Heart could be, many of you have stated that they’re actually demons sent by either Mephisto or Nightmare or people manipulated by the nosy neighbor Agnes aka Agatha Harkness:

    https://twitter.com/GodEmperorBoss/status/1308603394840498184?s=20

Now, these are all completely valid theories, considering how much Mephisto influences Wanda’s story and the birth of her children as a whole. Not only that, but we’ve also heard rumors regarding Nightmare possibly joining the MCU in this show and potentially manipulating Wanda to alter reality. But I propose another theory, and ONE of you actually got really close to what I was thinking:

    https://twitter.com/adambarnhardt/status/1308523318388166657

And in that tweet was a reply from fellow Murphy’s Multiverse Contributor: Lizzie Hill, which pretty much consolidates exactly what I’m proposing today.

    https://twitter.com/MsLizzieHill/status/1308548233661214725

And because Lizzie and I had a bit of back-and-forth regarding our theories, we managed to consolidate both our theories into this one theory.

THEORY: MR. & MRS. HEART ARE THE MANIFESTATIONS OF WANDA’S SUBCONSCIOUS

Something we need to understand is that during this show, a lot of the things we see in these homages to the sitcoms are actually the manifestations made by Wanda as part of her alternate reality. Meaning, the whole world around her is made up by her (except for some exceptions like Monica and Agnes, who are “intruders”). What if when Mr. & Mrs. Heart are asking these questions, it’s actually Wanda asking herself these questions, to quote Lizzie, “like a writer trying to work out details of this story, getting angry/frustrated on one side(Mr. Heart), combined with the denial and trying to stay in the moment (Mrs. Heart), combined with the trauma of losing Vision & not being able to have this ideal life with him.” What if they are the life Wanda wants for her and Vision? And with the way Wanda looks at Mr. Heart when he slams the table, it looks as if he struck a nerve in Wanda. Another possibility for Mr. Heart asking “Damn it why?’ could be her manifestation of Vision asking Wanda “Why did you do this? Why did you bring me back?” since we know that Vision is probably the only manifestation of Wanda that has any sort of control and when Mr. Heart asks the question and slams the table over and over, it keeps cutting back to Vision looking at Wanda, with Mrs. Heart saying “Stop it.” over and over in the background with Wanda looking concerned at Vision.  Either way, it always just comes back to the same principle that this is all in Wanda’s head and it’s her ideas and subconscious questioning herself.

  • ‘WANDAVISION’: “Welcome to WestView”

    ‘WANDAVISION’: “Welcome to WestView”

After months of radio silence from Marvel Studios, this past week, Marvel Studios started to ramp up on news once again, with reports of Jonathan Majors being cast as Kang the Conqueror, She-Hulk finding it’s the lead actress in Tatiana Maslany, with Kat Coiro set to direct multiple episodes, Olivia Wilde discussing Kevin Feige’s involvement in the upcoming Spider-Woman film, & Ms. Marvel finding its team of directors. & the news didn’t stop there as fans were treated this past Sunday to the first official trailer for the upcoming Disney+ show, WandaVision. Now, the trailer gave us a look at Wanda Maximoff & The Vision’s life after they’ve become newly-weds and are living the best of their lives in the humble little town of WestView until everything begins to fall apart.

For this Theory Thursday, I wanted to discuss a plot mechanism that I thought could play out in the show, and when I saw the trailer, I found that my theory could actually be plausible. So let’s delve right into it.

THEORY: EACH SITCOM ERA IS A “RESET”.

Okay, let me explain because it can get kind of confusing. We know that the series is a “blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe”, paying homage to multiple sitcoms over decades of television, like “I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, Roseanne, and many more”. And the biggest tease we got in the trailer was from the 50’s portion of the show, which was filmed in black & white and in front of a live studio audience. In my opinion, this is the first era the show will touch upon.

Wanda and Vision just got married and moved to the little suburban town of WestView. They want to fit in with the rest and they’re living their perfect suburban lives…until “Mr. & Mrs. Heart” (played by Fred Nelamed and Debra Jo Rupp) come over to visit them and ask them all sorts of questions like; “When did they get married? Where did they move from? Why don’t they have children yet?”. This causes Wanda to stutter because she didn’t know how to answer them. When Vision tries to answer, he doesn’t know either. Mr. Heart slams the table and asks Wanda “Dammit. Why?”, & Mrs. Heart tells him to “Stop it.” over and over, all while Wanda and Vision give each other looks of concern.

Immediately before the scene can go on, it starts to rewind. This is where “the first reset” begins. Unable to answer the questions about how/when she and Vision got married, where they came from, or why they don’t have children, Wanda loses her concentration and her 1950’s reality starts to unravel and rewind like a VHS tape until it eventually kicks her out of that made-up reality back into our own. And I believe it will go a little something like this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvfaSOcO_zI&feature=youtu.be

Now that we understand the concept of what “the reset” is, I propose that during WandaVision, Wanda will encase herself (and the town of WestView) in an alternate pocket reality, where she will try to live her life with Vision as if it were a sitcom with a happy ending, but every single time, she finds a mistake that can unravel her reality, causing her to reset the reality she is in and move to another era where she can start over, having learned from the mistakes of her previous era. But as she keeps resetting her pocket universe, or changing between eras more and more, she’ll eventually garner the attention of the likes of her nosy neighbor Agnes, S.W.O.R.D. (and possibly even a Master of the Mystic Arts). And the reason for this is that maybe, every time Wanda resets her reality, she alters the fabric of reality in all of the MCU little by little until eventually causing a rupture in that reality, which is what could kickstart the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

But we’ll only know for sure when WandaVision drops this 2020.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw Confirms ‘LOKI’ Has Resumed Production

A new interview with Gugu Mbatha-Raw with Forbes.com confirms filming on the Loki series has resumed after being put on pause last March.

Life is starting to return to somewhere near normal for Mbatha-Raw, who is now back at work filming the upcoming Marvel TV series, Loki, for Disney+ in Atlanta, Georgia.

“I was in the middle of filming when the pandemic happened, so I had a real break, I’ve been painting and reading. Like so many others, I was at home for a long time,” she said. “Not to make light of the suffering going on, but in some ways, it has been an opportunity for me to get a fresh perspective on things. It is downtime that perhaps I might not have had, and now I’m thankful to be back to work. It’s been a journey for everyone, but it’s all for a greater reason and the greater good.”

Typical of MCU actors, Mbatha-Raw isn’t giving up any details on the production, however it’s more welcome news for Marvel fans eager to see what the God of Mischief gets up to next.

“I’m obviously sworn to secrecy about everything to do with Loki, but it feels great to be back. Everyone is trying to do it as safely as possible under the circumstances, and it feels good. I’m excited. It’s a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see it.”

Editing to add a quick additional quote from another new interview with Vulture where Mbatha-Raw is a bit more specific about when they resumed filming. Previous reports were they would begin on September 14.

    Where are you right now?

I’m in Atlanta. I’m filming here, for work — Loki the Disney+ series. We just restarted a few weeks ago.

  • New Evidence Points to a Thanksgiving Weekend Release for ‘WANDAVISION’

New Evidence Points to a Thanksgiving Weekend Release for ‘WANDAVISION’

Last night, fans got their first look at the upcoming Disney+ show, WandaVision, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany. When the trailer and poster were released, any information regarding the date of its release remained a mystery, with a cryptic “coming soon.” Fans have speculated that the show would be releasing in December since the date in placeholders was December 2020. But it seems that fans won’t have to wait that long for the WandaVision premiere.

Now, for the last few days, I’ve been looking at the source code of the page to verify any sort of hidden information that could be made public to our eyes, and low and behold, I hit a goldmine.

    WandaVision Source Code

As you can see in this source code, we have found that the show’s page is currently set to debut on November 27th, 2020. Now this information was added on September 18th, 2020 as per the page’s source code informing us of the Bundle Update.

For comparison, we also checked the upcoming Disney+ show, The Mandalorian’s release date for Season 2, to verify if this information could be credible and we found The Mandalorian’s release date in the same spot that we found WandaVision’s:

The Mandalorian Season 2 Source Code

So this leads me with no other conclusion but to believe that the show is coming on November 27th. And it makes perfect sense. Nothing on the Disney+ is slated for that date and it’s a Friday. We also verified The Falcon and The Winter Soldier & Loki Pages respectively to see if any new information amassed and this is what we found:

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Source Code

    Loki Source Code

While Loki’s date remains on null for 2021, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier appears to have a December 31, 2021 date available. I don’t believe this to be the real release date and could likely be a placeholder date until an official date is confirmed.

Nonetheless, we’ll just have to wait and see if Disney releases an official confirmation.

  • Update: Disney Investor Day Now Reportedly Not Happening

Update: Disney Investor Day Now Reportedly Not Happening

UPDATE: According to a report from The Direct, a LiveStorm representative has indicated that the date, seen below, was given in error and was deleted from their website. Furthermore, they have indicated that their is no upcoming Investor Day scheduled to their knowledge.

THE WEBCAST WILL BE HELD ON OCTOBER 7TH, 2020.

We officially have a date for the next webcast of the Walt Disney Company’s “Disney’s Investor Day”. It has been confirmed to be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2020 – 10:00 AM (AST).

The information comes from the Livestorm event page, where the last Investor Day’s Webcast was streamed. During last year’s “Investor’s Day” event, Disney announced many developments regarding their Disney+ service, including updates on ESPN+, Hulu, Hotstar and announcements ranging from MCU & Star Wars films becoming available on the Disney+, to teases about Falcon and Winter Soldier, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan; WandaVision, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany; Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston; the animated What If…? seriesThe Mandalorian (Season 1), starring Pedro Pascal, etc.

Now, this event is definitely one to be paying attention to. Mainly because during this event, we could see a number of things be discussed, a couple of questions be answered, and potentially any sort of major announcement to be made. Some of these MAY include:

disney+ Subscriber Count Growth in the past few months

How much profit did Mulan make on Disney+ Premier Access?

updates, developments or casting news regarding the marvel studios d+ shows

Any possible update regarding the potential release of black widow, either through Disney+ Premier Access, theatrical release, or a hybrid model

UPDATES ON THE UPCOMING SEASON OF “THE MANDALORIAN”

This is certainly an event many of us will be paying attention to in the coming days.

  • Kid Loki Actor Possibly Revealed

    Kid Loki Actor Possibly Revealed

Several days ago, I was made aware by one of my followers Lea, about some interesting social media activity by Sophia Di Martino, among others involved with the Loki series. After further thought and considering the evidence, it seems a strong likelihood that child actor Jack Veal has the part of young Loki in the series.

Earlier this year, Murphy’s Multiverse reported that there was a casting call for a boy and a girl for the Loki series. The girl’s part has seemingly has been filled by Cailey Fleming (playing “Young Sylvie” per IMDb). The boy’s description draws a striking resemblance to a younger version of the God of Mischief, and is a good match to Jack Veal, who has appeared in The End of the F***ing World, The Favourite, and Call the Midwife.

Does this mean a version of Kid Loki from the comics is coming to the MCU? Very possibly. It has long been rumored we’d see various versions of Loki in the series. The Lokis could even be interacting with each other when you consider time travel and the TVA is involved. The role of young Sylvie, who seems to be a young version of Di Martino’s character, is curious tho, and makes me wonder if there could be a flashback between them as children. On the other hand, the part of the boy being “recurring” does point to him having a significant role in the series.

Bear in mind, this casting and role has by no means been stated officially yet. Whoever Jack is playing, I hope he has great fun filming and enjoys every minute of being part of the MCU.

  • Claire Foy Offered Key Role in ‘WHITE STORK’ with Tom Hiddleston

Claire Foy Offered Key Role in ‘WHITE STORK’ with Tom Hiddleston

Here’s some interesting news on upcoming Netflix series White Stork, which I hope Tom Hiddleston fans will appreciate. Insider Daniel Richtman kindly agreed to let me share a report from his Patreon that Claire Foy has been sent an offer to play series female lead Asher Millan opposite Hiddleston.

The English actress is well known for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix series The Crown and would certainly be a very talented match to go up against Hiddleston in this new series. It has also been reported that White Stork will be ten 60 minute episodes and is slated to stream in 2022. Likely, filming will begin in the United Kingdom early in 2021, soon after Hiddleston finishes filming the Loki series in the United States.

Daniel Richtman also listed some character descriptions and a couple new character names for White Stork, which give some clues about those roles in the series.

See a screenshot of the listing from Daniel’s Patreon (shared with his permission) below:

  • ‘THE FALCON AND WINTER SOLDIER’ Still Planning a Return to Prague

‘THE FALCON AND WINTER SOLDIER’ Still Planning a Return to Prague

Here is a quick update for all you fans of the Disney Plus Marvel series currently trying to finish up filming. Both WandaVision and Loki were expected to have resumed very recently, however no definitive proof, such as images of them filming, has popped up on the internet yet. Bear in mind, that just because we don’t see proof of them filming, doesn’t mean they are not. Both of those series have done much more on stages and backlots than on location, so we may not get much for these in comparison to others. We certainly have not seen much in the form of paparazzi or fan snagged images or details from the start of those series filming.

As for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we have certainly seen definitive proof of them filming a few times this past 2 weeks alone, due to them filming in Atlanta and being caught by both paparazzi and fans. There are still a few weeks left to film in Georgia before they travel back to the Czech Republic to finish work there. COVID-19 numbers have been rising in that country, unfortunately, so that is still very much a concern, and could certainly change plans for travel.

However, I was informed by @FFilmu (Twitter) that a permit for the production to film in the Czech Republic has finally been spotted. The permit is valid from September 29th to October 12th, and seems to be mainly for parking, possibly for some filming nearby during that period. This news, plus recent posts by the Czech casting agency for the series stating that the project would be filming “soon,” and in October, certainly supports the idea that plans are still going forward for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier to return and finish up there.

I will also note here, that the casting agency has also remarked that the crew is “regularly tested for COVID-19, so I am certain many precautions are being taken. Whether or not the whole crew and cast must go, or it will be a much more limited group, to pick up some exterior shots, stunts, and 2nd Unit stuff, remains unclear at this time.

  • Theory Thursday: Ant-Man and the Young Avengers

Theory Thursday: Ant-Man and the Young Avengers

This theory was meant to go up two weeks from now, but considering the amount of hype the Ant-Man threequel film has been getting with the casting announcement of Jonathan Majors as Kang, I thought it might be the appropriate time to discuss a little theory i’ve been working on for quite sometime now for ‘Ant-Man 3’ or as I like to call it; Ant-Man and the Young Avengers.

Ant-Man and the Young Avengers’  Concept Logo by Superhero Theorist (aka me).

Now, I want to delve a little bit into some of the comic lore that kind of helped me develop this theory.

    COMIC CONNECTIONS

Let’s talk a little bit about how the Young Avengers were formed in the comics, and actually, while I’m mentioning it, my buddy Joseph Aberl a couple of days ago actually discussed a lot of Kang’s origin in the comics here on Murphy’s Multiverse and how his counterpart, Nathaniel Richards aka Iron Lad, helped set up the Young Avengers in the comics and how the film can loosely base itself on it. So be sure to check that out if you’ve got a minute and then pop back in here if you’d like.

Caught up? Alright, well in his article, Joseph states the following point; “Nathaniel (Richards) is the one that brings the team (Young Avengers) together after the Avengers disbanded.” This is a magnificent point that he brings up and he goes on to explain how the Avengers in the MCU are pretty much disbanded following the events of Avengers: Endgame. While it is a brilliant point, I do want to add a very crucial detail to the story of the Young Avengers’ origin story, by adding just a little more to Joseph’s original statement. So, let’s look back at the statement again shall we? In the 616 continuity in the comics, “Nathaniel is the one that brings the team together after the Avengers disbanded” following the events of the comic run, House of M.

Now, this is really important because if we look back at the Phase 4 lineup, we already know that WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are well into production and are going to base themselves on the House of M comic run. And with both Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Ant-Man 3 both slated for 2022 (if all goes according to plan), we might see the repercussions of that film and WandaVision play out in a similar way to the comics with the creation of the Young Avengers as a result.

Let’s continue on with the comic lore lesson shall we?

Later on, in Young Avengers Vol. 1 #2, Nathaniel runs away from Kang after his first encounter with him and manages to escape by travelling back in time to the regular timeline. He tries to go to the Avengers for help but realized, as we stated before, that the Avengers disbanded. So he broke into a Stark Industries warehouse where he found the broken body of the Vision and his fully functioning A.I. (Depicted above). Considering that Vision right now is pretty much broken following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, it would be a nice touch to see the AI form of Vision, J.A.R.V.I.S., come back into the fray to help form the Young Avengers since his comic counterpart played an important part in the Young Avengers comics.

Either way, back to the story, Vision’s AI explained that he designed the Avengers Fail-Safe Program, a program designed “to be utilized to recruit the next generation of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, in case the Avengers were ever destroyed or disbanded.”

Eventually, he uses the program to find and assemble the Young Avengers to eventually take on Kang the Conqueror.

Now that we’ve all caught up with the story behind the Young Avengers, let’s get into my theory:

Ant-man iii might loosely base itself on the Young avengers vol. 1 storyline.

Now I’ve seen people get confused as to why the third Ant-Man film would be the place for the Young Avengers to assemble. I personally think it would be fantastic to have them assemble in this film and let me explain why. Marvel has been setting up the Young Avengers for a while now and have been teased in subtle ways through the films. The main thing is determining exactly which characters from the comics will be a part of this team in the MCU. And I think I may already have the roster.

    THE ROSTER:

This would be my ideal roster of characters for the MCU Young Avengers. The characters are (from left to right):

    AMERICA CHAVEZ

    iRON lAD

    Kate Bishop

    Hulkling

    Stature

    wiccan

    Speed

The idea of the Young Avengers joining the MCU really isn’t too crazy, since the seeds have already been planted across multiple MCU films. The idea was most recently teased during Avengers: Endgame when we saw with Cassie Lang (who eventually takes on the mantle of Stature in the comics) already being a teenager by the time Avengers: Endgame ends & Harley Keener’s appearance during Tony Stark’s funeral in that same film. Many fans have speculated for a while now the possibility of Harley Keener becoming taking on the mantle of Iron Lad and considering his age, it is entirely possible that we could see him take up the mantle. Though I wouldn’t necessarily count Nathaniel Richards out of the picture yet, considering that Kang the Conqueror was already cast in the MCU.

We already know from our good friends at the Illuminerdi and a report from our own Charles Murphy pretty much confirmed that America Chavez is joining the MCU pretty soon in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel. We also know that both of Wanda’s children, Wiccan and Speed, are set to be introduced during the Disney+ show, WandaVision, and we also know that Kate Bishop is set to be introduced in the upcoming Disney+ show, Hawkeye. Lastly, as for Hulkling, considering that he was an original Young Avengers member, a member of the skrull race, with the introduction of S.W.O.R.D. coming into play for WandaVision, and the eventual relationship he develops with Wiccan in the comics, I totally see Hulkling coming into the MCU along with the Young Avengers for their assembly.

    The mentors

Considering that this is an Ant-Man film, it’s obvious that we will be seeing more of Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, Janet Van Dyne and Hank Pym. Personally, for this film, I would love to see a sort of mentoring role from all of these characters. Scott and Hope can help train the Young Avengers in combat, while Hank can help in trying to find the best way to outsmart Kang, considering both their intellects. And Janet can help these new Avengers into understanding their powers and can finally fulfill a very important point from the comics, which is that she helped form the original Avengers in the comics.

    The threat

Kang the Conqueror is the first threat the Young Avengers face in the comics, and Jonathan Majors’ casting as Kang is definitely indicative of Marvel wanting to base themselves on the comic lore of the Young Avengers for their introduction. Kang has been known to harness the power of time to travel and has an extremely complex backstory, since time travel can be confusing at times. We know that during Avengers: Endgame, the Avengers used the Quantum Realm to travel to other points in time to collect the Infinity Stones and we also know that the upcoming projects, Loki & the Doctor Strange sequel will deal with the concepts of space-time, which might draw the attention of one particular time traveler.

If Kang does decide to intervene and take on the Earth and conqueror the world, he better be fully prepared to take on the full force of Ant-Man and the Young Avengers.

  • EXCLUSIVE: Scene Details from ‘THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER’

EXCLUSIVE: Scene Details from ‘THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER’

Last week provided exciting images of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier as they resumed filming in Atlanta, and this week it was revealed that Georges St-Pierre will return to the Marvel universe as Batroc the Leaper in the Disney Plus series.

This week we have an exclusive account from Reddit user and Marvel fan SplendaDaddy12 who watched as St-Pierre filmed a scene with Desmond Chiam and Erin Kellyman in an Atlanta Park on Tuesday, September 14, 100% confirming Kellyman’s role in the series.

According to this witness, Georges was filming in a park standing with Desmond by a bench, while Erin sat between them on the back of the bench with her feet on the seat. He could not hear any dialogue but said that Erin’s character used some kind of power, unclear how, to impress the two. The power involved extras near them in a field stopping, simultaneously looking at the phones, looking up, and all walking towards them in a group and as if in a trance.

It was unclear how exactly Erin’s character used this power, she didn’t seem to have a phone out in the scene, and a whistle of some kind is what signaled the extras to react this way. It was remarked that Desmond and Georges seemed surprised by this, whereas Erin seemed to play it cool. Georges and Desmond were dressed as they were seen in the pictures posted by Just Jared that day, Erin had on neutral colors, probably similar to how Desmond was dressed.

While we still have not completely confirmed who either Chiam or Kellyman are playing in the series, it is clear they are meant to be up to no good and causing trouble for our heroes Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. Interestingly, the mind control aspects of Erin’s character’s “powers”, seems to support the idea that she is in fact playing Melissa Gold, aka Screaming Mimi of the Grapplers, aka Songbird of the Thunderbolts, something Charles Murphy has written about a few times before (see links below).

Only time will tell who Erin and Desmond are really playing, and what exactly they’re up to. Have fun debating this new bit of information in the meantime!
