‘Nier Reincarnation’: New English Trailer Released Alongside Western Pre-Registration

Yoko Taro‘s remake of Nier Replicant has finally released, which offers those that missed out on the cult classics release a look at a world long before Nier Automata. He has also been busy working on the mobile addition titled Nier Reincarnation, which follows the story of a Girl in White, who is exploring the realm known only as Cage. Alongside the ghost Mama, she tries to unravel the mysteries of this place and uncovers hidden secrets of the franchise’s history.

To kick off the game’s pre-order on iOS and Android, IGN revealed a new trailer showcasing the game with its English dubbing. While trying to pre-register the game via the iOs App store, it also includes the potential release date. It seems that the game might be available around November, which could change depending on how production is going.

The mobile game includes many core members of the Nier development team, such as producer Yosuke Saito and composer Keiichi Okabe. As we can clearly hear from the latest trailer, Okabe‘s work remains as hypnotic as ever, as we enter a new era of the Nier franchise. It Is crazy to think how far the franchise has come considering it was a spin-off from Drakengard‘s joke ending. There was also the reveal that we can expect a Drakengard 3 event in the game, which will bring in its protagonist Zero. Reincarnation might be the game to tie together the loose threads weaved between the various franchises and unravel how it is all connected.

  • Closer Look at Chris Pratt and Omar Sy on ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Set Released

Closer Look at Chris Pratt and Omar Sy on ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Set Released

It hasn’t been easy for anyone during the pandemic. Out of nowhere, our daily activities just ended or were postponed what seems to be indefinite. The film industry felt that especially, as productions were forced to suddenly shut down and reopen while working around new safety regulations. One of those films affected was Jurassic World: Dominion. Alongside the release of a brand new image featuring Chris Pratt and Omar Sy on the film’s set, director Colin Trevorrow shared some insight into how the film was affected by the pandemic.

On the very last day we were shooting, I didn’t find out officially that we were going to shut down until about three hours before we wrapped. We were shooting in this old, industrial barn. [Producers] Alexandra Derbyshire and Pat Crowley and I had a phone call with Universal, and all of us agreed it was the right thing to do. But I still had a shoot day to finish. Whispers had begun, but we didn’t want to compromise that moment in the movie by having it be fraught in any way. So we captured it and then we went home for three months. And that day is in the movie. We didn’t go back and reshoot it.

It should also be noted that Dominion was one of the first films to re-enter production during the quarantine and become the first test case of the new COVID restrictions. Hollywood was keeping a close eye on the production, as it would determine if others could return. The gamble paid off, as many others would follow suit even s the pandemic continued throughout the world. Now that Godzilla vs. Kong was able to revive cinemas, it’ll be interesting to see if

  • Dave Bautista Joins Netflix’s ‘Knives Out’ Sequel

Dave Bautista Joins Netflix’s ‘Knives Out’ Sequel

It looks like Rian Johnson has finally found his first major casting, as Deadline has just revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Dave Bautista has joined the production. He will join Daniel Craig, who returns as Benoit Blanc in the upcoming sequel. Johson is working not the script alongside Ram Bergman, which is eyeing a production start in Greece by June 28th.  Around a month ago, the franchise was purchased by Netflix in a record-breaking deal.

Of course, plot details still remain under wraps. Benoist will return to solve another mystery with a potentially large cast. His exact role is also uncertain. Bautista is adding another major project to his belt, as he’ll also be joining the upcoming Netflix film by Zack Snyder, Army of The Dead. We also can’t talk about Bautista without mentioning his brief appearance in Blade Runner 2049 with his iconic tiny glasses. He also had a rather significant role throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Drax the Destroyer.

Now, it’ll be interesting to see how Johnson aims to reinvent his approach to a sequel.  Knives Out approach to mixing genres kept people on their toes. We even were given a clear indication of the story early on before they twisted it on its head. Now, he might not take the same steps as he did before, as we might see another genre find its way into the sequel that’ll keep viewers on their toes. At this point, we might not even have a classic murder mystery once the film releases but something entirely fresh that pushes Benoist into an unlikely direction.

  • ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ Director Andy Serkis Opens Up About Potential MCU Connections

‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ Director Andy Serkis Opens Up About Potential MCU Connections

Sony’s ever-expanding Spider-Man franchise is starting to expand. They have the cooperation with Marvel Studios, which allowed Tom Holland‘s version of the character to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Into the Spider-Verse created its own animated universe with a multitude of webheads. Now, we also have the additional live-action Venom franchise, which seems far removed from the MCU even though Morbius‘ first trailer included a direct reference with the inclusion of Michael Keaton. So, we’ve been wondering if Sony and Marvel struck a deal that their expanded compendium will also be part of the franchise. Well, it seems that Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis offered some insight during a trailer breakdown for IGN.

Obviously, there are links between Venom and Spider-Man and the Marvel Universe and the Spider-Man story. We’re treating this very much as it’s his own world. The Venom story is his own world. There are nods and little moments [like the shot of the newspaper the Daily Bugle], of course, but on the whole, he’s unaware. They are unaware, at this point, of other characters like Spider-Man. So, that’s the way we’ve chosen to play this particular episode of the movie, but, well, we’ll wait and see. We’ll see what little things you can pick out of it.

In a way, he continues to keep the door open if Tom Hardy‘s Venom could eventually become part of the MCU. The referenced newspaper includes words that seem to spell out “Avengers” which is printed on a Sam Raimi era Daily Bugle newspaper. We’ve had this confusion before when Morbius included references to the MCU version of Spider-Man, but also included a mural of his 2002 film. “Murderer” sprayed over it would imply the film takes place after Spider-Man: Far From Home. For now, the connections remain vague until we get a clearer picture of where or if the franchise takes place in the wider MCU.

  • ‘THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER’ Headed to New York for Additional Photography

‘THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER’ Headed to New York for Additional Photography

Thor: Love and Thunder has been filming in Australia for a few months now but as production down under gets closer to wrapping up, we’ve learned that some of the cast and crew will relocate to New York City for a week this summer. At the moment we have no details about what the additional photography will cover but hopefully, eagle-eyed residents of the Big Apple will catch a glimpse of the action as they did late last year when Hawkeye was filming there.

Thanos Vs Gorr The God Butcher: Who Would Win? | Fiction Horizon

NYC has served as the central location of the MCU for many big battles but a Thor/Gorr showdown there might make the alien invasions of Avengers and Avengers: Infinity War seem like small potatoes. Of course, it’s possible that Thor and Gorr won’t be duking it out there and that Thor is in NYC to visit one of his fellow Avengers (Thor could always check in with New York’s resident Master of the Mystic Arts) or it could even be the setting for part of Jane Foster’s story. At this point, we’re only able to offer wild and uninformed speculation, which is always the best kind.

Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters May 6, 2022.

  • ‘Shang-Chi’ and the Potential of the Franchise

‘Shang-Chi’ and the Potential of the Franchise

When Marvel Studios set out to make a film about little-known comic hero Shang-Chi, many fans wondered how the company would manage to put such a minor character at the forefront of their cinematic universe. It seems that Marvel Studios has taken cues from the recent relaunch of the character from 2015’s Secret Wars, in which a multiversal collision leads to the creation of multiple new realities. One of these garden-fresh worlds presents an updated take on Shang-Chi, where his father Fu Manchu (really) got replaced by the Mandarin and his Eurocentric world is swapped for a wuxia-inspired fantasyland.

The mini-series was popular with fans and led to the Master of Martial Arts receiving a larger role in the mainstream Marvel Universe. An array of rumors and fan theories have the character’s MCU future adapting multiple parts of his comic history. Now that we finally got our first glimpse confirming the modern inspiration, it also opens up brand new avenues for the franchise to expand. So, without further ado, here’s how the endlessly charismatic Simu Liu can effectively take his place as your new favorite Marvel hero.

Shang-Chi and the Agents of Atlas

It has been heavily rumored that Marvel intends to bring the Agents of Atlas to life following the release of Shang-Chi, and there is a chance the project comes to fruition as a Disney+ series between Shang-Chi films. The titular superhero team was originally brought together by Jimmy Woo after he took over a secret underground society called the Atlas Foundation. In recent comics, Shang-Chi was recruited, quickly becoming one of their most respected members. The “agent” title was not something new to Shang-Chi, who was once a part of England’s MI-6 after frequent team-ups with many of their high-ranking constituents. Some of those MI-6 agents are reportedly set to appear in Ten Rings, so the end of the film may see Liu‘s hero join their ranks.

If he does join MI-6 at the end of his solo adventure, he would more than likely be considered one of the world’s most capable government agents. Therefore, if Randall Park‘s Jimmy Woo should discover a post-WandaVision anomaly involving the mysterious Atlas Foundation, it makes sense that Shang-Chi would join his investigation. We’ve seen hints at Woo’s potential as a leader at the tail end of the latest Disney+ series. There is a chance that he and Shang-Chi might end up fighting for the leadership role. While the series would be more of an ensemble piece, it wouldn’t be hard for the hypothetical Disney+ project to lead into a more Shang-Chi-centric storyline in the future.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Iron Fist

Perhaps the most exciting possibility for a Shang-Chi sequel, and a popular one among fans, would be the introduction of Iron Fist and the magical world of K’un-L’un. If Marvel Studios wanted to take this route, they could ´´ continue drawing from the same alternate reality they decided to base Legend of the Ten Rings on. Shang-Chi and Danny Rand participate in a tournament to decide K’un-L’un’s fate, fighting side-by-side to end the contest and Mandarin’s master plans. Of course, a direct adaptation of this might not mesh with what we know about the MCU. Yet, combining elements of this plot with elements of Matt Fraction‘s The Immortal Iron Fist run could make for a compelling sequel story.

In his comics, Danny Rand got summoned to participate in the Tournament of the Seven Heavenly Cities. Each of the cities presented a champion with Rand representing his home. They fought for honor in a competition held once in a century. Iron Fist quickly discovered that the leader of K’un-L’un was corrupt and had sold out the Heavenly City to a foe in the outside world. Rand successfully leads an uprising, but not without the help of his fellow combatants and some friends on Earth.

Marvel's Shang-Chi to resume filming soon- Cinema express

Since K’un-L’un’s doors only open every ten years, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to assume they’d been closed for the duration of the MCU’s first three phases. Upon their opening, the Agents of Atlas could discover K’un-L’un’s existence with Shang-Chi volunteering to investigate the realm incognito. Once inside, our protagonist might get pulled into participating in the Heavenly Cities’ tournament, coming head-to-head with Iron Fist and the Immortal Weapons. A natural progression would be for Shang-Chi and Danny Rand to become quick friends, with the former eventually helping the latter takedown K’un-L’un’s corrupt leadership. It would be a great way for the MCU to expand the mythology of their world while continuing the through-line of martial arts tournaments and wuxia-inspired cinematography.

  • Closer Look at ‘My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission’ Stealth Suits Released

Closer Look at ‘My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission’ Stealth Suits Released

As the fifth season of My Hero Academia is currently underway, new details on the upcoming third film subtitled World Heroes’ Mission have emerged from Japan. Earlier today, series creator Kohei Horikoshi shared a closer look at the designs of Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, and Shoto Todoroki’s new designs on Twitter. The costumes are being referred to as stealth suits for the Class 1A protagonists.

As these brand new looks were revealed to the public, longtime MHA composer, Yuki Hayashi, took to Twitter to also confirm his involvement in the film. The film will tell an original story that takes place during the Hero Internship Arc. As it matches the show’s current development, there is a chance this arc will potentially be introduced in one of the final episodes. The film’s official synopsis offers some insight into why the three are called into action with these brand new stealth suits:

A mysterious group called ‘Humarize’ strongly believes in the ‘Quirk Singularity Doomsday Theory’, which states that as quirks get mixed together in with future generations, that power will bring forth an end to humanity. They believe that quirks are a disease and aim to cleanse the world of anyone who possesses quirks.

The upcoming film will focus on Deku, Bakogou, and Todoroki during their time working in Endeavor’s agency. They end up working in the nation of Oseon, where the mentioned Humarize group will enact their plans. It is uncertain how the team will get their stealth suits or if they might introduce some elements from the manga to built up towards the next arc in the series.

  • ‘MODOK’ Showrunner Jordan Blum Talks Working With Marvel Studios

‘MODOK’ Showrunner Jordan Blum Talks Working With Marvel Studios

Marvel TV has changed quite a bit since they started their ventures into television. They started the first connected series to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the release of Agents of SHIELD. It would expand with Agent Carter and the Marvel Netflix series. Everything has changed now that Kevin Feige took over that department, as they entered production on the Disney+ shows. Still, one aspect of the original studio remains with Hulu’s MODOK series. In an interview with ComicBook.com, showrunner Jordan Blum revealed that Marvel Studios was quite pleased with the project.

They really dug it and were really happy with the creative, and I think they saw that we were very respectful of, you know, everything that’d come before it. They really just let us do our own thing, you know and I don’t think we ever really got any notes or anything from them. They were just kinda like, ‘This is working, keep going.’

He also revealed that the Multiverse numbering is decided by the creator. As such, MODOK exists on Earth-1226 in tribute to his son’s birthday. It does also make us wonder if we might see other new universes join the mainline MCU, especially now that they are expanding the Multiverse in future projects. It would be fun to see a brief reference to the stop-motion animated series in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. the series was originally part of the Offenders crossover project. So, if it proves to be a success, we could potentially see Marvel Studios revive it as they remain focused on their MCU projects.

  • How ‘Eternals’ Black Knight Could Connect to ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’s Gorr

How ‘Eternals’ Black Knight Could Connect to ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’s Gorr

After a long wait, we finally got our first look at the Eternals in the latest trailer by Marvel Studios. It felt like an eternity since the film got announced, and the one-year delay didn’t help matters much. Now, we got our first taste of what is to come with some footage featuring the main cast of Chloé Zhao‘s upcoming film. There was, however, one noticeable absentee. Kit Harrington‘s Dane Whitman was missing, and even leaked merchandise doesn’t feature him. Yet, the question remains what role he may have in the series and moving forward. In a way, I believe the comics might offer a hint at how he and his iconic Ebony Blade might set up the story. In a way, it may even connect Eternals might help Gorr become the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Who Is THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER's Gorr the God Butcher? - Nerdist

In the comics, Dane Whitman is the wielder of the Ebony Blade. The cursed blade gives him immortality at the price of his sanity. It makes anyone wielding it become bloodthirsty and absorbs their negative emotions. At one point, we learn that it connects to Knull. Another one of his weapons ends up in the hands of Gorr the God Butcher. His All-Black the Necrosword is, in reality, the first symbiote ever created and formed into a weapon that was able to slay a Celestial, which eventually would become Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Knowhere.

We still don’t know what role Whitman will have outside of being part of a love triangle between him, Gemma Chan‘s Sersi, and Richard Madden‘s Ikaris. As he wants to protect his love, he may pull the blade from its slumber against the warnings of his ancestors. Now donning his Black Knight armor, Whitman joins the Eternals in their battle against the Deviants. He wants to prove that humanity is not as helpless as they think. The man fights tooth and nail to hold his own. As he falls to his knees due to exhaustion, the sword takes control and shows the brutality of man. The love triangle has left its scars deep within his heart that the Ebony Sword abused.

Eternals: Who is Marvel's Black Knight? | Den of Geek

Sersi, in a last-ditch effort, manages to separate him from the sword as he fights the inner demon trying to take control. To prove that these words were meaningless, he stabs himself with the sword to loosen his grip before it is cast out into space as it cracks. It isn’t until eons later that the destruction of Asgard during the battle between Hela and Surtur that the blade would regain its original form. All-Black has finally been released from his prison and seeks the missing part. The creature combines with the Ebony Blade as he lands on a deserted planet to become his original form. Looking for a host, he finds Gorr and their fusion leads to the events of Thor: Love and Thunder.

Whitman survives his wounds with the help of Ajak. He is also given a parting gift by Angelina Jolie‘s Thena in the form of a cosmic-based blade, which we got a glimpse of in the trailer. It could be how they introduce the Photon Blade. The Knull connection offers a lot of curious ways to play on the franchise’s newly introduced mythology. Venom‘s film rights in Sony’s possession, he might not join the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon. Still, they could retcon this connection at a later date to build upon it.

Development on the upcoming reboot of Red Sonja has begun with the project recently casting its lead in Hannah John-Kamen. Kamen joins director and co-writer Joel Soloway and writer Tasha Huo.
