  • Marvel Studios Reportedly Wanted Robert Pattinson to Bring Vengeance to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ as This Oft-Rumored Character

Marvel Studios Reportedly Wanted Robert Pattinson to Bring Vengeance to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ as This Oft-Rumored Character

He is vengeance. Or at least he said he was in 2022’s The Batman. And it appears as though the Marvel Parliament were impressed enough by Robert Pattinson‘s performance as the tortured and vengeful Caped Crusader that they had the character in mind to portray a different character driven by a deeply-rooted desire to extract retribution.

According to social media scooper @ApocHorseman, Marvel Studios met with Pattinson over the last year in hopes of convincing the actor to take on the role of Marvel’s Spirit of Vengeance: the Ghost Rider.

Blazeinson? Ketchinson? Maybe just Ghostinson? Whatever the case, it seems as though Pattinson turned down the role–maybe because he thought he might be busy filming The Batman-Part II. “Pattinson was eyed for [Ghost Rider] at one point,” said ApocHorseman during a Q&Abon X, before revealing that “it’s not gonna be him.”

Ghost Rider’s arrival in the MCU has been rumored to be imminent for several years now with ApocHorseman and Jeff “The In” Sneider leading the last year’s round of rumors that had the character appearing in Avengers: Doomsday. Stars such as Ryan Gosling and Keanu Reeves have been associated with role in the past and Marvel Television boss Brad Winderbaum has made it clear he’s interested in bringing the Danny Ketch iteration of the character to the MCU one day.

  • Third ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Teaser to Reportedly Feature a Pair of Marvel Movie Legends..and One Seriously Misused Star

Third ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Teaser to Reportedly Feature a Pair of Marvel Movie Legends..and One Seriously Misused Star

While the chronically online bemoan how little the Steve Rogers-centric first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday smacked their gobs, normies in theaters have responded with genuine shock to see Chris Evans back in the MCU. As film Twitter continues to judge the film a failure, marketing for the 2026 flick carries on as if it will still be released. The newest teaser–which of course leaked online ahead of its theatrical debut–featured Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor, rocking a look reminiscent of the one he spotted in Avengers: Infinity War. As you might expect, that stirred up a hornet’s nest of opinions about how the “worst Thor” was coming back for Avengers: Doomsday, proving that opinions–even terrible ones–do vary.

Given the volume of utter nonsense that the last two teasers generated, Twitter should prove to be a veritable hell next week, should rumors about the third teaser hold true.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, the next teaser for Avengers: Doomsday–which is rumored to run for just one minute and nine seconds–will feature a trio of characters from Fox’s X-Men franchise. According to Richtman, James Marsden‘s Cyclops will be featured along with Sirs Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, who will reprise their respective roles as Charles Xavier and Magneto in the film.

Though all three actors were confirmed to be part of the cast of Avengers: Doomsday during the five-hour long chair stunt Marvel Studios pulled off earlier this year, some members of general audiences will still be surprised and even down right shocked to learn of their inclusion in the project.

You can feel that it’s something special. The world is ready for this movie and these worlds are ready to collide.

    -James Marsden

In Marsden‘s case, Avengers: Doomsday provides him with a chance to put some meat on the bone of his legacy as Cyclops following Fox’s gross mishandling of the character. And, as was seen in some promotional art of the main cast, the fresh opportunity comes with a brand new, Jim Lee-inspired costume which automatically works as an upgrade. Its expected–and perhaps even teased by Marsden–that Avengers: Doomsday will feature Earth-10005’s mutant heroes teaming up to take on Earth-616’s mightiest heroes as the two Earths colide during, perhaps, the final incursion before the destruction of the Multiverse.

  • Russo Brothers Share ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Countdown One Year From Film’s Release

Russo Brothers Share ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Countdown One Year From Film’s Release

It’s been quite a week for Marvel Studios. Ahead of the theatrical release of Avatar: Fire and Ash, the Steve Rogers-centric Avengers: Doomsday teaser meant to debut with that film leaked online, stirring up an absurd amount of angst. That leak was followed by audio from the second, Thor-centric trailer hitting the web along with a recording of the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which really had fans buzzing despite the poor quality of the video. However, even as its vaunted security measures seem to be falling apart, nothing official ha come from the studio, until now.

As of today, the theatrical release of Avengers Doomsday is exactly one year away and, to celebrate that, The Russo brothers posted an official countdown clock to their Instagram account.

Reminiscent of the countdown that unfolded on the covers of Jonathan Hickman‘s Avengers and New Avengers titles in the months leading up to 2015’s Secret Wars, the clock briefly changes to read “DOOMSDAY” at one point.

Doctor Doom has officially arrived in the MCU. This villain, a master of cutting-edge science and powerful magic, will unleash a cascading crisis across the entire multiverse.

-First official synopsis for Avengers: Doomsday

With Avengers: Doomsday believed to be largely inspired by Jonathan Hickman‘s work on Avengers and New Avengers titles, it’s possible that the Fox X-Men’s Earth, Earth-10005, could serve as a stand-in for Earth-1610 (the original Ultimate universe) which went to war with Earth-616 during the final incursion before Secret Wars. In September, James Marsden, who will reprise his role as Cyclops, teased that “worlds are ready to collide.” With Monica Rambeau still stranded on what’s believed to be Earth-10005, it’s easy to begin to imagine how things might unfold with Doom pulling the strings.

First ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Teaser Details Reveal More of Marvel’s Unique Rollout Plans and Confirms the Return of a Major Infinity Saga Star

Over the past week, details about Marvel Studios plans to market Avengers: Doomsday have slowly emerged. While it’s been known for some time that the studio planned to attach a teaser trailer to Avatar: Fire and Ash–which hits theaters this Thursday evening–and while that remains true, it turns out the studio is taking a very unique approach in its marketing rollout.

Industry insider Daniel Richtman revealed that Marvel has cut FOUR different teasers for Avengers: Doomsday, with a new one being released theatrically on a weekly basis. Now thanks to Cryptic HD Quality–one of the most consistently accurate sources for trailer information–a description of the first teaser has made its way online.

Following a little dispute with My Time To Shine Hello, Cryptic revealednthat the first teaser feature footage of Steve Rogers riding a motorcycle and then arriving at what during production was referred to as the “Luke Cage” house where it is revealed he and Peggy have a young son. Text then appears on the screen that reads “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday” ahead of the film’s release date and a “Doomsday countdown clock.”

Oh, interesting, so they switched the order. Doom was supposed to go first. Okay, no reason for me to hide it then, or people would think I was BSing.

The four ‘trailers’ aren’t really trailers, they’re four short scenes, each focusing on a different character. The one with Steve was originally supposed to be the third, but it looks like it’s going to be the first now. It shows Steve riding home on a bike. He has a baby boy. There’s a tagline that reads ‘Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday’ followed by ‘December 2026’ and then a countdown.

Since they changed the order, I’m ASSUMING Thor will be the second one now.

-Teaser description from Cryptic HD Quality

In addition to the description of the first teaser, Cryptic HD Quality also revealed that two of the remaining three teasers will feature Thor and, of course, Doctor Doom, leaving fans to theorize and speculate on what character(s) will be featured in the fourth teaser. Given that the three known teasers feature actors from the Infinity Saga–even if Robert Downey Jr. is playing a new role–perhaps Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki will be featured…or perhaps not.

  • Avengers…Assemble! ‘Endgame’ to Return to Theaters in 2026

Avengers…Assemble! ‘Endgame’ to Return to Theaters in 2026

Ahead of the release of Avengers: Doomsday–the first Avengers film in over seven-and-a-half years–Marvel Studios will re-release Avengers: Endgame in theaters next Fall.

According to THR’s Borys Kit, Endgame, which wrapped up the studio’s Infinity Saga, will be back in theaters for an undefined window beginning on September 25, 2026. Doomsday debuts just about three months later on December 18, 2026.

The re-release will provide Endgame with the opportunity to creep a little closer to the all-time box office champ, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, though it’s unlikely to  jump to #1.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who have returned to Marvel Studios for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, Avengers: Endgame featured the final appearances of several characters, including Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., both of whom are returning for the new film, with Downey as the main antagonist, Doctor Doom. Reports have indicated that despite dozens of projects that have released since Endgame was in theaters, Doomsday will be a sequel to that project.

  • The Arrival of the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Online May be Imminent…and It’s Too Short

The Arrival of the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Online May be Imminent…and It’s Too Short

If more than a decade covering this industry has taught me anything, it’s that there’s nothing more important than when a trailer for an upcoming movie will release…well, other than runtimes. Thankfully, fans have known for some time now that the wait for the first look at Avengers: Doomsday wouldn’t be much longer since it’s been confirmed to be attached to James Cameron‘s Avatar: Fire and Ash. However, it’s rare that trailers truly debut theatrically as they are almost always released online ahead of time. So when will that teaser drop on Disney’s social media channels?

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman–who has LONG worn the trailer info crown–Disney is planning to release a teaser for a major upcoming movie on December 11th. While Richtman clearly states that he can’t be sure it will be the teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, the studio has already rolled out teasers and trailers for almost all of its major 2026 releases, increasing the odds that it will indeed be Doomsday.

Should it be Doomsday on December 11th, fans won’t have much footage to see. According to Cryptic4KQual, who has also long been a reliable source of trailer information, the teaser will be “a bit above a minute in length.” Runtimes!

With the film still a year away, it’s unlikely Marvel would want to give too much a way, holding onto some key bits and pieces for next summer; however, the studio also knows it needs to make sure fans are blown away by the first look to hopefully help get them back in theaters following a less than awesome year at the box office.

  • Captain America’s Team of Avengers OFFICIALLY Revealed in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promo and It Includes One Shocking Surprise

Captain America’s Team of Avengers OFFICIALLY Revealed in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promo and It Includes One Shocking Surprise

With the first teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday set to release this month, Disney has just revealed the composition of one of the film’s core teams. As part of a larger Disney showcase held in Italy, Sam Wilson’s team of Avengers has been revealed…and it includes a very unexpected member.

As seen in the video below–which also features the Fantastic Four, New Avengers and X-Men, Sam’s Avengers will include Thor, Ant-Man, Shang-Chi, Falcon and the God of Stories, Loki.

Interestingly enough, a variant of Loki recently went by the moniker of Avenger Prime in Marvel Comics Avengers Forever and Avengers Assemble events.

The current iteration of Loki in the MCU has MUCH in common with Avenger Prime Loki and indeed fans have theorized that the character, last seen at the Citadel at tht End of Time in the Loki Season 2 finale, might take on such a role in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

With the teaser set to drop soon, we’ll see just how much Marvel Studios is willing to let out of the bag!

  • A New Rumor Suggests Wanda Maximoff Will Return for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’…But Elizabeth Olsen May Not

A New Rumor Suggests Wanda Maximoff Will Return for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’…But Elizabeth Olsen May Not

Despite a lengthy absence from the MCU, Elizabeth Olsen remains one of Marvel Studios’ highest-profile stars. Incredibly talented and beloved by a coven of stans rivaled only by Tom Hiddleston‘s crew, Olsen has made Wanda Maximoff one of the shared universe’s most complicated characters.

I just wanted everything to feel like some version of an advancement, even if the advancement is someone feeling a different reaction to the pain and loss. We also haven’t seen her have a reaction to what happened in Westview. Even if we watched her go through trauma and loss, we haven’t seen her go through the loss of the children. I think, for any parent — I would assume, because I’m not one — the loss of the child would always be much harder than the loss of anyone else important in your life. I just wanted to make sure it was a constant evolution forward and not repetitive…How do we make this different but still part of the woman that we know?

    -Elizabeth Olsen

Shaped by continued trauma, Wanda has gone from villain to hero to villain again but despite her apparent death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there’s still plenty more runway for the character to return to the MCU. Kevin Feige has teased a future for Wanda and Olsen has remained open to returning to the role, though despite being at the center of multiple rumors, the actress has denied involvement in any upcoming projects, including Avengers: Doomsday, saying “nothing has been agreed on” in regards to her future in the MCU. However, a new rumor has kicked up some interesting ideas online, including the potential return of the character without Olsen in the role.

Social media scooper James Mack passed along word from a source that a “good and heroic version of the Scarlet Witch” from Earth-10005 will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. Interestingly enough, despite having a description of the character’s costume, Mack mentions he is uncertain if Olsen will be playing this new variant.

It’s an all together wild collection of tidbits but it can’t be completely ruled out as fabrication. While Olsen does not seem to have been on set during principal photography on Avengers: Doomsday, extensive additional photography is planned to get underway early next year. With rumors that the film’s script may not have been complete while filming was underway, it’s entirely possible that Olsen…or whoever else steps into the role…might not have had to have been on set yet.

With the Young Avengers/Champions coming together and her two, reincarnated sons counted among their number, it’s hard to imagine the character and the star behind her will be left on the sidelines for long.

  • Mayday, Mayday: Mystery Surrounding Sadie Sink’s Role Takes a New Twist as Star Joins ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’

Months after being cast in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sadie Sink‘s role is still the subject of speculation among fans and insiders. Reports and rumors have pegged the Stranger Things star as Jean Grey, Mayday Parker, Gwen Stacey and even the shape-shifting insectoid deity Shathra. Even after appearing on set in the UK, Sink’s role remains a mystery and how it’s taken a new twist.

According to Deadline’s Baz Bamigboye, Sink has joined the cast of “the next Avengers picture.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to open on July 31. There has been much speculation about the role Sink has in the Spidey film, and frankly, I do not know the answer, but I do know that she’ll join the cast of the next Avengers picture that shoots here in London later in 2026.

    -Baz Bamigboye

Though Bamigboye’s wording obfuscates the message to some extent, it would seem as though he’s referring to Avengers: Secret Wars which is, of course, NOT the “next Avengers picture,” but will shoot “later in 2026.” Of course, with the Russos preparing to shoot additional photography on Avengers: Doomsday early next year, it is possible Sink will appear in that film instead–or in both!

The news certainly calls into question the nature of Sink’s role and would seem to launch Jean Grey and Mayday Parker back to the top of the list. The latter becomes especially interesting with the recent report of Tobey Maguire returning to the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday. Whatever the case, while surprising, it’s not shocking that the studio has cast an actress of Sink’s caliber and demand in something more than a one-off.

  • Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Reportedly Set to Return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Tobey Maguire‘s appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home was rumored long before the film opened in theaters but despite plenty of legitimate proof that the star was in the film, legions of fans refused to believe it until he walked through his portal. And while folks may not have believed Maguire was part of the project, it turned out he and Andrew Garfield were instrumental in pulling things together.

The film’s writers, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, revealed that Maguire and Garfield had significant input on the way their characters shaped the film, making sure the focus stayed on Tom Holland‘s Peter while the other two Spideys helped Holland on his journey.

He was really excited to be back. You could tell it really meant a lot to him. Him putting the suit on again. Us getting back together. It was awesome.

-Tom Holland on Tobey Maguire’s return as Spider-Man

Since the film, fans have become fascinated with the idea of seeing more of Maguire‘s Spidey, whether back in the MCU or in a fourth Sam Raimi Spider-Man film. While the latter remains an intriguing option, a new report indicates that Maguire will be suiting up again quite soon.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, Tobey Maguire‘s Spider-Man will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, set to be in theaters in December 18, 2026.

Maguire’s name has been floated for both Doomsday and the follow-up, Avengers Secret Wars, for some time now. The possibility of Maguire sharing the screen with members of the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men–specifically Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine–seems to appeal to audiences. Richtman’s report doesn’t indicate if that’s set to happen in Doomsday or if Maguire is expected to return for Secret Wars but with Incursions ending universes, there’s a pretty clear entry point for just about any character into the next two films.
