‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ Leak Confirmed, Among Gaming’s Biggest

It’s been a heavy day for Rockstar Games, as one of their biggest upcoming releases has seemingly leaked, Grand Theft Auto 6. We don’t know what exactly led to it but it seemed unreal that so much footage would find its way online, as it seemingly is from the actual developers. It offered some first looks into the long-rumored game that’s been seemingly in development for quite some time.

To some degree, it just seemed surreal and many were uncertain if it was actual footage of an earlier version of the game. As it turns out, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has seemingly confirmed that this is indeed from an earlier build of Grand Theft Auto 6, which may be one of the biggest leaks in gaming history.

While some are excited about the first footage of the game, this isn’t something to really be excited about. Small hints or teases have become part of the overall way for the Internet to build up momentum but never to such a degree. It’s heavy for the first look to be an unlikely very early version of the game that is purely meant for the developers. Other devs like Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann have reached out to support Rockstar through these hard times.

It definitely should not be something to drag down the talented staff at Rockstar Games and discourage anyone from bringing their projects to life. Those that have spoken out about the quality and it being “unfinished” should also keep in mind that this is indeed the case. We have very little insight into the complexities of game development, and this is definitely not in any way the finished product as that would only be the case once Rockstar Games decided to actually reveal it to us on their own terms.

  • RUMOR: First ‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ Footage Potentially Leaks, Further Hints at Return to Vice City

RUMOR: First ‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ Footage Potentially Leaks, Further Hints at Return to Vice City

The Internet has always been unpredictable, especially in the day and age of leaks and scoopers rising in popularity. Still, gaming mainly was safe outside of small elements finding their way online such as skin leaks from Marvel’s Avengers. This time around, one of the biggest leaks may have happened as the first footage has found its way online from the long-rumored Grand Theft Auto 6. We still have to take it with a grain of salt but it’s certainly looking to be quite real given just how much has been revealed.

The game is seemingly going for a Bonnie and Clyde storyline, as the game features male and female protagonists, Jason and Lucia. It also is seemingly taking place in Vice City with some familiar locations teased like Malibu Club. Twitter user @Okami13_ has shared some of the details that were noticed in the footage provided online. There’s also a full video of a diner takeover that was seemingly leaked where the player takes control of Lucia.

This footage seems to be from a dev build and it’s unclear just how someone was able to get their hands on it. That isn’t the only footage, as @Who2Pitts has also shared what seems like a conversation between NPCs highlighting that this is indeed the dev version with a debug menu included.

If this turns out to be real, it’s definitely one of the biggest leaks we’ve seen in a while for a game this deep into development. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has seemingly also added fuel to the fire by pointing out that a lot that has leaked also connects with what he’s heard about the game, which includes two protagonists and Vice City as the main location. For now, we’ll have to see if Rockstar will make a statement in regards to these leaks eventually or if they might still keep a potential reveal a secret until it’s ready.

D23: Skydance Media’s WW2 Marvel Game May Be Single Player After All

The first-ever Disney and Marvel Games Showcase has gone by in what seems like a flash with a few interesting reveals. Among them was the confirmation that Skydance Media is definitely working on a Captain America and Black Panther-focused game. Some became a bit curious about the mention of four heroes, as a soldier and member of the Dora Milaje are joining Captain America and that era’s Black Panther given its WW2 focus.

It made some think it might be a multiplayer game but the D23 expo continued with the developers offering some insight into he game and it turns out, it’s actual a “character-driven action adventure game” which opens up to this being a single-player game after all as shared by Andrew Reiner from the event. So we may actually switch between these four characters throughout the storyline to explore World War 2 from these different perspectives.

The trailer has just been revealed not only outright confirming it but also seemingly hinting at a four-player mode. It may be an online multiplayer game but the teaser doesn’t give away a lot as of now and we’ll have to wait for more information. The game is the one that Skydance is currently working on with Uncharted’s May Hennig headlining the project.

  • ‘Uncharted’ Creator’s Marvel Game Is Rumored to Be A WW2 Captain America Game

‘Uncharted’ Creator’s Marvel Game Is Rumored to Be A WW2 Captain America Game

Last year, a report surfaced saying that Uncharted creator Amy Hennig was working on a AAA Marvel under her new company, Skydance Games. While no other information was divulged in the report, the game was described as a “narrative-driven, blockbuster action-adventure game, featuring a completely original story and take on the Marvel Universe.”

A Twitter account is claiming that the game Hennig is working on is a Captain America-Black Panther adventure set in WW2. Regarding their track record, said Twitter account is also claiming they leaked Matt Shakman directing Fantastic Four ahead of The Direct so take as much salt as you will.

Should this story be true, this won’t be the only Black Panther game in development as EA is reportedly working on an open-world Black Panther game set in Wakanda. Nonetheless, a WW2 game starring Captain America game seems like the kind of story-driven game a visionary like Hennig would work on. While it’s not being developed by Naughty Dog, a Captain America-Black Panther with the gameplay and graphical fidelity of the Uncharted games would be incredible.

  • New ‘Mafia’ Game Announced for its 20th Anniversary

New ‘Mafia’ Game Announced for its 20th Anniversary

It’s crazy to think how far the Mafia franchise has come. The Czech gaming franchise has made quite the splash internationally with a variety of entries and spinoffs, even as Hangar 13 took over and it started being published by 2K Games. The original studio of Illusion Softworks even changed its title to 2K Czech over the years, but the fundamentals still remain with the game exploring a Great Depression setting to this day.

The game originally started with Mafia back in 2002 before it spawned two sequels. In 2020, they released a “Definite Edition” of the original after Hangar 13 took over production of the third entry. The game even got two spinoffs, but it looks like a new numbered sequel is potentially making a return as revealed by Art Director of Mafia 2 who would go on to become Studio head General Manager, Roman Hladík. In an interview as part of the 20th anniversary, he revealed an all-new game is in development.

I’m happy to confirm we’ve started work on an all-new Mafia project! While it’s a few years away and we can’t share anything more right now, we’re really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.

    Roman Hladík

As the game is still in early development, it seems we’ll have to wait a little longer until we get any further details. It’ll be interesting to see fit this is an official fourth entry or perhaps a new game altogether that focuses on establishing a new spinoff to give the franchise a fresh start as it’s been quite some time since the third entry was released.

GAMESCOM: ‘Dead Island 2’ Eyeing February Release

While it has somehow accidentally leaked before the Gamescom event, it’s now been confirmed that Dead Island 2 is happening and it looks like we won’t have to wait that much longer until it releases. Not only did we get an impressive new CG trailer but even some gameplay that promises the usual insanity from this franchisee. Dead Island 2 is going to release on February 3rd, 2023, and will offer six different playable characters.

  • GAMESCOM: ‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space’ Multiplayer Game in Development

GAMESCOM: ‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space’ Multiplayer Game in Development

The Killer Klowns from Outer Space are back. While we’re not getting a new film, it looks like the classic horror franchise is getting a new game as revealed during 2022’s GamesCom. It’ll be another horror multiplayer game like what we’ve seen with Evil Dead and Friday the 13th and is eyeing an early 2023 release. Teravision Games and Good Shephard are developing the game, who previously worked on the Friday the 13th game.

It definitely wasn’t on my bingo card that we’d ever see the return of Killer Klowns from Outer Space as a game. While definitely considered a cult classic, it may be quite the obscure franchise to revive in this format. Yet, it’s a perfect addition for something out there that’ll likely draw in new faces to check out what in the world these creepy-looking clowns are all about. Plus, Stranger Things has brought back a new nostalgia wave and who knows if the franchise might make a return on the silver screen.
