  • Lana Wachowski’s ‘Matrix 4’ Title Leaked Online

Lana Wachowski’s ‘Matrix 4’ Title Leaked Online

Warner Bros. has a major year ahead of it. Just recently, we got the first official trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong. It was followed by a teaser of the various projects that will hit theaters and HBO Max simultaneously throughout the year. Among them, there is also the highly anticipated release of the fourth entry in the Matrix franchise. So far, we heard very little from the project and many were still wondering if we would get a similar naming scheme from the last two sequels, Reloaded and Revolutions. Well, it looks like this is actually the case, as the title was accidentally leaked online when the production wrap gifts were shown off on Instagram. It reveals that the film’s name will be Matrix: Resurrections.

Resurrection is a perfect title. It continues the trend of each sequel including a play on a word that starts with “re”. It is the revival of the franchise that ended in 2003. Lana Wachowski also returned to direct, write and produce the series. Many of the actors are also set to return from the original trilogy, which includes Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett Smith. The film is currently set to release in December, so we have no idea what direction the story might be heading and how it continues the story of Neo.

As Warner Bros. has been holding back with their trailers, we might not get an official trailer until a few months before the release, so the title reveals might not officially happen until then. It is the second time a title was accidentally leaked online, as  Jared Leto also accidentally released the subtitle for the upcoming Tron film half a year ago. Hopefully, as time goes by 2021, Warner Bros. might start release trailers a bit earlier than just two months in advance so we find out what the future has in store for Neo and Trinity.

  • UPDATE: ‘Titans’ Casting Jay Lycurgo as Tim Drake Confirmed

UPDATE: ‘Titans’ Casting Jay Lycurgo as Tim Drake Confirmed

Update: Well, it didn’t take long for the official Titans account to finally confirm the casting.

The upcoming season of Titans may become a turning point for the series. Finally, long-awaited characters are joining the series. During the FanDome event in August, we learned that the third season would see the debut of Barbara Gordon and Scarecrow in this series. We also learned that Jason Todd would become the Red Hood, as Blackfire finally arrives on Earth. It teased a great battle for the future of our planet. There was, however, one more rumor that had been teasing the upcoming season’s direction. We might see the live-action debut of one more iconic Batman character, the only other mind that could rival the world’s greatest detective, Tim Drake.

We’ve been anticipating any casting news that would confirm this rumor. Supposedly, Titans may have already cast Robin, and that he could join the ranks of the Titans to fill the void Todd left behind. The small site Full Circle Cinema ran a story that Ryan Lycurgo was cast in the role based on a posting in the DC’s Titans Facebook Group. Interestingly enough, the actor is no stranger to DC, as he can be seen in the trailer for the upcoming The Batman film. He was one of the goons with painted faces near the end of the trailer. Now, we had no other word on if this casting may turn out to be true. At least until Ryan Potter, who many might recognize as Titans’ Beast Boy, confirmed the casting on Twitter.

Titans’ third season is currently in production after suffering a massive delay due to the ongoing pandemic. The project will debut on HBO Max and will see the return of the Titans as they make their way to Gotham City. There, they’ll find themselves working with the new commissioner, Barbara Gordon. Drake’s introduction makes sense within this season and could lead to a larger role alongside this version’s Batman. We’ll see how his role will fit into the larger narrative set-up by the show and if we might see some spin-offs shortly.

  • Live-Action ‘Harry Potter’ Series in Development for HBO Max

Live-Action ‘Harry Potter’ Series in Development for HBO Max

The Wizarding World is about to grow even bigger, as The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that a live-action Harry Potter series is in development. It seems the Executives over at WarnerMedia have been in talks with various writers but nothing is set in concrete as of now. No deals have been made, as HBO Max and Warner Bros. have made the statement that nothing is in active development. The franchise is one of the studio’s most valuable IPs, so it makes sense that they have something planned. J.K. Rowling is presumed to still be involved, as she still has control over the franchise.

The franchise hasn’t been free from controversy, mostly surrounding Rowling‘s recent comments. Warner Bros. also replaced Johnny Depp with Mads Mikkelsen in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts film. Still, the franchise has quite the following ever since the original film aired in 2001 before Deathly Hallows ended the story of the franchise’s titular character. It wasn’t until 2016 that Fantastic Beasts sparked a new wave of excitement, as Warner Bros. saw to expand upon the now-titled Wizarding World.

As there are no writers involved, the series can be a prequel, sequel, or even a midquel. It would be interesting to explore a modern Hogwarts, where students are also using modern technology in combination with their magic. There is also a lot of wizarding history that has yet to be explored, so anything is possible. We’ll most likely hear more from this project once they’ve found the right writer.

  • Why Kong will Rule after ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’

Why Kong will Rule after ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’

The long-awaited sequel of Godzilla vs. Kong is only a few months away. And with the trailer that just came out, we cannot wait to see the legendary throwdown between these two iconic monsters. However, the history behind this battle spans multiple decades. It has been an old-age question, and fans have different arguments in favor of their personal favorite. Most people underestimate Kong and speculate that it would be a one-sided battle. Let me brush you up on Kaiju cinematic history if you still think Kong has no chance. It isn’t the first time the two Kaijus are at odds against each other. In Toho’s 1962 film, King Kong vs. Godzilla, it was Kong who stood victorious once Mount Fuji ended. Therefore, calling Godzilla vs. Kong a one-sided battle is a bit premature. Now, let me make the case why I believe Kong will be victorious and become the true king of monsters.

People have been attributing Godzilla’s victory to their size, which is misleading. The last time we saw Kong was during the events of Kong: Skull Island (2017). It took place in 1973, so the big feller was still growing during that time. The trailer confirmed that once we reach Godzilla vs. Kong, we will see a taller and more mature Kong. Although Godzilla has shown better resilience and endurance in his previous films, Kong has the advantage of incredible strength, durability, and long arms. In addition to his speed and skills, he has an upper edge over his competitor.

Godzilla is slow due to his bulky size. In contrast, Kong has more mobility to move around. We’ve seen him demonstrate his flexibility and how he makes short work of enemies with his long arms. He is also able to leap very high, so he can easily dodge any attacks. While Kong and Godzilla are great fighters, Kong gets a competitive edge with his skills to jump over mountains and durable buildings. Moreover, the Toho original has imbued the Kong with the ability to absorb and zap out lightning with his hands that add to his already impressive physical attributes. I do, however, believe that this won’t be adapted in the upcoming film.

We also have to consider their intelligence. It is subjective, but we have seen it in previous films. Godzilla’s fighting still adapts to whoever he is facing. Meanwhile, Kong shows a higher understanding of who his allies are and who isn’t. He also forms strategies and focuses on his enemies’ weak points by utilizing tools to gain an advantage. It just proves that this won’t be as one-sided as people believe it to be, so anyone can win. The important thing to consider here is that they might not kill each other, as Legendary has some big plans for these characters. My point is that Kong is capable of defeating Gojira in a fight. We will have to wait until March 26, when Godzilla vs. Kong drops in theaters and on HBO Max.

  • Why Godzilla Will Triumph in ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’

Why Godzilla Will Triumph in ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’

After many delays, Godzilla vs. Kong is finally happening. It has been a long wait, but fans of the Monsterverse are about to get the clash we’ve been waiting for since 1962’s original King Kong vs. Godzilla. Of course, we’ve seen many variations of the VS type of film, such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In most cases, the two opposing forces are going to fight a uniting villain. So, in many cases, the actual fight is a showdown with no definite winner. There are exceptions, but it is the common trope you can expect. Luckily, in an interview with IndieWire, director Adam Wingard confirmed that there will be an actual victor. So, Edward and I are marking our case for who we believe to be victorious. In my case, I think the winner here is going to be Toho’s resident lizard, Godzilla.

Why do I think the nuclear-powered giant is going to win? Ignoring my bias here, I think Godzilla has proven his fighting capabilities against various monsters throughout the franchise. He took down two MUTOs in the 2014 film before killing a literal alien Ghidora in the sequel. We’ve also seen Godzilla take quite a few punches, so an overgrown gorilla is not going to be that different from what he took on before. His atomic breath is also an effective way to take down any enemy that tries to get in to close. Plus, he is an incredible swimmer that can easily drag the giant ape into his territory to take him down without an issue.

He does have a weakness. In comparison to Kong, Godzilla is quite a bit slower and less agile. So, there is a good chance the monkey will get some good punches in throwing him off balance. It’s going to be the true test of his abilities, as he needs to keep his environment in mind. His tiny T-Rex arms aren’t going to help him if the monkey starts swinging a subway car like nunchucks. Still, he has experience fighting enemies that can fly, so I bet Kong jumping around isn’t as daunting a task as it could be otherwise.

No matter who wins, we are going to have a blast watching it. Though, I do not doubt in my mind that Godzilla’s got this fight. Edward can make an argument he wants to, we all know that the true king of Monsters will keep that title for as long as he roams the Earth. He is just getting ready, and his spine is already glowing up. Even if Kong got a little bigger since Kong: Skull Island, he has no chance. He probably has gotten lazy during his time there while Godzilla was out there keeping nature in check. We can answer the debate with a simple question. What is a king to a God?

  • First ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Trailer Confirms Mechagodzilla

First ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Trailer Confirms Mechagodzilla

The first trailer for Godzilla vs Kong has just been released and it showcases the clash of ages. We know that a big part of this film will focus on the fight between the two titular titans. It was built up since the post-credit sequence from Kong: Skull Island. So, finally, we got a first good look at the film after constant delays. Many of us wondered if it will follow the usual VS film trope that a third adversary brings them together. Well, there was a rumor going around that the film would include the metallic copy of everyone’s favorite atomic lizard, Mechagodzilla. The release of the film’s toyline was our first real showcase. Well, the trailer also confirms his inclusion in some blink-and-you-miss-it moments:

Early on in the trailer, we see people running away from what seems to be Godzilla. If you take a closer look in the upper right corner, you can actually see that his neck is lighting up. Yes, they actually included their secret villain in the first trailer. Later on, we even get a tease on a screen that showcases Godzilla with specific hotspots. The trailer also reveals that the titular titan is pissed off about something. Most likely, there is something rather unnatural going on with the mechanical version of our favorite lizard. We learned throughout the previous films that he exists to balance out events throughout the world. It was a huge factor in Godzilla: King of the Monsters as he took on King Ghidorah, who is an alien. It is really exciting to see this come together and cannot wait to see the monster action once it airs in theaters and on HBO Max in March.

  • First ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Trailer Teases Titans Clashing

First ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Trailer Teases Titans Clashing

It has been a long wait but finally, we got our first full look at the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong film. We’ve been anxiously awaiting any sign of life for the project, which was hit by the ongoing pandemic. After countless delays, the film will finally release in just a few months with the first official poster hitting the web around three days ago. The concept of these two titans facing each other has been in development since 2015, as the Monsterverse started to grow out of 2014’s successful reboot of the Western Godzilla franchise. It will serve as the culmination of Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of Monsters. Without further ado, here’s the first official trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong.

The trailer perfectly matches the rest of the franchise and I cannot wait to finally see it once it hits theaters and HBO Max in March. It almost makes Godzilla look like a villain that just randomly started attacking Kong and various cities. It is strange to see him dedicated as this, so they might be using this as a tease for a third enemy that is pushing Godzilla to go on a rampage. We even get glimpses of some unique monsters that will join the fray. Whatever is happening to the nuclear lizard may be connected to why they are bringing in Kong. He might be their weapon to stop Godzilla, who has gone insane after his fight with Ghidorah in King of the Monsters.

It does feel like a culmination for the franchise, as they are referred to as the last remaining monsters. Hopefully, the franchise will continue after this film and continue exploring the titan’s history on this version of Earth. We just recently heard rumblings of a potential spin-off that focuses on Monarch, the secret organization overseeing their activities. I have to say the trailer really sold me on the film and I cannot wait to see these two fight it out once it finally is released in March.

  • ‘Tales of Dunk and Egg’ And Many Other ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequels’ In Development

‘Tales of Dunk and Egg’ And Many Other ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequels’ In Development

Game of Thrones was one of the most popular television series of all time. It redefined our understanding of the fantasy genre after spanning eight seasons. Yet, when the show came to an end, many fans were left with a sour taste in their mouths. Even after the last season’s reception, HBO was not going to miss out on continuing building the franchise. At one point, a prequel had been in development with Naomi Watts. It would take place a thousand years before the story we’ve witnessed across eight seasons. Although the pilot got filmed, the project did not move forward. Instead, they started development on the HBO Max exclusive House of The Dragon. It will focus on the reign of the Targaryens, as they conquered Westeros.

Now, it seems there is one more member of the family getting his series, as a recent report confirms that a second prequel series is now in the works titled The Tales of Dunk and Egg

It will follow the adventures of Sir Duncan The Tall (Dunk) and Aegon Targaryen (Egg), whose story was told in the George R.R Martin novels The Hedge KnightThe Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight. It will take place 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The project currently has no talent attached, but it seems HBO is fast-tracking it.

According to Entertainment Weekly, this is just one of the many projects they are working on. It seems HBO has been meeting with many writers to get multiple series of the ground. Even RomeBruno Heller has been in talks at one point. One potential series may focus on Robert’s Rebellion, which started the original story. They also confirm that there are no plans for spin-offs or sequels. The focus remains on developing prequels that explore the history of Westeros and its many corners. It’s an interesting development, as even the previously mentioned Watt‘s prequel was among five in development at the time. For now, we can look forward to a lot more Game of Thrones in the future.

  • RUMOR: ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Spin-Off ‘Monarch’ In Development at HBO-Max

RUMOR: ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Spin-Off ‘Monarch’ In Development at HBO-Max

After numerous delays, we finally got the first official poster for Godzilla vs. Kong. It has been a long wait after many delays, but we will finally get the simultaneous release on HBO Max and in theaters in March. For a while, there was nothing but radio silence on the project. Every once in a while, the director, Adam Wingard, would tease developments on the project. Now, the big question on everyone’s mind was what the future would hold for the Monsterverse franchise.

According to FandomWire, HBO Max is planning a Monsterverse spin-off. It will focus on the covert organization Monarch, which got first introduced in 2014’s Godzilla. 2017’s Kong: Skull Island offered a more clear backstory on their purpose within this cinematic universe. They were researching the various monsters that once ruled the planet. They returned in 2019’s Godzilla: King of Monsters, explaining the history of Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah. The concept would make for a great series. It would allow Warner Bros. and Legendary to explore titans that wouldn’t get a film. There is also a chance they might tease future storylines for their films.

Godzilla vs. Kong will release in theaters on March 26th. It will be available on HBO Max for a limited time. Adam Wingard directed the film that features an all-star staff, which includes Eiza GonzalezMillie Bobby Brown, Brian Tyree HenryDanai GuriraKyle ChandlerAlexander Skarsgård. We will finally get the first official trailer for the film this Sunday, so we’ll finally get a good look at the clash of a century. The films have been building up to this moment, so we’ll see who will be the final titan standing.

  • First Official ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Poster Teases Upcoming Trailer

First Official ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Poster Teases Upcoming Trailer

Warner Bros. has been quite busy reshuffling their 2021 line-up. Ever since they announced the new strategy to release their films simultaneously in theaters and HBO Max, we’ve been anxiously waiting for any promotional material for the projects. Mortal Kombat most notably was supposed to air in January, but never got a trailer or even poster reveal. It got postponed and suddenly they’ve decided to release Godzilla vs. Kong in March. We had no trailer or any marketing for the film, so it was a curious decision. Luckily, it seems the wait isn’t going to last much longer, as Warner Bros. officially revealed a brand new poster alongside the caption that the first trailer will release Sunday.

Godzilla: King of Monsters had some of my favorite poster designs and it looks like the franchise is continuing that trend. We don’t need to see all of Godzilla to recognize the image presented before us. I love the way Kong’s red and Godzilla’s blue are clashing here. It’s these kinds of visual flourishes that really make these posters stand out. Warner Bros. also made the right decision to avoid the cliché of having both just stare at each other like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or Captain America: Civil War did with its poster design. There is some great attention to detail and the Monstersverse at play here. I am really excited for the trailer, as we finally get to see these two titans clash. The last time they faced off was back in 1962. We are around two months away until the film finally releases, so there will be plenty more posters heading our way in the near future.
