  • James Mangold’s ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Has Wrapped Production

James Mangold’s ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Has Wrapped Production

The production on the fifth entry of Indiana Jones has seemingly wrapped production, as producer Frank Marshall took to Twitter to share a picture of the production hat that includes the iconic nickname “Indy” with the announcement that they’ve finished work on the project. You can check out the tweet right here:

The last time we’ve heard from the production was back in October when set photos from Sicily found their way online. They offered our first look at Mads Mikkelsen, who is rumored to be playing the film’s primary antagonist. It’s still unclear who he might play or how the story builds upon the fourth entry, but it does seem like we are returning to the franchise with a strong focus on the character that made it so iconic, as James Mangold takes over directing duties from Steven Spielberg.

Harrison Ford, of course, is also returning in the picnic role, as he continues to keep ancient treasures out of the hands of the wrong people while battling with his age. There is no word that the film will carry over the storyline set up in the fourth entry, as Crystal Skull introduced his son, played by Shia LeBeouf. For now, it seems like the upcoming film might be a final send-off to the iconic character.

  • New ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Sicily Set Photos Offers First Look at Mads Mikkelsen

New ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Sicily Set Photos Offers First Look at Mads Mikkelsen

Lucasfilm has been quite busy developing its future Star Wars films. Yet, they are also continuing their work as a subsidiary of Disney to further explore other ventures, such as the next Indiana Jones project. We’ve had quite a few looks from the set in the past, but a set of new photos have found their way online. This time around, not only do we get a closer look at Harrison Ford wearing the iconic leather jacket, but also Mads Mikkelsen. The Daily Mail provided the brand new images from the set, as they are currently shooting in Sicily. They’ve resumed production after Ford hurt his shoulder on set.

Back in May, we got our first bit of details on Mikkelsen‘s role in the fifth film. His look doesn’t give away anything, but the Danish actor is supposedly playing a former Nazi scientist. He ended up working on the moon landing alongside NASA. He won’t be alone, as he’ll get joined by another female villain in the film. Scarlett Johansson was offered the role, but it’s uncertain who took over the task moving forward. It’s great to see the film resume production after a three-month break and that Ford is healthy. It’s eyeing a July release next year. So, they have enough time to end principal photography as they prepare the latest entry in the Indiana Jones franchise.

  • New ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Set Video Shows Harrison Ford in Action

New ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Set Video Shows Harrison Ford in Action

We’ve been anxiously following the fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise. It is the grand return of Harrison Ford in the iconic role. The cast has also been shaping up, as a week ago Antonio Banderas officially joined the production. Set photos even confirmed the appearance of Toby Jones in the film. Still, we’ve only gotten a few glimpses from the set and what we can expect from the upcoming sequel. Now, we got our first look at some action sequences from the upcoming film that features Ford trying to take down some henchmen, which got shared by TikTok user coreomega2.0. Video was privat3ed and reuploaded by @3CFilm.

The sequence sees him get the upper hand before one of the henchmen isn’t too impressed by the sign. It’s great to see an action sequence that shows the vulnerability of our main protagonist. Jones isn’t the youngest. So, he can’t just punch his way through every scenario as he used to. We see him think on his feet, as he just runs off.

Funny enough, this does feel very fitting for the Indiana Jones franchise. While he has taken out quite a few bad guys with his fists, he does end up using his head to get out of various situations. We might even get a tribute to the classic scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark, where he takes the logical route of just pulling out his gun instead of going through a long sword fight. Ford‘s age might restrict their approach to action sequences, which might inspire some creative approaches throughout the film’s run.

  • Antonio Banderas Joins “INDIANA JONES 5”

Antonio Banderas Joins “INDIANA JONES 5”

The cast of Indiana Jones 5 continues to impress. Deadline has revealed that Antonio Banderas has been added to the ranks of the upcoming adventure sequel. It is unknown who Banderas will be portraying, but he joins a cast that already includes the star power of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Reneé Wilson, and Harrison Ford returning as the iconic titular character. He barely requires any introduction, but for the uninitiated, Banderas is best known for his starring roles in the Zorro franchise, Robert Rodriguez’s Mexico Trilogy, Interview with the Vampire, and the Spy Kids films, among others. This will be the second action-adventure project to include Banderas in the next couple of years, as the actor also plays a role in Tom Holland’s Uncharted film adaptation.

Indiana Jones 5 is set to debut in July of 2022, with James Mangold taking over directing duties from franchise creator Steven Spielberg. The script for the installment comes from Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, and Mangold himself. Filming for the project is currently on hold, as Ford recovers from an injury sustained while performing an action scene. The new Jones film has been in various stages of production for over ten years, with Spielberg attempting to make a new movie on and off since 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Very little is known about the plot of the film, but rumors suggest it will take place during the 1960’s Space Race, and we should get more details sooner rather than later.

  • Latest ‘Indiana Jones 5′ Set Photos Confirm Toby Jones’ Involvement and a Familiar Threat

Latest ‘Indiana Jones 5′ Set Photos Confirm Toby Jones’ Involvement and a Familiar Threat

It looks like some more Indiana Jones 5 set photos and videos have found their way online that offer an even closer glimpse at what we can expect from the upcoming film. Almost a week ago, we saw a stunt double wear a creepy mask of Harrison Ford that confirmed we’ll get a flashback sequence of some kind. It seems that isn’t the only moment we’ll get a de-aged Ford, as the new set photos from the Daily Mail reveal that the actor has some dots on his face that may hint at them taking out a few of his wrinkles.

Now, that isn’t the only thing we see on set, as we also get the confirmation of another addition to the cast, Toby Jones. It is our first confirmation of his involvement and he joins Thomas Kretschman, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Mads Mikkelsen.

The cast already looks very promising as Steven Spielberg hands over the director’s chair to Logan‘s James Mangold. Now, there is one more reveal that may offer some weight to a recent report that Mikkelsen is playing a former Nazi scientist, as the set also includes the infamous swastika on various vehicles.

It seems the recent report might have some credence to it and the fifth entry will explore Indiana Jones continued confrontation with them. It’ll be interesting to see how it all comes together and if this film might also open up the franchise for a new hero to take on Jones’ ongoing battle to preserve history. It does seem likely that this might be the final entry for Ford, who is nearing 80. Of course, he may always surprise us and get ready for a sixth film, but there’s a lot of interest in what Indiana Jones 5 might bring to the table.

‘Indiana Jones 5’ Set to Begin Production Next Week in The UK

The next installment in the Indiana Jones franchise is set to release on July 29th, 2022, and has assembled a fantastic cast to star alongside Harrison Ford as he returns to play the famous archeologist for the first time since Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull over a decade ago. The film has been rumored to begin production sometime this summer as previous casting reports indicate, and it seems like that is just the case.

Indiana Jones 5 Set Photos Make Harrison Ford's Return Feel So Real - CINEMABLEND

It is being reported by Deadline that the next Indiana Jones film is set to begin filming next week at Pinewood Studios, located in the UK. While details on the story remain under wraps, Deadline mentions that the film will be set in the 1960s and reportedly revolves around the space race while also being rumored to film at Bamburgh castle at some point. It’s unclear whether or not this will be Ford’s last adventure as the titular explorer, but it would be interesting to see the film serve as a sort of apssing of the torch for Jones as a new adventurer would follow in his footsteps.

James Mangold is writing and directing the project, making it the first Indiana Jones film not directed by Steven Spielberg. Spielberg, however, remains on the project as a producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel. Starring alongside Harrison Ford will be Madds Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Thomas Kretschmann.

  • REPORT: First Details for Mads Mikkelsen’s Villainous Role in ‘INDIANA JONES 5’

REPORT: First Details for Mads Mikkelsen’s Villainous Role in ‘INDIANA JONES 5’

We may finally have our first solid details on James Mangold’s Indiana Jones 5. According to a new article from The Illuminerdi, Mads Mikkelsen will be portraying the film’s main antagonist. The Danish actor, known for his villainous roles, will reportedly play a former Nazi scientist enlisted by NASA to work on their moon landing initiative. Mikkelsen’s CIA handler, tasked with being his “babysitter”, will supposedly be played by Shaunette Renee Wilson. The Illuminerdi went further, reporting that the fifth Indiana Jones will also include a female villain working side by side with Mikkelsen, described by the outlet as “an evil and brutal killer”. Scarlett Johansson was offered the role but passed.

If this information is true, it would place the events of the movie smack dab in the middle of the United States’ famed “space race” with Russia. That would mean Indiana Jones 5 is set in the late 1960s, around a decade after the end of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It also means the franchise could be leaning further into the science-fiction elements introduced by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas in the franchise’s last installment.

Indiana Jones 5 has been in various stages of production for over ten years, with Mangold being selected by Spielberg to take the reins just last year. The director will create the film based on a script by Solo scribe Jonathan Kasdan. The star-studded cast also includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Kretschmann, and, of course, Harrison Ford reprising his iconic title character.

‘Indiana Jones 5’ Adds Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renée Wilson

The highly anticipated fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise is currently in development and is currently rounding out its cast. Many new faces are set to join Harrison Ford in what would be his first appearance as the character since 2008’s Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull. Plot details for the upcoming film are still under wraps for the first film in the series to not be directed by Steven Spielberg, as the honor of the role will go to James Mangold, best known for his work on Logan and Ford vs Ferrari.

It’s now being reported that Indiana Jones 5 has added Boyd Holbrook, best known for his work in Narcos and Logan, and Shaunette Renée Wilson, known for her work on The Resident and in Black Panther, to its ever-expanding line of talent. This news comes following the announcement that German actor and star of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thomas Kretschmann had joined the project in an unknown role. The roles for Holbrook and Renée are both under wraps as well while  Mangold still meets with talent for the upcoming project before getting behind the camera sometime this summer.

Indiana Jones is currently set to be released on July 29th, 2022. The cast of the upcoming film also includes Madds Mikkelsen and Phoebe Waller-Bridge in undisclosed roles alongside Ford’s iconic explorer.
