‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Funkos Leak Early With Some New Faces

It looks like the Funko Pops for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness have leaked early featuring most of the cast that we’ve already seen in the trailers and teased throughout. We’ve been expecting an official announcement today, but it seems like they accidentally leaked early. popnewws_ shared the various photos that were posted on the site The Mighty Shop.

Yet, others have also found their way online featuring some new characters like Supreme Strange, who doesn’t have a resemblance to the Defender version of the evil version we saw. What sticks out is that this is the first version of Strange that doesn’t have his signature goatee. Perhaps he’s an earlier version of one of the Strange that would get affected by some changes. Or, he’s the version that joins the Illuminati that was teased in the latest trailer. There’s also a new character named Sara included, who might be Sara Wolfe.

There are definitely some more Funko Pops that won’t release after the film had a few weeks in theaters. Even now, we’re only just getting a Funko Pop for Matt Murdock, which will even include the brick he caught during his cameo in the film. The fact that the Supreme version is included has us scratching our head though given that the character was never even teased, the same going for Sara. Perhaps an upcoming teaser trailer will include them or they are purposefully here to make you question who and what role they might have. For now, it’s all we can really do.

  • ‘Moon Knight’ Head Writer On Marc Spector’s Avenging Future

‘Moon Knight’ Head Writer On Marc Spector’s Avenging Future

Moon Knight, Marvel Studios’ next installment, is headed to Disney+ in just under a month. With the series’ March 30th release date on the horizon, Marvel is ramping up its promotion for the lesser-known superhero. While Moon Knight is a name even Marvel fans may be unfamiliar with, it looks like caped vigilante could be set to stick around the MCU in a significant way.

Moon Knight head writer Jeremy Slater told Total Film that he does not know Marvel Studios’ long-term plan for the character. When asked if Moon Knight was gearing up to enter the wider MCU, Slater stated:

The honest answer is I don’t know…Because Kevin [Feige] is the guy who decides all that stuff. Look, if it was up to me, he would be part of the Avengers. It’s absolutely not up to me, but I think that is the goal!

    Jeremy Slater

While it is no surprise that Moon Knight’s MCU future is a secret, it is telling that Slater believes that goal is for the character to break out of his solo outing into a larger team-up or crossover role in the future. Of course, Marvel Studios characters tend to end up as members of the Avengers or other teams. But Phase 4 is introducing new characters at a speed and quantity that is unprecedented even for Marvel Studios, so it is easy to wonder if some characters will be handled differently than fans have been used to.

Before any potential Avengers team-up, Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight will star in his solo series, which promises to be a unique entry in the MCU. The first episode of the series will hit Disney+ on March 30.

  • ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel Moving Forward, Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder Returning

‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel Moving Forward, Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder Returning

Back in 1988, Tim Burton made waves with his film Beetlejuice. It featured Michael Keaton in the titular role as the ghoul guide of the dead. The film saw Beetlejuice assist a newly deceased couple haunting what was once their home as a new family moves in. For a while, there have been conflicting reports if a sequel to the hit film would become a reality, and it seems none other than Brad Pitt is the one to make it a reality.

It’s being reported that Brad Pitt will produce Beetlejuice 2 through his production company Plan B and that they hope to have cameras rolling on the project by this summer. Its also been confirmed that the film will indeed feature the return of Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, who will be reprising their respective roles.

There is no word on if Tim Burton will join them to direct the project. There have been multiple attempts at a sequel to the film with Jonathan Gems hired to write a screenplay back in 1990, but nothing came of the project as Keaton and Burton had moved their focus to Batman Returns. In 2011, another attempt was made with Seth Grahame-Smith set to pen a script for a sequel, and then again in 2017 Mike Vukadinovich was hired to rewrite Smith‘s script but was later confirmed in 2019 by a Warner Bros. spokesperson that the sequel was not in active development.

  • Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon’ Adds Rupert Friend and Stuart Martin

Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon’ Adds Rupert Friend and Stuart Martin

Zack Snyder continues his work to expand his tenure at Netflix with a new space opera film titled Rebel Moon. What originally started a Star Wars pitch, is going to become a unique storyline that takes inspiration from classic Samurai films to offer us a story that may be unlike those that came before it. The film has already garnered an impressive cast but has now added two more in the form of Anatomy of a Scandal‘s Rupert Friend and Stuart Martin of Army of Thieves fame.

It is worth highlighting that Friend is set to play a lead bad guy in the upcoming film. There are still no details on what role exactly he might be tackling, but we still know very little about the project outside of a rough draft of its core storyline. It’ll be fun to see Snyder attempt a space storyline, as he’s always been in his best element in a storyline that allows for him to unleash his full creativity. Plus, it seems that Netflix is very open to letting him have free reign on his projects, which certainly helps his approach. We just recently got some artwork teasing the project and we’re still a few months away from it actually releasing, but it’s cast and the concept do sound promising for those looking forward to a new space-centric storyline to push the genre forward.

  • Patrick Stewart Confirms ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Super Bowl Trailer Appearance

Patrick Stewart Confirms ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Super Bowl Trailer Appearance

It’s been pretty obvious that Patrick Stewart‘s short voice cameo in the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Super Bowl trailer may have broken the Internet. He was long rumored to appear, and Marvel Studios knew exactly how to embrace it to get people even more riled up for the project. At first, the actor denied that being his voice but in an interview with Jake’s Takes he finally confirmed that the voice and earlobe we see during the trailer belong to him.

actually didn’t recognize my own voice, it sounded different. Whether I had a cold or something at the time, I don’t know. But I was astonished, and all they saw was the back of my shoulder, and I think my earlobe, nothing else. There would have been so many connections made. But, uh, it pleased me.

    Patrick Stewart

I think many of us have automatically made the connection that it was him when we first heard the voice, especially how iconic Stewart‘s portrayal has been of Professor X throughout the X-Men films. But, it makes sense that he might not have even recognized his own voice given that we hear ourselves quite a bit different than others do. Who knows if the voice clip played is even in the final film, but there’s no doubt now that he’ll indeed make his appearance at some point throughout Strange’s travel through the multiverse of madness.

  • First ‘The Batman’ Reviews Are Overwhelmingly Positive

First ‘The Batman’ Reviews Are Overwhelmingly Positive

The Batman reviews have finally arrived as the Warner Bros. embargo lifts. It looks like it left quite an impression with critics and viewers, who highlight that it might be the most definite take on the character. Some have pointed out that the length is working against it a bit, but it’s a Batman story that takes a lot of inspiration from its comic roots while offering something even more grounded than The Dark Knight. There’s also a lot of praise going to the film’s score, which adds to the darker take on Gotham and its protector.

  • Andrew Garfield Has “No Plans” for More Spider-Man

Andrew Garfield Has “No Plans” for More Spider-Man

The road to Andrew Garfield’s return as Spider-Man: No Way Home was filled with denials and dissembling as the actor tried to keep a lid on things even as more and more evidence emerged that he would suit up again. While all is certainly forgiven by fans following the film, Garfield’s performance has led to a non insignificant push on social media to see a more extended return to the character.

Garfield has recently made it clear that he’s open to returning as the older, angrier Spider-Man down the road and his performance in No Way Home was powerful enough to leave fans asking a lot of questions that could be explored under the right circumstances, as Garfield explained previously:

I mean, yes, definitely open to something if it felt right. Peter and Spider-Man, those characters are all about service, to the greater good and the many. He’s a working-class boy from Queens that knows struggle and loss and is deeply empathetic. I would try to borrow Peter Parker’s ethical framework in that, if there was an opportunity to step back in and tell more of that story, I would have to feel very sure and certain in myself.

Being open to returning and actually returning are, of course, very different things and not entirely dependent on Garfield’s wishes. To that end, fans may be a bit bummed to find out that, at the moment, it doesn’t seem like another appearance by Garfield as Spidey is imminent. At last night’s SAG Awards, Garfield was asked by a Variety reporter if he would be doing Spider-Man again and a very self-aware Garfield delivered the news that he has “no plans” to return to the role.

As fans, it’s become entirely impossible to believe anything any actor associated with a Marvel project has to say. Garfield could be telling the truth and not actually know what’s next. Garfield could have already filmed something for a future appearance. Garfield could be lying, which he knows is the default belief of fandom now. Whatever the case, there’s certainly room for more stories to be told about Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man that would definitely deviate from the path Tom Holland’s MCU Spidey has set, so fingers crossed it’s another lie and we’ll see him swinging back into action in the not-too-distant future.

  • Leaked ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ LEGO Set Leaked Featuring Gorr and Mysterious Creature

Leaked ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ LEGO Set Leaked Featuring Gorr and Mysterious Creature

You never know when some things just find their way online faster than others. Instagram user the.brick.wolf has shared a brand new LEGO set for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film, which includes the two Thors fighting Gorr and a mysterious monster. The title seems to be “Attack on New Asgard” but no word on what exactly the strange creature is in the background with bat wings for ears and crab-like craws. You can see it here:

It’s interesting how a random LEGO set, which hasn’t been announced yet has found its way to the Istanbul Airport. Keep in mind, LEGO sets don’t always reflect what happens in the films – most famously is the Iron Man 3 misdirect – but it’s a curious addition and continues to highlight that New Asgard might be at the center of the final battle.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the film which is eyeing a release in July, but that’s a good thing. Somehow Taika Waititi was able to keep quite a few interesting details under wraps and we’ll see what surprises they might have in store for us. The Guardians are interestingly absent from any marketing, which makes you wonder how much they’ll be featured in the story. For now, we can only see what heads our way.

  • RUMOR: ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Matt Murdock Getting a New Funko

RUMOR: ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Matt Murdock Getting a New Funko

Here’s some fun news for Funko collectors and fans of Spider-Man: No Way Home, as there may be a new addition heading our way in the near future. @funkomarvelnews has shared a listing from an upcoming Pop! Vinyl figure that would feature Charlie Cox‘s Matt Murdock. That’s not the only thing, as it’ll even pay homage to the iconic scene of his return, as he’ll also have the brick with him that he caught before it could hit Peter.

It was only a question of time once the spoiler characters would get their own Funko Pops – even if there’s still a strange absence of villain-focused Funko’s from Sony. The other two Spider-Men are likely the next in line to get their own additions, but we haven’t heard anything concrete on them as of now. So, we can only see if another listing finds it way online that hints at their arrival.

Matt Murdock was still one of the best surprises in an already EAster egg-filled film. We don’t know yet where exactly he’ll show up next – She-Hulk is still the likeliest of candidates – but his return does bode well for more of the Netflix characters arriving in the mainline MCU. Here’s hoping we find out soon with some teases, especially as these shows make their way to Disney+.

  • RUMOR: Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool May Be in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MAdness’ After All

RUMOR: Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool May Be in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MAdness’ After All

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been a wild ride for many, as speculation after speculation started hitting the web on who may appear in the film. If you have “multiverse” in the title, you expect t a lot of cameos and shenanigans to unfold. Especially when even the poster teases potential apperances such as what looked like Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds quickly denied any connection but a new rumor may further add to his potential appearance.

Our friends over at DisInsider published their latest The DisInsider Show episode, where Derek Cornell made comparisons between his recent denial and those made by Andrew Garfield throughout the build-up to Spider-Man: No Way Home. Even Patrick Stewart denied his involvement shortly after the trailer included his voice during the Super Bowl.

Well, Ryan Reynolds is pulling an Andrew Garfield right now, so we’ll see.

    Derek Cornell

Editor-in-Chief Skyler Schuler was a bit more straightforward by straight-out stating that Reynolds is definitely in the film as the iconic character.

Deadpool’s in it. I wouldn’t say it’s a rumor of the week, but I have it on good authority that Ryan Reynolds is in Doctor Strange.

    Skyler Schuler

The poster inclusion still seems to add to the likelihood of his appearance and actors have denied appearances in the past due to their NDAs. We might not get official confirmation until the film officially releases, but his eventual appearance, especially with an MCU-based Deadpool 3 on the horizon, would make a lot of sense as a gateway into the Sacred Timeline. So, hopefully we’ll get to see him in action again once the film releases in May.
