    Rumors Suggest the Russos Brothers May Have Cleverly Sown Chaos into the Mix in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

    Slowly but surely, fans are starting to believe that Avengers: Doomsday might not be so bad after all. Teaser trailers featuring Steve Rogers, Thor, Magneto, Charles Xavier and Cyclops have all generated significant buzz and it sounds as though the studio plans on keeping the momentum going with additional teasers yet to come.

    The marketing for the film has cleverly appealed to multiple different demographics but there’s one large sect of the fandom that hasn’t had reason to be excited just yet. However, a new rumor may be about to change that and get the Wandas back in the game.

    John “The Outlaw” Rocha shared an update on an old rumor about Avengers: Doomsday featuring multiple Doctors Doom. According to Rocha’s source, “Doom has a female sidekick [who] also has a mask. This person thinks it is a female Doom. You’ll get a male and female Doom team.”

    A “female Doom” is interesting enough on its own but it’s also not something that would seem to serve the story well when there are so many other options available to the Russo brothers that would.

    As Rocha’s news makes its way around the usual spots, social media scoopers and leakers and bullshitters have begun chiming in about the true identity of Doom’s masked “sidekick.” While some have suggested it’ll be Lucia Von Bardas–Latveria’s Prime Minister in the comics–her inclusion wouldn’t really move the needle for fans. However, another rumor about who is behind the mask that seems to be gaining traction would indeed move the needle, perhaps to 11: Wanda Maximoff.

    Though Elizabeth Olsen has denied her involvement with the project, Marvel Studios One Above All, Kevin Feige, previously made it clear that there Marvel would always bring her back for more and that there is “so much more to explore” with the Scarlet Witch. Adding her to the mix in Avengers: Doomsday as the mysterious masked counterpart of Doom might just be the best option as it would not only tie up several threads left hanging over the course of the Multiverse Saga but allow for an adaptation of a comic project that has long been rumored to be on Marvel Studios radar.

    Prior to Bob Iger’s return to Disney, Olsen was rumored to be at the center of a pair of projects: an adaptation of Alan Heinberg’s limited series, Avengers: The Children’s Crusade, and a Scarlet Witch solo film.

    On the surface, adapting The Children’s Crusade provides the perfect opportunity to continue the story of Wanda Maximoff in the MCU. Following her multi-year arc as a villain which concluded in House of M, Wanda Maximoff lived powerlessly and without her memories for years. It wasn’t until her son, Billy Maximoff, aka Wiccan, began to lose control of his own immense powers that a search began for her in earnest.

    While it’s hardly the same sequence of events, Wanda’s heel-turn as the Scarlet Witch over the course of WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and her apparent death in the final act of the latter provide the opportunity for a similar story to be told within the shared tapestry of the MCU,. especially once Billy and Tommy are reunited, presumably by the conclusion of Marvel Television’s upcoming D+ streaming series VisionQuest.

    Revealing the “female Doom” an amnesiac Wanda would retcon Doctor Doom’s presence in the MCU back to the conclusion of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, provide a reason for the Young Avengers/Champions to become involved in the plot(s) of Avengers: Doomsday and/or Avengers: Secret Wars and get one Marvel’s most talented stars involved in the two biggest projects of the decade. Obviously it’s nothing more than a barely-sourced rumor (and likely just a guess) at this point but it makes more sense than any other option in terms of the story-telling possibilities it opens up.

    Though she hasn’t appeared since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda Maximoff continues to impact the events of the MCU’s ongoing shared narrative. Agatha All Along revealed that her son, Billy, was alive and well ..sort of…and 2026’s VisionQuest will see the return of his twin, Tommy. Still, fans are hungry for more of Elizabeth Olsen‘s Scarlet Witch, whose apparent death even Kevin Feige has called into question.

    There really is so much more to explore. We still haven’t touched on many of her core storylines from the comics. I don’t know that we saw her under rubble? I saw a tower coming down, and a little red flash. I don’t know what that means.

    For her part, Olsen has always remained open to returning to the role and seems to have something particular in mind should she do so. Now, in a new interview with InStyle, Olsen details why she will always be open to returning as Wanda.

    “Making the films are fun. Goofy. It’s ridiculous. We’re grown people like children on a playground,” said Olsen of the experience of making MCU films. “We’re flying. We’re shooting things out of our hands. And it’s a character that I’ve gotten to return to so many times after over 10 years. It’s good to put her down and then I miss  her and I want her back. I’d jump at the opportunity to be in her shoes again.”

    “It’s the consistency of a community and a job, which is hard to find. The insane camera movement, stunt work and special effects, visual effects that are happening in real time,” Olsen explained. “It’s a lot of coordination, it’s hundreds and hundreds of people on set, and it’s a powerful thing to be a part of all those people working towards one goal. The people doing the visual effects are artists… The soul, the spirit, the heart is fulfilled doing it. It does mean something. I care about the acting being great — everyone does.”

    Rumors of a Scarlet Witch solo project circulated for years. When given the opportunity to shoot them down, WandaVision and Agatha All Along creator Jac Schaeffer chose not to, fueling the fire of legions of social media Wandas. While Olsen remains mum on WHEN she will return, it continues to sound as though she most definitely WILL.

    Kevin Feige Provides Updates on the Futures of Several Major Marvel Characters

    Marvel Studios had a fairly large presence at Disney’s D23 Expo in Brazil which ran from November 8th through November 10th. While no new projects were announced, footage was shown from upcoming projects from all the studios under the Marvel umbrella. Marvel Studios showcased its 2025 film slate with Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps; Marvel Television shared a look at next March’s Daredevil: Born Again; Marvel Animation unveiled the first trailer for Season 3 of What If…?, which debuts on December 22nd, and gave the fans a look at Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which hits D+ on January 29th, 2025.

    Despite not breaking any news on the stage, Marvel Studios One Above All, Kevin Feige, did have plenty to say to the Brazilian outlet Omelete about the potential futures of several big-time MCU players.

    Blade

    “We are committed to Blade,” said the Feigster. “We love the character. We love Mahershala’s take on him. And rest assured: whenever we change direction with a project, or are still figuring out how it fits into our schedule, we let the audience know. You’re all up to date on what’s happening. But I can tell you that the character will indeed make it to the MCU.”

    Parsing words a bit, it does seem interesting that Feige chose to say that “the character would indeed make it to the MCU” rather than the film. It may ultimately be nitpicking but it is worth noting and tracking as things continue to develop.

    Deadpool and Wolverine

    After finishing up an incredible run in theaters, Deadpool & Wolverine is now available digitally and, as of November 12th, is streaming on Disney Plus where it’s sure to generate another round of hype. According to Feige, fans can probably expect to see more of the odd couple. “The plans with Deadpool and Wolverine will always be the same,” teased Feige. “We’re always wondering where we can fit them in, and how quickly.” With rumors that both characters will have roles in the studio’s 2027 Multiverse Saga finale, Avengers: Secret Wars, it may not be too long before the deadly duo suits up again.

    Scarlet Witch

    Despite apparently sacrificing herself to destroy the Darkhold in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda Maximoff’s future in the MCU has never really been up for debate. In late 2022, Feige made it clear that the studio had plans for the character and recently those plans have started to take shape with WandaVision and Agatha All Along creator Jac Schaeffer rumored to be developing a solo Scarlet Witch project. Even star Elizabeth Olsen has recently teased a very specific direction in which she’d like to see the character’s story move, leaving little room for doubt that Wanda will indeed be back in the MCU.

    And now, whatever room remained to harbor doubt was wiped out by Feige in Brazil.”We had Agatha All Along on Disney+ just now, and that series was great for us. Since then, there have been a lot of questions about Wanda in fans’ minds,” said Feige. “So all I can say is that we’re excited to find out when and how Scarlet Witch can come back.” New rumors suggest the character will play a large role in Avengers: Doomsday; if those rumors are true, we’ll likely find out soon as the film is expected to go before cameras in early 2025.

    X-Men

    Fans have been eagerly awaiting Marvel Studios’ take on the X-Men since the live-action rights to the characters were acquired as part of Disney’s 2019 merger with Fox. And while some mutants have been sprinkled into other projects over the past few years, the studio does have much larger plans for the X-Men, including a film being written by Michael Lesslie. While there was some hope it might end up in the Multiverse Saga, Feige put all that talk to bed in Brazil.

    “When we were preparing for Avengers: Endgame years ago, it was a matter of getting to the grand finale of our narrative, and then we had to start all over again after that,” Feige explained. “This time, on the road to Secret Wars, we already know very well what’s going to happen. be the story until then and beyond. The X-Men are an important part of that future.” With a script already in the works, it’s very possible that Phase 7 of the MCU (if Phases are even a thing anymore) could lead off with Marvel Studios X-Men.

    Eternals

    Perhaps in part because of the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel Studios made the choice to develop a film around the Eternals, an obscure group of characters created by Jack Kirby in the 1970s. However, rather than lean into what Kirby intended the characters to be, the studio stripped them of everything their creator built into them that was of interest. The result was a film that was poorly received critically despite having one of the MCU’s most impressive ensemble casts.

    Before it flopped in theaters, there seemed to be big plans for the characters introduced in Eternals. That no longer seems to be the case with Feige already saying “there are no immediate plans for Eternals 2” earlier this year and now indicating that whole the studio remains “very proud of that movie” adding that cast was incredible” while giving no indication that’s something he’s actually attempting to do.“We’d be lucky to get any of them back at some point,” he closed, which would be a strange thing to say if he were planning on using the characters.

    Inhumans

    Originally in development as a film for a 2019 release, Marvel’s Inhumans was pulled from the slate in 2016. From there, the property moved to Marvel TV and ultimately turned into one of the most ridiculously embarrassing projects the company ever produced.

    Though Anson Mount‘s Black Bolt did appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it’s never really seemed as though Feige had large-scale plans for the Inhumans within the confines of the MCU. And if his response to a question about the characters is any indication, he still doesn’t have any. “We’ll see where, if, and when, they return,” replies Feige to an inquiry about their MCU future. At least we’ll always have that great moment where one of Marvel’s most disciplined heroes accidentally killed himself!

    Though she only briefly appeared in Agatha All Along as a dead body, Wanda Maximoff played a major role in the recently wrapped MCU streaming series. Despite sacrificing herself to destroy the Darkhold in the third act of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Kevin Feige made it very clear that there was plenty of room in the MCU’s future for more stories about Wanda.

    Undoubtedly, part of the allure of continuing Wanda’s tale is that it would allow Marvel Studios to continue to work with one of its most talented actresses in Elizabeth Olsen. Feige has taken every opportunity to praise Olsen , calling her “incredibly humble and incredibly down-to-earth” while also stating that she is “a force of nature” when “those cameras roll.” In 2022, Feige claimed that he’d “work with Lizzie for another 100 years”, teasing a possible loophole to her apparent death by saying “anything’s possible in the multiverse!” 

    AsMarvel Studios Multiverse Saga has evolved, Feige’s comments have proven more true than he probably intended. Robert Downey Jr. is now set to be th MCU’s Doctor Doom, Hugh Jackman will reportedly stay on as Wolverine for the time being and Wanda’s children, who disappeared with the undoing of her hex, are now both alive and (sort of) well…and that last point really makes it seem as though Wanda cannot be far behind.

    While rumors of a Scarlet Witch solo project written by WandaVision and Agatha All Along creator Jac Schaeffer continue to be bandied about, Schaeffer claims to be in the dark on the future of the character. When asked about the possibility during September’s Agatha All Along launch event, Schaeffer said, “I don’t know! I’m in witchy Agatha land right now and I can’t quite see through the trees, but we’re hoping.” However, when asked if it was possible that the collapse of Mount Wundagore could have been the end of the Scarlet Witch but not necessarily Wanda,  Schaeffer’s comments were a little more telling. “I am keeping such a good poker face,” remarked the writer. “What I will say is like, I really like how your mind works. That’s my response to that theory.“

    I mean I’m just here hoping for a Scarlet Witch movie. We all want Wanda, so fingers crossed that’s a thing that happens.

    More recently, Schaeffer offered a little more insight into Wanda’s possible future, indicating that the decision was made to explain in Agatha All Along that Wanda was not dead but simply “gone.” And that brings it right back to where Feige left things: anything is possible. And Olsen just teased one such possibility.

    In a recent appearance at a fan convention, Olsen was asked if there was one specific Marvel Comics story she’d like to see adapted for her return to the MCU. And while she didn’t refer to any particular story, she seemed to give away plenty.

    “Well, honestly, if I were to tell you exactly what I would want I think I would maybe be spoiling something,” said Olsen. “Kevin Feige genuinely asks us what we want to do with the character and then he does it [Laughs] so I don’t know if I can share…I just want to come back.”

    As for what the mystery arc might be, rumors have often cited Disney’s interest in adapting Young Avengers: The Children’s Crusade for an MCU project and that possibility has never seemed more realistic than it does now. With Tommy now back among the living, Billy on the hunt for him without control of his powers and the studio reveling in the success of a second streaming series set in the witchy corner of the MCU, a Maximoff family reunion seems like exactly the right move.

    Much like her comic book counterpart, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Scarlet Witch story arc has become controversial as it unfolded. Similar to what’s happened to the character in the pages of Marvel Comics, Elizabeth Olsen‘s Wanda Maximoff has been villain and hero and villain again but her heel turn in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness left a bad taste in the mouths of many. Despite making a heroic sacrifice in the final act of the Strange sequel that seemed to seal her fate, rumors have swirled for the past couple of years that there was more in store for Wanda. Indeed, even Marvel Studios One Above All, Kevin Feige, teased further adventures for the character down the road; however, as the studio enters the homestretch of the Multiverse Saga, there’s been no official word on what’s next for Wanda.

    Part of the appeal of telling more stories about the character is, of course, the talented actress who brings her to life. Feige has described Olsen as “incredibly humble and incredibly down-to-earth” while adding that once the cameras roll, she becomes “a force of nature.” And so while things didn’t look great for Wanda as Mount Wundagore collapsed around her, Feige’s willingness to “work with Lizzie for another 100 years” means that, as he said, “anything’s possible in the multiverse!” and a recent report seems to indicate that one possibility might be starting to take shape amid the chaos.

    According to Production Weekly, WandaVision and Agatha All Along creator Jac Schaeffer and The Marvels writer Megan McDonnell have begun work on a script for a solo Scarlet Witch film. Coincidentally, with that report still fresh in the minds of reporters, Schaeffer was on the purple carpet last night at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theater for Disney’s Agatha All Along launch event where she handled some questions about the potential project.

    As you’ve grown to expect, Schaeffer wasn’t revealing much when asked when she would start shooting the Scarlet Witch solo flick but she didn’t say it wasn’t happening, either. “I mean I’m just here hoping for a Scarlet Witch movie,” Schaeffer told Variety. We all want Wanda, so fingers crossed that’s a thing that happens.” When pressed further about whether or not she thought it would happen, Schaeffer replied, “I don’t know! I’m in witchy Agatha land right now and I can’t quite see through the trees, but we’re hoping.” And while none of that sounds to encouraging, Schaeffer’s final comment might provide a glimmer of hope that Wanda will be back to lead her own film. In response to Variety’s reporter commenting that Disney won’t let her talk to the press about it, Schaeffer slyly replied, “Not right now…” which coupled with her body language will likely be enough to give fans hope.

    While fans wait for official word on the Scarlet Witch project to come down to Witches’ Road, there are plenty of compelling reasons to think it is in the works. After having launched work on a second WandaVision spinoff, Vision Quest, Schaeffer recently left the project, turning it over to Star Trek: Picard Season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas, leaving Schaeffer with some freedom in her schedule. Additionally, Schaeffer’s rumored co-writer, Megan McDonnell, who worked with her as a producer on Agatha All Along and, at the moment, seems similarly free at the moment. And, of course, the biggest piece in the puzzle, star Elizabeth Olsen, has always maintained that she’d love to return to the role as long as there’s a “good story to tell.” Schaeffer’s track record would suggest she’ up for that task so while it’s best to refrain from being too excited at the moment, it’s also possible that a Scarlet Witch film is more possible now than it ever has been.

    Chaos! Marvel Studios Reportedly Shuffling Its Theatrical Slate to Make Room for Major New Project

    Outside of a pair of Avengers films set to be helmed by the Anthony and Joe Russo, MCU fans have no information on what films to expect in 2026 and beyond. With Blade in limbo as it searches for a director, a sequel to 2021’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings now pushed back with Destin Daniel Cretton taking on Spider-Man 4 and Armor Wars seemingly no longer a sure thing, the post-2025 path to the end of the Multiverse Saga is being almost entirely reshaped…and there’s only one entity in the MCU powerful enough to do such a thing.

    Marvel Studios used the 2024 summer convention season to highlight its 2025 slates of theatrical and streaming projects. Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps should combine to carry the studio to a very strong box office run next year; however, even with Avengers: Doomsday sure to be a billion dollar blockbuster, the studio’s 2026 slate is otherwise barren, with two as-yet-untitled films scheduled for February 13 and Novemer 6th (and yes, Spider-Man 4 will likely arrive in 2026 but not one one of those dates). With 2025 just around the corner and production dates needing to be set in order to assemble a cast, the studio has to get in gear, especially if it hopes to have a film ready for February 13, 2026…and according to a new report, things might be in motion for one long-anticipated project.

    According to Production Weekly (not a rock solid source by any means), Marvel Studios will fill one of those open 2026 dates with a Scarlet Witch solo film starring Elizabeth Olsen. PW reports that WandaVision and Agatha All Along architect Jac Schaeffer and The Marvels scribe Megan McDonnell have teamed up on the script for the untitled feature.

    Buzz about a possible Scarlet Witch solo project is hardly new. Once upon a time, it seemed as though the project was intended to get underway in 2023; however, as with so many of Marvel Studios Multiverse Saga plans, it seems to be taking a more circuitous route to the screen. Following Wanda’s heel turn in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, both Olsen and Marvel Studios Big Cheese, Kevin Feige, made it clear that there were more stories to tell about the Scarlet Witch with Olsen stating that “if they have a good story to tell [in a Scarlet Witch solo movie], I’ll be there.” Perhaps Schaeffer and McDonnell, who also worked on WandaVision, found that good story now.

    Though neither the studio nor the Hollywood trades have shared any news about a potential Scarlet Witch film, there might just be some circumstantial evidence to support its existence. After working on Agatha All Along, Schaeffer was dialed in on creating the studio’s Vision Quest series but left the project recently, turning over its development to Star Trek: Picard‘s Season 3 showrunner, Terry Matalas. One might wonder what would take Schaeffer–who created the Wanda/Vision corner of the MCU–away from another series that was her brain child and continued a story she began…and that answer may well be the long-awaited Scarlet Witch solo movie.

    There were several revelations from the 2022 CCXP Disney Panel in Brazil on Thursday. Marvel Studios unveiled both the first trailer and synopsis for the awaited Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The trailer offered us our first look at several new players, including Lylla. Here’s who we theorieze might die in the movie. See the full trailer below:

    In non-Marvel news from CCXP, the title for the fifth Indiana Jones movie was revealed—Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny—and Season 3 of The Mandalorian got an official release date of March 1, 2022. Separately, Marvel Studios debuted new trailers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Loki at APAC Showcase 2022. 

    However, a new rumor seems to shake up what we thought we know about a potential Scarlet Witch solo project. Apparently, such a spinoff may not be happening at all. But there is good news for Marvel fans wishing to see more of underutilized-in-the-Marvel Cinematic Universe characters. Past Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel Studios has plenty more of the character in mind in the MCU’s future, which is suggested by some information on some actors’ contracts.

    This week, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige teased more mutants in the MCU’s near future. During the Q&A after the CCXP event showcasing Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked on if we can expect more mutants in the near future and he definitely seemed optimistic: “No, look, we’ve already met a few. There’s a new Mutant named Namor that you might’ve met recently. So, more to come.” 

    Of course, the head of the production company is not going to give away what we can expect. We do know that Deadpool 3 will give Hugh Jackman one more chance to play Wolverine; hopefully finally wearing his iconic outfit. And, there are many opportunities to slowly introduce various versions of these characters throughout upcoming projects. Now, we just have to wait and see if the X-Men will get their time int he spotlight or if they even existed throughout MCU’s history to begin with.

    Of course, rumors keep swirling about whether Tom Holland has officially signed on to play more Spider-Man in the MCU. A new rumor this week suggests Holland’s return could be as early as 2024. We took a look at how that release date could impact Marvel Studios’ current 2024 theatrical slate. On an unrelated “Spider-Man 4” note, this week fans got a new look at the Vulture wings that never made it to Sam Raimi’s fourth Spider-Man film.

    RUMOR: Marvel Studios Long-Rumored ‘Scarlet Witch’ Spinoff Not Happening After All

    There have been rumors after rumors on Wanda Maximoff getting her own project at some point. WandaVision was Marvel Studios’ first venture into Disney+ and has seemingly spawned two spinoffs with Agatha: Coven of Chaos and the recently reported Vision Quest. Yet, according to The DisInsider’s latest Rumor of the Week–this time shared via an article rather then their usual podcast–it seems that the long-rumored Scarlet Witch spinoff project is not currently in any form of development.

    As they shared, it’s a “Rumor of the Week” and it could still be in an early form of development. Of course, they may want to simply focus primarily on the current projects that are already continuing the story set up in WandaVision, especially after Wanda was seemingly killed off Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. We know that it’s very unlikely and DisInsider’s Derek Cornell does hint that Elizabeth Olsen may appear in at least one episode of Agatha.

    He also believes she’ll be back in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. So, perhaps one of the spinoff projects will lead into her return and we find out what happened to the Scarlet Witch after the events of that film. They have many possibilites in how they expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe and there’s always a possibility to return to this project at a later point. She’s an important part of the multiverse concept in the comicsa, and the Multiverse Saga has just begun.

    ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ Seemingly Set to Introduce One of Marvel’s Most Beloved Couples

    When it was announced that Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha, who fans grew to love in 2021’s WandaVision, was returning to the role for her own solo series, fans were curious about the direction it might take. After taking a sound beating from the Scarlet Witch and having her powers drained, Agatha was punished by being turned back into the nosy neighbor version of her character and left behind in Westview. Even as the start of production on Agatha: Coven of Chaos draws near, word on the plot of the series has yet to hit the web, though some intriguing casting details have.

    In June, a casting leak indicated that the Agatha-centric series was looking for an actor, 17-20, to play a gay, lead character. The character was described as being “witty” and “astute” with a dark sense of humor and also being a “bit of a fanboy.” Fans of Marvel Comics readily identified this character as Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan, one of Wanda’s sons seen in WandaVision. Teenage Billy was so much of a fanboy that he originally called himself Asgardian and styled himself after Thor’s look when he first entered into superheroing. While all the dots might not connect as to how an older version of Billy might appear in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Agatha’s interest in Wanda’s children as seen in WandaVision could be a plot point that would easily carry over into her series. And with Mephisto once again rumored to be headed to the MCU, it’s possible that the Master of the Realm of Lost Souls might have a hand in things somehow.

    While the appearance of an aged-up Billy likely means that his twin brother, Tommy, will appear as well, there’s one more Young Avenger who comes to mind when Billy is involved. Where is Teddy Altman? Fans have expected the character to turn up for the past couple of years now, but he’s never made his way into any of the projects he’s been rumored to appear in just yet. However, another casting call might just indicate that fans won’t have to wait much longer.

    In addition to the casting call above, a second casting call for an actor, 18-20, to play a gay male has made the rounds. The character is described as “a kind soul” with a “great sense of humor” who is totally in love with his boyfriend and has an athletic build. Could this be Teddy? With not much to go on in terms of descriptors, it’s impossible to say with certainty, but the descriptors that are given are very much in line with the way Teddy has always been characterized. However, connecting the dots back to the other description, which almost certainly is Billy, Teddy becomes a VERY logical guess.

    If Agatha: Coven of Chaos does introduce teen versions of Billy, Tommy and Teddy, it lays the groundwork for projects such as the Scarlet Witch solo series, The Children’s Crusade and, ultimately, the Young Avengers. Just the introduction of Teddy alone would also erase the strange concerns that Skaar would be replacing him in the MCU, allow for a connection to Secret Invasion and open up opportunities to tell more Kree-Skrull War stories down the road. With production on Agatha: Coven of Chaos set to begin early next year, casting announcements may soon reveal the true identity of these characters, giving fans something to look forward to in the somewhat near future.

    Kevin Feige Teases the Scarlet Witch’s MCU Future

    Elizabeth Olsen has become a driving force behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her character’s journey from orphan to one of the most powerful characters in the Multiverse has been one of the MCU’s most impressive, long-term character arcs and Olsen’s work in WandaVision stands among the best performances given in the 14-year history of the franchise. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw Wanda turn heel, fully embrace the Scarlet Witch and eviscerate some of the Multiverse’s mightiest heroes before realizing the enormity of what she’d done and bringing Mt. Wundagore down around her.

    Since Multiverse of Madness premiered early in 2022, rumors have begin to swirl that despite her apparent demise, Marvel Studios had future plans for Wanda in not one, but two projects. A solo Scarlet Witch project and an adaptation of Avengers: The Children’s Crusade have both been the source of fairly legitimate rumblings, though Marvel Studios has had nothing to say on the subject…until now. In a recent interview with Variety, both Kevin Fiege and Olsen gave some insight into what the future might hold for the character.

    As fans of the MCU might come to expect, Olsen is hesitant to reveal even the slightest bit of information about whether or not there even is a future for the character, saying “I really don’t know my future. There’s nothing that has been agreed on.” Fortunately, and perhaps a bit uncharacteristically, Feige was a touch more loquacious.

    There really is so much more to explore. We still haven’t touched on many of her core storylines from the comics. I don’t know that we saw her under rubble? I saw a tower coming down, and a little red flash. I don’t know what that means.

    Essentially, Feige is subscribing to the narrative that many fans have been quick to point out: though the circumstances seemed dire for Wanda as Wundagore came crumbling down, there’s no reason to surmise that one as powerful as the Scarlet Witch couldn’t have survived. More than that, Feige’s praise of Olsen is effusive, calling her “incredibly humble and incredibly down-to-earth” behind the scenes while also stating that she is “a force of nature” when “those cameras roll.” To cap it off, Feige enthused that he’d “work with Lizzie for another 100 years” before teasing “anything’s possible in the multiverse!” Certainly not the type of “I-said-a-lot-without-saying-anything” answers Feige tends to give nor a nail in the coffin of the character.

    Even after being told of Feige’s comments, Olsen remained mum on the topic of her return. But with her sons rumored to appear in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, two rumored projects that would feature her and Avengers: Secret Wars ahead, it’s hard to imagine that Marvel Studios would leave the Scarlet Witch buried in the rubble.
