  • Jaimie Alexander to Return in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

Jaimie Alexander to Return in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

Just yesterday, we got a lot of information on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disney’s Investor Day showcased the future Disney+ series and gave some small updates on the various films that will fill out Phase 4 and beyond. We sadly didn’t get too much detail on most of the films, but it seems that we didn’t have to wait long, as Deadline has now reported Jaimie Alexander is finally returning to the MCU in Thor: Love and Thunder. She was noticeably absent in Taika Waititi‘s first MCU film, Thor: Ragnarok, after we witnessed the death of the Warrior’s Three. Supposedly, Loki disguised as Odin saw her as a threat and banished her. She was among those that vanished after the snap, so it is uncertain

There is also the theory of her appearing in Loki in some capacity. It will premiere in May, so it is uncertain if they will confirm her appearance by then. Our very own Lizzie Hill heard recently from a trusted source she has a fun cameo in the Loki series. Still, it is great to see the fan-favorite character return. We have no idea what she was up to since Sif left Asgard behind and what her role will be in Love and Thunder. There have been rumors she might even get her Disney+ series at one point, which could fill in the blanks. It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it could still be in the pipeline at one point. It is also uncertain ifs he is aware that Asgard has fallen and the alien race took refuge on Earth. We’ll see whatever the future has in store for Sif and how she’ll react to what Thor has become after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

  • Christian Bale Confirmed as Gorr for ‘THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER’

Christian Bale Confirmed as Gorr for ‘THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER’

Since the moment he was cast in Thor: Love and Thunder, fans pegged Academy Award Winner Christian Bale as Gorr, the God Butcher. Today, Marvel Studios made us all THRILLED when they announced Bale in that role during the Disney Investor Day.

While the role has been shrouded in secrecy, we at Murphy’s Multiverse did hear LONG AGO that is was going to be a mo-cap heavy role. Nobody here is playing games and pretending we knew it was Gorr, but it’s good to know our source wasn’t TOTALLY off base. Gorr first appeared in 2012 in Jason Aaron’s Thor: God of Thunder #2 and proved to be one of Thor’s most capable enemies.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters May 6, 2022.

  • Chris Pratt Confirmed for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

Chris Pratt Confirmed for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

The ending of Avengers: Endgame gave us an unlikely pairing. Thor joined the Guardians of the Galaxy to find his new purpose in life. He left behind New Asgard and made Valkyrie their new Queen. So, we assumed he might be part of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 before we get a new Thor sequel. Once they revealed the line-up for the fourth phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we found out that Thor: Love and Thunder would be the first to feature the Norse god. So, we wondered if it will include the Guardians or skip to a different point in time. Well, it looks like the Hollywood Reporter was able to confirm that Chris Pratt will indeed make an appearance in the upcoming film. There is a good chance he won’t be in too many scenes, as it might just pick up where the last one left off. It makes you wonder if they finally were able to solve the debate about who would be captain.
The film is currently eyeing a February 2022 release date, so they’ve been slowly getting production started. They seem to be aiming for a January production start, as Pratt is still finishing up production on The Tomorrow War. This reveal comes at a perfect time before theories start floating around why he is traveling to Australia in case he shares something on Social Media. Strangely though, there is no confirmation of the other Guardians appearing, so it’ll be interesting to see if they are confirmed at a later date. Chris Pratt joins Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale.

  • ‘THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER’: Darcy’s Return for the Sequel Apparently Not in the Stars

‘THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER’: Darcy’s Return for the Sequel Apparently Not in the Stars

Kat Dennings’ Darcy, an original character created for the MCU in Kenneth Branaugh’s Thor, has always held an interesting place in the hearts and minds of fans. When her character didn’t appear in Thor: Ragnarok, it looked like the end for her MCU journey makig the announcement at SDCC ’19 that her character would be appearing in WandaVision a major surprise. With her character back in the picture, fans have wondered if we’d see more of her in the upcoming Thor sequel, Love and Thunder, which will film early next year. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dennings shed some light on that developing situation.

Fans of the character should prepare themselves for a let down because while we know her good friend Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, is returning for the 4th installment in the franchise, Dennings hasn’t gotten the call from director Taika Waititi:  “No, still no idea! I don’t think I’m in it. I feel like I would have heard by now. So literally my answer is I have no idea, I have even less an idea than I did before” she told ET. Dennings did, however, speak out in support of the film and the exciting new direction for Portman’s Foster who is set to become the Mighty Thor, saying, “I thought it was genius, the most genius thing I had ever heard. I think it’s so brilliant. I mean, [Portman], you know, she’s a rock star actor, she can do anything. As a fan, I’m just excited to watch it.”

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to begin production in Australia early next year and be in theaters on February 11th,  2022!

Natalie Portman Talks ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

“It’s going to be really Silly and Funny and Great.”

This is how the Academy Award-winning actress described the upcoming MCU film, Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). Natalie Portman, who portrayed Dr. Jane Foster in the previous Thor (2011) & Thor: The Dark World (2013) films, is currently in Sydney, Australia, “prepping” for the production of Thor 4. Last night, she was interviewed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She was asked about the project and how she had prepared for the project. “I’m playing the Mighty Thor…There were some graphic novels where Jane Foster becomes Thor and it’s going to be really silly and funny and great.” She also described that she had been exercising for the role, joking about the process as “tiring after working out…and during…and before.”

She continued the interview by showing praise for Taiki Waititi, the director of Thor: Ragnarök (2017) & now, Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). “He’s wonderful. I’m very excited to be a part of it all.”

  • Chris Hemsworth Wants to Do More Thor Films

Chris Hemsworth Wants to Do More Thor Films

Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor is the first character to get a fourth entry in his franchise. After Thor: Ragnarok took the character into a bold new direction, Taika Waititi will continue him on this path with Thor: Love and Thunder. There was the looming question, however, if Hemsworth would slowly end his time with Marvel Studios to focus on other projects. A while back, he was almost ready to hang up the hammer and cape. Luckily, Waititi‘s unique vision reignited his passion for the character. The Direct got their hands on a Swedish article by Elle Man, where the actor discusses his character’s upcoming film Keep in mind, these quotes are translated by The Direct through Google Translate, so there may be some mistranslation.

After reading the script, I can say that I am very excited. For sure there will be a lot of love and a lot of lightning in this production (laughs). I’m glad that after all that happened in Avengers: Endgame, I’m still part of the Marvel Universe and we can continue the story of Thor. Of course, I can’t tell you anything about the plot, but to satisfy your curiosity, I’ll say that I had a lot more fun reading the script than on “Thor Ragnarok”, and that proves something, because this movie was brilliant.

It is great to know that Love and Thunder could be even better than the last entry. Waititi‘s style is a standout within the franchise and its always great when an actor falls in love with the script. In the interview, there was also the discussion if Chris Hemsworth was planning on officially retiring from the role anytime soon. Luckily, he reveals

Are you crazy ?! I’m not going into any retirement period (laughs). Thor is way too young for that. It is only 1500 years old! It is definitely not a film that I say goodbye to this brand. At least I hope so.

Who could beat old King Thor? - Battles - Comic Vine

If there is a character with endless storytelling potential, it would be Thor. After reading up on the latest run, I would love to see them explore stories around the Midgar Serpent or Black Winter. He also is a great character to lead a new generation of heroes into battle. He also might have to guide Jane Foster, as she takes over the new role as Thor in Love and Thunder. We still don’t know where the franchise is heading in its fourth phase but the potential seems endless. It is great to see Hemsworth still enthusiastic about his role and maybe the latest entry will be the beginning of a brand new trilogy.

  • ‘THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER’ to Utilize “The Volume” Virtual Production System

‘THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER’ to Utilize “The Volume” Virtual Production System

Taika Waititi got a taste of it while directing an episode of Season 1 of The Mandalorian and now he’s come back for seconds. When filming on Thor 4 kicks off at Fox Studios Australia, Waititi will have access to the LED virtual production service known as “The Volume.” After being designed, pioneered and piloted at Disney’s Manhattan Beach Studios by Jon Favreau for use on The Mandalorian, the transformative technology will be replicated (and almost certainly improved upon) by ILM at Fox Studios Australia and Pinewood UK in addition to a second set up being built in Manhattan Beach.

Making of „Star Wars: The Mandalorian“: Der Einsatz von Virtual Sets - Green Screen war gestern - seriesly AWESOME

The technology is a game changer for movie studios as it allows them to create incredibly realistic, immersive and responsive sets on location. Using hundreds (maybe thousands now?) of LED screens and a game engine, the VFX setting changes with the movement of the cameras and allows for the virtual creation of locations without green screen technology, greatly speeding up the filming process by cutting out the time needed to replace the green screen. The idea came to Favreau after working on live-action versions of The Jungle Book and Lion King, but truly originated in the mind of George Lucas who once imagined visual effects so detailed that he could film a movie from his garage. Now Lucas’ idea has come to life as one set can be transformed into location. It appears that the Pinewood “Volume” will be up and running in February 2021 and that the one being designed for Fox Studios Australia is a larger, custom version of the original that has yet to be built. Production on Thor: Love and Thunder is expected to begin early next year ahead of a February 11, 2022 release.

  • Thor Confirmed for ‘Fortnite’ Season 4

Thor Confirmed for ‘Fortnite’ Season 4

Fortnite somehow has become the center of all pop culture. The game has just ended it’s fourth season Splash Down. Players got the chance to unlock Aquaman as a skin in the game. He isn’t the first hero to join the free-to-play giant. The game already includes various pop culture icons like Joker, Batman, Catwoman, Deadpool, Captain America and many more.

They had an event where one person got to play as Thanos. If a player found the Infinity Gauntlet on the map, he would become the mad titan. Just recently, anyone who plays through Marvel’s Avengers beta even can unlock unique weapons from Hulk and the Hulkbuster. Looks like Marvel isn’t quite done yet as they revealed that the God of Thunder will arrive for the game with an announcement coming later this month.

No matter how one feels about Fortnite, the game has grown at an astounding rate. Personally, never got into it but did love the way it handled world building. Every season leads into the next and is teased throughout the previous one. This announcement also confirms the leaks that Galactus will show up at one point. It is uncertain if he will be a skin or just part of that seasons’ storyline. The reveal of Thor also confirms that he will be wearing his latest design. Will point out though, that there is a still a chance that we get his more iconic costume. Still, this might be a way for Marvel to get more people interested in checking out his latest series. Also, it may have some tie-ins to the upcoming release of Avengers.
