New ‘Hawkeye’ TV Spot Provides a First Look at The Clown

Marvel Studios Hawkeye will be streaming on Disney Plus in just over a month and while we’ve seen a trailer and some other spots, there are still some pretty secrets yet to be revealed, including the faces of the big bads the Hawkeyes will go up against in the series. Sure, we’ve seen the Tracksuits, but they’re mostly there to beat up and provide comic relief; however, a new TV spot has given us our first look at one of the projects real threats alongside a surprising partner.

The spot reveals the first look at Fra Fee‘s Kazimierz Kazimierczak, aka the Clown, alongside Alqua Cox‘s Maya Lopez. While teasers and footage can be edited to trick fans, it seems clear Lopez and Kazi are working together and, when the series streams beginning November 24th, it’ll be interesting to see exactly who the duo are working for since they both have comic book ties to Wilson Fisk, who is heavily (get it) rumored to appear in the series.

Fee doesn’t look too clown like in the new footage, nor does Lopez look very Echo-y, but they both look to be out to cause someone some harm. We know Echo is likely to come around and join the good guys before moving on to her own series, but it seems far less likely The Clown will have a similar transformation.

The first two episodes of Hawkeye will stream on Disney Plus on November 24th.

  • New She-Hulk Comic Launching in January Ahead of Disney Plus Series

New She-Hulk Comic Launching in January Ahead of Disney Plus Series

Marvel Entertainment loves synergy. With Kevin Feige now the CCO of Marvel Entertainment, that means The-One-Above-All not only oversees Marvel Studios, but also Marvel Comics and can make sure the two departments are coordinating with peak synergy. In this case, that means that Marvel Comics will be launching a new She-Hulk series early next year to get the character back in the limelight ahead of the Disney Plus streaming series also slated for 2022.

Jennifer Walters has served as an Avenger in Jason Aaron’s 49-issue run on the team book and her adventures with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have continued what has been a challenging period for the characters since she was killed by Thanos in 2016’s Civil War II. Now writer Rainbow Rowell and artist Roge Antonio will put Jennifer at the center of her own title for the first time since Mariko Tamaki’s 2016 Hulk series when She-Hulk #1 hits your LCS January 12th. The new series will see Jen “embark on a journey that heralds back to her fan-favorite solo adventures of the past while embracing a fresh new future for the character.”

Rowell, who has been writing Runaways for Marvel since 2017, is excited to put her spin on the longtime fan favorite:

She-Hulk is the best of the best. She’s smart, she’s funny—and she’s really and truly heroic (all that and she has the best hair in comics). Jen has always been at the top of my Marvel wishlist, and I’m thrilled to be writing her next chapter.

The series will take Walters back to the courtroom and into the lives of some prior acquaintances, both friend and foe with last page of the first issue taking Jen “down a road she’s never traveled that will shake up her life and possibly the whole Marvel universe.

  • Report: Harry Styles Joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Report: Harry Styles Joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Rumors about British star Harry Styles joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe have circulated for months and now, according to Variety senior writer Matt Donnelly, those rumors are true as Styles portrays Eros, the brother of Thanos, in Eternals.

Eros first appeared alongside Thanos in 1973’s Iron Man #55. When things on Titan began to fall apart, the carefree Eros left the planet in search of more hedonistic pursuits. After travelling the cosmos, sometimes in the company of Pip the Troll, Eros traveled to Earth and eventually became an Avenger where he took on the name of Starfox.

Starfox’s power set and comic book backstory will certainly be in need of an update as he make the jump to the big screen, but Styles is certainly just the right kind of handsome for the character whose appearance has always provided a stark contrast to his brother’s Deviant countenance. Styles is reported to appear in the post-credit scene of Eternals, but the nature of his appearance and what it might mean for future appearances aren’t news stories, but rather major spoilers best saved for when you see the film.

    Eternals hits theaters November 5th!

  • New ‘Hit-Monkey’ Trailer Seemingly Reveals Major X-Men Villain

New ‘Hit-Monkey’ Trailer Seemingly Reveals Major X-Men Villain

The new trailer for Marvel’s Hit-Monkey, set to stream exclusively on Hulu on November 17th, not only gave us a little more insight into the plot of the series, but also a look at another potential antagonist for the murderous macaque. The first look revealed that Hit-Monkey would be going up against Lady Bullseye and Fat Cobra and now it looks like we can add Wolverine’s one-time mentor and bad ass ninja sorcerer Ogun to the mix.

Ogun once trained Wolverine in the way of the samurai before betraying him and trying to inhabit his body to cheat death. He later abducted and possessed Logan’s student, Kitty Pryde, before being “killed” by Logan. Over the years, Ogun has returned to haunt Logan many times, including during the Death of Wolverine story line.

Though he’s not been revealed as part of the show, the trailer shows a character who seems to be wearing the trademark mask of Ogun and wielding two swords. In Hit-Monkey, it seems that Ogun is one of several “bosses” that the title character will face off against on his quest to avenge the death of the ghost of the assassin Bryce, voiced by Jason Sudekis, who becomes bound to Hit-Monkey following his murder. The trailer seems to set up what looks to be a pretty wild ride over the course of the series with a few other obscure characters whoing up as well.

    Hit-Monkey begins streaming November 17th.

The updates mean Marvel Studios will only have 3 films in theaters in 2022. And while they still look to put 4 in theaters in 2023, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has now been moved to July, meaning it’s release will now be AFTER Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

In total, one film was removed from the upcoming Marvel Studios slate.

With the changes, the updated release slate looks like this:

Captain America 4 and Blade were expected to be the next two films to enter into production, and Fantastic Four and Deadpool 3 are believed to be high up on the list as well.

We’ll continue to update this story as it develops.

  • Jacob Scipio Reunites with ‘Bad Boys for Life’ Directors in HBO Max’s ‘Batgirl’

Jacob Scipio Reunites with ‘Bad Boys for Life’ Directors in HBO Max’s ‘Batgirl’

Jacob Scipio broke out as Will Smith’s surprise son in Bad Boys for Life and now the young actor is making the jump to the superhero genre. According to a trade report, Scipio is reuniting with Bad Boys for Life directors  Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah in the HBO Max original film Batgirl.

According to the report, Scipio’s role is being kept a secret for the time being. Previous reports had the film searching for an actor to portray DC villain Firefly, but give the age of Scipio and the age group being screened for Firefly, it’s likely Scipio is playing someone else.

Scipio joins star Leslie Grace and J.K. Simmons as actors known to be a part of the project. Production on Batgirl will take place in Glasgow, where filming on Matt Reeve’s The Batman recently concluded. The film will stream exclusively on HBO Max sometime in 2022.

  • First Look: Rob Zombie’s ‘The Munsters’

First Look: Rob Zombie’s ‘The Munsters’

Back in March, Murphy’s Multiverse had the exclusive scoop that Rob Zombie was set to direct an adaptation of The Munsters. That scoop was confirmed by Zombie himself and now he’s shared the first look at the cast of the upcoming film which will debut on Peacock and in theaters sometime in 2022.

The set photo also confirms the news from the original scoop that production will be taking place in Budapest, Hungary and that Sherri Moon Zombie, Jeff Daniel Phillips, and Dan Roebuck would have major roles in the film as Lily, Herman and the Count (Grandpa), respectively.

Zombie has long expressed his admiration for the original Munsters TV series, even including the Munster’s vehicle in the music video for Dragula, which was an homage to the coach driven by Grandpa Munster.

  • Alaqua Cox Confirms MCU’s Echo Will Have Her Comic Powers

Alaqua Cox Confirms MCU’s Echo Will Have Her Comic Powers

Marvel Studios’ streaming series Hawkeye is set to introduce several major new characters to the MCU when it hits Disney Plus next month. While much of the buzz before the series went into production centered on whether or not Hailee Steinfeld would sign on as Kate Bishop, newcomer Alaqua Cox quickly came into the spotlight when it was announced that her character, Maya Lopez, would have her spinoff series.

Lopez, better known as Echo to comic readers, like Cox, may not have been a household name, but her performance in Hawkeye filled Marvel Studios with enough confidence to greenlight an Echo series just as the character has risen to prominence in the comics. Now the host of the Phoenix Force, Echo is one of the most powerful entities in the Marvel Universe; however, before her run-in with the Ravager of Worlds, Echo was already an elite martial artist, able to stand toe-to-toe with Daredevil. Using her “photographic reflexes”, Echo has been able to perfectly emulate the fighting techniques of anyone she’s watched, making her more than a match for most opponents.

While it was originally unclear if Marvel Studios would adapt Echo’s unique gifts, Cox seems to have indicated they will in a recent interview with People Magazine:

Maya is a bada– woman. She can pick up fighting moves after watching it one time

    Alaqua Cox

So far we’ve only seen one quick look at Echo in the promotional footage for Hawkeye which means we’re all in for a treat when she gets involved in the action. In the comics, she was able to prepare to fight her opponents by watching footage of their past rumbles; in a time when any and everything is recorded and available on the internet, Echo could quickly and easily prepare for just about any opponent. It’ll be fun to see how Marvel Studios interprets her abilities to live-action and who takes the first beating at her hands Hawkeye begins streaming on November 24th on Disney Plus with a two-episode premiere.
