Robert Pattinson is All In for a ‘The Batman’ Trilogy

We’re only a few more weeks away from the release of The Batman and the potential of exploring a new franchise surrounding the new iteration of the character. We’ve already heard about potential spinoffs that explore the different corners of this noir take on the classic character. In a new exclusive interview with Fandango, Robert Pattinson was asked about his thoughts on tackling the character long-term and it seems he’s already ready to tackle a trilogy.

I’ve talked to Matt [Reeves] about the idea of doing a trilogy and that would be wonderful. I really, really enjoyed the process and it’s such a fun character to play.

    Robert Pattinson

We’re certainly all in as well to join a new Batman trilogy, especially if they are taking a Cinematic Universe approach to this take on the character. There are many different corners that can be explored, especially with the unique take teased in the trailers. So, we’ll see what it might have in store for us once the film releases and how it may open the window to future storylines.

  • RUMOR: ‘Ahsoka’ Eyeing April Production Start

RUMOR: ‘Ahsoka’ Eyeing April Production Start

The Book of Boba Fett has just ended its run, and Diseny+ followed up with the release of the first poster teasing Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s upcoming series. Lucasfilm has been quite busy working on their various projects, as The Mandalorian‘s third season is also currently underway. It looks like there’s a good chance that they are also currently preparing to start production on Ahsoka, as Bespin Bulletin has shared that the series will start in April or at the latest early May under the production title Stormclaw.

The timing would match with Mandalorian potentially ending its production by the end of March, which would give them some time to prep for the next entry. Rosario Dawson recently made her return as the character in Boba Fett‘s spinoff series and it’s uncertain if we can also expect her in the upcoming third season. So, we might not see her return as The Clone Wars character until 2023 when the series is expected to release. The series was originally rumored to enter production in the Winter of 2021, but the delay in Mando’s production could be a reason for it not starting until April.

They have been building quite the cast with Hayden Christensen set to return as Anakin Skywalker – following up his return in Obi-Wan KenobiNatasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ivanna Sakhno in undisclosed roles. Not much is known about the series, but hopefully, it’ll learn from some of the criticisms that the first spinoff was met with and remained focused on throughout.

  • ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ May Feature ‘Black Panther’s Bastet

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ May Feature ‘Black Panther’s Bastet

Thor: Love and Thunder will introduce Gorr the God Butcher, and it made us wonder just how many different pantheons we might get introduced to. Russell Crowe gave away that he was in the film as the Olympian ruler Zeus. Outside of our leading Norse gods, we don’t know much else even though the latest Moon Knight trailer did hint at the addition of the Egyptian pantheon in the form of Khonshu. Well, it seems a new rumor is to believe, we might even get to meet another familiar deity in the upcoming film, Bastet.

A new listing on the site Showcast has started making the rounds, as Akosia Sabet included the upcoming Taika Waititi film in her filmography. What stands out, however, is that she also added her role as Bastet, the Panther Goddess that the Wakandans worship. We only briefly got a look at her in the opening credits to the first Black Panther film, where we revisited the history of the fictional nation. Hopefully, her inclusion does not mean she’ll meet up with Christian Bale‘s God Butcher but she could also become an ally to our heroes eventually in the film.

There’s a lot of potential to further explore the mythology of the MCU, especially as many of the gods are, in fact, real. We’ll see just how they introduce them, as they could explore their history as other alien beings or even ones that live side-by-side with humans under a disguise, as the Eternals did in their own film. Perhaps we even get a short appearance of Khonshu or other Egyptian gods in the upcoming film. Either way, it’s an exciting prospect.

  • Disney+ Ended 2021 On a High Note With 130M Subscribers

Disney+ Ended 2021 On a High Note With 130M Subscribers

It looks like Disney+ ended their 2021 on a high note, as it was now revealed that they blasted past expectations and have hit 130M users by the end of the year. Within the fourth quarter which officially ended on January 1st, 2022, they have added 11.8M users which is far beyond the expected 7.3M forecast. Disney has reported overall revenue of $21.82B in the same period, which beat analysts consensus of around $18.36B.

It’s a big victory for Disney, especially as it was reported in a prior quarter that they were far behind their predicted subscriber growth in the third quarter. It has grown by 37% in total from the 93.9M in the prior year. It’s natural that the growth would need some time.

The biggest surprise is that they released their subscriber numbers by region with U.S. and Canada making up 18%. As expected, their Indian offering Disney+ Hotstar stood at the strongest with a 57% dominance with 45.9M. The streaming service had strong international growth and its fourth-quarter was pushed strongly by offerings like the Beatles documentary Get Back and Marvel Studios’ latest live-action series Hawkeye. The subscriber has pushed its content strongly through existing IPs and its growth has been supporting their strategy.

  • New ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Merch Featuring Cad Bane Released

New ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Merch Featuring Cad Bane Released

Just as the finale has been released, it seems that Disney is ready to make the best of Cad Bane’s live-action debut with new merchandise featuring the iconic bounty hunter. He made his debut in The Book of Boba Fett’s sixth episode and also had a substantial role in the finale. So, it makes sense that they would release some merchandise based on the character, and it even offers a full look at his design in the series. The merch was first noticed by Twitter user @starwarsstuff2.

The design still is great and it’s fascinating how they managed to make the design first introduced in The Clone Wars work so well in live-action. It’s also great that Corey Burton returned to bring him to life, which just adds that extra level of authenticity that the character made its way into live-action.

Even as the finale left some questions open regarding his future in the series, there is still a lot of potential surrounding his inclusion in live-action and what else they might explore. Plus, who knows what other animated character may make their way to live-action moving forward.

  • ‘Uncharted’s Ruben Fleischer Working on a ‘Jak and Daxter’ Adaptation

‘Uncharted’s Ruben Fleischer Working on a ‘Jak and Daxter’ Adaptation

Ruben Fleischer has been busy promoting his upcoming release of Uncharted, but it seems like he isn’t quite done with the world do PlayStation adaptations. In an interview with Digital Trends, he has revealed that he is working on also adapting another popular franchise. It looks like he has set his eyes on potentially bringing Naughty Dog’s Jak and Daxter to life.

I’m actually working on Jak and Daxter, a version of that, for PlayStation, which I think would be really cool to bring to life.

    Ruben Fleischer

Naughty Dog has had its hand in a variety of franchises, and Jak and Daxter might be one of the more curious ones to try and adapt in live-action. Uncharted mostly focused on hyperrealism while the franchise featuring a talking otter and weasel hybrid, Daxter, had a more fantastical and cartoony design. So, an adaptation might be a bit more troubling and potentially more expensive venture.

It’s not quite as cartoony as Crash Bandicoot, especially as later entries beyond the Precursor Legacy took a more adult route. So, they might skip most of the origin and go directly to the storylines from the second or third entries. Of course, it may still take some time as the director might get busy with Uncharted sequels if they end up a success.

  • Kevin Feige Initially Pitched Kingpin Joining ‘Hawkeye’

Kevin Feige Initially Pitched Kingpin Joining ‘Hawkeye’

Hawkeye brought back one of the biggest characters from the Netflix era in the form of Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Kingpin. He came back in full force and gave us another memorable performance. The actor has shared what brought him back throughout the. Producer Trinh Tran revealed in the latest episode of Marvel Studios Assembled on the Disney+ series that it was Kevin Feige who threw in the idea of the character joining the production.

Kevin threw out the idea that ‘What if this could be Kingpin?’ And I think all of our jaws just kind of dropping our Zoom meetings, and we’re kinda like, ‘Wait, you’re joking, right? This can’t be serious. Are you serious? This is… You really think that there’s a chance that we can actually get Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin in Daredevil in the series, as a cameo for a couple of scenes? Like, he is our big boss?’ And Kevin made a call to Vincent.

    Trinh Tran

It seems that they purposely wanted to go in a different direction with the character, as well as letting D’Onofrio influence his approach to the character. He was able to keep the intensity from the original series, as they still tried to make him stand out from what came before. He added that Feige pitched his return as his “introduction to the MCU” which highlights that it’s a different character. While his role was minor, it’s great that he was able to return, and hopefully, we’ll see more of him soon.
