  • Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul Returning for ‘Better Call Saul’ Final Season

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul Returning for ‘Better Call Saul’ Final Season

While it’s great to see characters return that isn’t always the case if it ends up forced. Sure, it’s great to see your favorites back but does it really fit into the story well. Better Call Saul has done a great job at bringing back some popular characters from its predecessor series, Breaking Bad. We saw fan-favorites like Mike Ehrmantraut, Nacho Varga, Gus Fring, Tuco Salamanca, and Hank Schrader make their return. Each served a purpose and overall added something to the series. It looks like they are kicking it up a notch with the upcoming finale.

Yo Mr White!” is something we never thought we would hear again as the series came to an end, as Walter White was presumed dead. It seems our luck may have changed as Peter Gould, co-creator of Better Call Saul, has confirmed that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will indeed be reprising their roles.

I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah.

    Peter Gould

Gould continued on to discuss that how the pair return will remain a mystery until it happens, as not to spoil it.

“How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season.”

    Peter Gould

That is not all, as we did also get a new image of the duo teasing their return in the upcoming series.

Their return will surely be interesting, as during the time this series takes place, Walter White has yet to “break bad” and amass his drug empire as Heisenberg. Its possible we could see them appear in a scene set during the events of the show that somehow fits into the story, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

  • Will Aqualad Appear in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’?

Will Aqualad Appear in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’?

Throughout the character’s long history, Aquaman has had quite a few sidekicks and partners that have helped him defend the seven seas with one quite recently taking the spotlight and becoming quite the fan-favorite. Jackson Hyde is all the rage these days in DC Comics’ Infinite Frontier and rightfully so, beloved by fans as he rises from obscurity to become the only other character to ever don the mantle of Aquaman and join the Justice League.

It was recently announced that HBO Max would be developing an origin series for the character with Charlize Theron set to produce. The HBO Max series will be an adaptation of the Young Adult novel You Brought Me The Ocean by Alex Sanchez and Julie Maroh. The project looks to be in early development and, as of this writing, does not have a writer, director, or star attached. It’s also unknown if the series will be set within the DC Extended Universe and whether we could see Jackson team up with Aquaman. However, a report from last year may give us some clarity on that front.

Back in October of 2021, CinemaReviewed took to Twitter to spill some information on the upcoming film Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom. In that tweet, the site revealed Aqualad would make his live-action debut in the film. What makes this more interesting is that in the very same tweet the site also noted that there were plans for a solo series that was in development at HBO Max.

    https://twitter.com/reviewedcinema/status/1447346151829622788?s=21&t=YwPvocRixL9FyOW4ySV3zQ

What makes things more interesting is that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is set to play a larger role in this film, reprising his role as David Kane, aka Black Manta. The character in the comics, however, is known as David Hyde and also just so happens to be the father of Jackson. Manta had a brief encounter with a woman named Lucia, a Xebellian refugee, which is where Jackson gets his Hydrokinesis. Being able to explore more of who Manta is and his past could be the way they introduce Jackson into the DCEU.

We don’t know a whole lot about Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom plot-wise as the film has been delayed from its December 2022 release date to Mar. 17th, 2023 in order to make sure its visual effects are the best they can be.

  • ‘The Flash’ Set Photos Reveal First Look at Fast Track

‘The Flash’ Set Photos Reveal First Look at Fast Track

The Flash is set to surpass Arrow for the longest-running Arrowverse series as it approaches its ninth season on the CW network. Throughout these past 8 seasons, The Flash has introduced countless other speedsters such as Reverse Flash, Zoom, Jay Garrick, Trajectory, The Rival, XS, Kid Flash, Savitar, and Black Flash — just to name a few. Over the past few seasons, the series has begun adapting recent stories like the seven forces, and looks to be bringing a recent addition to the speed force into live-action.

Recent set photos from The Flash have revealed that speedster Fast Track will be making her live-action debut sometime in the 8th season of The Flash. Set photos show the unknown actress suited up in the character’s black costume. We can assume that this actress will be playing Meena Dhawan, the alter ego of the character in the comics.

Fast Track is a fairly recent character, having been introduced in 2016, created by Joshua Williamson and Neil Googe, and introduced in The Flash Vol. 5 #3. Meena was a scientist at Star Labs who worked in the Newton’s Practical Application Department who was struck by lightning following a speed force storm sweeping through Central City. Meena used her newfound attachment to the speedforce to help the Flash in training the next generation of speedsters, those who’d also been affected by the speed force storm.

Here’s to hoping we’ll get an official look at the character soon with a better look at the costume and know just who is playing Fast Track.

Corey Stoll and Carey Elwes Join Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon’

Zack Snyder has found quite the happy home for himself and his production company Stone Quarry with Netflix, as he continues to develop new projects for the streamer. He is currently in development on an ambitious sci-fi project titled Rebel Moon, a Seven Samurai-inspired sci-fi film following a young woman bringing together warriors to stop an incoming invasion.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed more cast members for the upcoming film, following the main cast announcement back in February. The film adds Corey Stoll, Carey Elwes, Michiel Huisman, and Alfonso Herrera to its cast, with Elwes set to play the king of the galactic empire. Character details for the other actors remain under wraps at this time. Snyder has already brought together quite the cast that also consists of Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Jena Malone, Djimon Hounsou, Ray Fisher, Bae Doona, Staz Nair, Rupert Friend, and Stuart Martin.

Production on Rebel Moon is set to begin later this month and will conclude in November. • Charlize Theron to Adapt Aqualad’s ‘You Brought Me The Ocean’ Graphic Novel as an HBO Max Series

Charlize Theron to Adapt Aqualad’s ‘You Brought Me The Ocean’ Graphic Novel as an HBO Max Series

Back in 2020, DC Comics released You Brought Me The Ocean, a young adult graphic novel following Jake Hyde. The book was written by Alex Sanchez with Julie Maroh providing illustrations. The story followed Jake after the death of his father, who wants to get out of New Mexico to attend college on the coast. The thing is, Jake has these mysterious tattoos that begin to glow every time he touches the water, leading him to search for more answers to his true identity.

The graphic novel seems to have found a fan in Charlize Theron, who will serve as a producer on the adaption of the story for HBO Max. It will tell the origin of Jackson Hyde, a gay teenager living in New Mexico as his strange connection to water sets up his future as Aqualad. He has to juggle all this while falling for his classmate, Kenny Liu, captain of the swim team. There are currently no writers or directors attached. A.J. Dix, Beth Kono, and Andrew Haas serve as executive producers via Denver and Delilah Films.

There’s no word on if this series will be set within the mainline DC Extended Universe. Jackson Hyde is currently playing a big role in DC Comics, as the second Aquaman and member of the new Justice League following the death of the current incarnation in Justice League #75. For those interested in getting to know Jackson Hyde, they should check out You Brought Me The Ocean alongside the six-issue mini-series Aquaman: The Becoming, a good place to start for those curious.

  • James Gunn Teases Big Cameos for ‘Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3’

James Gunn Teases Big Cameos for ‘Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3’

It would not be a James Gunn film if we didn’t get a ton of fun updates from the set on how production is going. Recently with Guardians of The Galaxy: Vol 3, the director has been consistently updating us with pics from his cart, featuring mysteriously appearing figures from Rick and Morty, which he claims are gifts from an unknown crew member. Today’s update came with a bit of eyebrow-raiser for fans, with Gunn teasing some big cameos to come in the film.

In today’s update, Gunn teased that they would be filming some wonderful cameos for the “true Guardians fans.” Now, what could that mean? We might never find out until the film releases, as it’s James Gunn and you’re better off just waiting for the movie instead of trying to decipher his cryptic message. It could hint at a return of the Ravagers, more specifically Starhawk, Aleta Ogord, Mainframe, Krugarr, Martinex, and Charlie-27. These characters were briefly seen in Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 and again in the post-credits scene where they team up in memory of their fallen teammate, Yondu. It seems like these characters are definitely poised to return, especially in what is supposed to be the big finale for the guardians.

The Guardians of The Galaxy are set to make their return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2022, with an appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder followed up by the Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday Special which looks to be hitting screens this holiday season. Following that the long-awaited Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be hitting screens in 2023, serving as the current team and James Gunn’s send-off for the franchise.

  • RUMOR: Villains for Adam Sztykiel’s ‘Wonder Twins’ Possibly Revealed

RUMOR: Villains for Adam Sztykiel’s ‘Wonder Twins’ Possibly Revealed

The DC Extended Universe is branching out into streaming with Peacemaker being the first of what we can assume will be many heroes to shine on HBO Max. Original films on the service are still something we’ve yet to see with titles like Batgirl and Black Canary on the way. Yet, it seems like another recently announced project is moving along faster than we anticipated.

Just a few weeks ago we learned that HBO Max had begun development on yet another original DC film, this time focusing on Zan and Jayna, who are better known as the Wonder Twins. A new report from That Hashtag Show has revealed some new mystery characters who are listed to be the antagonist of the film.

One of the villains is named Kenzie, as the studio is searching for an Australian female over the age of 18 years of age. The character is described as being a bit crazy, and having a few screws loose. She is super determined to be best friends with Jayna and has a massive crush on Zan. The other two villains are another set of twins named Pils and Vinka who are being compared to the Grady Twins from The Shining. The two of them walk and talk in unison and are on a mission to kill the Wonder Twins.

Surprisingly the film is currently set to begin production on July 5th, 2022 which is quite quick considering how recently the film was announced. Black Adam writer Adam Sztykiel is set to write and direct the film. No casting announcements have been made but we can assume they’re more than likely coming soon.

  • ‘Yellowjackets’ Ella Purnell Cast as Lead in Amazon’s ‘Fallout’

‘Yellowjackets’ Ella Purnell Cast as Lead in Amazon’s ‘Fallout’

Fallout could be considered to be among one of the most popular game franchises of all time, set in the futuristic, post-apocalyptic world that never let go of the ’50s. Each game in the series has featured a different protagonist, usually survivors frozen within vaults who wake to find a whole new world before them. It seems Amazon may have found their sole survivor in Ella Purnell, who’s been cast as the lead in the streamer’s adaption.

Deadline is reporting that the star of Yellowjackets and Army of The Dead, Ella Purnell, has been cast as the lead character in their series adaption of the popular game franchise. While details of her character have yet to be confirmed, it’s believed that she will be playing the role of Jean. She is descried as a young woman with a can-do attitude who might just be keeping a dangerous secret. Plot details on the series also remain under wraps but the project added Walton Goggins to its cast just a few weeks ago, playing the role of a currently unnamed Ghoul.

The project is in development at Amazon films alongside Kilter Films, working in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. Todd Howard is involved with the project via Bethesda Game Studios with James Altman producing via Bethesda Softworks. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner will serve as showrunners on the series which is currently set to begin filming sometime this year, although there is currently no specific time frame listed.

  • ‘Stargirl’ Season 3 Adds Tim Gabriel as Obsidian

‘Stargirl’ Season 3 Adds Tim Gabriel as Obsidian

Stargirl is a show all about legacy, with the next generation of heroes following the defeat of the original Justice Society of America. Last season Stargirl saw the introduction of Ysa Penarejo as Jennie-Lynn Hayden, better known as Jade and the daughter of Alan Scott. We didn’t get a ton of Jennie, as she struggled to control her abilities and split the town in the pursuit of finding her long-lost twin brother Todd.

Jennie is getting closer to uncovering the truth as Entertainment Weekly is reporting that actor Tim Gabriel has been cast as Todd Rice, Jennie’s brother, and the hero Obsidian. Todd is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and has the ability to manipulate shadows that he’s yet to be able to control. Todd found his way to mysterious folks at the Helix Institute after living on the streets.

At the very end of Stargirl Season 2, we were introduced to Mr. Bones, the man behind the shadows at the Helix Institute, voiced by none other than Keith David, he seemed quite determined to give Blue Valley a visit. We previously theorized that Stargirl season 3 could introduce the supervillain team Helix, led by Mr. Bones.

Gabriel is known for his work in S.W.A.T. and Why Women Kill, as well as the upcoming horror film The Death That Awaits. The upcoming third season of Stargirl has yet to set a return date but Entertainment Weekly states that we can expect the series to return sometime this Summer.

  • New ‘Black Adam’ Merch Offers First Look at a New Costume

New ‘Black Adam’ Merch Offers First Look at a New Costume

Just a few weeks ago, the state of the DC Extended Universe saw quite another shake-up with multiple films on the slate being delayed and moved up. Black Adam was one of those films, with its July debut getting hit with a three-month delay so that VFX could be properly completed. We’ve seen very little from the film so far, but it looks like some merchandise for the film has begun to trickle out.

Every year Hallmark releases a catalog of all upcoming holiday ornaments with tentative release dates, usually featuring decorative items from the year’s biggest movies and shows. Some pages from this year seem to have made their way online, featuring a brand new look at Black Adam in what seems to be an updated suit from what we have previously seen. The suit, while similar to the one featured a few weeks back, is updated with golden boots, bracers, and a belt, a much more vibrant and even closer to accurate look for the character. The ornament will hit shelves in November, just a few weeks after the film’s release.

The suit previously seen was much dirtier and looked to have wear and tear over the years Adam presumably spent imprisoned. It’ll be interesting to see how the suit changes over the course of the film, from ancient Kahndaq to the modern-day. Fans are gonna have to wait just a little longer to witness the hierarchy of power within the DC Universe change as Black Adam is now set to hit theaters on October 21st, 2022.
