Following Kevin Feige’s public declaration in Shanghai that the live-action X-Men reboot will serve as the cornerstone of Phase 7 immediately following Avengers: Secret Wars, the studio is rumored to be wasting zero time building out the roster.
According to a new rumor from social media’s busiest bee, MyTimeToShineHello, Marvel is now “rushing to cast” the film, with Obsession breakout star Inde Navarrette prominently “being eyed” to play Rogue.
Navarrette’s profile with NYLON revealed that she had sat down for a formal general meeting with Thunderbolts* and X-Men director Jake Schreier, whose youth-focused reboot will find its characters “wrestling with their identity and place in the world.”
With Feige having teased that industry reports of a female-focused X-Men film like up with the studio’s vision for the film, a heavy-hitter like Rogue should be a no-brainer to join the roster. And with Navarrette’s star on the rise, she may well be the right choice to give Anna Marie the depth of character the Fox film’s forgot.
