The search the MCU’s premier female mutant powerhouse has kicked into high gear, sugah.
During the latest edition of The Hot Mic, Jeff “The In” Sneider corroborated information originally dropped by MyTimeToShineHello and ApocHorseman, confirming that Alien: Romulusand Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery breakout star Cailee Spaeny is firmly in the mix to play Rogue.
The studio’s strong tracking of Spaeny points directly toward a total character rehabilitation compared to the old Fox films. For two decades, comic book purists voiced intense frustration over how the original movies stripped away Rogue’s fierce, powerhouse Southern personality to reframe her as a timid runaway.
Marvel Comics X-Men have had no shortage of formidable villains over the years…over the last few days, Adam Driver has been rumored to be portraying a trio of them.
Originally reported by Apocalyptic Horseman to be Marvel Studios choice to bring a new iteration of Magneto to the MCU, it’s now clear as mud who Driver might be playing. Following Apocalyptic Horseman’s retraction and correction about Driver’s role, which he claimed is actually Mister Sinister, Nexus Point News–the outlet formerly associated with the insider–published their own exclusive, asserting that Driver will be portraying William Stryker.
One of the X-Men’s most vile villains, Stryker appeared in the Fox films but, to nobody’s surprise, the character really didn’t share much in common with his comic book counterpart. Introduced in Chris Claremont‘s God Loves, Man Kills, Stryker was a mutant-hating religious fanatic who believed his divine calling was to rid the Earth of its mutant population. Backed by his paramilitary Purifiers, Stryker killed hundreds of mutants.
While Stryker isn’t quite as intriguing of a first film villain as Mister Sinister, he is one that would be elevated by Driver’s full-range of talents. He would also pair well with Tramell Tillman‘s William Metzger to create a solid anti-mutant foundation as the MCU gets its Mutant Saga off the ground.
Ahead of SDCC, the cast of the MCU’s mutant reboot may be starting to take shape. A new wave of industry whispers has linked two powerhouse performers—Patrick Wilson and Bill Skarsgård—to the highly coveted role of Charles Xavier for Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot.
With Adam Driver reportedly set to bring his own, brand of raw, unpredictable intensity to Magneto in the 2028 film, Marvel Studios has to hit another home run in casting Xavier. Wilson’s veteran gravitas and Skarsgård’s uncanny ability to disappea into his roles, present two wildly different, yet equally thrilling, directions to re-introduce the psychic pioneer to a new generation.
Skarsgård and Wilson are phenomenal, intense actors who are highly capable of bringing a sharp, calculating psychological edge to Professor X—steering the character far away from the passive, grandfatherly warmth of Patrick Stewart‘s legendary run.
While Stewart will always be the historic gold standard, the MCU needs a Charles Xavier to lead his team through the brutal political battlefields of the mutant era. Both Skarsgård and Wilson have the range to deliver a deeply human, flawed, and sometimes dangerous version of Xavier.
The boundaries of Matt Reeves’ standalone Gotham sandbox are expanding far beyond the criminal empires of the Falcone family. According to a report from Jeff “The In” Sneider on The Hot Mic podcast, the heavily rumored Poison Ivy spinoff series in active development.
Crucially, the trade leak clarifies that the project has bypassed the mainstream DCU mapped out by James Gunn, opting instead to plant its roots directly inside Matt Reeves’ gritty, isolated Batman Epic Crime Saga, positioning, Ivy to share the ecosystem with The Batman and The Penguin.
The biggest question raised by the report is how a character notoriously known for telepathically commanding plant life, controlling pheromones, and riding giant Venus Flytraps into battle fits inside a world where Batman relies on basic tactical body armor and street-level detective work.
Speculation has the BatVerse iteration of Dr. Pamela Isley swapping her semi-mystical connection to the Green for dark, realistic pseudo-science. Rather than controlling flora with her mind, Ivy could be adapted as a brilliant, radicalized botanical biochemist who engineers advanced, plant-derived neurotoxins and GMO chemical agents to execute calculated eco-terrorist strikes against corrupt corporate entities destroying Gotham’s infrastructure.
The movement on the Poison Ivy series follows recent comments from Robert Pattinson, who teased that the upcoming sequel—officially locked into a theatrical debut on October 1, 2027—will be a “really different type of Batman movie” that introduces more “comic-booky” elements while protecting its dark core.
Much like Lauren LeFranc’s Emmy-caliber run on The Penguin perfectly bridged the institutional criminal vacuum between the first two films, the Poison Ivy project could be used to expand the lore between The Batman- Part IIand the final installment of the trilogy. The narrative structure will allow Reeves to explore the psychological damage inflicted on Gotham’s civilian environment after the catastrophic riddler floods, giving Pamela Isley an incredibly realistic, radical motivation to target the city’s wealthy elites.
According to a new rumor from social media’s busiest bee, MyTimeToShineHello, Marvel is now “rushing to cast” the film, with Obsession breakout star Inde Navarretteprominently “being eyed” to play Rogue.
With Feige having teased that industry reports of a female-focused X-Men film like up with the studio’s vision for the film, a heavy-hitter like Rogue should be a no-brainer to join the roster. And with Navarrette’s star on the rise, she may well be the right choice to give Anna Marie the depth of character the Fox film’s forgot.
The galaxy far, far away just suffered one its biggest structural information breach in years. With director Shawn Levy’s highly anticipated blockbuster Star Wars: Starfighter locked to blast onto IMAX screens next May, a massive wave of seemingly authenticated plot and casting leaks has spilled onto the web.
Published by industry insider MakingStarWars, the extensive breakdown formally unmasks the core character archetypes, a pristine new Jedi hideout, and some incredibly wild, star-studded lightsaber skirmishes.
Here is the breakdown of the major secrets that just slipped past Lucasfilm’s Gammorean guards.
1. The Core Cast and Han Solo Dynamic
The leak details the film’s lead duo, revealing a heavy emphasis on emotional chemistry:
The Protagonists: Flynn Gray anchors the film as a young character named Cade (using an American accent). He is heavily paired with Ryan Gosling, whose character’s name sounds like “Rone” or “Ronin”. Early narrative drafts establish that Gosling’s character was originally the absolute best friend of Cade’s father.
The Dynamic: Described as a rogue, Han Solo-style smuggler archetype, Gosling’s mission is to safely transport young Cade across the galaxy. Cade prominently wears a highly specific, plot-important necklace, while Oscar-winner Amy Adams is locked in to play the child’s mother. Insiders note that Levy’s proven track record directing young actors on Stranger Things paid off massively here, with Gosling and Gray reportedly displaying “tremendous” on-screen chemistry.
2. The Planet Adaria: A Muddy Jedi Sanctuary
The central destination for Gosling’s transport mission is a brand-new terrestrial planet named Adaria.
The Aesthetic: Adaria is described as a lush, deeply green location inspired by East Asian architecture, heavily crowded with tiki-style huts and a stark, muddy terrain. On set, massive mechanical struts—heavily implied to be colossal starship landing gear—were constructed.
The Legacy: The planet functions as a secret, sacred Jedi refuge and academy. Set witnesses report seeing a crowd of background Jedi designed to resemble Padawans, heavily mirroring the youthful Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker aesthetics from the end of The Phantom Menace.
3. Mud Duels and a 650-Year-Old Cantina Owner
The leak dropped some incredibly intriguing details regarding the film’s massive physical action sequences:
The Lightsaber Clashes: Remember those wild rumors about Tom Cruise making a surprise cameo on set? The leak confirms that Cruise physically filmed a high-octane lightsaber duel taking place directly in the deep mud of Adaria. Furthermore, a parallel, plot-heavy duel on the planet features Mia Goth locking sabers against Aaron Pierre, with Pierre’s character deeply tied to the Adaria sanctuary.
Eva Mendes’ Secret Role: In a brilliant bit of real-world crossover casting, Ryan Gosling’s wife, Eva Mendes, makes her franchise debut as a heavily glammed-out, alien cantina owner named Belle. The character is a non-human entity who is roughly 650 years old, sporting a wildly distinct aesthetic composed of gold skin-tight pants, a corset, and a sweeping golden cape.
The film is moving at light speed. Following highly exclusive footage packages shown behind closed doors to theater owners at CineEurope, actor Matt Smith recently verified that Levy has already compiled a fully watchable, rough cut of the entire movie.
Star Wars: Starfighter officially lands in theaters and IMAX in May 2027.
Before Marvel Studios can even take the stage to pull back the curtain on Avengers: Doomsday at San Diego Comic-Con later this month, tla LEGI leak may have just revealed the arrival of a group of villains who have been rumored to be on their way to the MCU for years.
The leaks outline two separate, massive playsets that pinpoint exactly where the Russo Brothers are taking the narrative. Here is the full structural breakdown of what just slipped onto the wire.
Set 1: “Sentinel Battle” — The Fox X-Mansion Siege
The first set configuration heavily validates the leaked production footage that trickled out of the UK sets earlier this year. Titled “Sentinel Battle,” the box description outlines a massive, war-torn mutant sanctuary sequence:
The Build: Features a full Sentinel replica alongside a detached, giant downed Sentinel head.
The Minifigures: The set functions as a massive multiversal crossover block, packaging Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom alongside Thor, Mister Fantastic, and a legacy Fox mutant frontline consisting of Magneto, Mystique, and Nightcrawler.
Set 2: “Dark Avengers Quinjet” — The Evil Steve Rogers Variant
This is where the leak morphs from a standard action sequence into a full-blown narrative spoiler. The second major retail set is officially titled the “Dark Avengers Quinjet.”
The Dark Avengers Debut: While we’ve all been fooled by toy leaks in the past, the info teases a variant-driven iteration of the Dark Avengers will take on the Multiverse’s Mightiest Heroes at some point in the film.
The Secret Empire Callout: The single most explosive piece of the leak is the accompanying minifigure roster, which formally lists HYDRA Captain America. While analysts note that a standard translation error could mean the ship simply belongs to the MCU’s mainline New Avengers featuring Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent, it’s hardly far-fetched to believe that the Russos would use a nightmarish version of the Avengers in a Multiverse film. The leak heavily points to Chris Evans returning to pull off a live-action adaptation of the infamous Secret Empire comic run—playing a ruthless, fascistic Variant of Steve Rogers. Disney loves to sell toys and would make a small fortune on Dark Avengers action figures.
Along with the action sets, LEGO is officially launching a premium Doctor Doom Bust set (76345), granting fans their absolute closest look yet at the exact facial sculpt and mask structure Downey Jr. will utilize in the film.
If this leak holds true when the first official trailer drops at SDCC, Avengers: Doomsday isn’t just going to be a battle over cosmic territory—it’s going to be a devastating, emotional deconstruction of the entire Marvel legacy.
An alleged plot leak from an early draft of Avengers: Secret Wars has found its way online and while it’s certainly hard to take too seriously since the film hasn’t even begun principal photography yet, it does have it’s believable bits, including a very worthy batch of enforcers working for Doom.
According to the leak, Doom will command an army of Thors in the film, which will be set on Battleworld. Though the leak doesn’t specifically refer to it as such, the army of Thors would likely be the Thor Corps which could (and certainly should) feature a character comic book fans have been waiting on to arrive in tht MCU for over a decade: Beta Ray Bill.
Last rumored to be making his debut in Thor: Love and Thunder, the Korbinite warrior was one of the founding members of the original Thor Corps in the comics. In Jonathan Hickman‘s 2015 Secret Wars–which seems to be providing a heavy dose of inspiration for the film–the Thor Corps featured Bill, a Storm variant and Throg among other Thors from across the Multiverse.
While the leak is far from concrete, Doom using Thors as his enforcers seems like an absolute slam dunk to transfer from page to screen. Marvel can’t afford to hold much back in the Multiverse Saga finale and introducing a character like Beta Ray Bill, who is one of the House of Ideas greatest Cosmic heroes, can only help set the stage for whatever comes next.
According to Cryptic, Sink’s Jean isn’t just a local mutant from Westchester—she was described to him as being “time-displaced.” If that phrase sounds familiar, it’s because it was the literal backbone of one of the most polarizing and fascinating eras in modern X-Men history.
In 2012, writer Brian Michael Bendis launched All-New X-Men, a series that saw the original five teenage X-Men (Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Iceman, and Angel) travel from the past to the present day. This teen Jean had to grapple with a world where her older self was dead, her mentor was a failure, and her future was a tragedy.
By using the “time-displaced” description, Marvel Studios might be signaling a move away from the traditional born in the 616 origin. Instead of explaining where mutants have been for 20 years, Marvel could simply pluck them from the past–or another timeline–and drop them into the modern MCU. Even if it’s controversial, it’s potentially brilliant.
Given the knowledge that Brand New Day deals–at least in part–with the fallout of Peter’s memory wipe, if Jean arrives as a stranger in a strange land, she and Peter–the ultimate lonely hero–share a thematic link that makes their rumored partnership much more poignant. Additionally, a time-displaced Jean allows Marvel to explore the character’s raw, untapped power and her psionic form–which Cryptic notes will look like X-Men ’97–without immediately jumping to the cosmic firebird.
Jean gets the First Steps Sue treatment. Unlike previous Jean Greys, her powers have some new visual flair to them. More VFX are involved, and it's said to resemble her X-97 counterpart. pic.twitter.com/MgN2K8VNbe
The time-displaced angle–especially in one of the final films in the Multiverse Saga–helps avoid forcing Marvel to address why the X-Men haven’t intervened on Earth-616 before. It also opens the door to the other members of the original five X-Men appearing in either a post-credit even to Brand New Day or in Avengers: Secret Wars.
The Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer didn’t just give us our first look at Peter Parker’s post-memory-wipe life; it gave us a voice that has been haunting the fandom since the drop. While the footage was a whirlwind of Scorpion, Punisher, and Hand Ninjas, the most compelling story was hidden in the narration.
Fans believe that the gravely, authoritative voice narrating part of the trailer belongs to Keith David and have begun to theorize that he isn’t just lending his legendary pipes to a trailer; he’s playing the man who will finally bring the Clone Saga to the MCU: Dr. Miles Warren.
The trailer is anchored by a monologue that sounds less like a superhero speech and more like a lecture from a world-weary biologist.
Spiders have three life cycles. When between cycles, it can leave the spider vulnerable to threats. And for those spiders who make it through… it amounts to a kind of rebirth.
This isn’t just flavor text. It’s a clinical observation of Peter’s glitching DNA. In the comics, Miles Warren, aka The Jackal, is an evolutionary biologist and professor at Empire State University. The way David delivers those lines—with a mix of clinical fascination and cryptic warning—fits the profile of a man who sees Peter Parker not as a hero, but as a biological specimen.
As noted earlier this week, director Destin Daniel Cretton is leaning heavily into the 90s animated series. In that show, Miles Warren was the man Peter turned to when his mutation went out of control. Having Keith David—a veteran of that same animated universe—play the live-action Warren would be serendipitous meta-casting.
The trailer shows Peter’s neogenic nightmare is already in full swing. In the comics, Warren’s obsession with Peter’s DNA is what leads to the creation of clones. If Peter’s body is already “between cycles,” he would provide the perfect target for a Warren…who would likely be a colleague of Bruce Banner at ESU, allowing him to potentially get his hands on Parker’s test results and DNA. If the film ends with Peter overcoming his biological breakdown, Miles Warren is the guy holding the vial of DNA that leaves the door open for the new trilogy to adapt the Clone Saga, one of the most controversial arcs in the history of Marvel Comics.
