‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ Renewed by Paramount+

Paramount+ has opted to renew Criminal Minds: Evolution for a second season. The news was announced on Thursday, with the streamer noting how Criminal Minds fans have embraced this new series.

In a statement to the press, Paramount Streaming chief programming officer Tanya Giles expressed excitement over all of the “twisted storylines” yet to come for the series. “We’re thrilled to bring even more twisted storylines to our loyal fans of Criminal Minds: Evolution with the order of another season,” she said. “The series has always been a consistent top performer for Paramount+ and fans have quickly embraced this new season with its more serialized elements. There are still many dark twists and turns yet to come for the BAU this season, and we can’t wait for fans to see what’s in store.”

Evolution is the continuation of the original series, Criminal Minds, which ended its run after fifteen seasons in 2020. The new series brings back stars Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster as their characters seek to locate a killer (played by Zach Gilford) who has “used the pandemic to build a network of other serial killers.”

Since its debut in November, Criminal Minds: Evolution, has become one of Paramount+’s top five original shows and has driven increased viewership for the original as well. (Of note, the original series is also available to stream on Hulu.) The first season, which consists of 10 episodes, is set to conclude on Feb. 9th.

  • ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Matt Murdock Gets a New Funko

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Matt Murdock Gets a New Funko

Spider-Man: No Way Home was a major release back in 2020, as it not only brought back one of Marvel’s most iconic characters to the silver screen but also acted as a gateway into the multiverse storyline of the new Marvel Cinematic Universe saga. Yet, the film managed to be so much more than that with some great performances from the MCU characters and those that made their grand return from past entries of the many iterations this franchise has seen.

Somehow, in a film with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, it does seem like the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock stole the show. Not only was it the first time the actor made his cinematic appearance but it also finally added some weight to the Netflix series happening. It seems the character is going to make a return ahead of his new Disney+ series, as a new Funko has been unveiled for the character inspired by his look in the film.

Matt Murdock always had a signature style and it’s great to see the love put into bringing his Funko to life. It’s not the first one from Cox‘s version of the character but it’s still something fans will definitely want to get their hands on. It’s also interesting that a whole line of new figurines is coming out from Spider-Man: No Way Home, especially for those that haven’t gotten one due to Sony trying its best to stay tight-lipped on their appearance in the film. The Funko is a limited edition over at Entertainment Earth so get it while its hot.

  • Ryan Reynolds Teases a Collision of Icons in ‘Wolverine and Deadpool’

Ryan Reynolds Teases a Collision of Icons in ‘Wolverine and Deadpool’

The third installment of the Deadpool franchise is quickly becoming one of Marvel Studios most anticipated projects if not one the most talked about. Since star Ryan Reynolds revealed that Hugh Jackman was coming out of retirement from the character of Logan to co-star in the untitled film, the project has been in the news fairly consistently. While there are plenty of theories about what the plot of the film will include (and what the title might be!) little is known about the film which goes into production in the Fall of 2023 and plenty of questions about how the very R-rated Deadpool will fit in the very PG-13 MCU.

The tone of the first two Deadpool films, while incredibly different from the average MCU film, is partly responsible for their popularity. Jackman’s last outing as Wolverine in Logan was extremely violent. The irreverence and violence associated with the characters may not seem to fit in the MCU, but according to Reynolds, fans should expect an “authentic” representation of the characters they’ve come to know and love and one hell of a team-up.

It’s really kind of finding a way to service both of these characters that feels extraordinarily authentic to each of them, and I think these two wrongs actually will make a right in a pretty great way.

    Ryan Reynolds

As for how he expects to blend the sensibilities of the Deadpool films with Marvel Studios more family-friendly films, Reynolds calls the process of figuring that out a “tightrope walk.”

I think it’s a tightrope walk. I mean most of these movies are always a tightrope walk of tone, so in this instance, though, you have a collision of two pretty iconic characters that exist in the Marvel Ancillary Universe [laughs] — we’re in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point.

    Ryan Reynolds

Kevin Feige has gone on record to indicate that Deadpool 3 will have an R-rating, like its predecessors, so it seems fans can still expect more of what they loved. It’s also clear that the “collision” of the two characters is not only the film’s biggest selling point but also the point from which the film is being built out. Deadpool 3 is starting to sound a bit like Lethal Weapon and there’s nothing wrong with that!

  • Giancarlo Esposito is Ready to Roll into the MCU

Giancarlo Esposito is Ready to Roll into the MCU

It’s not a surprise that Giancarlo Esposito became one of the “top actors” that fans want to see joining the big Marvel family because of his excellent performance in shows such as Breaking BadBetter Call Saul, and The Mandalorian, to the point that the actor himself it’s interested in receiving that Disney money but not in the way that MCU fans think.

Even though everyone is on board to see Esposito on the big screen as Dr. Doom, he recently expressed interest in taking on a very different role; the 64-year-old actor is keen on playing Charles Xavier, leader of the X Men.

“I love what Marvel does. I love that the fans can see me in this universe and are proposing not only one character, possibly Magneto, possibly [DC’s Dr.] Freeze. And the biggest ask is Charles Xavier”

Giancarlo Espocito on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Some people may find this statement confusing since we recently saw Charles interpreted by Patrick Stewart in the latest installment of the Doctor Strange franchise, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And yes, that’s a valid point. Still, we must remember that we saw him coming back as the Professor because Feige wanted to give the fans what they had been praying to see for years; this doesn’t mean that he might be Professor X from the MCU universe. He might be a variant. Hence, the door for someone different to play this character is still wide open (as we know).

“I want to play a good guy. Charles is smart. He’s good. But I feel as if there may be some mileage with me and Marvel. I know I love what they do. I know I love creativity. So who knows what could happen? Keep putting it out there”

Giancarlo Espocito on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

As Mr. Esposito said, the only thing we can do is make our voices heard, so the people at Marvel give us what we want.

  • Matt Reeves Provides Update on ‘The Batman’ Sequel Script

Matt Reeves Provides Update on ‘The Batman’ Sequel Script

The landscape of Warner’s DC films has been in major upheaval since James Gunn and Peter Safran were hired as co-CEOs to oversee the newly formed DC Studios. Various projects, including Wonder Woman 3 and a sequel to Black Adam, have been scrapped in favor of a fresh start for the new executive creative team. One project that has remained on the slate following these changes, however, is the upcoming sequel to The Batman. It’s confirmed that the Matt Reeves-directed 2022 film will be the first in a new saga overseen by the filmmaker which will exist in a universe that will apparently be separate from whatever creative direction Gunn and Safran lead at DC Studios.

One notable question from audiences is when they should expect this new film. In a recent interview, Reeves provided an update on the status of his new script for The Batman’s sequel.

I mean, I can’t give an update on that in terms of specifics, except to tell you that we are hard at work on the script. My partner (Mattson Tomlin) and I are deep in it and I’m excited about what we’re going to do.

    Matt Reeves

Ultimately, there isn’t too much to glean from this specific quote about Matt Reeves’ new film. The notion that the film is deep in the scripting phase indicates that audiences shouldn’t expect to see Robert Pattinson return as the Caped Crusader in the immediate future.

Fans of the well-received 2022 superhero film will be able to return to Gotham City before then, however; The Penguin is set to begin filming throughout 2023, which means a 2024 release for the Colin Farrell-led is likely. Meanwhile, shows based around the Gotham City Police Department and Arkham Asylum are in development at HBO Max.

  • William H. Macy Joins ‘Kingdom of The Planet of the Apes’ Cast

William H. Macy Joins ‘Kingdom of The Planet of the Apes’ Cast

The next chapter of the Planet of the Apes franchise has added a Hollywood stalwart to its ranks. William H. Macy has joined the cast for the 20th Century’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes in a currently unknown role. He will be joining Owen Teague, Freya Allan, and Peter Macon in the latest installment. Wes Ball, who helmed the Maze Runner film series, is set to direct based on a screenplay written by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is set to be both a sequel and a new chapter in the film saga after the previous reboot trilogy, with the last two films directed by Matt Reeves. This film franchise has long been one of the most important for the studio since the original Planet of the Apes film in 1968. This will be the first film released following 20th Century was acquired by Disney.

William H. Macy has recently finished an 11-season run for Shameless on Showtime during which he received multiple Emmy nominations for his performance as the lead character, Frank Gallagher. In addition, he played a supporting role in the hit Hulu limited series The Dropout. The star actor is likely best known for prominent roles in films such as Fargo, Air Force One, and Boogie Nights. It remains to be seen if this new venture into the Planet of the Apes from Macy will be a catalyst for his next iconic film performance.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is currently scheduled to release exclusively in theaters on May 24, 2024.

  • The Last of Us: Apocalypse 101 – Rule #73, Look For The Light

Rule #58, People Aren’t Better Than Monsters

    -Iggy Bigby

When you’re lost in the darkness… Look for the light. Believe in the Fireflies!

Sounds pretty hokey, doesn’t it? I used to think so.

Back in Buffalo – almost 20 years ago now – we hated the Fireflies. That stupid slogan was everywhere. Inescapable. Alex and I would snicker about it in the Quarantine Zone, come up with some fairly solid riffs on our self-proclaimed saviors and their righteous mission. We couldn’t understand why they’d want to tear down what little we had left. We were so young and so selfish.

Sure, the QZ was far from perfect. A borderline fascist environment, honestly. But at the time, at least it kept us safe – or, as safe as we felt we could get in a world post-society. Democracy was gone, we thought. Accept it, and let us trudge through life. Stop trying to tear down our walls. FEDRA’s walls. I’ve been through a lot since then, though. I’m different now. Maybe you see it in my writing? I don’t joke like I used to. I’ve stopped trying to sugarcoat the reality of our situation. It’s bad, and yeah, someone should probably do something about it.

It’s not enough to live behind walls anymore. It’s not enough to spend decades cowering from existence, one mistake away from losing everything. That’s not the future I want. Not for me, and not for you. It’s certainly not what I wanted for Sweet Pea. It’s been a couple years since we left Jackson, and since then, I’ve started to see what I’d been missing this whole time.

Believe it or not, the Fireflies give us our best chance at a life worth living.

If you’ve been keeping up with all my entries, you’ll remember we were waiting for someone named Tommy to pick us up from Jackson and ferry us back to the Fireflies’ base in Salt Lake City. I almost didn’t go with him. The community in Wyoming was beautiful, and I couldn’t think of a real reason to leave it behind. Then, not long before Tommy made it to us, Jackson had to fend off a Bandit attack. Five men, all of whom I’d come to know, gave their lives to keep their families safe. To make sure their children would have enough supplies to make it through tomorrow.

I realized, at that moment, how important the Fireflies could be. Jackson was only allowed to be tranquil some of the time when the apocalypse wasn’t forcing death down its throat. The Fireflies had the potential to build a world where it could flourish. Where it would only be one of many thriving communities. I didn’t have anyone to protect anymore, nobody else to look out for but myself. So, I decided my best use was to leave Jackson and dedicate myself to crafting a world where its residents could sleep soundly at night.

I joined the Fireflies, and I haven’t looked back. Ironically, Tommy went back to Jackson after dropping us off. He wanted to stick to his word; get us there safely. But he found something special in that county, running that dam. He found love, so he left the Fireflies. I suppose you could say I took his place. I don’t regret it. First decision I’ve made in a while I can say that for.

You might think it’s some culty bullshit, but I’ve never felt more secure. I have a purpose again, and I feel good doing it. It’s been a really long journey, but if I had to enter another rule in this journal – in ‘Apocalypse 101’ – it would be to find whatever it is that makes you feel this way too. You might be thinking it’s a weird thing to put in a survival guide. That joining a militia feels like a surefire way to get yourself killed. But there are other jobs here, aside from being a grunt. There are doctors and caretakers and cafeteria workers. All of them LIVING. Being truly ALIVE.

So, literally or metaphorically, I encourage you to abide by the following rule.

Rule #73, Look For the Light

Before you join the Fireflies, however, let me give you a brief history lesson. It’s not like school, where you sign up for classes and they teach you everything you need to know. It’s more of a “pick it up as you go along” situation. Lucky for whoever has found this journal, though, I have sorta been treating it like school. ‘101’, and all. So I’ll give you the rundown and hopefully, you’ll be good to go by the time you join up. Hell, maybe by when you find this we’ll have already done it and nothing I’ve ever written will matter anymore. That would be something.

Anyway, best I can tell, the Fireflies came about sometime in the early 2010s, not long after the apocalypse started. As I’ve covered a couple times, their goal was to restore a democratic government and remove FEDRA and the QZ’s from power. In their early days, they didn’t have much support. They’d try to start riots or coups from inside QZ’s, but it didn’t work. Eventually, they went further than FEDRA was comfortable with, and six Firefly members were publicly executed. That was a mistake on FEDRA’s part. Really stirred the people up.

After that, things started to take off. Their numbers grew, people started to see the light. They were able to organize. You could identify members from their clothing – always yellow and green, like the glow of a real firefly (Get it? True fashion). That’s what I wear now, too, which is great because I’ve always looked good in Earth colors. We also wear cool, fancy pendants as an identifier. A way to weed out the spies from actual believers.

The Fireflies’ base of operations has moved around a few times, before they landed in Utah. I’ve heard the last spot they called home was at the University of Eastern Colorado. They were there for a while, but I’m glad I missed that era. It ended poorly. Bless their hearts, the militia was searching for a Cordyceps cure in the University’s science labs. Trying to bring the world back by ridding it of monsters altogether. Testing all sorts of wacky vaccines on monkeys, until one got loose. It bit a doctor, and everything fell to shit from there*. The labs were no longer viable. They had to move elsewhere.

The last decade has been spent trying to get as many people and communities on the Fireflies’ side as possible. A lot of the QZ’s have now fallen to Firefly insurgency, a nice change of pace after so many years of failure on the militia’s part. Unfortunately, as soon as people get a little taste of freedom, they get spooked. They think the Fireflies will turn out to be just another dictatorship. So, after the QZ’s topple, the folks there reject us and make the cities their own. I can respect the idea, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Apparently, this is how the Hunters got their start. QZ’s that fell to the Fireflies just became hotbeds for “survival of the fittest.” A shame. So much wasted potential.

Now that I’m here, I’m hoping I can put an end to the mistrust. Alex always said I had a way with words. A way with people. So maybe, after I help end FEDRA, I can be a peace broker. Make up for all that time of simple killing. Stand up and convince the citizens of this country to play along. To unify. To build better lives for themselves. Maybe I can at least do that.

When you’re lost in the darkness, look for the light. And look for me. Don’t be afraid to say hi.

*(That was in 2028, just before I made myself known. I still hear whispers there’s a lead on a cure, but as far as I know, nothing all that miraculous in terms of actual progress has been made. We’re led by a woman named Marlene. She’s a fighter, and she knows how to rally the troops. She’ll do whatever it takes to get the job done. Marlene is convinced her and the surgeon here, Dr. Jerry Anderson (real nice guy), can change the world. I hope she’s right, because if she’s not, it could be the end for all of us…)

  • Kumail Nanjiani Addresses Status of ‘Eternals’ Sequel

Kumail Nanjiani Addresses Status of ‘Eternals’ Sequel

Marvel Studios’ Eternals went through 7000 years’ worth of MCU history and explored the mysterious beings’ journey on the planet. It further elaborated on the origin of the Celestials and ended with the Eternals preventing the emergence of Tiamut. However, their plan didn’t go exactly as they thought it would. After the emergence was sabotaged, Arishem the judge abducted the earthly Eternals, to evaluate their memories in order to judge humankind on Earth.

While the consequences of the emergence weren’t explored much, rumors suggest the upcoming Thunderbolts movie and Captain America: New World Order could end up retconning the corpse as Genosha, a mutant nation. An Eternals sequel hasn’t been confirmed to be in development, so these may be the only tie-ins to that film for quite some time and a new statement by Kumail Nanjiani, who portrayed Kingo in Eternals, backs up that premise.

In an interview with Total Film, Nanjiani was asked if he had any plans to reprise the role of Kingo. He replied that he didn’t “know if they [had] plans”, and that he would “love to come back.”

Yeah! I mean, listen, I have plans today. I don’t know if they have plans. I would love to come back. But I’m sort of waiting to hear when or if that’s going to happen. I’m hoping I get to do more. I had a great time playing that character. It’d be a shame if he’s a sort of one and done. But, you know, the decision’s not mine to make.

    Kumail Nanjiani

This isn’t long after Ma Dong-seok‘s (who portrays Gilgamesh) management agency listed Eternals 2 among other upcoming projects featuring the actor. We know from MCU executive Nate Moore that Harry Styles wasn’t cast as Starfox/Eros “for a tag”, and there are “more stories to be told” with his character. With more and more information surfacing on the sequel with each passing day, it’s safe to say Eternals 2 will be happening in the near future.

  • 3-for-3: Three Comic Book Arcs We’d Love to See Adapted in ‘Black Panther 3’

3-for-3: Three Comic Book Arcs We’d Love to See Adapted in ‘Black Panther 3’

Though she says it will be a while before it hits the screen, Black Panther star Letitia Wright’s assertion that a third installment in the franchise is “already in the works” has us thinking about the future! Black Panther: Wakanda Forever left a lot of paths to be explored in the future and some characters being introduced in other properties make for some interesting speculation about what stories Ryan Coogler may have in mind for Black Panther 3. Here are a few that we’d like to see on the big screen.

Black Panther: Enemy of the State

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s touching post-credit scene in which Shuri met her nephew, T’Challa II, in Haiti captured the hearts of audiences and made good on the film’s subtitle. It also opens the doors to exploring a topic addressed by Christopher Priest during his epic run on Black Panther: what happens within a country when its leader spends significant time away from it. In the comics, a sudden public scandal forced T’Challa to leave Wakanda for an extended time. In his absence, a wily refugee by the name of Achebe lead a coup and took over governing Wakanda…with a little help from Mephisto!

Black Panther: Enemy of the State could adapt this fairly easily, given Shuri’s absence from Wakanda. A coup by Achebe would also give Winston Duke‘s M’Baku a major role in the film, given that he was last seen serving as the king regent of Wakanda. With Sacha Baron Cohen reportedly signing a multi-projecet deal with Marvel Studios to play Mephisto, the time is right for this classic Preist story to make its way to the big screen. Letting Achebe go full-on talk-to-the-hand-puppet crazy while having Mephisto pulling the strings would provide an unexpected change-of-pace for the franchise.

    Black Panther: The People

Thematically, Black Panther: The People may seem a little similar to Enemy of the State, but there are enough little differences to make a case for choosing to adopt this arc from Ta-Nehisi Coates‘ run on Black Panther. Black Panther saw the government taken over from within; Wakanda Forever saw the devastation of the country; The People could easily be the logical next step. Since the passing of King T’Chaka, Wakanda has, to put it lightly, had a rough go. Killmonger’s time as Black Panther, as it turns out, was the least of their concerns. T’Challa’s friendship with the Avengers led to Wakanda becoming a focal point of Thanos’ invasion (the aftermath of which was entirely hand-waved away) and Namor’s attack cost Wakandan lives outside of the Royal Family. The people of Wakanda have had enough and are, perhaps, ready to take things into their own hands…with a little help.

The MCU has yet to explore how other African nations view Wakanda, something Reginald Hudlin did wonderfully in his run on Black Panther. Hudlin introduced the neighboring, authoritarian nation of Niganda and with it, a centuries long grudge between it and Wakanda over, you guessed it, resources. Though The People would see a revolt from within Wakanda, the country of Niganda would play a key role as well while examining the philosophical arguments around types of governance. Coates’ run introduced Tetu, a Wakandan with strong anti-monarchical beliefs, and Zenzi, a Nigandan empath who used her powers to incite riots. The plot of this one, as they say, writes itself. The disillusioned Tetu finds his anti-monarchical movement growing following the multiple tragedies brought to Wakanda by the Royal Family. His movement draws the attention of Zenzi, who uses her powers to stir the people into a revolt, all the while serving the end goals of the brutal Nigandan Prime Minister, M’Butu, who seeks to take ownership of Wakanda’s resources.

    Black Panther: Invasion

Heavily hinted at in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, CIA Director Valentina Allegra de Fontaine wants what Wakanda has: Vibranium. For playing such an integral part in the MCU, the Great Mound really hasn’t been featured much outside of a few minutes of screentime in Black Panther. It’s rumored that 2024’s Thunderbolts will see Val’s team of Super Soldiers and spies head to the Tiamut’s corpse to gather up another valuable natural resource: Adamantium. Adamantium would make a pretty suitable replacement for Vibranium, which is now under the joint protection of Talokan and Wakanda, and so Val’s pursuit of it makes sense. Of course, there’s another rumor about that movie that would make it pretty tough for the Tbolts to do their job, meaning they might come home empty handed.

Should Val fail to obtain some Adamantium, she may get desperate and, as you know, desperate time call for Deathlok. As the director of the ever-so-shady CIA, Val would know all about the long-since-abandoned Project: Alpha-Mech. A simple plot could see Val provoking a neighboring nation, perhaps the aforementioned Niganda, to attempt an invasion of Wakanda. The U.S. Government could then offer to “assist” Wakanda by sending in a unit of their Very Special Forces: a team of Deathloks. As cyborgs, Deathloks could be easily manipulated to obey the whims of their person-in-the-chair. Fans of the comics might recognize this as an adaptation of Reginald Hudlin‘s “Who Is the Black Panther?” arc. It would be a wild, wild ride to see on screen!

  • REVIEW: ‘The Bad Batch’ Matures With Deliciously Complex Third Episode

REVIEW: ‘The Bad Batch’ Matures With Deliciously Complex Third Episode

    *SPOILERS*

Everybody loves a good villain story. Whether it’s Travis Bickle in Martin Scorsese‘s Taxi Driver, or the zany cast of characters in James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad, audiences have always flocked to plots centered around the worst of the worst. The exact draw behind these stories is up for debate, but perhaps the most common theory is that people are naturally curious about notions they don’t understand. They are obsessed with glancing into the minds of those they deem lesser, an almost demented form of escapism that allows them to say – “well, at least I’m not that.” The third episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch‘s second season plays on this fascination, but takes an alternative, and quite frankly, more engaging route in its execution.

After a fairly routine and unmemorable set of premiere adventures, The Bad Batch finally pushes itself forward with The Solitary Clone. The first episode of the series not to feature the main group of titular characters, Clone instead focuses on their former comrade and current rival Crosshair, giving fans a look into his side of the conflict and a better understanding of Imperial clones at large. It’s a much-needed break in the formula for a show that often falls into repetition, and one of the Star Wars franchise’s best deconstructions of the early Empire and its very mortal forces. The episode works as well as it does because it refuses to treat its protagonists as villainous, despite their usual status quo within the series. This is not a story that says “look how awful our leads are”, but one that revels in convincing its viewers of their humanity.

There’s a dark triumph in balancing the ideals and reactions of Crosshair and his latest scene partner, the once-great Commander Cody. Both are stuck with the “Republic” after Order 66, but only one has grown to regret it. Cody, as fans might have hoped, has grown disillusioned with the Empire, and spends most of the episode struggling with his decisions. Crosshair, on the other hand, remains steadfast in his loyalty. Even after committing heinous acts in the name of “following orders”, however, Clone still manages to make Crosshair feel sympathetic. In classic Star Wars fashion, a sense of possible redemption endures, in large part due to a silent comprehension of Cody’s reasoning. A call-back to an old quote from The Clone Wars – “You know what makes us different from battle droids? We make our own choices, and we have to live with them too.”

It’s this back-and-forth between the one-time Republic heroes that gives the episode a thriving backbone, tapping into the soul of Star Wars and hyper-focusing on the “will they, won’t they” thematic line that runs through all clone-related projects. The episode is also unafraid to demonstrate the consequences of its leads’ aforementioned choices, giving it an added layer of brutality that acts as a wildly effective visual aid in its point-making. From Clone‘s opening moments, there’s an unexpected admission that the next twenty-odd minutes will take themselves more seriously than the previous week, and the show finds itself maturing because of it.

The Bad Batch has been in desperate need of trying something new for a long time now, and it’s refreshing to see the series embrace one of its characters and his arc so wholeheartedly in an installment that’s truly unlike the rest. One can only hope this sort of concentrated storytelling continues for the rest of the season, and that the show’s other leads receive similar treatment when they inevitably return to the forefront. Otherwise, The Solitary Clone will be forced to stand out as a diamond in the rough, a singularly delicious tale fit for consumption by any viewer.
