  • Kevin Feige Won’t Say No To Another Season of ‘WandaVision’

Kevin Feige Won’t Say No To Another Season of ‘WandaVision’

The minds behind WandaVision are making the press rounds this week to dissect the big moments that the show did and did not make good on and to talk about what’s next for the characters. We know that we’ll see the newly christened Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and that Monica Rambeau has a big part to play in Captain Marvel 2 but beyond that, we don’t really know what’s next for the rest of the core characters from the show, leaving fans wondering if we might see a second season of the streaming hit. Comicbook.com asked Marvel Studios One-Above-All Kevin Feige about the possibility of another season of WandaVision and while he didn’t say no, he definitely did not say yes, either.

Elizabeth Olsen and Jac Schaeffer on Wanda Maximoff's Grief and Journey to the Scarlet Witch | Marvel

We are developing all of these shows the way we’re developing our movies. In other words, when we start with a movie, we hope there’s a part two; we hope there’s a part three. But we aren’t factoring that into part one. We are trying to make something that hooks people enough and that people enjoy enough and want to revisit enough, that they want to see the story continue. So that is the way we’re proceeding on television as well.

I’ve been at Marvel for too long to say a definite no or definite yes to anything in regards to your question about another season of WandaVision but some of the shows that we’re about to start filming, we are keeping in mind a structure that would lead into a Season Two and a Season Three in a more direct way than, say, a show like WandaVision which clearly goes into a feature. But it is new. That’s part of the fun, exciting, adrenaline-boosting creativity that we’re able to do, thanks to Disney+, and really to figure out new ways of storytelling. Perhaps someday we’ll chart out five seasons of a show, but really we’re focusing on delivering the best seasons we can one at a time so far.

Reading between the lines of Feige’s comments, it seems less likely that WandaVision ends up with another season than something like Loki or She-Hulk and that seems directly related to the fact that WandaVision was designed to move Wanda’s story along from one film (Avengers: Endgame) to another (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) while some of the other series are seemingly being designed with future seasons in mind. Given the unique structure of season one, It’s hard to imagine what another season of WandaVision might be about at this point given the way things were left but maybe there’s a way to spend some more time with many of the same characters in another, differently names series down the road.

  • Jac Schaeffer Explains Why Wonder Man Didn’t Make the Cut in ‘WandaVision’

Jac Schaeffer Explains Why Wonder Man Didn’t Make the Cut in ‘WandaVision’

Marvel Studios layered plenty of easter eggs and red herrings into its first Disney Plus streaming series, WandaVision. From Bova milk to the Whizzer to the Grim Reaper’s helmet in the Episode 2 opening to allusions to the devil that led many fans to think Mephisto was coming to the ultimate bait and switch with Evan Peters, the show kept fans on their toes. Even one of the behind-the-scenes features had fans crafting theories after a picture of longtime Avenger and one-time love interest of Wanda Maximoff, Simon Williams, appeared on screen. According to an interview with Entertainment Tonight, showrunner Jac Schaeffer, however, that Wonder Man tease wasn’t really supposed to be a tease.

WandaVision: Did a Featurette Just Spoil Wonder Man's Debut?

I will say emphatically that that was not a red herring inside of a featurette. Not that I know of. Marvel might’ve done you all with dirty with that. [Laughs] But I was not doing that on purpose. That writer’s room was papered from floor to ceiling with just about everything, and so that was just one of the many things that made it up on the wall.

After being unceremoniously dismissed as pretty much the worst Avenger by director Joss Whedon, it seemed that the character might finally find life in WandaVision. However, it seems that Williams once again never made it past the brainstorming stage of the creative process for the project, leaving him sidelined again and leaving fans to wonder if Wonder Man will ever crack the lineup.

  • Rumor: ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Working Title Revealed

Rumor: ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Working Title Revealed

If you’ve been missing Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang as much as I have, then you probably are eagerly awaiting Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Given that crazy sounding main title, and a freshly rumored working title like Goat Rodeo, Scott and Hope will certainly have their hands full.

Derek Cornell of the DisInsider dropped that Goat Rodeo was the working title on his Twitter today.

Why is this significant? Goat Rodeo is a slang term for a huge fiasco, or a trainwreck of a situation. So it’s highly unlikely we’ll have cute little baby goats in colorful knitted sweaters bounding around the MCU, wreaking all too adorable havok. However whatever Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror gets up to in the third Ant-Man film will most certainly be a massive and probably chaotic challenge for our tiny but mighty MCU heroes to try to overcome.

  • ‘MORTAL KOMBAT’: First Look at Kabal Revealed

‘MORTAL KOMBAT’: First Look at Kabal Revealed

Another fighter has entered the tournament. The upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot has officially revealed the first full look at Kabal. He sneakily is in a new group shot banner that was released on Twitter to advertise the film. The image appears to divide the film’s characters of the movie into heroes and villains. Naturally, Kabal rounds out the dark side of the picture. He was previously one of the only confirmed characters not to get a poster. He was even in the trailer in a blink-or-you’ll-miss-it cameo. There, he appeared to be facing off against the jaws of Liu Kang’s famous dragon fatality. If that scene plays out anything like the video games, it probably means we won’t see Kabal in a hypothetical sequel.

First introduced in Mortal Kombat 3, Kabal is a mercenary who works for the lethal Black Dragon organization alongside fellow scumbag Kano. Whether this will play a role in the movie remains to be seen, but the first look confirms that he’ll at least wield his signature hook swords. Kabal is also known for his quick feet, often combining his super-speed with his deadly blades to great effect.

The character joins the likes of Sisi Stringer‘s Mileena and Joe Taslim‘s Sub-Zero as part of Shang Tsung’s antagonistic crew for the movie adaptation. If it’s still unknown who is playing the masked killer. One might assume that if the role is as minor as marketing makes it out to be, the character could be portrayed by a stunt actor of some kind.

  • ‘Doom Patrol’: Michelle Gomez Cast as Madame Rogue

‘Doom Patrol’: Michelle Gomez Cast as Madame Rogue

The upcoming season of Doom Patrol is quite an anticipated one considering the previous season’s abrupt and cliffhanger ending that found the team quite literally in pieces. Throughout season two the threat of the Candlemaker was a shadow that hung heavy over the team as they reeled with the hard truth that the Chief was at fault for every single accident that brought them to where they were. Little is known plotwise about this upcoming season, but many diehards will love the upcoming live-action debut of Madame Rogue, an original member of the Brotherhood of Evil, and while we haven’t heard much on the rest of the brotherhood we now know who’ll be bringing Rogue to life.

Fans of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Flight Attendant will be happy to know HBO Max is keeping it in the family with the recent addition of Michelle Gomez as the sinister Frenchie with a killer dual personality courtesy of a nearly fatal car crash. We’ll first see Rogue arrive at Doom Manor as an “eccentric and complicated” individual with a special mission. This mission could very well be to infiltrate the team via their leader. Rogue and Niles Caulder have quite a history in the comics, as the two once shared a romantic relationship in which Caulder helped Rogue overcome her evil personality.

Doom Patrol season 3 has no set release date but is currently in production. The upcoming season will see the return of Matt Bomer, Brendan Fraser, April Bowlby, Dianna Guerrero, and Jovian Wade as they take on the Brotherhood of Dada.

  • EXCLUSIVE: Details on Mad Moxxi’s ‘BORDERLAND’ Role

EXCLUSIVE: Details on Mad Moxxi’s ‘BORDERLAND’ Role

Game adaptations have been hit or miss on the silver screen. We are anxiously awaiting the next attempt: the upcoming reboot of Mortal Kombat that only recently released its first trailer. Still, it isn’t the only new game adaptation on everyone’s mind, as Eli Roth is hard at work on his upcoming adaptation of Borderlands. Just yesterday, it was revealed that Florian Munteanu had joined as Tiny Tina’s guardian, Krieg. They seem to be taking a lot of inspiration from the game, as most casting announcements are for characters based on existing NPCs from the franchise. Well, we can exclusively reveal one more iconic character that will make her live-action debut, Mad Moxxi.

Borderlands 3: 10 Weird Facts You Didn't Know About Moxxi

The character made her debut in the first entry of the franchise. She was the main focus of the Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot DLC. She is the hostess of the Colosseum but also runs various bars throughout Pandora. The film seems to be aging up the character. They are currently looking for a female in the age range from 50 to 59 for the character who is described as “wedged into a red Victorian bustier,” which matches her look in the game. They also allude to her powdered white face and the iconic top hat, so they are sticking to her original design, but they are open to casting any ethnicity. However, they do seem to be eyeing Italian actress Isabella Ross or Human Trafficking‘s Mira Sorvino for the role.

The film is set to feature Moxxi’s Red Light, her bar which made its debut in the game during The Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC. There is sadly no mention of the Colosseum, so it seems unlikely it will make an appearance. This version of Moxxi will have some ties to Cate Blanchett‘s Lilith meaning they might explore her history with the Hodunk Clan. Whichever direction they decide to take with this character, she will make for a great addition when they will bring this character to life on the silver screen when the film premieres next year.

  • EXCLU: Rob Zombie Set to Helm ‘THE MUNSTERS’ Film for Universal

EXCLU: Rob Zombie Set to Helm ‘THE MUNSTERS’ Film for Universal

Rock icon and horror director Rob Zombie has been tapped to bring the classic sitcom family, The Munsters, to the big screen. Zombie, who has directed over a half dozen horror films over the past 15 years or so, including a pair of Halloween films and his Firefly series, also wrote the screenplay for Universal. 70 episodes of The Munsters aired on CBS from 1964 to 1966 before being canceled but found a second wind in syndication becoming extremely popular while airing on Nick at Nite. Zombie has professed his love for the original series many times over the years, claiming to have seen each episode “at least 17 times.

The Munsters' actress Beverley Owen has died at age 81

Production on the film is currently set to begin in Budapest in early May. Two of Zombie’s usual suspects have been cast as leads in the comedy with Jeff Daniel Phillips set as Herman Munster and Zombie’s wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, set as Lily Munster. Dan Roebuck, Jorge Garcia and Richard Brake have also joined the cast in major roles and Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, has also joined on in a supporting role.

No release date has been set for the film at this time.

  • ‘STAR WARS’: Roles Thought to be Bound for a New Series are Instead Set for ‘The Mandalorian’

‘STAR WARS’: Roles Thought to be Bound for a New Series are Instead Set for ‘The Mandalorian’

Late last year, before there was any sort of official confirmation regarding The Mandalorian spin-offs, reports came out announcing a couple of roles that were supposed to be destined for one of those shows. The roles, labeled “Drash” and “Skad”, were both for British-sounding supporting characters, one male and one female, both in their late teens/early twenties, both members of a street crew.

In what can only be assumed as either as a small mistake made in the initial reports or as a natural evolution of the writing process of these shows, we can now confirm that these two characters will instead be appearing alongside Pedro Pascal‘s Din Djarin in the third season of The Mandalorian, in what seem to be the first additions to the cast after the record-setting season 2. With Grogu having left the show (or did he?) to be trained by Luke Skywalker, both “Drash” and “Skad” might turn out to be two characters that will try to fill that gap, as Din Djarin will need someone close to interact with.

After a cameo-filled second season that paved the way to several spin-off announcements by introducing to live-action Star Wars characters like Bo-Katan, Cobb Vanth, Ahsoka Tano and bringing back Boba Fett, The Mandalorian’s third season might be returning to the template used on season one, by focusing mostly on new characters, created specifically for the show.

The Mandalorian season 3 will begin filming shortly and is set for a 2022 release. 2021 should still bring us its first spin-off, as the Boba Fett and Fennec Shand centered The Book of Boba Fett, staring Tamuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen, is set for release this December, only on Disney+.

  • UPDATE: James Gunn Addresses the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Adam Warlock Casting

UPDATE: James Gunn Addresses the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Adam Warlock Casting

UPDATE: It looks like James Gunn has responded to Illuminerdi’s story on the casting of Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The director is well-known for discussing these kinds of stories openly on Social Media, so he offers a quick response to point out the validity. He points out that the film is currently not casting and that if they were interested in someone similar to Zac Efron, he would simply approach the actor in the role.

It’s crazy to think that it has been almost four years since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 released in theatres. James Gunn is slowly getting ready to start production on his third entry. It will finally continue the story of our favorite space heroes. The last time we saw them, they were heading out into space alongside Thor. The threequel will likely take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Yet, there was still one essential plot thread that has yet to get answered since the post-credit sequence of Vol. 2.

One of the main antagonists for the story was the Sovereign and the Golden High Priestess, Ayesha. After their defeat, she was getting ready to unleash her ultimate creation, which comic fans instantly recognized as the birth of Adam Warlock. After a long wait, we’ll finally meet the man in the cocoon in the upcoming third entry of the franchise. They are currently looking for a Zac Efron-type actor to take on the role, so they are looking for a 30-year-old Caucasian, who is a superhero type.

It’s funny to think back to when he first got teased. We didn’t know if he’ll get introduced in a Guardians film or another franchise. The Vision took over his role from the Infinity Gauntlet saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the comics, Warlock was the owner of the Mind Stone. It even was in the same spot. So, many wondered if he had any role in AvengersInfinity War, which wasn’t going to release for another two years at the time. It will be interesting to see how he plays into the story and which angle James Gunn might take with the character. He will start production on the film once he finishes work on The Suicide Squad spin-off, Peacemaker. So, there is still time until we have anything official on the matter.

  • ‘Creed II’s Florian Munteanu Joins ‘Borderlands’

‘Creed II’s Florian Munteanu Joins ‘Borderlands’

It looks like Borderlands isn’t quite done casting for its upcoming film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Eli Roth-led project has found its next major addition in Florian Munteanu, who played Viktor Drago in Creed II. He will play Krieg, who is the bodyguard of the explosive expert Tiny Tina. She has also recently been cast with Ariana Greenblatt set to take on the role. Roth gave the following statement on his casting:

Florian brings real humanity and multiple layers to a character who on the surface seems totally insane and brutally savage. Krieg was by far the most difficult role to cast, and Florian brought him to life and grounded him in a way that I didn’t know was possible. He’s going to be a brilliant Krieg and will fit in perfectly with our incredible cast.

He certainly is a perfect choice for the part. The 6’4, 235-pound actor is the perfect choice to bring this giant to life and will be even more intimidating standing next to Tiny Tina. Currently, the production is eyeing a start in mid-April in Hungary, s we might see other castings get announced in the coming weeks. It already is star-studded with Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jack Black all joining the production. The film will adapt the popular gaming franchise, which was created by Gearbox Software and 2K. It is still uncertain which storyline they might be adapting from the games, or if this will be a unique take. Hopefully, we will get some more details as we near production.
